I've travelled to Jamaica many times, but this was the first staying at an all inclusive in Montego Bay. I took 8 family members aging from 22-78, so there we varying needs and expectations. With that said, there are two different types of rooms at Deja which significantly framed people's experience. 2 of 4 rooms were kings beds in the updated rooms, the other rooms with 2 beds, where very updated and much less enjoyable. The location is great if you want to be on the Hip Strip where the beaches and shopping are located. Deja has access to Doctor's Cove Beach where an umbrella and a couple of chairs will run about $25 USD (with set up tip). Resort food was cafeteria style. Personally, I very much enjoyed the authentic cuisine; it was what I would have eaten at at friend's house on the island. There is also a lunch grill near the pool. Room service was spotty; you need to ask for what you need more often than not, and sometimes need to follow up again. The staff were very friendly. Some were very prompt and accommodating, while others were on "island time". Overall, I would recommend this hotel, but if you are looking for more of US resort experience, you may be left wanting more. If you are independent, have travelled, and are looking for a more authentic experience, this price point is great.

I had a wonderful stay at Deja Resort after Hurricane Melissa. Even with water and electricity challenges, the Resort still provided full service and the staff were friendly and accommodating. It's my second time there and second time being impressed. The rooms are clean and spacious, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful. As a Jamaican visiting home, I am rarely impressed by good service but Deja did that! I will definitely be back.

Food and drinks all inclusive plus were great. You really get your moneys worth! I definitely recommend this hotel for your stay! All the Staff were very professional, friendly, and welcoming. Shout to Laretta… she was a great, fun host! Donovan was a great bartender! If you ever see Nelli, ask her to dance! Crystal is an amazing performer! Hotel was clean and well kept.

5 out of 5. Lauryn at front desk is sooo polite and helpful. All the staff at the restaurant, bar and grill are lovely people. The place is clean and tidy and food is delicious. I really enjoyed the omelette and rum punch. It’s directly opposite doctors cave which is great and also Starbucks coffee. It’s nice and classic and it’s not American dominated. The jerk chicken is sooooooo juicy and falls off the bone. My daughter really enjoyed her stay

During Hurricane Melissa, I had the privilege of staying at Deja Resort in Jamaica, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible staff who made this experience feel like being with family. Being a solo traveler is hard but going through it while facing a natural disaster is quite frankly a stressful situation. This boutique hotel truly became a safe haven in every sense of the word.||A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Walker, who went above and beyond to check on me constantly throughout the storm, ensuring my comfort and peace of mind. When the storm worsened, she even checked me back into the hotel with safe accommodations, making sure I was cared for and secure. I also want to recognize Mr. Phillip Russell, the owner, along with the maintenance team—Jermaine and Niketo—and the security staff. They were literally dodging debris—zinc rooftops, stone boulders, palm trees—putting their lives on the line as they bravely stayed outside through harsh wind and rain, working tirelessly to secure the property and ensure every guest remained safe.||At the front desk, Shane, Roshon, Ashley deserve special mention for their incredible patience and professionalism. They faced endless requests, complaints, and anxious guests, yet managed it all with grace, calmness, and genuine smiles throughout the ordeal.||The culinary team—and waitstaff, Pete, Marvin, Jaedon, Satia, Nadine, Crystal, Dana, Travia went above and beyond. While other hotels were handing out snack packs, we enjoyed delicious, freshly prepared meals: ackee and saltfish, oxtails, seafood dishes, made-to-order plates, and tasty soups with every meal. Their comfort food brought joy and warmth in the darkest of times, and their dedication was truly heartwarming.||What moved me most was realizing that these employees were going through their own despair—losing belongings, furniture, even homes—while still showing up with strength, smiles, and compassion. Many were trying to reach their own families yet continued to care for guests as if we were their own.||Special thanks to MVPS Nellie and Leonard for entertaining us and treating us with an over showering of love! Thank you||Please, if you ever visit Montego Bay, consider staying at Deja Resort—or donating to support this marvelous team. They represent the true spirit of Jamaican resilience and hospitality. I will never forget them. Also, you can give to their official GoFundMe.

Let me first tell you about the staff. Can you say welcoming and extremely attentive. You would think hurricane Melissa would’ve dampened their spirits, but they rose to the occasion of giving amazing service. From the beautiful and entertaining Loretta and Nelli to the smiling and always welcoming Satia in the restaurant. The front desk staff is always there to help. From finding you a taxi to just giving you a towel at 2am in the morning. Ms. Walker the managing director wears many hats. She is seen daily working in every department and is so down to earth. The nights are an experience because of the amazing entertainment. We arrived Tuesday and there was a scheduled Reggae night. The guests were seated outside for dinner and entertainment. Let me tell you they did not disappoint. Menu consisted of jerk chicken, white rice or rice and peas, curry goat, oxtail, even had a sugar cane and jelly coconut guy. All you can eat is an understatement. Each night was filled with something special. I met the amazing “ Motion” he can walk on nails/ breath fire and get this a contortionist. I know I know this review is too long. But give me another minute so I can rave about the the use of Doctor’s Cave Beach across the street. There’s a door man that will ensure your safe crossing with the use of a stop sign. So don’t worry about the on going traffic. If you eat late there is late night dining. If you are ever in Montego Bay book Deja Resort you won’t be disappointed. Oh wait also make sure to participate in Karaoke night , I had a great time. I can’t sing but just choose a song and be yourself. Jamaica is open y’all, come to Jamaica and feel alright 🇯🇲.

Pleasant experience. Older resort: dated rooms;well worn towels /linens Great service. Delicious food. Pool Snack Bar was great!! |However, Expedia advertises this as “Beach Front”. It’s actually across the street from Doctors Cave Beach (beautiful beach). It’s free with a voucher from the hotel, but $14 for an umbrella and a chair. I guess I’m just used to rolling out the bed and walking a few steps to the beach. Drinks and food are pricy, too

My trip to Deja started off pretty stressful. I had contacted the resort multiple times before my arrival with several questions to make check in smoother. Imagine my frustration when none of the responses they gave me were accurate and extended my check in process by 2 entire hours. Shout out to Roshawn for trying his best to help us sort it out. When I finally got to my room, it was decent. Some rooms were updated (like the ones my family checked into) but I was the only one who got an extremely outdated room. I stayed for 4 nights and was unable to get a washcloth for my room during my entire stay. Beach towels were limited for the number of guests in the hotel. It seemed like they always ran out of beach towels which realistically you should have one available for the number of guests you have in the hotel. The food was alright. I appreciated that the food was local cuisine. And the service in the dining area was great (shout out to Satia, great service, friendly and always pleasant). Also major shout out to Loretta (entertainment manager) who kept my family and I entertained during our whole stay. Great energy and so sweet! One thing to keep in mind as well is that when using the beach you’ll have to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas daily. You shouldn’t leave them empty either if you decide to step away for lunch and come back as they will quickly scoop them up and resell your chair or umbrella to the next person. The hotel is in a great location on the Hip Strip and easily walkable for anyone trying to go out at night.
