"Scuba Diving at Playa del Coco If you are a diver, or have always wanted to take scuba lessons, Playa del Coco is a great jumping-off point for exploring the deep blue. Visibility may not be as good as in the Caribbean, but the area makes up for it with the rich and varied marine life you're likely to encounter. Three well-regarded diving outfitters in Playa del Coco are Deep Blue Diving, Rich Coast Diving, and Summer Salt."
I wasn’t a big fan of Playa del Coco Beach. Compared to other beaches in Costa Rica, I didn’t find it as scenic or appealing. The area felt very touristy and a bit crowded for my taste.
That said, if you’re looking for a lively beach town with plenty of restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, Playa del Coco definitely has that to offer.

Coco Beach is a great local beach with silky black sand. There are plenty of activities and many local vendors offering some rare finds Pura Vida!

Just book your ticket to Coco. You won't regret it. Absolute paradise of a town with the most relaxing vibe and beautiful beach.

Nice black sand beach, very scenic with beautiful sunsets. You have many restaurants and bars in the south part, but it's a bit too busy, so we linked the north part much better. It's in the protected bay so the water is very calm and it's shallow and good for the kids. There is also a nice restaurant at the north end of the beach, we didn't eat there but tried their martinis - they were quite good.

One of my favorite beaches in Costa Rica for a romantic walk at sunset or a drink by the water overlooking the crashing waves. I plan to be back annually!!

Nice beach area with outdoors shower. Many small restaurants on Main Street and tourist traps shops. As soon as we parked we got hassled for money for parking. It was not an official person, but random guy. Clearly free street parking. My husband was concerned if we don’t pay we will get slashed tires and he gave hustler $5 cash. This ruined our experience at this beach. We got a smoothies at Johann’s Bistro. They were good.

Nice little beach town with an amazing bay. Super friendly people. We went on a boat tour of the area. The water was smooth and the tour guides were awesome. They provided us this music, beverages, fishing, whale watching and some site seeing. We stopped for lunch on the beach.

Ok beach with black sand and lots of going on. Lots of local vendors selling crafts and food. The walkway area is Very busy, with laud music and bands playing at the restaurants. The main street that leads to the beach is very busy , old ! everything looks like the time stoped there 50 years ago. But the atmosphere and the people make up for it. Traffic is crazy!! Have your eyes around your head as motorcycles are everywhere .
5 stars for the atmosphere.
3 stars for the beach
