They are all serving a good job! They try to help us get cool pants with great attention to details. They alter jeans on the spot. Brunswick brand! I love it!

Google
Dejour Denim provides a fantastic service for finding and customizing jeans. I picked out two wide-leg pairs—one deep black and one indigo—and had both tailored perfectly while I waited. At just $75 per pair, including alterations, the value and quality were exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone looking for personalized denim.

I just dont know what's happened with the quality that used to exist with Dejour jeans, but it's simply not there anymore. The attached photo shows two pairs of black Dejour jeans, with the bottom being solely for colour reference. The top pair are nearly 2yrs old, and the colour fade on them is horrible. They're basically now a gross brownie-red, and completely unsuitable for wearing. Now, I understand black jeans fade, thats fine. But in the past, I have had multiple pairs for Dejour jeans that have stayed colour-fast for far far longer than these. In reality, these jeans began fading within a couple months of ownership. In light of this, I am now sourcing jeans from an alternate supplier.

Google
Excellent service and quality, I recently purchased a second pair of jeans from here, and requested small imperfections on my first pair (bought about a year ago) to be fixed and a slight alteration to be made. The owner was so attentive in ensuring they fit exactly how I needed them to, and the imperfections were fixed perfectly. It's hard to come across quality and service like this these days! I'm very grateful and will definitely be returning for more.

We travelled from Brisbane to come here! Fantastic jeans, so many styles to try on and all alterations included in the price. Alterations are done within an hour and they are happy to re-alter if you aren’t happy. I’m super pleased with my jeans and happy to pay $65 for some that fit exactly how I want :)

Google
Been a fan for 15 years. With low prices, free tailoring and repairs, and friendly staff it's a local institution. Have recommended them to several people interstate who asked about my pants. Denim supply quality fluctuates a bit year to year (and colour to colour) but overall they are a unique piece of Brunswick and I hope they never shut.

Google
Went to this store after hearing great things. Bought black jeans last minute, and they adjusted them right away, which was great! But after trying them on, my hands and light suede sneakers were stained black. When I mentioned it, staff didn’t take me seriously and told me to just wash them at home. I showed my hands and said I wasn’t happy, but they didn’t really acknowledge it. Also overheard the staff gossiping about another customer—felt unprofessional. I left feeling uncomfortable. Washed the jeans at home—now my washing machine and other clothes are stained too. Please buy your pants somewhere else! Terrible experience

Callum Joshua

Google
We love this shop. Staff were so helpful. There are so many styles and colours to choose from, we left with three pairs. Alterations were done in under an hour! Very happy!

Yelp
A must visit while in Melbourne. If I lived in Melbourne, I would only purchase my jeans from Dejour. Here's how it works - you pick out the style and color of jean you want. They measure you. They tailor the jeans. You come back in 2 hours. They're ready. Oh, and the prices are really freaking good. I've never seen anyplace like it. I can't wait to go back, honestly.

Yelp
At this point in my life I quite literally don't own a pair of pants that is not from Dejour. That's right, I would be PANTLESS if it weren't for these rascals. The jeans come in low-rise, mid and high-rise and boy do the staff have you pegged when you walk in. Overheard: "Oh, you're from Fitzroy? You need black, skinny high-rise." I have that very pair along with the exact same cut in a classic denim and a light blue. The clever staff will tailor the pants to your exact fit and, depending on the day/time, they will be ready in around 30 minutes. They also have shorts for when you need a nice pair in the warmer months. Be warned: these jeans do stretch so perhaps go a size down if you want 'em tight! I can only recommend you go to Dejour on a weekday as the lines on a Saturday will make you weep. If you've been considering a sickie, you now have an extra reason to chuck it.

Yelp
I'd been hearing about this place and their famed sub-$50 jeans for a while and really didn't believe the hype. I'm now more than happy to report every amazing thing I'd heard about this place was true and I'm now the proud owner/wearer of two pairs (and subsequently my new two favourite pairs) of jeans. They just do jeans (unlike Just Jeans strangely), nothing else. They therefore know their shit. They make them on site and the bloke and lady who make them will also sell them to you. It was funny, mine fit perfect first time (though they did need to take them up, which they did for free on the spot), but my gf was having trouble. Enter the Dejour guy. He made her go for the smaller size, insisting the denim would stretch and soften to her arse. He then told her how amazing they looked (which they did) and told her she looked like a teenager again (which she did). He just knew what she needed, and he forced her to let go of any size preconceptions and boldly try for some hot fitting jeans that she now loves so much, she's going back to buy more next weekend. And they're only $40! $40. Do it before you're dead.

Yelp
Located on Sydney Road in Brunswick, you could be forgiven for walking past Dejour Jeans and not giving it a second look. But you would have missed out on some pretty killer jeans. It's another place definitely in the hidden gem category. I find jean shopping to be an absolute bitch. I don't consider myself to have an abnormal body shape but wherever I go I'll have to try on about ten pairs of jeans before I get one that fits. And even then I'm not sure if I like them. In Dejour however, I tried on three different pairs of jeans and every single pair fitted like a glove. At $40 each I was tempted to buy all three but ended up just plumping for two of the pairs. The Vietnamese guy who runs the store - who is a really easy-going and fun character - even shortened the legs slightly for me so they fit perfect. I've pointed friends in the direction of Dejour since and they say just how amazing the jeans fit too. The guy also has the latest fashions, cuts and colours in as he pretty much conducts market research on you as you get tailored. I challenge you to go here and not come back with at least one pair!

Yelp
I am a convert to Dejour jeans. Having driven past many many times, I contemplate going in all the time. Mainly I change my mind because of the queue, or feeling unsure about what actually happens in this institution of denim wear. I finally decided to stand the queue and join the forces of many others seeking the perfect fit jeans. And it paid off big time! I picked up 2 pairs and after a few days wear, I am already planning my next trip for more! My tip 1. Come in on a weekday. Mid or early morning is best as queue is shorter and moves faster. Your jeans will take about an hour so you can grab a coffee or brunch when you wait 2. Choose material and colour. Measurements can be adjusted but colour and material can't. They also have 'summer' slim which is lighter jeans fabric for summer. 3. You can choose your top 3 choices to take to the change room. The friendly and helpful staff here are very prompt to help and advise. They told me that each jeans will stretch about half a size, so go lower. 4. They will also help you to grab another size if needed and will mark where you want your jeans altered. 5. Don't lose your pink slip. I see the sign all over the shop. You can try your jeans when you pick them up again. Most parking around is hourly, but you will probably be out and finish by then. Prizes vary from about $45-55 a pair. Bargain!

Yelp
After reading all the highly regarded comments I thought that Dejour jeans would be the perfect store for my next pair. How wrong I was. I fit a size 12 jeans and have muscular legs, I ended up having to try on a size 18 to fit my legs and even then the jeans didn't look as though they fit. I went during a weekday when it wasn't busy, as soon as I entered the store I felt neglected and ignored by staff. There were at least 5 staff standing around the central table talking about nonsense ignoring the customers around them. After I tried on about 4 pairs of jeans a girl finally asked if I needed any help seemingly out of obligation. I ended up leaving the store incredibly disappointed after the hype about the jeans and "friendly" staff.

Yelp
As a man with NO fashion sense, I was taken here by someone 'In the know', and now that I've found it I plan on 'pimpin' out my wardrobe, which is completely achievable. My jeans cost $50 and had hems taken up on the spot. The gentleman that served me was brilliant, knew his stuff and was genuinely interested in making sure you were happy. He called a spade a spade, and if a pair looked crap on you, or the colour you chose was wrong, he would let you know. The jeans themselves are made on site and are really good quality in my opinion. Guess Ill test them out on few hiking expedition and see how they fare

Yelp
Last time I was back in the states I spent interminable hours in the Levi's store in SF purchasing jeans to haul back to Australia with me. I'm happy to say that the next time I go home I'll have more time to hang with my family and drink cheap beer (respectively of course). Why buy stateside when you can get awesome jeans tailored to fit for 50 bucks right here in Oz? Like several other reviewers I have long struggled to find jeans that fit me. I'm short (4'11) and fairly curvy so if it fits in the leg it's too small in the hips and vice versa. The woman who fitted me at Dejour knew instantly what I wanted. I basically told her my life-long jeans conundrum and she quickly chalked some marks on the pants and told me to come back in an hour. The communication between us was so fleeting that I was a bit apprehensive that the pants wouldn't turn out that well. I like the legs super tight and cropped above the ankle and I wasn't sure I had conveyed that clearly enough. 60 minutes and one crappy coffee later I returned to Dejour to pick up my jeans. The fit was suberb. The legs were snug like I like em but there was just enough room in the waist. They weren't as short as i wanted and the tailor (Nam I think) happily took them back and did a quick trim at the ankle. I was so pleased that I bought another pair on the spot. What else? -For women, jeans come in high-waisted, mid-waisted, and low-waisted. -For men, it's skinny leg or regular. -Colours available on the day of my visit included forest green, mustard, brown, khaki, maroon, black, burnt orange, dark blue, and light blue. -It was packed on a Tuesday mid-afternoon so I recommend going first thing on a weekday morning if possible. -Closed on Sunday, contrary to the information I found on the internet. -They have amazing looking shorts priced at 45 dollars. They come in mid-waist and high waist. I'll be back come springtime for some of those babies. For sure.

Yelp
Pros: the fact that I can get tailor made jeans for my 5" curvy figure is amazing. They make sure they fit perfectly before you leave and are genuinely interested in making the fit right. The fact that they only cost $50 is just an added bonus! I can't speak highly enough of this place. Cons: (but hardly cons) There is no air con in the store so trying lots of pairs on can make you a little flustered! You have to go on the right days if there is a particular pair of jeans that you would like, blue jeans in the popular sizes were hard to find. And finally, they are a small fit! I'm a size 10/12 normally and I had to buy a size 14 (which really hurt my ego) I'd say only go here if you are a 12 or under or a straight up and down 14 The boys jeans on the other hand, seem more true to size, my partner is a 32 and got a 32

Yelp
Do you want tailor-made jeans? Do you want to pay less than $200 for tailor-made jeans? Are you unsure at all about the cut, size, or waist-height of your jeans? Do you enjoy lining up? Yes? Well then, by golly, is Dejour the place for you! At $50 a pop, these jeans are good quality and tailored to your body on the spot (give or take an hour if they're busy, which they ALWAYS are). The exterior makes the place look like a hole, and the interior doesn't look much better - piles upon piles of jeans of all colours, separated into sizes. I wouldn't want to go on a hot day, as there doesn't seem to be any air conditioning in the store, and it's always packed. The service was good - women of all shapes and sizes (which, speaking as a female with low self esteem, MATTERS) providing advice and making suggestions for alterations. Speaking to fellow body-troubled peeps out there - sometimes you have to size up with these jeans, especially the blue denim. IT'S NOT YOU - IT'S THE JEANS. I promise. I know, I know... jean shopping can be traumatic... Dejour makes it slightly easier.

Yelp
I only visited this store because of the crazy good reviews on Yelp. I am happy to report the following: 1. mens and women's jeans for $40 2. expect extremely honest commentary from the staff. This is not a beautiful boutique so don't go here if you want to be flattered. That said, once you're finally told the pair you have on are good, they freaking mean it. 3. Yes, you're paying $40 for a pair of jeans, but I reckon I'd be willing to pay that for the comedy routine that ensues when a language barrier is involved and there's a guy refusing to sell someone a pair of jeans because they don't look good enough. 4. The fabric isn't that crash hot. 5. They're $40. Now, I know they're made locally, but given I work in the industry logic tells me someone in the manufacturing process isn't getting paid much. All that said, denim isn't an aint-going-anywhere staple of society. If you get what you want and you love it until it dies, that's sort of what matters.

Yelp
Finally got around to going to Dejour Jeans with my mum, who is notoriously hard to find jeans for. We went on a Wednesday morning (around 10) and the place was already hopping. We had no idea where to start, but one of the lovely girls explained the "process" to us, and off we went. In a nutshell, you select 3-4 pairs of standard cut jeans or cords off the walls, get in the queue, try them on, have them marked up, and return once the alterations are done. It can be a bit intimidating on the first go, especially since you have no idea what size you are or cuts you want. A few tips... 1) their sizes run small, so until you know your size grab a couple pairs; or 2) bring a buddy who can swap sizes for you. (The girls are happy to help, but they do get busy); women's on the left in the store, and mens are on the right; 4) they take cash and card, and finally 5) if you are coming in for an alteration - make sure your jeans are freshly washed (and not on you). I must have heard them say this to at least 4 people in the 45 minutes we were there. Mum is super happy with her pants, and may go back to get a couple more pairs before she goes home. I will definitely be back to get my own pair in the near future.

Yelp
I find it quite difficult to buy jeans. Nothing ever seems to fit right. The jeans are always overpriced. I don't like going shopping for clothes in general. I tend to wear a single pair of jeans until they inevitably form a hole in the crotch in the exact same place as the last pair did. I was first recommended Dejour Jeans by a friend and also read some of the reviews on Yelp. These reviews are pretty spot on. I will never need to shop at another place for jeans as long as Dejour are open. All the jeans are hand made by a kindly fellow called Nam from good quality Australian made denim. Personal tailoring comes as a default service in the price of the jeans. The shop is is run by Nam and his wife, who took a quick look at me and handed me a pair of jeans (black skinny leg) that fit perfectly the first time. The jeans I bought were $53. There were some cheaper and some slightly more expensive variations, but nothing pricey, which seems plain crazy for the quality of pant and service provided.

Matt A.

Yelp
This place is actually INSANE! Well made jeans in really good cuts that are tailored to your body, on the spot, for $40 - total. The guy who runs this place is obviously a really well trained tailer who has a great eye for proportions and knows what looks good on people's bodies. I went in to Dejour with a clear idea of what I wanted, but after discussing this with the guy who runs the store, I took his advise and ended out with a pair of jeans that are way better than what I had originally wanted. Surely it can't be long until the secret gets out and the owners realise that they could charge $100 a pop and still be swamped with business.

Yelp
Only one word for this place: AMAZING. Ever since someone decided that it was ok to sell jeans for $200 plus, I've been seriously struggling to find a pair worthy of splurging for. It's just way too hard to justify that sort of spending when you're on a budget, only to find that after a few washes your designer denim has stretched by two sizes or shrunk in the wash. Knock a zero off the pice tag and you've got yourself a pair Dejour jeans. This type of pricing leaves Cheap Monday for dead, this store is an absolute revelation!
google avatar

Susan R.

Yelp
Staff are rude, so rude. I bought a pair of jeans a couple of months ago and they never really fitted me properly despite being tailored to fit me...so I have never been able to wear them out. Today I drove 40 minutes from the other side of town, on the only weekday I'll probably have off all year, for the staff to tell me it's store policy to not re-alter jeans if they haven't been washed and that there was nothing they could do. Why would I wash jeans that I have never been able to wear????? Unbelievable. I will never go back.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Great selection with helpful staff and prompt turn around on alterations. I will be definitely coming back for more!

Yelp
Exceptional jeans and unbelievable prices. Long lasting, comfortable, and tailored for you. What more is there to say?

Steph E.

Yelp
I was SO hopeful after reading everyone's reviews on how great this place is. As many people have mentioned, it can be really difficult to find a pair of jeans that fits your body shape, so I was so looking forward to going to Dejour. The service was pretty poor. It seems they have employed a group of girls as sales assistants and to help customers with trying on jeans and getting them the right fit, etc. The store was empty of other customers when I arrived and I walked around for a couple of minutes looking at the jeans. After no one came to ask if I needed help, I approached the group of 5 girls that were standing in a circle in one corner of the store and asked if they were also waiting for assistance, which was when they mentioned that they worked there. When I mentioned to the girls that I was looking for a pair of black jeans with either boot cut or flare leg I was told that they only do skinny leg or straight leg, so they couldn't help me and that's where the service ended. I was SO disappointed that they only make 2 styles of jeans.....so my journey to find a good pair of jeans that fit and suits my body shape continues....

Yelp
Called in here, on word of mouth, while in Melbourne working. Was a great experience, no lines, although I was in early and they were forming as I left, the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Chose my jeans, was measured up and went and had a coffee while they were altered. They are the best fitting/looking jeans I have ever had and less than a third of the price of the designer stuff. Wish I had known about this place years ago.

C B.

Yelp
What an awful experience. One day I will return in the hope that the staff are helpful and friendly.
