Delacorte Theater

Went to see Twelfth Night at Delacorte Theater in Shakespeare in the Park. Waited six hours, and the play completely amazed me! Seeing A-list stars up close is an experience I can’t fully put into words. Daphne was absolutely incredible in the show. The staff and workers were super friendly and kind. They truly deserve flowers for all they do. Overall, everyone was welcoming, and the entire experience was unforgettable. 💛

Pros: Beautiful outdoors venue. Love the Public Theater and Shakespeare in the park. Cons: these are the most uncomfortable seats in any theater or stadium I’ve experienced in NYC - 30 min feel like a middle seat in economy after 7 hrs, very painful, especially when you 6’1+ Solution: if you are a tall person, make sure you buy front row of the section or bring cushions. Enjoy the show.

Went to see 12th Night here last Thursday and I must say I truly missed going to Shakespeare in the Park! It’s a highlight for every summer for me ever since I started going regularly back in 2017 ans while the house itself didn’t undergo to many drastic changes, the stage itself has some fun new additions that this production utilized very smartly and creatively. I know how competitive it is to get tickets this year and that it closes on 9/14 but if you’re able to get tickets definitely do! It’s worth it ✨

I was walking around Central Park today and passed by the Delacorte Theatre. It is a rather large structure but it was not open so I could not go inside today. I was able to take a picture of the inside seating as viewed from the Belvedere Castle.

What you will / twelfth night was incredible, probably the best play I've seen. I don't think their is a bad seat in the place. Would highly recommend waking up before dawn to get tickets to the summer shows.

The renovations were great. Every seat is a good seat. We were up pretty high and still had a great view. The people working there were fantastic. They pride themselves on being accessible to everyone but they give out 200 out of 1800 tickets in the boroughs in random weekdays so I'm not sure how accessible it really is.

My memory is fuzzy on what the Delacorte was like before the 2024 renovation. Now the walls of the theatre encasing the audience are made from reclaimed wood. The stage itself has intricate designs (not sure if permanent) and has multiple moving parts - the technical side of it seems to be on par with Broadway theatres. What a wonderful way to welcome back the theatre with an amazing cast. Tickets distribution is also handled very responsibly and fairly.

Saw ‘Twelfth Night’ for Shakespeare in the Park last night at the Delacorte Theater. The venue itself is stunning after the renovations. Audio was crisp and booming, performance was star studded with Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, and Lupita Nyong’o! The process for getting tickets was long and arduous but totally worth it! Make a point to see Shakespeare in the park ASAP!
