We visited this Macedonian restaurant and absolutely loved it! Parking was quite convenient, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. What really stood out was the gorgeous interior design – the place is so beautifully decorated that it feels perfect for dressing up, enjoying a meal, and taking photos. At the end, our server kindly asked if we could write a review (no discount or perks, just a genuine request). But honestly, the experience was so great that we’re more than happy to share how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

THIS IS DELICIOUS! Best Macedonian food in Garfield!! The food tastes authentic, just like home. However, we did have to wait about an hour for our food to arrive. But phenomenal job. From the kebapi to the fries. The meat was juicy and well seasoned :) the fries were hot and crispy, yummy! Would definitely recommend and come here again!!

Wow what a fun place!!! The decor is super fun! You walk in and you’re totally transported to a whole other world filled with fun flowers. The food is super good and fresh. Our sever was so nice and explained everything on the menu and he suggested all the right things! The salad, meats, baked dish and the meat platter for two was enough to feed more than 2 people! The meat platter for two was filled with all sorts of meats that I’ve never tried so it was a fun and unique experience. Everything tasted amazing, the drinks were strong and the service was great!! When you step into this place, you feel like you are definitely in a tropical paradise! The drinks were strong and the server was super friendly. We started out with some really great appetizers, a cheese dip, that came with some crispy pita, yum! & also an appetizer sampler that came with every sauce imaginable, I really appreciated that also onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chicken, wings, and chicken tenders, what a smorgasbord! The grilled chicken sandwich was good as well, my friend ordered the steak. We will definitely be back for the vibes!

I just finished my meal at Deja Vu and I absolutely loved it! First off, the restaurant was stunning with all the flower decorations. Their cocktails were tasty and strong too! Moving into the food. We tried the Deja Vu Shrimp and a salad and both were so good. The shrimp was phenomenal! Then for mains we ordered the Skirt Steak and the Chicken Shish Kebob. The steak was super tender and cooked perfectly. I loved all the veggies that came with the kebob. Definitely check them out if you’re ever in the area!

A great place for a work lunch! Exciting flavors and you can tell that the food is seriously fresh. Sofra for Two was a great intro into this cuisine and you get a little bit of everything. The kebap is SO good. You MUST get the Pastrmajlija!!! Don't sleep on this unique fare, it's something you can't find in every town.

A hidden gem in Garfield, almost felt like stepping into a dream. The patio was super cute with a very whimsical theme. They have a lot of different options. My favorite from their apps is the Dejavu Shrimp almost tasted like a Bang Bang Shrimp and you can never go wrong with the Combo to share. I also really enjoyed their fish dish.

I selected Deja Vu for a Tuesday night dinner with friends. We were seated immediately at around 6:15. The decor is fun, two different vibes. One section is garden inspired and the other section has more of a club feel. Our waiter was friendly and provided great recommendations. (Plus some spicy peppers for us to try, bit much for my palate) We ordered a lot of food. One of my friends really enjoyed the beef soup, the cucumber salad was pretty much sliced cucumbers, the yogurt dip was fresh and tasty, and the Bulgarian salad was a hit with great pieces of feta. The Deja Vu grilled platter for two was outstanding! So much delicious variety of meats! We added a skirt steak that my friend wanted, plus the pork and beef patties in Marsala sauce, and the white bean casserole. The bean and Marsala dishes were excellent! It was a struggle but we finished all of the meat! Definitely look forward to returning!

The atmosphere is very cool. Food was delicious.Service was a bit slow although gave us time to look around( lot to see) I would recommend Deja Vu for a fun dinner out!

I thought restaurants with these vibes were only in NYC until I went here! When you walk in, you'll feel like you've been transported to a fairytale garden! It's the perfect spot for a date or to lounge around and grab some drinks! Sometimes places with pretty aesthetics lack in food quality or taste, but not here!! Everything is incredibly fresh and comes out piping hot! For appetizers I got fried calamari and pastrmajlija (a traditional flatbread)! I really loved both dishes - the quality of the squid was excellent and the flatbread was so flavorful with the olives! For my main dishes, I got the sofra for 2 and shish kebabs - there was so much delicious and tender meat My sweet cocktails, the strawberry margarita and blue hugo, were both vibrant and strong which matched the floral and colorful vibes perfectly! Whether it's vibes, drinks or food, this place surpasses expectations!

I lived in Garfield for a brief stint of time I'm thankful I had Deja Vu around the block! Delicious drinks and unique food options. Unfortunately the location doesn't sit in the most visually appealing area in Garfield/Wallington, however they make yo for it with the interior and the bright and colorful lights. Friendly service and a fun time.

Went here for lunch after it was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! The portions are very large and you can tell everything is prepared fresh and homemade. Relaxing and comfortable environment and although we didn't drink while there, the bar cocktails looked very good. Service was quick and very friendly. We had never been there before so our waiter gave several great recommendations. Would definitely return!

I was super excited to try this restaurant. When I arrived I found parking in their small lot. I walked in, and the restaurant was very nice. I was served by Manuel, and he was great. I started with the lemon drop martini, which was good. I then had the Dejavu Shrimp for appetizers, the Pastrmajlija Chicken, and the Shish Kabob chicken. The food was very tasty, but the shrimp was my absolute favorite! I had a great experience.

A meat lovers dream! Plenty of food at this pretty and smart restaurant. Sit in the pretty 4 season patio or inside at the sophisticated and modern bar/restaurant. The service was prompt and server pleasant and professional, offering up customer favorites and traditional offerings. The portions are plentiful here so if meat is your thing, come hungry! Definitely try the Deja Vu shrimp (not pictured) !

The food and ambiance were spectacular. This was my first experience with Macedonian food. I can't wait to go back and try more things.

Amazing Bulgarian / North Macedonia spot. 1) The best item on the menu is the Sofra mixed grill. Holy lord it is amazing. Several types of Balkan kabobs and Slavic meats of Bulgarian & North Macedonia influence. 2) The decor inside of the place is very interesting. 3) I also liked the Tropical Fanta imported from North Macedonia.

I've passed this place so many times but last night was the night my husband and I made our way in. Boy are we kicking ourselves for waiting so long. we were greeted right away and sat in their newly renovated front area, which is beautifully decorated. we chose to start with the tacos, shrimp and the melted cheese dip. They did not bring them out all at once, which was nice so you got to enjoy each of them equally and let me tell you each of them was better than the next. My favorite appetizer was the cheese dip. Oh my if you are a cheese lover, this is for you. Then we decided to split the plate for two and we had a side of rice and grilled veggies. The meat was all so flavorful, fresh and juicy. Oh, and let's not forget so delicious!!! Was a ton of food and we brought home leftovers and the price point is great! Definitely check this place out highly recommend and can't wait to go back and try some other menu items

If I could give them 0 stars I would but unfortunately I can't. First off we waited 1hr and 10mins to get our food. The waiter was rude and inattentive not sure what nationality they were but we noticed some other patrons that spoke their language who came 30mins after us and got served 20mins after they sat down while we were still waiting. Secondly the food was disgusting we waited all that time to get a bad stomachache from the food and keep in mind they gave very little food quantity. I would highly recommend you stay away from this place unless you want to contract an upset stomach and diarrhea. Seriously not worth it!! Horrible experience!!

The decor is beautiful here! Great array of drinks. The combo app was great for everyone. You also have to try the tacos, so good!

Experience the allure of Balkan cuisine at this aesthetic restaurant. I truly enjoyed the food and I recommend you try the déjà vu, shrimp, and the Uvijachi. This is a great place to go for a date night, out with the girls or even a family dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful.

My nephew's fiancé is from Macedonia I'm sure they would love this place and they live nearby.

The restaurant has an abundance of mixed food options on the menu. The appetizer combo was a huge portion and the chicken wings were probably the best I've had in New Jersey. The shrimp was delicious with a bite of spice that made the lettuce garnish just as delicious. If you're interested in trying something different try the Loveaka dinner. I found it very interesting not having anything like it to compare. I found myself thinking about it several hours afterwards. The decorations in the restaurant are definitely different with flowers and lighting that look like more of a park than a place to eat. The waterfall was a little bit more than expected and spilled onto the border but wasn't a problem. I would recommend trying this one out and picking something you normally wouldn't try it might be a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and not pushy or trying to rush anything and desert was just as good.

What happened to this place!!!Food quality went so down even cevapi does not taste like cevapi!!! I heard new owner take over and must run it to the ground whit food quality!!! Be ready to wait 2 hrs when you order even if is only two people in the entire place!!! Its ridiculous!!! Service is horrible!!! Don't expect typical restaurant service feeling was you are not welcomed there!!! Only one thing was good the fries!!! Lady across the table was not happy that they charged her 20$ gratitude over 100$ bill!!! Why should she pay extra if she is not satisfied whit the service!!!

Went here with friends for my birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. From the moment we walked in literally, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The drinks were on point and the appetizers delicious! The entrees were just as amazing too!! They were nice enough to bring me a piece of this yummy cake at the end which was sweet, pun intended. The place itself was really cute and cozy and I cannot wait to be back.

Went there on a Friday night to get a drink, so went straight to the bar. The bar area was empty but there were people seating outside eating. We ordered a cosmopolitan and apple martini, and both of them were served with ice! This was so disappointing, I don't know if the bartender was new or just didn't know, but when we ordered the next round with another bartender she didn't put any ice. Since it was late we just got an appetizer which was ok, but I would definitely like to go back and try the food.

Great food and drinks and Service! contemporary style with colored lighting. hidden secret is that they have a crêpe menu. Good for families, dates or just a drink at the bar. Not too loud. Paid a visit to Deja Vu with my Macedonian friend, Jugo Z. before his trip to Macedonia. We sat at the bar, and I'm pretty sure the staff and all the patrons (minus myself) were Macedonian. It's a surprisingly nice bar, it even has outdoor seating. I had a few Macedonian beers, and a good amount of food to share. We got the mixed grill, and fries with feta. I notice that they add pork to basically everything. Grilled chicken had bacon, sausages had pork, every meat had some pork. Fries and feta were tasty, I like the dried red peppers they have as a condiment. It was good, but nothing I'd go out of my way for.

Hidden gem. Complimentary bread. We ate in their outside area today. Definitely Recommend the the nafora and the white bean dish. The roasted vegetables were delicious, perfectly seasoned and roasted.

All the Mediterranean food was amazing, as well as the service. Can't wait to get back!!!

GO HERE FOR DRINKS ONLY! I loved my drinks I tried here especially the strawberry lime rose sangria....I will come back for this alone. The food however, just horrible. Apps: Fried feta - good, just like mozzarella sticks but with feta instead, bread with paprika and shredded feta - simple dish but surprisingly good Main: baby back pork ribs - overly salted which ruined the entire meal (good thing I had that delicious sangria to rinse my mouth with), chicken shish kabobs - overcooked, dry and tough to eat, I enjoyed the onions on the skewers Sides (each main comes with a choice of a side) - Rice was good, mashed potatoes were cold and bland Loved that they had a patio, great for nice weather!

The staff is very friendly and cordial, specifically Anya. When I ordered a Piña Colada it came watered down, no coconut milk, no pineapple...in other words horrible Piña Colada, I explained to Anya and she immediately remedied the issue. She made a real Piña Colada, a better than last. For appetizer we had Calamari and it was fantastic! My wife ordered the Homemade Grilled Sausage with yellow rice and vegetables. The sausage was deliciously made, the rice was tender and flavorful, she had a problem with the veggies, she said that it had no flavor and it seems to be from frozen vegetable bags from supermarket. I had the Stuff Pork Chop-stuffed with ham and provolone and covered in mushrooms . I loved my Chop, it was superb, and tender. I also had yellow rice but I had mash potatoes, my mash was cold but tasted good. I would have given Deja Vu 5 out of 5 if the vegetables weren't frozen and my mash was at least warm. But otherwise it was a great experience!

If you want really good/authentic polish food in Bergen county, you head to Wallington. This place is one of the gems of Wallington. The food is terrific but eat outside, the inside is more of a bar atmosphere. It's reasonably priced and the service is great

There are not so many good Macedonian places in New Jersey...But this is the best bu far. Must try!!! I had Veal/Beef soup, shopska salata and mixed grill, and everything was 5*.

We visited Deja Vu for an early dinner following a message their terrace opened. The terrace is an open part of the restaurant and is built out with ceiling fans and sturdy chairs and tables which makes the experience much better than other places. They are using regular cutlery and plates so it's a real great experience compared to other places that opened with plastic knives, forks and plates. For appetizers we ordered the Mezze, Tarator and Shopska Salad. The Mezze was a bit underwhelming and certainly not worth the prices. The cheeses were pretty bland as were the cold cuts. On the flip site - the Tarator and Shopska were great. The Tarator was thicker than what I'm used to, but was very good and refreshing in the heat. The shopska was very refreshing and well seasoned. Both are highly recommended. For entrees we ordered the Kebabchi, skirt steak and Uspici. The skirt steak was a generous portion and was cooked well. The kebabchi were dry and not too flavorful and were a disappointment. Next time I'll opt for something else. The uspici benefitted from the sauce (it's a must and costs an extra $1 but well worth it). Finally for dessert we got a crepe which is the only locally made dessert. It was ok. The one annoyance was smoking by other patrons. There were multiple smokers and since it's an outside terrace we had to endure. Service was nice but not super attentive. All in all - if the place were non smoking I would definitely return, otherwise, it's a toss up. 3.5 stars would be 4.5 without the smoke.

This place has TVs outside and good to watch Soccer games. The seltzer water tasted a little weird and I had to send one drink back because it also tasted weird. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.

You ever have that craving for some amazing and authentic Balkan Peninsula cuisine? Well I do and thankfully I work with someone that led me to a gem in Garfield, NJ. The place is called Deja Vu. And like the French word itself, my first visit to this restaurant felt like I had already been here before. Part of that was the welcoming embrace that the owner of the place extended to my friends and me. It felt as if I had known this man for so long. He talked with us, shared what the dishes were, and overall made me feel so right at home I did not want to leave. Dmitry is the owner of this establishment but he might as well be a long-lost uncle. He really knows how to make guests feel like a family and that by itself is worth more than any five stars in my book. Alas that is not the only thing this restaurant has going for it. I will now proceed to describe the amazing meal that I experienced at Deja Vu--one that I hope to experience over and over again. Let me start with the appetizer and salad. A meal that begins with a salad that can stand as a main course is a great start any way you look at it. The DejaVu Salad "Shopska Salata" is an amalgamation of some fresh ingredients that include tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, olive oil, salt, and Bulgarian feta cheese. The definition of fresh and refreshing to the palate is highlighted by this dish. One of the best salads I've had. As if playing the younger, but still as talented sibling to the salad, was the "Nafora" appetizer. This dish consists of toasted bread, red paprika and feta cheese. The earthy flavor accentuated by the paprika made this dish a perfect counterpoint to the salad we had. For the entrée my friends shared the Deja Vu Special which is basically a heaping pile of assorted meats, French fries, and you guessed it more feta cheese. As for me I opted for the grilled salmon fillet served with baked potato. The salmon was fresh and smoky and the herb-infused olive oil dressing to the side made it even more special. A perfect combination of flavor, consistency, and delivery made the meal amazing. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The décor is modern and so is the ambience. The bar area is separated from the sit-down area to accommodate those that want to drink and socialize with those that want a more traditional dinner setting. In the summer months I definitely can imagine the outdoor patio to be a great hangout destination. Overall my visit left an impression. I can't wait to make a return visit and have that feeling of déjà vu once again.

Really good Balkan food. If you like grilled meats This Place is for you. The service was top notch as well. We got the mixed grill platter it could feed 3 people. The salads are awesome as well.

The wings were greasy and I order a burger and it wasn't cooked it was pink and the meat was still hard and tough and I orderEd well done and then I ask for and refund and the denied so I left no tip and they loss A first time customer and I wonder y the place was empty and I will never step into that place again me being a business owner I would at lease not charge for the spec deja vu burger that make me sick to my stomach and this wouldn't be an issue I ate not even a quarter of this meal

I love this place ! The food is constantly good and very generous. The service is always friendly. The best part is the outdoor patio, romantic lighting and great aromatic coffee. I mean can anyone ask for more ?

I gave this one store for the wait staff were friendly. But the service was incredibly slow for a bar type restaurant. Not being familiar with belkin food, we ended up selecting chicken shish kebab... How bad could that be?... And another dish which consisted of a large ground chicken burger with provolone in the middle. We just asked for water and I also ordered a Diet Coke. We had to wait 35-40 minutes for the food to come and when it finally did, it was incredibly disappointing. The chicken shish kebab was so tough and dried, you could hardly cut it. It was a companied by frozen mixed vegetables. In the end, we couldn't even eat the shish kebab and asked our waitress if there was some sauce to go with this. She didn't understand what we were saying and eventually called over another waitress who looked at us strangely and then said, how about some mushroom sauce? We said OK and another 20 minutes elapsed before the mushroom sauce arrived. It was OK, but a bit salty. In the end, nothing could rescue that tragically dried out and tough chicken shish kebab. We ended up leaving it As for the ground chicken burger with the cheese in the middle accompanied by what appeared to be frozen french fries, at least we had a chance of being able to cut into it. But that also had a strange taste and I ended up picking out small pieces of ground up bone. Finally, instead of bringing us two glasses of water, they brought two plastic containers of water. The Diet Coke I ordered came in a miniature 8 ounce bottle. We were charged for the water and the baby bottle of Coke and also charged $2.50 for the mushroom sauce that was supposed to remedy the dry tough shish kebab. As I mentioned upfront, The waitresses were very nice and that was the only thing good I could say about this restaurant.

This was our second time in this Balkan restaurant. The food and service was excellent, no complaints there. As a matter of fact I would have rated it five stars. My husband and I each had ordered the Kebapi (spicy minced meat in sausage shape) which comes with french fries. For health reasons, we cannot eat too many carbs and asked if we can get salad in lieu of the fries. The server had told us yes. When the check came, we were surprised that we were charged $4.50 for one small tomato salad on top of the full price for the two (2) platters of Kebapi ($11.00 per platter). I made a comment to the server that I thought the platters would be cheaper since we did not have the fries, but she just looked at me and shrugged it off. The extra $4.50 that we were charged for the salad will not make us any richer. Perhaps I am knit picking, but in my opinion, I don't think this is good customer service that we were charged extra for the small salad.

I came here with my friends and dimi was rude from the start. I showed her my coupon for the free crepe, and she was the " the free one " She saw my phone with the coupon btw. I also asked for bananas on the crepe which was stated in the menu, and there was no bananas. Food wasn't good and the salad has so much salt. The pitcher of sangria was 36 dollars , which I didn't even see in the menu. I'm surprised this place has so much stars. Not one smile or anything. Rude and uninviting. Wish I choose a different place with better service.

Very clean place. Nice pool table. Staff very friendly. Doesn't seem very busy on wednesdays but it is a weekday after all.

Last night I discovered this wacky dive bar slash Bulgarian restaurant tucked between auto-body shops in an unlikely stretch of North Jersey near Teterboro Airport (and Garden State Rollergirls Arena LLC). When we walked in, I thought they'd pull the needle right off the record (or hit pause on Pandora or whatever). But we were left in peace to have a few drinks and peruse the menu: a mix of American and Bulgarian/Macedonian classics. Looks like your usual windowless bar to visit and knock some heads together, but they do indeed make food, from jalapeno poppers to grilled homemade sausages (domasni kolbasi na skara). The BF had the chicken sammich, which was giant, and on a big baguette, but apparently it was too dry. My Bulgarian salad was fascinating; very unusual, I've never seen the likes of it: chopped boiled egg, sauteed mushrooms, feta, red onions, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumber, tomato--no lettuce. Tavce Gravce (kidney beans cooked in an earth clay pot!) looked intriguing but my stomach wasn't brave enough right then. A very odd find indeed, but I'm glad we did.

Came here this past Saturday with my boyfriend and a few friends. Prior to here I had never had Balkan cuisine before. The food was so delicious and so much food comes on the plate which makes it even better. My boyfriend got the "Lovechka" and I got the "Chicken Rossini". The dessert was perfection, banana Nutella crepes. I'm such a sucker for anything with Nutella. We stayed for the live music which gave the place a great ambiance of Eastern European culture. The crowd was in great spirits. My boyfriend and I just had a really great time. From the service to the food to drinks, everything was great !

They have outside place to chill. The waitresses are extremely nice and helpful! My first place here and love it! And they offer free crepe for your first check-in. And you can save it for later!!! Very nice place:))

The girls are all amazing, though the food - it really depends who is cooking in the kitchen, sometimes can be bad - uncooked, over cooked or no taste at all... But it's a good place
