I stayed at the Del Marcos one night with my seven year old son and it was a lovely stay. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and our room had nice furniture and a comfortable bed. Keep in mind that this a renovated 1940s motel, and it still has a “motel” feel to it, although much of it has been nicely renovated. They offer a complimentary breakfast in the lobby (coffee/tea, bagels, toast, store-bought muffins, whole fruit, granola, yogurt). The pool wasn’t heated, but they allowed us to use the heated pool and jacuzzi at their sister property across the street. The location is excellent - a 5 minute walk to Downtown Palm Springs shops & restaurants. I only gave it 4 stars because the rate we paid ($900/night) was more than double what it was worth, in my opinion. At $450/night (or less), I would have given it 5 stars. Granted, I booked the last room during one of Palm Springs’ busiest weekend (Coachella), so I can’t fault them for charging what they could. Thank you, Del Marcos, for a wonderful stay!

We love the Del Marcos! Been here many times. What do we love? First and foremost - Adults ONLY. Yep... Yaaaay! Much more "Hollywood Elusive Getaway" than Hedonistic Decadence. 😂 You can be as private or as approachable as YOU want. The rooms - each one is unique! Built in 1947 with mid - century makeover flair. The artistry is each room deserves a visit in and of itself. The pool - quiet, peaceful, beautiful mountain view, sparkling clean. The folks - friendly, personable and aim to please. Need something? They are only a text away! I love this, too. No need to leave Poolside or your room to ask for extras. The location - walkability is 100%. Very cool restaurant next door at the sister property. Bevmo directly across the street. And with kitchenettes in most of the rooms, you can BYOB at the pool OR order drinks (and food) from next door. We will be back again for certain! Del Marcos is our absolute favorite Palm Springs getaway! 🌴🌞🏊

This is a really lovely hotel. I'd rate it more as an upscale motel in terms of vibes and amenities, but the decor and rooms are really cute, mid-century modern. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Beds are lovely The pool is wonderful, warm, relaxing, and it was very quiet the whole time we were there, which included a weekend. This is a perfect spot to just sit by the pool reading and catching some sun. The hotel is just a block off the main drag of downtown, which meant that all the shops and restaurants were easy walking distance. Even though the hotel is basically in the heart of downtown, it was mostly very quiet. The occasional car noise or rowdy carload of people having a good time, but this was the exception not the rule. The hotel does have thin walls and ceilings. We were in the Albert Frey room, which is under the stairs, and it sounded like elephants anytime folks were going up and down the stairs. But, this was a minor inconvenience. Our room also had a lot of room, a private patio, and a decent size kitchenette. ||The hotel is next door to the La Serena Villas (and seemed to share a check-in area) and the restaurant Azucar (very overpriced for what it is). We did have breakfast by the pool at La Serena Villas and accidentally lay out by that pool in their lounge chairs. We were told that Del Marcos guests were not actually allowed to do that (very graciously), and that was the only slightly sour note. It seems like the staff are shared between both, we had to check in at that lobby, we were welcome at the restaurant, etc. Letting guests use both pools just makes more sense and is more inclusive. La Serena Villas is more upscale and fancier than Del Marcos though. ||If you want a super chill vibe, great pool, and easy access to downtown, this is the place for you! We will definitely be back.

We booked here last minute and it was such a pleasant surprise how great it was. Upon check in we were greeted with sparkling wine. Front desk staff was so nice and we got a lot of recommendations. The room was amazing with a Mountain View on the balcony. Loved the vintage vibe! Definitely would return. Location was perfect.

Google
More tempting to leave a 3 star but.....great staff, some of the best service and hospitality i've come across in a very long time. 10/10 customer service, front desk guys, woman, maintenance woman, all 10/10. My only issue was how dirty the room was. I wont go into detail because they addressed most of it immediately, as in under 10 minutes they had people there, but still...please take a MOP to the floors. There were so many blotches of who knows what everywhere throughout the floors. Hairs just everywhere you stepped. Why is the floor sticky dude? Hard to rebook again because just changing the sheets and towels is not all that should be done for preparing a room for the next guest.

Extremely disappointed with our stay. Paid for superior king rooms (pool front) months prior to our visit only to be told on arrival that there were no king rooms left at all. We were put into a small and very old room under a staircase with a very tiny and extremely outdated old bathroom. We were told by staff that they would waive our parking fee (which they did) and reimburse the difference between which room we had paid for and what we stayed in - this never happened despite also speaking with the sister hotel next door, numerous phone calls, emails and contact by our travel agent, all of which were ignored. ||Would not recommend this place to any future travelers.

We had visited here a few years ago and had a good experience. After seeing some really negative recent reviews, we were concerned. I guess everybody has an opinion but...Our room was awesome and clean, the staff was friendly, the little breakfast items were fine, pool was warm and clean. Location is excellent. They were getting ready for Modernism week and had a really pretty light show on the building. We usually don't leave reviews but in our opinion this place is even better than before. Price is right on the money for condition and location. There are better places but you will pay more and/or sacrifice location. You also gotta love the historic Mid Century vibe!

Just stayed 3 nights at the Del Marcos and loved it. We booked the Christopher Kennedy room which is adorable with a bath tub outside. There is an electric awning to cover the patio so no one can see you in the tub. A sister hotel is next door where you can grab a drink and appetizers to enjoy by the pool. Walk to the main street and the many stores and restaurants.

Yelp
I have stayed at a couple dozen properties in the 20 years I have been coming to Palm Springs. The past couple years, I have found it challenging to find accommodation that really suits my needs. When choosing where I'm going to stay, the most important factors I consider are cleanliness, friendliness of staff, a quiet peaceful location, charm & ambiance and great bang for the buck. The Del Marcos Hotel not only meets my criteria it far exceeds anything I could have hoped for in almost every category.. Like most, I read many reviews before making my decision. Now having stayed at the Del Marcos Hotel, I can say all of great reviews are accurate. It is by far my favorite place to stay in Palm Springs. If you are looking for the perfect place for your Palm Springs trip, look no further than the Del Marcos Hotel . It could not be more ideally located. You are literally close to everything and within walking distance. The hotel is in the heart of Palm Springs and its ideal location is just off of the main drag. The property itself is unique, pristinely clean, quiet, beautifully decorated and maintained offering everything you need and more in a hotel. The 17-room property is nestled up against the San Jacinto mountain/s with many rooms offering a panoramic mountain view. The other rooms are conveniently poolside. They serve a delightful continental breakfast every morning in the lobby. This is not the sparce standard continental breakfast now pretty much ubiquitous which has a few generic bulk cereals, coffee, juice, a piece of fruit and maybe if you are lucky a slice of toast or a bagel. The continental breakfast here at the hotel included organic yogurt, coffee, juice, homemade gourmet muffins, two different types of handmade breakfast burritos and much more. There is also a afternoon happy hour. They have a nice selection of beer, wine and each day offer their specialty cocktail of the day. Two of the days I was here, I tried the watermelon margaritas and then a fresh Berry vodka cocktail. The homemade guacamole and chips was delicious as well as the salsa. They also had hummus with pita, and a mini charcuterie plate. The best part of this hotel is the employees. I was warmly greeted my first day by Rose who immediately made me feel at home, was so kind, helpful and sincere in wanting to make sure my stay was going to be the best possible. And, it was. . Thanks so much for everything Rose. Also, a shout out needs to go to Ben who helped me on my last day with check out. Without hesitation, he let me keep my luggage and belongings in back while I stayed and hung out at pool with some fellow guests 5 hours beyond check out. This place really rocks. From what I have heard and seen, you really can't go wrong with any room you choose. They are all unique and individualized. I stayed in the Desert Oasis deluxe room. I had my own personal little Lanai off the main room and the opposite side was the main door leading to the pool while also looking over the mountains in the background.. I had a full kitchen a huge amazingly comfortable king bed. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did. Already booked the room coming back in a couple months.

Yelp
Awful experience - avoid this place at all costs. We recently stayed at Del Marcos Hotel as a party of two, and the experience was deeply disappointing. Here's a breakdown of the issues we faced: No On-Site Reception: Upon arrival, we discovered there was no one at the reception desk. To speak to someone, we had to walk to a neighboring hotel (which apparently has acquired Del Marcos). Dirty Room: Our room was dirty upon check-in, with pee left in the toilet. This set a terrible tone for our stay. Pool Lights: On the first night, the pool lights were off. Again, we had to go to the other hotel to ask for assistance in turning them on. Double-Charged: Despite prepaying for our stay, we were charged again upon arrival for 2 more nights. Luckily, we caught this, and the staff blamed it on transitioning to a new system. Shockingly, they refused to check this on their end. Dangerous Hair Dryer: The hair dryer in our room was burning hot and clearly dangerous. It's worth being extremely cautious if you decide to stay here. Smoke Detectors Without Batteries: To our shock, the smoke detectors in the room had their batteries removed. Considering the faulty electronics we encountered, this is a serious safety hazard. Functional smoke detectors are a basic necessity, and their absence is deeply concerning. Old AC Units and TV: The AC units and TV in our room were relics from the '90s. The AC barely worked, and the TV was old, small, and lacked basic functionality you'd expect in any modern hotel. Room Condition: A missing frame left a needle sticking out of the wall, with a large stain where the frame had been. One bathrobe was missing, and we were only given two towels for our entire stay. Subpar Breakfast: The "coffee and light bites" offering each morning was laughable. By 10 a.m., the coffee was gone, and the bagels were stale--likely leftovers from previous days. Amenities Downgrade: They no longer offer the free happy hour that was advertised, which was another disappointment. Room Change Issues: After complaining about our initial room's condition, we were moved to another room. Unfortunately, the hot water didn't work, and it took four hours to get it fixed. Rude Staff: The staff were consistently rude throughout our stay. They barely said hello, even after we greeted them first. They screamed at each other while talking and showed a complete lack of professionalism. To make matters worse, they spoke in other languages behind our backs, assuming we wouldn't understand what they were saying--highly unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Manager's Behavior: Holly, the manager, blatantly lied about the issues we raised and showed zero empathy throughout the ordeal. Lack of Accountability: We addressed all these issues directly with the staff in person, only to realize they genuinely do not care. They looked at us with a dismissive attitude, offering nothing more than a casual "Sorry, it happens :-)". Old, Crooked Bikes: The bikes they offer are not only old and crooked, but there are only two bikes for two hotels. So, there's a very high chance you won't even get to use them, which makes the whole offering feel like a joke. Water Leak Incident: While we were waiting to complain about some of our room problems, we witnessed a couple being moved to another room because a water leak had ruined their belongings. This only added to the overall feeling of negligence and poor management at this hotel. Considering the unsafe conditions, unprofessional behavior, and utter disregard for basic hospitality, I honestly believe this place owes me for the time and effort I've put into this review. Perhaps then they could start living up to the name "hotel." Until then, I strongly advise avoiding Del Marcos Hotel at all costs.

Yelp
I would not recommend staying here just because the fire pit was not working, leaking gas and the room had a bad smell from it. There's hardly anyone at the front desk so it's hard to get a problem resolved. The room was a little bit dirty. The only reason for staying here is because it's close to the clubs. If planning on staying here rooms are $300.00 to $400.00 a night.

Yelp
There should be a "0" star here for MEGA FAILURE. The hotel mgt. never contacted me regarding the initial review, even though the site is "claimed," which means they read the reviews. I must have been out of my mind think- ing this was a reasonable place to stay. Next time, I'll listen to my wife! DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY!!

Yelp
We stayed here, utilizing the Hotels Tonight app. I felt the price was very reasonable, and it was anticipated to be a quick stay. Best things: Las Sirenas, sister prop next door, has an excellent bar. See review for Azucar. The customer service at check in was fantastic. The woman at the counter really goes out of her way to start your experience off right. She was very patient with my repeated stupid questions! The room decor was so nice. I felt like it was fresh & clean. The beds are comfortable. The pool was sparking & other travelers seemed to really enjoy it. The in room instant coffee, with the tea kettle, always a great idea! I'm not a fan of drinking coffee pushed thru the plastic Keurig, or plastic filter packs, which seem to be the norm. I was pleasantly surprised. The location is really excellent. You can Lyft/Uber to many places, and if you can tolerate the heat, the walk to the main drag is really short. The lobby has more coffee, and a muffin/ yogurt breakfast. Could be better: Only one wash cloth for 2 people. No coffee cups in the room in order to prepare the instant coffee. The wall ac was struggling to keep the room cool. Getting ready in the bathroom was tough. No one wants to feel sweaty immediately after showering. I will say however, that the AC points to the bed, so sleeping was fine. When you go to check in, it is not clear where to go. The main lobby of the Del Marcos was locked, and when we called ( twice) the phone rang & rang. Another guest who saw our confusion, told us where to go, which was at the sister property. On check out day, the one staff member was shouting to another colleague, just outside our door. It was not just like "hey" is was a full blown conversation, in caps! Since is was barely 7 am, I was not thrilled with the rooste It seems to me that is would be common sense to consider that guests might want to sleep in a bit. None of these issues would stop me from retuning, but it was the reason I went with 4 vs 5 stars. I also feel the if I would have called the desk for coffee cups, wash cloths etc...they would have taken care of it. I would return. I'm a bargain traveler, and this place feels nice. I have stayed at many other 3-4 star rated places in the area, and this by far was my best experience.

Yelp
We stayed here when we need a week of down time from the busy life, no kids, no screaming, no teenagers. Was a fantastic place

Yelp
The website recently received a much needed overhaul, which is great to see because booking was a nightmare (directly & 3rd-party). Very nice job on the site . We bunkered down here during Hurricane Hillary. It was an adequate shelter but not the functional & convenient stay we envisioned for a $40/night resort fee. For comparison, that's 25-40% of room rates--quite steep-- for services, amenities, & staff we didn't have access to. The important ones (massage therapists, restaurant, spa services, etc) are actually facilitated by the sister property next door. It's a strange fee structure. CHECKIN & SERVICE Positive checkin experience, albeit lengthy due to all the information to cover. No fee for early checkin & uncovered parking is available ( didn't use). ROOM (s) This property has accumulated many awards & popular mentions but the rooms were not in the best of shape. That made the disappointment more potent than expected: paint chipping/cracks, lots of rust in the bathrooms (no ventilation & windows sealed), leaky AC units, dead pests. We tried two rooms: "William Cody Corner Room" & "Hope & Crosby Room". Functionally, neither was designed for us (average height & weight Americans): small robes & hotel stock, low door knobs, tiny fixtures. The patios provide a great view & have seating options with more traditional/modern sizing. WI-FI Good Wi-Fi for remote work is important to me so this was a surprising reprieve & I wish there were more incentive to stay longer. Nerd stats: 143-180 Mbps down 123-136 Mbps up 0% packet loss 16 ms latency 3 ms jitter Performance: Video streaming - good Online gaming - average Video chatting - good FOOD & DRINKS Receptionist was really nice on the phone & enthusiastic to provide info on GF items since I have multiple food allergies. She advised that due to road closures they had low staffing & were running a limited menu & would transfer me directly to the restaurant to discus GF menu items but call went unanswered. This was the norm for phone service. VERDICT I really wanted to like this place and spend a week or so exploring different rooms, but it's more of a passing-through/novelty experience IMO. The views are very picturesque & if you're into boutique hotels with deep & rich history, then it's worth a look, but not an extended stay 2/5

Yelp
It saddens me to write this because our first experience was absolutely amazing, this trip was very disappointing. I've held off on this review for awhile to make sure I wasn't just annoyed with minor inconveniences, those irritations and let downs never went away. We arrived a bit late, about 10 minutes before the front desk closes, but the attitude of the dude who checked us in was kind of horrible. I felt like we were interfering with him leaving, it was a cold quick welcome and here's your room. I get it, your off at 5 and want to go home but friendliness goes a long way. When I went to check out he had the same bad attitude. I was waiting at the front desk a good 8-10 minutes before anyone came out from the back room then it was a quick your checked out see you next time - probably not. Flash forward to Friday morning when the camera crew arrives, yes camera crew. The new owner thought it would be a great idea to film and shoot drone video of the property while guest are trying to relax. Nothing says relaxation like a drone flying over the pool when you are just trying to be ok with your Tony Soprano summer body and now you may end up on social media and a website. There was no mention of this at check-in, no hey by the way emails were sent, no communication at all about this. If I had known this was happening I would have cancelled and booked another hotel where I could enjoy my vacation in peace. It was a huge inconvenience, we left the property for awhile only to come back to some a-hole camera dude's "we are filming here" ,"comment. Well bro we are paying to stay here and no one told us about this BS so deal with it. BTW the people in your videos need to have signed a legal waiver allowing you to use images of them - you didn't do that, you didn't even ask. After that experience we started noticing every little thing that was wrong. The hotel needs some updating and repairs. Pool furniture is left out damaged, chairs are torn and guests still were using them. I kept getting a sinking feeling on one and it was because the entire side was ripping, that chair was left out the next day. Our bathroom needed major renovations, tons of water damage on the bathroom vanity, the door didn't close, the shower floor was moldy. The entire floor in our room needed a good scrub, it was sticky and left black stains on our feet and slippers. Food ordered at the pool wasn't collected until the next day, it just sat outside all night. It was a bunch of small things that just added up over time and we began to question the price point of the hotel. When we stayed a year before we didn't notice any of these things. I'm not sure if it's due to the recent change of ownership or just lack of caring but things need to be changed. I realize it's expensive to run a hotel but when pool chairs and bathrooms start showing signs of wear and tear it's time to replace and repair. The only bright spot is Rose who continues to do an amazing job, it's too bad the other staff that works that desk when she's not there is not the same. Neither the other girl or the dude were friendly or attentive, it just kinda sucked. Honestly I don't know if we will be back. I can kind of ignore the wear and tear, it happens everywhere. But the new owner violating privacy and interrupting vacations to get new photos kind of tells me what I need to know about what's to come of this place. They don't care about guests, they care about money and getting people in the door. What happens after is none of their concern.

Yelp
It's so sad that this place has been destroyed by being sold to a chain. What was once a charming, customer-centric home away from home is now a soulless, hollow cog. They used to have wonderful attentive front desk staff that is now replaced by anonymous texts and notes saying "We're away from the desk right now"...and no help or service whatsoever. They used to have an amazing breakfast with hot food from the restaurant next door, fresh fruit, and juices, now they have a carafe of coffee and some stale granola. They used to have a great happy hour with cocktails, wine, snacks, and a chance to meet and chat with other guests...now they have...nothing. The Del Marcos has gone from an independently owned little gem to a soulless, heartless link in a chain, it is the Taco Bell of hotels. We used to come here once or twice a year but will never be back.

Yelp
Not the del marcos it used to be . We enter the lobby happy to be there and encounter the rudest most unpleasant person running the dest I think she said her name wa0s felicity I could be wrong.just straight tune. The free breakfast was a joke some dates and apples pand market muffins.no happy hour . Don't care much about the breakfast but the attitude has to go . Not in a hurry to return

Yelp
I stayed here last year and it was AWESOME. They had a complimentary breakfast that was to die for, it included champagne, and one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. They also offered a happy hour where all the guests could mingle. It honestly felt like a different time. They accomplished the MCM feel with aplomb. I'm planning a trip back, and I immediately went to book Del Marcos again, but I noticed it said they are now a Kirkwood Property. In fear I ran straight to yelp, and my fears were immediately confirmed. From the reviews it would appear that everything that made this hotel stand out is gone. PLUS IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE. I know that sometimes someone's experience may have been an off day, so I called to check. The person I spoke to was very nice, but he confirmed that the experience they used to offer is no more. It is now more inline with a standard Holiday Inn. So now I have to find a new favorite.

Yelp
How Sad. My favorite hotel in Palm Springs has been ruined. Prior to the property being sold I stayed here dozens of times. Clean room, reasonably priced, great free Happy Hour, wonderful breakfast, amazing staff....frequent guest discount....all of that is now gone. Go elsewhere. No longer worth the money. Thanks a lot Kirkwood!

Yelp
I've been coming to the Del Marcos Hotel for 20+ years. Ignore the negative reviews around the change of ownership, it's the same great experience. A bit more expensive but prices had been creeping up even before the change in ownership. Post pandemic inflation. Eliminating the happy hour is not a big deal - there's plenty of liquor stores within blocks and all the rooms have refrigerators. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
My first time in Palm Springs, and i had the honor of staying at this hotel for the weekend. Just about two blocks from downtown Palm Springs, this is definitely the place to be. It has a pool, ample parking spaces and very friendly staff who are available to accommodate your needs. They also serve margaritas during happy hour between 5-7pm. They also have some snacks and fruit on the table if you want to grab a bite. If you want to rent a cruiser bike a out, just fill out a form and youre set - you can borrow a helmet if you want one. When booking your room, indicate that you have a pet with you because there are some rooms that are more pet friendly than others. I havent seen what the other rooms look, but its also for the purposes of cleaning and whoever the next guest will be staying in the room. Its just courtesy so the person who stays in the non-pet room isnt allergic to pets and so they can clean differently for pets. I stayed in probably one of the larger rooms. I think it was the Desert Oasis Room. It comes with an outdoor patio - the walls are kinda high, so you wont be able to see outside, but you do get a dose of sunshine without the other people. It also has a full size fridge - refrigerator and freezer already cool and ready to be stuffed. A kitchenette - microwave, stove, oven, yup - you get all those. The cupboards have glasses, plates and stuff for your dishes. Internet - you can stream some movies, too! username and password is on the cards on the round table when you enter. Bathroom - its a stand shower, and its stocked with everything you need and a dryer if you forget a toothbrush, they were able to provide. A walk-in closet - yup, definitely feels like home. I wish I had stayed for more than a weekend. The pool stayed warm, there was a side to just lounge at - towels at your leisure and its just chill to be here. In the lobby, they have board games you can borrow and use for your guests and family. You can take it to your room, too and play with the board games there. They provide complimentary breakfast. The usual stuff, fruits, cereal, oatmeal, juice and coffee. Overall, im very happy i booked this place. Im looking to come back here again and stay longer.

Yelp
Had the best stay in April here this year! Super cute and last minute pick but SO happy we did. Very intimate, the front desk lady is a boss b*tch, handles the hotel like home. The rooms very spacious, clean, and cute. Pool vibes were it and the mid day happy hour w/drinks and little snacks-so appreciated. The mini breakfast that they provided-Berry cups, hard boiled eggs, mini breakfast burritos. Will def be back

Yelp
What a disappointment Hotel Del Marcos has become since being sold to Kirkwood. It's now average, at best. I's say its location is the only reason to stay here. Definitely overpriced. Literally night & day difference. Such a shame. We will not be returning.

Yelp
This hotel has the most expensive and restrictive dog policy I've ever seen. We travel with our dogs often and use dog friendly hotels. This hotel has a $100 per pet per night charge. We stayed over the weekend and paid an extra $400 for the privilege of traveling with our dogs. Right before we left for Palm Springs we received their rules around having a dog there. Aside from the $200 a night fee to have two geriatric chihuahuas, we were told that leaving the dogs in the room would result in a $250 fee. Also you can't walk the dog through their lobby. However they did provide what seemed to be a reasonably priced dog sitter. We called the dog sitter three times over the week and never received a response. We've stayed at 5 star hotels where they would give us a doggie bed and treats along with a list of dog friendly venues. This is by far the highest per night pet fee and most restrictive rules I've seen. With all the fees the room cost just under $1600 for two nights. Other stuff, the room is pretty and the kitchenette was cool. The shower is a bit eccentric and appears to be original. The refrigerator's door opens in the wrong direction. The TV is very old and difficult to turn off. If you don't walk across the room to physically turn it off the screen stays on. The continental breakfast was coffee, tea, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. All in all the place gives a super eccentric AirBNB vibe for a high price.

Yelp
The Del Marcos used to be one of my favorite hotels. This past stay was disappointing to say the least. The hotel had texted asking how my stay was and I responded (text string below). I did not receive a response. When we checked out of the hotel, I let the staff person know that I had sent a text with my issues and she said she would check and get back to me. I'm still waiting for a response... In sum - the room was dirty, the room amenities were lacking and the service that I had received in the past wasn't there. The lobby of the hotel was usually locked with a sign telling guests to go to their sister property next door for assistance (the staff there was very friendly & helpful). The included breakfast was coffee/tea, yogurt, muffins, whole fruit - in my past stays there had been fresh juice, champagne, cereal, berries. It appears they have done away with the afternoon happy hour cocktail & snacks as well. My guess is that once the hotel was sold to a chain that the personal attention that comes with a "mom & pop" run business went away which is truly unfortunate as that really made the Del Marcos feel special. Hotel Text: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being excellent), how happy are you with your stay? We are looking forward to receiving your feedback! My Response: As for my happiness with the stay, I'm going to say it's about a 7. The room doesn't really feel clean. I found a used qtip (not ours) on the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom and kitchen floors don't look clean. Based on the color of the bottom of my white socks, I would say none of the floors are clean. One of the bathroom towels has seen better days. It's pretty ragged. The shampoo amenity was mostly empty which I didn't find out until I was in the shower. Our safe doesn't work (I was going to text you about that) The guests next door were either smoking or vaping weed when we arrived-the smell was I've stayed here twice before, Aug 2022 was my last stay, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The hotel feels like it needs some love. I adore this hotel and really hope it is getting the attention it needs Check in at the La Serena was fantastic. Quick, friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Love this hotel. It's small, quiet, comfortable and has everything you need. Rose was the front desk attendant/ face of the hotel / concierge for 2 of the 3 days we spent there and she is lovely. She's warm, welcoming, helpful, and a truly a nice person. From check-in until her end of shift she made us feel at home while working hard to keep everything as it should be. Always towels at the pool. Rose brought out the best happy hour snacks! The beds were comfy, rooms very clean. We didn't have one complaint. If you want quiet, quaint, relaxing, this is the place. And Azucar the restaurant next door is amazing (& pricey). Also super walkable...one block from main strip.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel! Very clean grounds and rooms. Love the mid century vibe!! Our room was awesome, it faced the pool and had great views. Every morning breakfast burritos were served as they were delicious! They also had other offerings as well. They have a nightly happy hour from 5 to 6 with drinks and charcuterie. Fantastic location as well, only two blocks from downtown. Bikes were also available to ride around which was a lot of fun. We will be staying here again.l!! Laura and Aaron were very helpful and fantastic!

Yelp
Apparently the former owners sold this hotel to a corporation, Kirkwood Properties. We were so disappointed and stayed for 2 nights to the tune of $657. Air conditioning took a long time to cool down even after the man at the hotel next door came to adjust it. Our room was not cleaned the second day (the excuse was they were short staffed), desk staff and housekeepers leave early and you have to go to the hotel next door to get any help at all. We woke up to an alarm going off on the property the second morning which took hours to turn off. No price discount for these issues after complaining. This is not the same place it was a few years ago. We will not ever stay here again! Very, very disappointed! ZERO stars!

Yelp
a wonderful little spot at a renovated mid century structure -- perfect for a quick get away and close to downtown bars & restaurants. The front desk lady Rose was wonderful too!

Yelp
Run, don't walk away from any inclination you may have to book a stay here. I feel seriously ripped off. I booked a stay at this hotel on the Hotel Tonight platform. Hotel Tonight charged me $186. I was incredibly disappointed at the quality of the room. Very cold aesthetically. The bed was cheap and uncomfortable and linens and towels were super cheap. The molding by the shower was rotted away and just painted over. I was pretty astonished by the 'Motel 6' quality of the room in light of paying $186. Today I saw another $44 being charged to my card from this hotel. When I inquired, they told me it was the 'resort fee', but they don't include that in the Hotel Tonight published rate. 'Resort fee' -- Unbelievable. So now, they've charged me $230 for a 1-night stay in a truly dumpy environment. The value for money for staying at this property is the worst I've experienced in a long while - maybe ever. They are so many awesome places to stay in Palm Springs. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Del Marcos Hotel in Palm Springs. We booked the Julius Schulman room to ride out "Hurricane Hillary" and it was perfect. Plush bedding, floor to ceiling windows, a nice view of mountaintops and palm trees, and a fantastic location walking distance to downtown. The staff was wonderful and dinner at the sister hotel restaurant, Azucar, was fantastic. We were very happy with our stay and the reasonable price point (granted it was the off-season). Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
First time staying here I always stay at the jw Marriott or Hyatt in Indian wells but this was absolutely a different experience it's cozy vey friendly Rose on the front fest was very kind and welcoming we also had dinner at the hotel and wonderful food I will definitely be back , oh and if you stay with them on a regular basis they give you a 20% discount forever just make sure you call directly to the hotel not thru the apps

Yelp
This hotel will be a perfect choice if you want to ruin your vacation or if you enjoy feeling unwelcome while dealing with extremely rude, unaccommodating, and unprofessional staff. Don't trust what you see in pictures. All of them are filtered to create a Pinterest/Instagram 'vibe,' but in reality, the only vibe here is negativity, unwelcoming, and inhospitable. And nothing is like what's shown in the pictures. I would not recommend staying here at all. For this price, you can easily find something better. Even a $100 motel would be less disappointing. Avoid the entire Kirkwood Collection hotels branch. The pictures are filtered and fake.

Yelp
Del Marcos Hotel is where old Palm Springs goes to die. They have the retro decor down, but fall flat on the experience. If you arrive after 5PM, the lobby is locked and there is not a single staff member on site. The majority of the lights are out. Zero vibe or energy. No bar available. Staff in the morning (once you finally encounter them) are extremely rude. Free "breakfast" is laughable: box store mini muffins and some Yoplait. Very curious what the $40 "resort fee" is for, considering no actual amenities or services are offered? Very disappointed in the experience at Del Marcos Hotel.

Yelp
Rose is a lovely host, so accommodating and welcoming. The rooms, ambiance, and other guests at the Del Marco have made me extend my current Palm Springs trip two more nights just to enjoy it more. If get the chance, you must absolutely stay here.

Yelp
Great experience at check in with Ben. Great stay loved the mid century modern look. Will definitely be coming back even if its to just say hi to the friendliest front end host Ben.

Yelp
2 Palms = MY HAPPY PLACE, A Very Special Desert Oasis Getaway Spot! The Cats Out of the Bag!, the DEL MARCOS HOTEL, in Palm Springs, CA is a Known Hidden Gem! We don't get out to the Desert as much as I'd like to these days, but when we do we try to Book here! My Hubby & I have been returning to the Del Marcos Hotel for over a Decade! It's a Special 17-Room Mid-Century Modern Boutique Hotel, located in the Historic Tennis Club Neighborhood with a STUNNING San Jacinto Mountain View! It's only 1 Block away from the Heart of Downtown Palm Springs! This is by no means a Resort Hotel, it's very Chill, Frank Sinatra is playing in the Background and Misters above you as you relax by their Saltwater Pool! Our Favorite Room is The ERROL FLYNN SUITE, it's very Spacious & has a Fantastic View from it's own Private Deck Upstairs. Half of the Rooms at this Hotel have a Small Private Patio, Kitchenettes with Full-size Fridge & a Blender! They have Cruiser Bikes to Borrow, offer a Happy Hour to their Guests with Complimentary Beverages & Snacks, and have a Complimentary Continental Small Breakfast offering in the Morning too! This Hotel is Perfect if you are looking for a Charming, Romantic, and Adults-Only Getaway for some R&R. We've met some really nice people here and the Entire Hotel Staff always goes out of their way to make sure you Enjoy your stay!

Yelp
Very cool and classy boutique hotel. Rose at check in was very accommodating and efficient. Great location within walking distance to everything.

Yelp
Stay here. The location is perfect: one block from the downtown Main Street and one block from a grocery store and Rite Aid. The rooms are clean the pool is great and mostly quiet. I will be back.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Attentive friendly staff. Beautiful rooms ours was dog friendly. Nice quiet pool area. We were able to bring our own food and drinks. Lots to do in walking distance. We will be back.

Yelp
We stayed in the Oceans 11 Suite. The whole experience was wonderful and super comfortable and clean. Hanging out by the pool was so relaxing! The day we got in, the receptionist saw I was pregnant and gave us some sparkling cider since I couldn't drink what was out for their happy hour. I thought that was so cute and sweet of her. In the mornings they gave us muffins and other small snacks and drinks. Overall we had a great time, and the hotel was only a short walk away from the strip! We didn't need to drive anywhere for the entire trip which was great.

Yelp
A special post and thank you to Rose! The hospitality was my favorite part about my stay. A very nicely appointed hotel, lovely peaceful pool and I can't rave enough about the swordfish tacos! Definitely my new favorite spot in the desert, can't wait to visit again soon!

Yelp
We decided to take a road trip from Marina del Rey to Phoenix. Someone had suggested we stop in Palm Springs to break up the drive. I'm so glad we did. We found Del Marcos Hotel & booked a reservation for one night. The price was right & included a complimentary breakfast. We arrived at 4:30 to check in and was pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary happy hour spread of hummus, crudité, bruschetta, cheese, grapes & wine, beer or featured drink of the day. It was picked over, (evidently the guests are ready at 4:00 for their share) but there was enough left for a few bites which were tasty. The sister property next door provides the refreshments & also provides the room service. It's a fancier property with a spa. The rooms are all different & have names, some have a private balcony but they all surround the heated pool & lovely terrace with piped in music playing in the background. When we arrived Frank Sinatra was crooning. It was fun & felt like we had stepped back in time. The place was built in '47 & has a very retro feel to it. It has since been updated & is like new & comfortable. Our room was small with a tiny bathroom which was adequate but difficult to close the door if your on the toilet. It also came with a coffee pot & refrigerator which was adequate. The bed was comfy & the AC/heat worked well. We set the alarm for 5:00 a.m. & were lucky enough to witness the Full Blue Moon/Lunar Eclipse outside for about 10 minutes before it fell behind the mountain range. The other good news is this place is dog friendly. We will return & although there seems to be lots of properties to choose from we want to return to Del Marcos. Such fun & a great value for the price.

Yelp
This is long overdue! I stayed at the Del Marcos a couple weeks before the shelter in place orders took effect in late Feb/early March. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. The other guests were great to chat with over breakfast. I got a fantastic massage at La Sirena Villas coordinated by the helpful folks at Del Marcos. My room was fantastic! I had an outdoor bathtub and personal fire pit. Heavenly! Cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED the Del Marcos hotel! Our room was perfect and so cool. We got the Cody room which faced the street and I adored it. The interior walls were made of stone and the architecture was delightful. We had our two dogs with us, and it wad perfect because just outside our room there was a grassy Knoll. The pool was heated which made it super comfortable and the happy hour was a nice welcome to our stay. Don't think twice because the views are spectacular.

Yelp
I don't know how this place is rated so high on Yelp and Expedia. It wasn't horrible but it was bad in comparison to every single other place I've ever stayed in my almost a dozen trips to PS. There is no bar, there is no restaurant, although there is a sister property that you can order from by googling the phone number because for some reason they give a QR code for the menu but no number to call. The sister property "La Serena Villas" is what you expect in PS (stay there). Del Marcos needs a bunch of maintenance, there's basically no service and nobody is in the office when you inevitably get locked out of your room (which happened to several people while we were there). Also, 5 couples, including us asked to switch rooms after the first night because it was basically a state park/motel 6 vibe which isn't what I go to PS for... The girl at check in the first day was nice but the next girl on day 2 was a bit snippy and never around to help. She was nice when we were leaving... so... yeah. I wouldn't stay here.

Yelp
This place has a great retro look, like so many other places in town. Rooms are perfectly clean and well stocked, and service is excellent. The one issue is that the rooms need a bit of maintenance and minor updates. Two light fixtures in my room didn't work, the shutters were damaged in a couple spots, and rooms lack many electrical outlets or any USB ports for recharging devices. Still, for the price point this was an excellent place to stay with a beautiful pool area for splashing and relaxing in the Palm Springs sun.

Yelp
I had such a lovely stay here a few days ago and I couldn't be happier that I booked at Del Marcos. This property is charming, historical, well kept and CLEAN with such welcoming hospitality. The location can't be beat with stunning mountain views, in a quiet area off downtown Palm Springs. DO book here if you're looking for a relaxing stay at a charming older property where staff treats you like you're staying in their home. Start the day off with their complimentary continental breakfast and take one of their house bikes out for a spin on the beautiful streets surrounding. Relax by the pool at this 21+ property and soak up the rays. Happy hour is great! They offer complimentary beverages as well as a nice variety of appetizers. It's very clear that this is the type of hotel that people continue to come back to year after year. Lots of good vibes and happy memories. The staff is eager to give recommendations on things to do in the area, so take them up on it! There's only 17 rooms, and all of them have awesome views of the pool and mountains! Everything was spotless! Thank you for the amazing stay! I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years, and always enjoy our stay... I wanted to say Rose has always been a pleasure to deal with. She's always busy working even on the littlest of jobs (her precise attention to detail) and is such a people person. I appreciate her efforts and hope management does as well!! A very big thank you Rose!!

Yelp
A Total Disappointment: My husband and I had booked a room at this hotel for three nights (Nov 12, 2020 til Nov. 15, 2020. When we checked in our room had been given away and We were offered really poor choices as alternatives. To add insult to Injury the General Manager, Laura, recommended We could always look for another hotel. We have in the past stayed at La Serena and the same situation occurred. That time at least they were able to offer an appropriate alternative. This time We left and did go to another hotel. We will never return to Del Marcos or La Serena as both are very poorly managed. And as Laura pointed out there are many hotels in Palm Springs and most don't serve up the rude attitude. Really pissed off by the total disregard for a returning customer and for the inconvenience they caused . In response to management's reply below I will note the only offer was the waiver of the amenity fee and not a free night. You have the wrong facts or someone relayed to you the wrong facts. If this is how the management treats loyal and frequent clients then I would hate for the one time clients. Good luck

Yelp
Been coming here for years; great location, continental breakfast and happy hour, lovely grounds, vintage decor, decent rooms. Was really looking forward to our return to Del Marcos, we come at least 1x a year. The lady that checked me in was the rudest person I have ever encountered at any service-provided business. First she ignored me when I walked in, could have at least said "be right with you" anything... She returned to the lobby 5 minutes later, rude as can be. When she asked for my credit card, I simply asked do you need the Visa I used on-line or can I give you another one, she literally ripped me a new w/nasty attitude. When I did give her my ID and Visa, she retorted "FINALLY". Wow, unbelievable! She did her whole spew and mentioned hotel had been sold to corporation . Too bad, this place has lost it's friendly atmosphere. Will not be back, too many other boutique hotels that treat you like you are family. Hate feeling uncomfortable while trying to get some R&R.

Yelp
Very clean and if you're looking for that quintessential Palm Springs mid-century mod lodgy feel, this is your place. Rooms are adorable but not overly kitschy. The pool is the centerpiece and was perfectly warmed (came in February). Sooooo cool that it's connected to two other hotels and that gooorgeous restaurant Azucar is affiliated. The front desk made us a reservation there AND I ordered lunch poolside the next day from Azucar (no extra room surcharge fees ). The food is goooood and the roof deck next door called "Sugar Rush" is beyond adorable. All walkable! If I had a few small gripes: our room was next to the service laundry room and it made a loud thudding noise through the night. There's a slightly dingy smell in the room but it wasn't unbearable. You'd expect it seeing that this is an original 1947 property. The pool music goes really late, past midnight. The beautiful desert landscaping and interior decor here make up for any of those nit picky details. The staff are all super nice, all smiles. Plus bonus! They have a great happy hour with small bites, sparkling wine, an Astro drink that is light blue, and soft drinks. The breakfast is simple, but they have a wonderful assortment of fresh berries. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
The Del Marcos Hotel is the best. I've come here for years and it is always is an amazing time. Rooms and service are always great. The pool is the jewel in the crown. One of the best elements and respect to detail is the music. As a rule they generally play music from the late 40's to late 60's. It really sets the mood and is a welcome change from the top 40's you'll hear at every other place. My personal favorite is late 40's Jazz. However the lobby attendant is always open to taking musical suggestions and requests. I did notice a review where the persons biggest issue was the music and as opposed to just asking if they could change the music they wrote a negative review. That's sad. The Del Marcos Hotel is a wonderful home away from home and I can't wait to stay there again. Book your room today!

Yelp
the pictures are INCREDIBLY deceiving. rooms feel small and old. my husband booked this hotel last minute thru hotel tonight and we were very unsatisfied. Definitely a motel 6 vibe. Front desk was a security guard named Ken (i guess past a certain time) and he was super short and rude. Also this lady Rose in the front desk was incredibly rude as well. Not sure how this place has such a high review.

Yelp
Loved this place! We stayed at the Hope and Crosby room on the second floor which had a walk in closet, nice bathroom and private patio facing the mountains. The bedding was super comfortable. Wine and cheese in the evening and breakfast in the morning are available daily. The staff is incredibly helpful, the pool area is beautiful. Drinks from next door can he ordered at the pool. It's a charming hotel and definitely look forward to staying again.

Yelp
This swanky spot knocked my socks off! I fell in love the minute I walked up to the front and Elvis was playing! We stayed overnight only and didn't get to fully enjoy all the amenities, but next time definitely! I highly recommend this fun and nifty hotel
