I stopped in this nice little bakery after a long beach day to pick up an apple crumb pie. This place has a great assortment of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, and cookies. The store is clean, well organized, and reasonably priced. My pie was only $15, and it was large, heavy, and tasted delicious. The staff is fast and helpful as well. This place is definitely worth checking out while visiting the BB area. I have to make sure to get one of the cheesecakes the next time I visit as per recommendation from one of the locals. Plus, I want to try some of cookies by the pound.

What I asked for versus what I received. The pictures say it all. I called weeks ahead of time and sent photos to the head baker or owner who agreed that they would have no problem reproducing the cake in the first photo. Either this person is completely unaware of their mediocre skill set or just has no idea how to use fondant or advanced baking techniques. I was alright with a buttercream base but expected a clean finish. Clearly, it was a total mess and full of air pockets. The colored dots looked sloppy, cracked, and smashed in with fingerprints and terrible indents in the center. I also did not agree to the horrible icing and piping job for the number and name sign that were supposed to be in fondant for a crisp finish. I confirmed multiple times over the phone that the number and name sign should be done in fondant. I would also think that they would put a little effort into the colored dots being different sizes to add character like the first picture instead of a sloppy same size cutout for each one. When I arrived just before the birthday party they expected to charge me $130 for that monstrosity. After relaying my disappointment the owner did not even have the courtesy to come out and discuss the issues but used the counter cashier as an intermediary. After several broken communication attempts back and forth, he then offered 10 dollars off and to redo the letters in 15 minutes. Why were they not done correctly in the first place if he could supposedly fix them in fondant in 15 minutes!? Why would I agree to a rush job right before my son’s birthday party only to have the cake potentially look even worse!? This place just wanted to make a quick buck at the expense of a child’s birthday cake that was supposed to offer a nice picture with good memories. Had they been honest about their baking ability, or informed me the cake would look very different, then I would have gone elsewhere! I trusted the reputation and reviews but was sorely mistaken. Not only was the cake abysmal esthetically, the flavor was terrible and the cake itself was dry and disgusting. Avoid this bakery for custom cakes at all costs. They deserve a zero out of five.

Talk about sweet tooth..... this place will have you off your diet in no time. There are so many varieties, so many options, and you feel like you want to try them all. We bought so many different cakes.... Lemon coconut, red velvet, cheese cake, carrot cake, blueberry, just to name a few. All were finished in no time. Their chocolate cupcake was really good, even better than my lemon coconut. The service was fast. A lady came from behind the counter and assisted us with our decisions. Very nice. Would definitely return.

I ordered a wedding cake for my son’s wedding from DelPonte’s because everything else they make is so incredible. The wedding was great but the cake was out of this world. It was all people could talk about. We had alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with lots of maple flavored icing between the layers and white butter cream frosting (the bride wanted a sheet cake). It was moist, the flavors blended and the proportion of frosting was fantastic. Everyone kept asking where it came from. People told me they normally didn’t eat cake at weddings but tried it and loved it. Definitely a total hit and a great way to end the party. Thank-you DelPonte’s!

Everything was delicious. Been going there for years. But haven't visited for a while. Nothing has changed since my last time. Going in there just makes you smile with all the freshly baked options! We got way to much but it was worth it ❤

BRADLEY BEACH: Del Ponte's Bakery is a well known bakery right in the downtown area and leashed and friendly dogs can go inside with you to order. You know the place is amazing when your to-go box greases up real nice. 😃 They offer cookies, cakes, cupcakes, bread, brownies, and so much more. There is one outdoor table to enjoy your purchase on the property or bring it to Bradley Brew Project or Wheelhouse Distilling to pair with a drink. (The adjoining Del Ponte’s pizza shop is not dog friendly.)

With only a days notice and little direction, Del Ponte’s not only made the best cake- both beautiful and delicious! Be sure to go to them for any cakes and sweets you might need for a party!

Yelp
Bottom line: Del Ponte's Bakery in Bradley Beach has many display cases of delicious sweet treats and Italian bakery delights. The various types of biscotti we purchased as well as the crumble cheesecake were highlights from our selections. Definitely worth a stop in to see what interests your sweet tooth. The Deets: After dinner in Asbury Park this recent visit, it was decided a visit was needed down to Del Ponte's Bakery along Main St in Bradley Beach. This bakery's huge selection of Italian pastries and sweet treats was almost overwhelming! Multiple display cases of deliciousness awaited us inside the shop, we really took our time to look over all of it before decisions were made. We had basically thought going in that we would nab some fresh biscotti (which of course, we did, in different varieties, all delicious) but also ended up with some other goodies such as crumble cheesecake (so good!), cookies, etc. We feasted well each morning, believe you me. It was on the Friday evening of Labor Day holiday weekend and I think the young staffers there had a long day. We were served well, but from the "Can I help who is next, already?!" for example that was shouted out across the shop full of customers sort of came across as "let's get this done now" but hey, never know what they already had been through that day, right? They gathered up all our choices from case to case when it was our turn and we were pretty pleased with the boxes full of baked goodness as all of it didn't last long. Del Ponte's Bakery is a good stop to make if wanting some sweet treats to take home and enjoy, we are glad we did so.

Yelp
They sure have a large assortment of pastries and products. I just question the freshness. Prices were very reasonable. I stopped in to purchase a few items to snack on. Lace cookie, elephant ear, apple turnover, I love the old school feel but my selections were hit or miss. I get that you don't want an empty looking store and it's a large space. Maybe less variety and volume but product that gets replenished more frequently? Visually the space is perfect for Bradley Main Street.

Yelp
I ordered a custom cake for my sister's 30th birthday, and the whole experience was chaotic and frustrating. While the young woman who took the order was friendly, the manager/owner overseeing the order was rude, condescending, and unprofessional throughout the process. Communication was poor, and they never took a deposit, which felt strange. The cake itself was a disaster-- with illegible, haphazard writing. They also included a random, huge question mark that no one asked for. We scraped the question mark off ourselves and figured we could cover it with candles, however no one could even read the first few words regardless. When I politely asked for the writing to be fixed, the manager acted annoyed and suggested it might look worse if they tried to fix it. When we came back to have it redone, the manager mocked me loudly to a coworker, criticizing the phrase on the cake, "tea-ny bit older" and making us feel low and humiliated. She knew this cake order was for a high tea milestone party and that the phrase was a play-on-words. Her behavior was uncalled for and, honestly, pretty bizarre. It felt like I was back in middle school dealing with mean-girl bully behavior. I don't understand why she was so angry. If anyone was entitled to be angry, it was me - for spending $80 on what looks like a toddler made it. Thankfully, the older man who attempted to fix the writing was respectful and did his best, but he made it worse. This man should not be writing on cakes. The cake itself was ugly, tasted bad, and the rude treatment made it worse. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone. There are much better options out there that know how to handle custom orders with professionalism and respect.

Yelp
Corner bakery on Main Street in Bradley Beach with old school favorites and a huge variety of baked goods.

Yelp
Usually we purchase the Italian cookies and biscotti. Always like the variety of those cookies with the classic taste and look. Today we ordered the Coconut pie and individual pecan pie. The coconut pie was very sweet but very dry. The custard layer was missing. It was actually a macaroon pie. The pecan pie was even sweeter. The filling was clumpy and gooey but the only positive note was the many pecans. The 2 pies almost tasted the same especially the crust which was crisp without any flavor. I think I was stay with the cookies from now on.

Yelp
Dealing with Del Ponte's was an unfortunate experience that left my family reeling. The bakery completely messed up our order for a custom cake and caused so much unnecessary stress. Instead of taking accountability to rectify their mistake, they got unbelievably hostile. I am in shock at how they chose to be so mean and disparaging to customers when we were respectful and polite. Oof.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh pastries- My favorite was the chocolate covered Oreo. Staff were helpful too and managed the crowd well. Small spot to go in and out for pastries, doesn't really have seating. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
STILL my favorite Italian bakery! A trip to Bradley Beach isn't the same without going to Del Ponte's! HUGE selection. Fast, friendly service. And a fast neighborhood atmosphere!

Yelp
Cookies are important. So is bread. So when I moved to this area, I needed to secure the best of both and I am delighted to say that I found them both in Del Ponte's. There is an overwhelming amount of choices but the good news is that you will NEVER make the wrong choice because everything is fresh and delicious! Now, let's talk about service...Julie and Kathleen, specifically. How can they better than their pastries?! Well, they just are and just seeing them means that I will leave with a smile (and cookies, of course). They go out of their way to make you feel special even when the store is packed full of people (my timing is terrible) and I will always rely on the great people at Del Ponte's (especially J & K) to make my bakery trip the sweetest.

Yelp
OMG. And happy new year. We were in Asbury Park for a wedding and needed to get back to Manhattan for New Year's Eve. I had pulled pork in freezer.Needed great rolls. Yes yes yes. Line was long. Service excellent. I love a cash business. Had to get some pistachios biscotti. OMG. I love a bakery with a long line, baked goods everywhere, such nice employees despite being so busy New Year's Eve. Fantastic place! Made our NYE in Manhattan good with those rolls. One more reason I value Yelp.

Yelp
I'm so happy to live in a world where a bakery like DelPonte's exists. They have an amazing selection of American and Italian baked goods and everything is always super fresh and delicious. I was just in there picking up some pastries and cookies and an extremely rude lady was picking up a cake she had previously ordered. She complained about everything and just had that bitchy look on her face; from the box the cake was in for her long ride, to the bag and then eventually the price (I knew that was coming). For fucks same lady- go back to wherever you came from, fix your attitude (and your overdone-eyebrows while ur at it). I felt compelled to write this review; as the shop girls dealt with her so well, and she seems like the type to write reviews on small businesses. So here's the real truth from a long time customer of DelPonte's. God, I hope she sees this and thinks before she opens her mouth next time. Peace & Live

Yelp
Good and Smooth. Very jelly . Cold. That's the good. Bad. Could be a little bigger for the price not a fan of the sprinkles but that's a preference. A little more flavor needed. We drove 45 mins and honestly second best . We were hoping for better . We had worse and better. But for 18$ a pound. No . Brick was better .

Carla C.

Yelp
Every time you go in there, it's always a long line to be expected. The service was good. The pastry is outstanding. You must pull up ahead of time feel like anything special. They run out really fast.

Chandrasekhar T.

Yelp
Excellent bakery. Nice place to get baked goods early in the morning. Nice chocolate croissants, apple fritter, sticky buns with pecans
google avatar

Yelp
When in town last year; stopped in to get cannoli to take home to the Midwest. They sold my son the shells and filling separately so they would stay crisp. I could not believe the TSA let my son bring a paper cup filled with cannoli cream onto the plane. They were delicious! This year, we got cakes for 2 different events and mini cannoli. All were amazing! Did not have time to to stop and take some cookies home. They have a huge collection of every type of cookie you can imagine, have not been able to find anything similar in all of Minnesota! Such a shame....

Yelp
Great bakery with a large selection. This is the only place I could find a cassata cake outside Italy or Brooklyn. The have great cookies and the staff are friendly and helpful. I almost wish I never found this place....

Sherry H.

Yelp
Excellent cappacino and a wall of I Corti, one better than another definetely a place to stop like Arnold I'll be back

Yelp
The baked goods are delicious. One on the best Jelly donuts I have eaten in a long time. A tine store front with a ton of options. The counter staff were very personable and didn't rush you at all.

Lora Ann N.

Yelp
Always stop at your bakery when we come down to the Jersey shore everything is always so good today we visited and Lisa was our cashier who helped us out and was extremely nice. Definitely be back as usual.

Chuck S.

Yelp
The Cheese Danish there are made with MARGARINE and the taste is TERRIBLE. Where are the bakeries that make pastries with 100% real butter?
google avatar

Vicki F.

Yelp
Best bakery this side of Manhattan. Delicious goods, friendly staff and fabulous selection of classic Italian pastries, cookies, cakes and biscotti. From the first moments inside (what great smells and sights) you know you're in for a treat. I've never seen such a wide array of biscotti flavors anywhere else. I make this a stop any time I'm on the Jersey shore.

Barefoot F.

Yelp
My family loves his place. You have everything but the kitchen sink. A little pricey, but if you want top notch, then it makes sense. My only complaint is you have too much and my head explodes when I look at everything and can't make a decision ha ha
google avatar

Karly K.

Yelp
Yes to this place! Service pretty s l o w, but it's usually crowded prime time. Ample outdoor seating available. Causal vibe. Great brick oven pies, crust always well done but not hard. Top notch salads, super large. A good ole family joint for sure.

Christine W.

Yelp
Bought 4 cupcakes yesterday morning and we had them in the afternoon. Looked great but the cake was stale

Yelp
This review does not reflect poorly on the bakery goods offered but, on the interactions noted among employees. We stopped by the bakery for some after dinner treats. The individual assisting us appeared to be new, perhaps still in training. During the encounter a co-worker offered the individual assisting us with support in choosing the appropriate packaging for what we ordered. We had some questions about certain cupcakes, for which the individual assisting us had to seek clarification - no biggie. Separate packaging for an item containing hazelnut was requested due to a family members allergy, to which we were respectfully obliged. However, the employee assisting us was questioned by a co-worker for doing this, we were not sure why. In tallying up the cost, I knew by the total quoted that the amount was too little, so I asked if she was sure and reminded her of all the items she had packaged for us. As she began to review the calculations, a co-worker directed her to start again which she did. We paid but walked away remarking amongst ourselves how negative the questioning and facial expressions of one employee had been toward the employee assisting us. If we noticed it, surely the young woman assisting us did as well. It costs time and money to train new employees. We could do and be so much more by lifting each other up than by displaying behaviors of incivility. In leaving this review, we hope to create awareness that will help promote a culture of civility where employees feel safe and valued, and where respectful communication and feedback are encouraged. Thank you for your time.

Yelp
DelPonte's is the best bakery ever and so well worth it! Believe me, if you're not local, it's worth the drive and the wait because there's often a line. However, The staff will have you taken care quickly. Everything is mouth-watering and deliciously excellent.

Yelp
Amazing selection. Decadent yummy things. Will be back. Nice to see a bakery open late.

Tracey D.

Yelp
I am local and love Delponte's. We go often and will continue to return. Unfortunately, our counter clerk was quite rude and insisted on knowing everything we wanted upfront for the box size. She ended up putting everything together and when I got home I had to separate the biscotti (non- refrigerated) to refrigerated items. Generally, I've always had a great experience and won't let this taint my feelings. If you like biscotti then Delponte's is the place for you!

Deb S.

Yelp
The Italian bread is fresh and delicious. The chocolate crumb cake was yummy. They had a large assortment of cookies, and they had pastries which I'll try another time.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place with all my heart. Their brownies are my favorite and the napoleons and cheesecake are lovely too. I've been coming here for years and have no complaints ever!

Yelp
Grabbed a box with assorted cookies and pastries of my choice for the holidays recently and I was very impressed. All the cookies/pastries were delicious! Loved it so much - I'll definitely be grabbing future holiday/event snacks from here. Loved the almond and rainbow cookies!

Yelp
Good bakery on Main Street in Bradley Beach across from train station. Good Italian pastries and cakes. Enjoyed the cannolis and Oreos dipped in chocolate. Service good and ambiance of bakery. Parking is tough.
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Old school bakery, I wanted to eat everything, we had every chocolate covered pretzel, (Oreo, m&m, Reece', toffee), they are addictive. I cannot wait to go back and eventually try everything!

Jj V.

Yelp
Del Ponte's is our go-to when we are down the shore for the best baked goods. Ordered a coffee cake for a group gathering and it was delicious--service great too!

Ginger M.

Yelp
Love love love this place. Food is always fresh and delicious. From the salads to the pizza to the pasta. Always a good meal here.

Yelp
If your looking for a fantastic bakery in the jersey shore area this is the place! Reminds of me of older bakeries in north jersey. Everything here is so flavorful and just fresh and delicious! We have gotten cookies, cakes, pastries from here and I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed! They have a huge selection of everything! Girls are helpful with the so many selections!
google avatar

Lori F.

Yelp
Heaven is waiting at Del Pontes bakery! Pop in to indulge in the old school Italian cookies & pastries... almond paste, pignoli, rainbow, lobster tails ....and rows upon rows of biscotti. Hazelnut meringue cookies had a nice crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside. Street parking. Always a line, but it moves fast. Would give 5 stars if the counter person was nicer.

Alice T.

Yelp
A very good friend of mine brought a variety of baked goods from Del Ponte's Bakery to my home in South Jersey, yesterday. Amazing donuts, cupcakes, turnovers and mini pizzas to die for. Have not tasted anything so wonderful since the real good bakeries of Jersey City disappeared many years ago!
google avatar

Thaddeus K.

Yelp
My go to bakery and pastry shop. Love their biscotti. Best kaiser rolls around, with the choices for cookies etc being unlimited. Love their crumb cake as well. Walking into DelPonte's just melts you into being a kid in the candy shop. The smell of anisette greets you and there's eye candy wherever you look. Now, to get to and order a margherita pie next door is something that I have to do as I've been told it's quite good.

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Was looking forward to trying the crumb cake, but was so disappointed. It was dry and stale. I've had better from a supermarket or bagel store. One of the staff members was very rude causing me to almost walk out, but my granddaughter really wanted to try the crumb cake. What a waste of time and money - I should have walked out. Cashier told me a price - $4.99, then saw I had cash and said "oh it's actually $2.99" What?? $2.00 cheaper if you pay with cash? Disgusting.. this place is awful

Yelp
On our way out of Bradley Beach and back to reality (that is what I call anywhere not on the water) we were on a hunt for coffee. On a late Sunday afternoon, literally every coffee shop was closed so I took a chance on a bakery (this place)! I didn't have any luck with coffee - they did have some but not iced and it was HOT out, so iced was the only option. But, to our luck, we found an oasis of sweet treats. I was perusing and found a long list of gelato flavors, each one more tempting than the last. I landed on a single scoop of coconut gelato, and for $3 I was a very happy camper. Coffee who??? Just kidding, I still very much needed coffee. The gelato was sweet and creamy and perfect on a hot day. And an incredibly generous scoop. My boyfriend got a bunch of chocolate chip cookies which he was very incredibly happy with. I will also say they paired wonderfully with my gelato. The staff here was so sweet and kind and even though there was a bit of line, didn't rush anyone they were helping. They appeared to have anything and everything that could contain sugar in it. This looks like the perfect place to stop before heading to a dinner party or holiday or just anywhere that you'd like to bring something tasty. Or if it is hot and you want a lovely scoop of coconut gelato. Get the coconut gelato.

Yelp
Yassssss yassssssss yassss!!! Must have!! Let's go!!! What are ya waiting for......... delish

Matthew T.

Yelp
I when into this expecting nothing much after the horrible experience at the pizzeria but was blown away. The cookies were astounding. Their texture was great and their flavor was great also. Everyone was nice and friendly when helping me. The only problem is the ambiance it feels like a school cafeteria but that doesn't really bother me that much. If you are going to Bradley beach make sure to check out this bakery
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite bakeries ever. Their pastries and cookies are very tasty and their cakes always look incredible. I love how it is family run and the smells when entering are delectable. My go to are the black and white cookies and their buttered rolls. They have a huge selection so you will find something for everyone. The prices are also very good and you will be shocked to see what your total is when you buy a bunch of treats. It is sooo worth it. This is a must try if you are in or around Bradley beach!
google avatar

Starsheen D.

Yelp
Although I'm currently living over an hour away from this location I have actually made it a point to drive here to get some pastries. They have so many things to choose from. From the cheesecakes, cookies, biscottis, cupcakes, puff pastries and many more. I have not been disappointed yet and I've tried a lot of their goodies. I definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
We've come here a few times and there's already a wide selection of cookies, cakes, pies and savory treats. Always tasty and fresh. My only complaint is that we are often rushed by the staff to place our order- even when there isn't a line! Makes it a more stressful experience than it needs to be.

Sam S.

Yelp
The pizza, the cheese cones, fruit tart, and just about everything I have had is great. Stop by every time I am visiting family and am excited what else they have to offer.

Karen S.

Yelp
Yesterday I went in for just a few little things, of course I did find some other goodies. 2 pieces of Crumb Cake (stale) 2 Jelly filled round donut's 3 humentashen 1 Linzer Tart (stale) 10 biscotti pieces not large I told them go ahead & put them all in one box that's fine. $39.21 I'm told, I'm fumbling for cash there are a bunch of customers so I use my credit card. Do I want my receipt . . . yes I say. I go on my merry way to my next errand and look to pull out my credit card again and my receipt is wrapped around it. I notice there was a $1.50 Service Charge added on to the $39.21. Buyer be aware. I'm disappointed enough to bother to write this review.
