Del Coco Beach

One of my favorite beaches in Costa Rica for a romantic walk at sunset or a drink by the water overlooking the crashing waves. I plan to be back annually!!

Nice black sand beach, very scenic with beautiful sunsets. You have many restaurants and bars in the south part, but it's a bit too busy, so we linked the north part much better. It's in the protected bay so the water is very calm and it's shallow and good for the kids. There is also a nice restaurant at the north end of the beach, we didn't eat there but tried their martinis - they were quite good.

A beautiful unspoiled natural beach. Takes about 30 minutes to walk end to end with downtown Playas del Coco and those amenities to the south end. Sand is very fine and volcanic. The water, in January, was almost too warm hahaha. Note: There are signs warning of the undertow and depending on the tide the waves can occasionally be quite high. With awareness, this is a lovely beach to swim, stroll and sun.

Nice little beach town with an amazing bay. Super friendly people. We went on a boat tour of the area. The water was smooth and the tour guides were awesome. They provided us this music, beverages, fishing, whale watching and some site seeing. We stopped for lunch on the beach.

Ok beach with black sand and lots of going on. Lots of local vendors selling crafts and food. The walkway area is Very busy, with laud music and bands playing at the restaurants. The main street that leads to the beach is very busy , old ! everything looks like the time stoped there 50 years ago. But the atmosphere and the people make up for it. Traffic is crazy!! Have your eyes around your head as motorcycles are everywhere . 5 stars for the atmosphere. 3 stars for the beach Stray dogs and cats are walking around.

This is a great boating town. With a classic feel. It’s where I always go to take the boats to the Witches Rock.

Best kept secret in Costa Rica. Not flooded with tourists. Lots of amenities and terrific places to eat.

Nice place to stay at. Good reefs close to the beach and very good diving centers (Summer Salt Divers). Also in the evening it doesn‘t give you a touristic touch but things a kept fairly local.
