Chicken fried steak was so so so good 10/10 would recommend. The crepe combo was crazy good, and the remaining group topping was a perfect match with the scone. This is such a great value. This location in particular spot. The staff actually care about their jobs and they’ve worked here for a while. From the very first bite, my daughter couldn’t stop talking about how good it was.

What a great little spot! We decided breakfast for dinner was what we needed, and boy did it hit the spot after a long day of walking. Food arrived fairly quickly and everything was delicious. We have no complaints. Service was super attentive and very friendly as well. Can't wait to go back!

CLASSIC diner food. Large portions and great vibes. Menu is fairly priced, and service is amazing. I got a crepe, loved it. My friends got corned beef breakfast with pancakes on the side, and another friend just got the pancakes. Solid stuff all around!!

Dees is the best restaurant in the valley no cap. The service and the green and red booths alone make it so. The best thing to do is to get a breakfast platter and get pancakes as the bread option. Boom.

Arrives around 5:30. Great time as it appears i was just ahead of the crowd. This is a place that older folks like looking at those eating, me being in that group. I was greeted promptly and seated. Dining alone is never fun, but didn't see to be an issue. They had specials up, but I went with the mushroom chicken on the seniors menu. Chicken was covered with Swiss cheese, mushrooms and green peppers. Chicken was tender but had definitely been precooked. The flavors were great. It came with fake potatoes covered in gravy. Being from Idaho i was a little disappointed. And then there was a good helping of mixed veggies. They were not fresh and had no seasoning. For the price, it wasn't bad. Good service. They were on top of filling my water. A little slow with the ticket, but they had just gotten busy. Over all, for something different that a burger chain, it fit the bill. Hope you enjoy your meal.

Dee would be proud of this location. Arrived and was quite busy. The wait was not that long, thought we would be there waiting long into old age. The menu was deep and so many options. Got order in and it came quick. Hot and delicious. Our server was just awesome, and he came by and checked in often. We will be going back. Don't get the pancakes if you like fluffy and soft, had to use a knife to cut.

Senior breakfast was great. It is hard to find a place that knows how to cook fried eggs to over easy with the whites do e and the yolks still run y. News flash the cook the day we was there was spot on. Great job. Keep making them great. The hash brown's where Great also. Great service. We will be back!!!

We come in here all the time and until today have been happy with the experience. Our server “ Riley” was clueless and didn’t pay any attention to us. The only other server “Hermes” was running around and working one end of the restaurant to the other. He was actually doing a good job. The food was the worst we’ve ever had here before. Don’t get the chicken fried steak platter. Maybe they got a new cook. To bad if they did. All around a crappy experience. Waste of time and money.

Aloha everybody I honestly don't know where to start with these. Let's start with. This was a fantastic place hands-down my favorite place I was at in Utah. I felt it was Homestyle. They were greeting patrons perfectly. The service was amazing on point. The ambience was pretty cool because it was a diner and they had no qualms about that. Now let's get to the food I went with a simple meal. I got the corned beef hash, and oh my gosh, it could not have been cooked more perfectly they had a perfect layer of crust on it that added to the flavor, the hashbrowns crispy full of flavor and delicious. I should've asked for a side of gravy to cover it with cause I know it would've been fantastic. the eggs were hot and cooked to my liking and then just for dessert. I decided to get a Belgium waffle I destroyed that too cause it was delicious. Dee's I could talk all day about how amazing my experience was thank you so much. I can guarantee that this hungry Hawaiian will come back again and again and again just so I can have your food and I have to try more on the menu because it did look quite delicious.

Been a while since I've visited Dee's. I had lunch with the fam here a while back. One nice thing about the menu is there's something for everyone. I had a club sandwich, delicious. My wife had chicken fried steak and eggs. The kids had pasta and chocolate milk. All served up with a smile. It makes me happy to see an establishment last for so long. Long live the "freaky" Dee's!

Can't beat the cheese fries at Dee's!! Prices have really gone up especially for the breakfast food. Service was pretty good.

If your looking for someplace to sit and have a decent breakfast, this could be your spot. I had a California omelet. It was a fluffy cheese, bacon omelet with fresh avocado slices on top. The omelet came with crispy hash browns and I select the sourdough as a side. Our server was pleasant and attentive and they had a beautiful pie display when you enter, just behind the hostess station. We will be back to try the lunch and dinner menu items soon.

Apparently women owned? Loved the casual, retro diner vibes at Dee's. From Dee's story on the menu to the booth seats, everything was so cute! I will say that my favorite things I tried were the sweet potato fries and the pancakes. We got blueberry compote with the pancakes-- not needed at all since the pancakes were so yummy. I got the Mr. D's special-- it was honestly a bit dry and needed a bit more salt, but there's salt at the table for that. Overall, definitely would go again for the great service & even better prices.

Visited our daughter's favorite SLC breakfast place. FAST FOOD: I ordered the Chili Verde Burrito which was amazing! The sauce tasted great! We also got a couple sandwiches, which everyone enjoyed. ATMOSPHERE: Typical diner style, busy but we sat quickly. SERVICE: the hostess was very friendly and our waitress Ashley was super nice. TIP: the coffee was great!!

This is THE spot. Far superior to Black Bear - I had the same meal I get at Black Bear - the country friend steak platter - and this is just leagues and leagues better. Go to Dee's.

Solid diner, but nothing special. Ambience : classic old school diner. Lots of seating and cute decor on the wall. Service : quick and friendly. Food : I got the griddle combo with the French toast and a side of hashbrowns. Everything was decent and was a fairly large portion. Overall, solid diner for when you're feeling like you want staple breakfast food. But otherwise, nothing special.

My husband is a sanitation technician, and says that this is easily the cleanest restaurant he's ever serviced. The staff were kind and prompt, and the food was delicious! Will be coming back!

My Pancake came out really sour, and it got fixed with no questions asked! It's always awkward talking to someone about a messed up order, but my server made a tricky situation okay and I appreciated it a lot! Food always comes out fast, and it's pretty consistent too. It's a fun place to get some quick grub!

Today I found out that all three locations are owned by women! This is the best place to come for a good bite to eat. The food is always delicious! The service is always fast and quality!

Sweetest staff and great dinner vibes. The cinnamon rolls are a 10/10 and the reason we keep coming back. Plus breakfast anytime is a win for me.

Five stars all around -- in the classic diner category. (This is NOT haute cuisine!). Dee's has been around for decades. And for good reason: they serve all the dishes you expect in a classic diner. I've had brunch (omelettes, etc.) and recently had an excellent mid-afternoon French dip with perfect fries and fry sauce (if you're just visiting Utah, you must ask for fry sauce everywhere you dine! So good). The ambiance is stuck somewhere in the 1990s--lots of naugahide booths, counter service, and is so welcoming and comforting. The service is always bang-on good--the perfect combo of friendly, efficient, and well-paced, even in the busiest times (and it can get VERY BUSY during weekend brunch hours). They keep the coffee coming, and if it's not busy there's no pressure to turn the table. A fantastic, classic, very local joint.

The Owner, Jamie, took my order and after I received an incorrect item she continued to argue that she was correct. I've been going to Dee's for over 20 years and have always ordered the same thing, the same way. She is Very unprofessional and called me "hun". When I asked her not to call me "hun" she hung up on me. I will never support this business again. The Food lacks quality but customer service at this location is the worst I've ever received.

They are great. Good food and decent prices. Excellent service. I am a regular . It is a relaxed place to eat.

How has it taken me 26 years to go to Dee's?!? Incredible prices, service and cleanliness. I ordered the fresh garden platter with pancakes on the side. It was so delicious! The veggies were yummy, the hash browns were crisp and the pancakes were fluffy!!! The service was SO fast, even when we went on a Saturday morning. I loved the home style feel and smell of freshly brewed coffee. Will be back!!

Nice diner. Very relaxed atmosphere and easy-going vibe. Pretty decent food portions and a good price to boot. There seemed to only be one older lady serving, but she was spry and charming she was which made the experience great.

Honestly, this place has the best service. If you're ever in the mood for just comfort food this is the place. I love the diner feeling and all.

The food was absolutely amazing, super affordable, and all of the staff were incredibly warm with us! I highly recommend checking out this charming family diner if you're in the Salt Lake City area. Takes you straight into an indie film.

May God strike me down if i lie but our waiter started off by pouring the spilled coffee in his tray directly on the carpet floor right in front of us. This instantly ruined whatever expectation i had for this place. I will say, the waiter - despite his appalling behavior - was a nice dude. Our food came out fast and looked decently appetizing, however that image of our waiter just dumping coffee directly into the carpet floor still made me gag a bit. Ok so how did the food taste? Pretty shite. Everything was obviously packaged food that had just been reheated. Doesn't feel healthy nor clean. But tbh thats not what you expect from restaurants like this - so if thats your cup of tea, the taste then is meh. If you're into that denny's typa meal then this is the restaurant for you. Since it is basically dennys bigger brother. If you're expecting something of quality as Park Cafe or Over the Counter, id skip this joint Last note. The hostess was very sweet. Came in tonight with friends and was able to relive a nostalgic meal from my college days!! I got the French toast off the Senior menu and a chocolate shake!! Sheer bliss!! Service was great and it's always a fun vibe. Can't go wrong with Dee's!! Just good comfort food!!

Wow, what a difference 5 years makes! Everything I used to love about Dee's has faded. I came here on Thanksgiving afternoon since it was one of the few places open. I was excited to see a turkey dinner offered for $14.99, so I ordered that. It was a disaster in every way possible (except for the service: imagine that)! My dinner sounded like a value because of what was included. It's not a good deal when the food is borderline inedible. My meal came with the following: * Beverage - I selected iced tea, which was freshly brewed and really delicious. Turns out, it was the best part of my entire meal. * Soup - I chose Wisconsin cheddar. This was DISGUSTING; so bad that Dee's should be ashamed of serving it. Grainy and thick with a snot-like consistency, this gelatinous glob of grossness and its fake smoky taste made me gag. * Turkey - I was expected carved turkey breast. Instead, I got slices of supbar deli sandwich turkey covered in slimy gravy and a small side of canned cranberry sauce. * Stuffing / Dressing - this was runny, like the kitchen had run out and tried to stretch it by adding water. I couldn't eat this. * Mashed Potatoes - Meh. * Green Beans - obviously frozen beans were microwaved and slapped on the plate for some color. * Dinner Roll - cold and ripped right out of a package. * Slice of Pie - I got pecan, and it was unexpectedly mediocre. Way too sweet. The crust was tasty, at least. I was so thankful I ordered cheese fries to start. They were covered in a generous portion of cheese, but the fries themselves were soaked in grease. I don't know what happened, but every bite was just oozing grease. The potatoes had soaked up so much oil that it felt like they were stuffed with grease. The flavor was good, but I didn't enjoy eating them. My friend had an omelette and he couldn't finish more than 1/3 of it. He actually said he didn't want to eat more than that because it was so bad. I love family diners, but Dee's isn't good at all anymore. I am so, so sad to have to say that.

Awesome breakfast pastries and food!! Th e staff was friendly and service was expedient. We were there while on vacation, so I wish they were located near me.

Dee's is so great! My husband and I eat lunch here about once a month. Great diner food, fair prices, and the service is better than most fine dining restaurants. Not joking. This place is a well oiled machine! Everything is so consistently perfect at Dee's that it's been our go to spot for years when we want a nice, fresh, sit down lunch during the workday and we can't chance disappointment. The country platter and the chicken fried steak platters are my favorite breakfasts to have for lunch. :) Dee's is a community hub, on top of everything else. There's always friendly banter between staff and regulars. I see a lot of seniors there who obviously look forward to the social interactions as much as they look forward to the food. This is what community is all about. The team seems to have very little turnover, which says a lot about how well the business is run. I get the impression that the staff has a good time, despite the hard work, and they seem to care about each other and help each other out. The menus are always clean. The condiments and salt and pepper are always full and wiped down. My eggs are always perfectly cooked. As a former restaurant manager myself, Dee's is top tier, first class, absolutely as good as it gets. Sure, you can get fancier food at other restaurants, but Dee's is serving up perfectly prepared diner food with some of the best service in SLC! Thanks, Dee's team! We'll always keep coming back. This is the best Lumber Jack Breakfast I've had from Dee's in a very long time. When arriving I noticed that Covid19 practices were in place. Despite this, I walked in and got seated right away, probably because I was willing to sit at the counter instead of waiting for a table. Every other table was blocked off, and so were every other seat at the counter. Now for my experience eating here. I'm giving a 4 star review because my actual breakfast was so perfect. However, the service gets a 1 star and that's being generous. I sat, and sat, and sat, and sat with no acknowledgement from any of the servers that had to walk past me to pick up their food orders. At one point I asked the gal next to me who her server was. She said that she was actually sitting on the other side of the restaurant when she placed her order, and moved over to the counter. She pointed out who her server was when he came over to check on her. However, this was not the same server I ended up getting. Finally, Ebram showed up to take my order. Of all the times he passed by me picking up other food orders, not once did he say I will be right with you, or some kind of acknowledgement. He has no customer service skills, none. He frantically took my order, and I had to ask more than once to get a cup coffee. When he brought my coffee, and quickly set it down and left, I noticed it was only a half of a cup! I had to ask another server to fill my cup up. On the subject of coffee, why does Dee's use those small plastic coffee cups? Just nasty. The coffee tasted good though despite this small obstacle. Finally my breakfast arrived, and I was overjoyed! I even exclaimed WOW! But Ebram was long gone by then. The first thing I noticed was how Big, and FLUFFY the pancakes were. I haven't seen anything like this before. They were a meal or two in themselves. The actual eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and hash browns were delicious. Especially the hash browns so light, and fluffy not greasy at all. So much food I had to ask for a to go box which I decided to take the pancakes home to eat later. I had to ask another server for syrup to go because again Ebram was nowhere to be found. Funny thing after I was done eating, and waiting for my bill, another older gentleman came in and sat at the counter. He didn't have to wait for one minute as he got his coffee right away, and his order was taken and presented to him before I even got my bill! Through the Plexiglas the cashier asked how my meal was. I started my reply telling her how fabulous my breakfast was, and then I told her of my experience with her server. She said 'I'm surprised as Ebram is our best server" Umm not today he's not. When I get a chance to have breakfast here again, I hope the cook is still working here, as he is the only redeeming quality from my experience here today. Definitely not for the service.

Our visit to Dee's started out as expected. Saturday mornings always promise the welcoming smell of sausage and coffee accompanied by the mild roar of a full house of diners. Upon being seated we were greeted by "the tattoo dude " who welcomed us with enthusiasm and grace. After reviewing our option on the menu I decided to go with the verde omelette. When our food arrived my expected omelette had morphed into a chunky burrito. With a confused look and questioning voice I stated "I ordered an omelette ". "Tattoo dude" replied "no you didn't " . We locked eyes for the next few moments, neither of us will to speak. Eventually, after what seemed like an eternity he banked right and sped away, only to return with a menu and pointing to in a loud voice how I was obviously wrong and that the burrito was indeed my requested fare. I don't mind the mistake, it's par with Dees. But being called an omelette liar, being gas lighted in an attempt to believe I ordered an omelette, and then being publicly humiliated and reprogrammed on the Dees menu selection was taking it a bit too far. No need to apologize, I accept your regret prior to that. I'm sure my wife still tipped within reason, and in the end it will make a turd as usual. 3/5

I was in town visiting a friend and I needed to try this famous fry sauce that Utah is known for. My friend already likes Dee's so we swung by for a small fry $1.99 and sauce. We quickly found a stool at the counter in this old school looking diner and our server was great. Very personable. He told us the size of our small fry came out smaller than normal so he gave us a second plate of fries! They're just standard frozen diner fries, but cooked perfectly so they hit the spot especially with a side of fry sauce to dip them in. I guess fry sauce is some sort of ketchup and mayo combination? Maybe some onion powder, pickle juice, or paprika thrown in there? I just know I'm a dipper kind of person in general so I was happy. If I am ever back in Salt Lake City I would hit up Dee's again, they seemed to be a well oiled machine with friendly staff cranking out good looking and affordable diner food.

The menu has changed somewhat over the years, but I have to give Dee's kudos for keeping that wonderful Wisconsin cheese soup. It's the perfect comfort food to warm my belly on a cold day.

The food is mediocre at best, the service is excellent but with the recent 30% price hike, I expect it to close it's doors soon!

Out of all the diners in the area I've been to that are not one offs (Village Inn, Denny's, IHOP, etc) Dee's is my favorite. Expansive menu, decent pricing, comfy booths, great service and tasty food. Our server kept our drinks full, the food came out really quickly, and we all enjoyed what we got. Their fries are awesome. As are their pancakes.

This place is what a diner should be; good hot food served with attentive care and a smile. We came here while on vacation and decided to stop for late breakfast. The service was great, food was served hot and fast and did not disappoint. The corned beef hash was the best I've ever had!

After checking out this amazing moving sign above the building, and loving the old neon and diner-y feel of the building, I decided to venture in for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Griddle Combo and had two pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Pancakes are my favorite, and these were not the best, nor were they amazing. They were crispy and didn't taste that amazing. They were not fluffy and soft inside. Also, I would have loved to have syrup in a syrup container, instead of in the paper portion containers. Otherwise, very friendly service, crowded, diverse, and filling! Great place to come throughout the day and breakfast is served all day! I would like to return and try some more of their menu at some point, but not running back immediately.

Perfect when you want that classic diner-type experience. The grilled cheese on Texas toast is my go to, but the Utah scone is classic as well!

I have always been pleased with my visits to this Dee's! Keep in mind it's Dee's. It's the McDonald's of diners. Don't expect the best food you've ever had in your life. Expect waiters with personality who are pretty authentic yet also respectful. Expect basic pancakes. But also know you're gonna get tasty food at a good price. I'll definitely be back! It's a great spot I love having in my neighborhood.

This place has great service with a diner vibe we like! The pancakes are huge, soft and fluffy! We like the grilled cheese sandwich more than the fried chicken steak, but both are not bad!

We were hungry. It was a Sunday around 10 am and all the fun, hip breakfast places had lines out the door. I don't do lines when I'm hungry. We ended up at Dee's-our expectations were low. Man, were we wrong! Service was fast and friendly-I think our waitress has worked here longer than I've been alive-but she still seemed to enjoy what she did. Our food was great. Like-REALLY-great. Between the three of us, we had pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, french toast and bacon. Just thinking about it makes me hungry again. Maybe I'll go to Dee's for a mid-day breakfast.

It took forever for a waitress to even show up. I think they said they were shorthanded. Also, the food just was not very good.

I haven't been to Dee's in years, and I was not impressed this time I made a visit. I walked in and saw a sign with a list of specials - items at a discount. I asked the hostess if all the specials were going on and she confirmed that all the specials on the board are valid. Cool. My friend's grilled cheese was a bit burnt. My french toast tasted very, very odd. The egg coating on the bread was not put on the frying pan for long enough, so the french toast was very soft on the outside. I did end up ordering an item on the discounted specials list, it was a cheese quesadilla. I was delighted that the quesadilla came with large sides of guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. But that's all that was good about the dish. The quesadilla was embarrassingly thin. The cheese mix was ghastly. I really could not force it down.The guac was good, the quesadilla wasn't. Stay away. Service was also nonexistent. A few minutes after our waitress brought our food, she stepped outside for a smoke break with other staff. No water refills and didn't come check on us. She came back to us at the very end when we were ready to leave to give us our check. You have to walk up to the front counter to pay. Since our waitress didn't ask if we wanted the bill split and put everything on one bill, we told the hostess/cashier that we wanted to split the bill. She said that she doesn't know how to do that and asked for a man. The man said he doesn't know how to do that and asked for another woman. Finally, this woman rings me up for my food while telling me how "they" (who??) never trained staff to split bills. Before handing me the receipt to sign, she asks out loud, "How much will you tip?" OUT LOUD. With a whole line of people behind me. Like, can you not? However much I decide to tip is private. It's also odd that she asked because I paid with a card and had to sign the bill anyway. I told her that I'll write it on the receipt. Then she rang up my friend's bill and did the same thing. It was really uncomfortable! I was so irritated after having crappy food and terrible service that I didn't pay as much attention to my bill as I normally do. She did not hand me a copy of the itemized bill, just a bill with the total. While driving home, I realized that the total was off because the quesadilla was at a discount and it was clear that the discount did not get added in. Although I did not want to make the drive back to Dee's, I was curious about how the total was calculated, so I called the restaurant. Someone picked up the phone and said the quesadilla is not discounted on weekends (when I went) and told me what the regular price was. Umm... the price she told me was more than the regular price listed ON the menu. What??

My family and I have been coming here for years. The food is kinda hit and miss, sometimes it great and others it's bland. They have very reasonable prices and we've always had nothing but great service every time we've gone.

Ok I don't usually do this however I order the lumberjack breakfast. I was about to dig in but there was a screw in my meal. I was lucky that I found it before I ate. I told the waitress and it was remade. Now usually someone might sue or something and have a payout or whatever. But I'm usually pretty nice and most places would comp or discount the meal after such a thing. But nope nothing was done. I'm very disappointed considering I could've sued and had the place shut down. I will not be returning and hopefully everyone sees this and is careful before they start eating here.

If you've been to Denny's, Sherry's, IHOP, or countless other diner style restaurants, you have a good idea of what you are in for here. Admittedly, this has a gunner, more local non-corporate vibe though. But the food isn't any better. Not bad, totally acceptable comfort foods with a menu selection that's all over the place consisting of items a short order cook can make in a jiffy. Seems like going with the breakfast foods is your best bet. Most of the people around me were having breakfast even though it was lunch time. The eggs I had were covered with a plasticy cheese and filled with too many onions which overpowered all the other flavors but again, it wasn't bad. Good place to take little kids for a breakfast treat.

The food was very good and service was amazing. The server was so happy and gave great recommendations. A great venue for family meals. And the shakes be ready for some amazing yum mines.

On a Cold and snowy night I had to have a French Dip Sandwich and nothing else would do. I haven't been to this restaurant for years They did not disappoint me. The French dip was hot loaded with cheese onions and mushrooms on a large hogie bun. It came with fries they were just ok but that first dip in the AuJus delicious! My husband had Chicken Fried Steak breakfast he said it was a solid 10 all around Prices were great. Service was great and it's super clean although the decor took me right back to 1986 We will be back especially if Spring never shows up

We came in at 4:45 on Friday night. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. We ordered, a chicken fried steak dinner and a pork chop special dinner. The food came out quickly; however the pork chops weren't pork chops and were mushroom green pepper smothered chicken. They corrected the dish after I mentioned it, but after 15-20 minutes of remaking the right dish my partner was done eating when I was served. There wasn't any discount offered. The food is okay, it's similar to hospital quality food. Everything needed seasoning and even after waiting for them to be made fresh the pork chops weren't very flavorful. The chicken fried steak was good. We might have to come back for breakfast to reevaluate opinions.
