I can not say enough good things about this place. It is an amazing hidden gem.
Family owned and operated, this place you can tell has every detailed tailor made with love. Everything down to the intimate atmosphere, to the cheery staff, to the amazingly curated food and ingredients, everything is well thought and handled with experience and care and made fresh!
The meat here is so unbelievably tender, and well seasoned so every bite is a delicious journey! The sauces! If you’ve read any have read any of my other reviews you know that I absolutely LOVE my sauces and the ones they have here have to be in house made because they are PERFECTION.
Delicious in house made horchata too! With amazing cheese on the dishes!
I could go on and on. PLEASE try this place out guys!

I hope this place doesn’t get too popular, because I want to keep coming back and don’t want a long wait! Very small restaurant but very authentic Mexican food.
I got the Chicken Enchilada Suisas with rice and refried beans on the side. The enchilada sauce was super flavorful and creamy. I cleaned my plate, I would order it again! My wife ordered 3 tacos, 2 cheesy Al Pastor tacos and 1 cheesy carne asada. The three tacos were loaded and big. Very filling and really good! This is a very underrated Mexican restaurant. Will be back!

Easily the best Mexican food I've ever had. The fajitas were top tier, and the tacos were also incredible. Both my brothers served LDS missions in Mexico, plus my father in Peru, and they all agreed it was also the best they've ever had. We're all hoping it doesn't get too popular... Can't recommend it enough, though!

We enjoyed al pastor tacos stuffed full of amazing meat, the chicken tacos were good too. I had cheese on the chicken tacos and for me it was a little too much.
Our server was amazing and very kind. I would go again, my father in law enjoyed the enchiladas, and said they were the best.

Del Barrio Cafe was incredible delicious. I got the Cheesy Asada Tacos and loved them. It comes with three tacos. They are expensive but yummy. This is a sit down restaurant with a server. They provided complimentary chips and salsa. I felt the chips were too thick and hard and the salsa was like soup. They have very limited parking available so be prepared to park far away and walk.

Let's start with the food, the real reason you go here. Delicious authentic and so freshly made. Love the tinga taco's and the small bowl of Verde chicken passole make a great dinner with awesome leftovers. Pair them with a ginger lemonade and bam dinner is done. The place is small and the parking is what makes this 4 stars also no real wait area to speak of. We go for the food, the food and the food. Side note mango burrito is so tasty when you want that fruity and meaty combination.

This might be my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake, though it's a close call between this and La Casa Del Tamal. We like it even better than Red Iguana yet it's not as expensive as Red Iguana.
The quality is great and there are lots of vegetarian and vegan options.
Favorite dishes of ours are the Birria tacos and the Baja fish tacos. I like the Birria enchiladas too but the Mango Enmoladas are even better.
The only two things I wasn't impressed with were the rice and beans. They're not bad at all, just mediocre compared to everything else we have eaten here.
The horchata is the best I've ever had! And the Habanero lemonade and the Mojito lemonade are both delicious, though I think I would like them even better as limeade.
The flan here is good too but not any more amazing than elsewhere. I'd like to try the tres leches cake next time to see how it compares to other restaurants.
We also got Carlos' Macho Nachos without sour cream and they were so good. The only thing I would add to improve it would be a little cotija cheese, and maybe some kind of spicy sauce too.
This restaurant is small in a cozy way and always busy but we have never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes. It's perfectly clean, including the bathrooms.
Be aware that parking is limited but we haven't had too much difficulty finding a spot.

I don’t know if I could come back for tacos in particular because I prefer street taco style, but this place was definitely an experience. If I come back, I would try something different—like the burrito. We only got tacos: birria and cheesy carne asada. I would recommend the carne asada but probably not the cheesy version. Unless you really like cheese, then these two tacos are for you. I preferred the carne asada because it came with pico and guac and the combination of those with the tacos was great. Again both were just filled with so much cheese it felt very overpowering. They were very filling as well. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the salsa was good aside from how soupy it was. The refried beans were a no go for me. Not good. The rice was great though. Service was good. It was really busy and we had to wait because it just seems like there is not much seating but definitely recommend if you like what I described above.
