Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In – Seligman, Arizona - Gastro Obscura

"Built during the height of America’s obsession with cruising the highways and byways, Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In has been making drivers stop and laugh for over 50 years. Located on the longest remaining stretch of Route 66, there is no better place to experience the genuine small town hospitality and quirky pride that once defined the Mother Road than Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In. Originally constructed in 1953 by the now deceased Juan Delgadillo with mostly scrap lumber from a nearby railroad yard, the eatery first gained fame when Delgadillo sliced the top off of his car and began covering it in eye-catching flare such as stickers and a fake Christmas tree. The ramshackle greasy spoon soon became a favorite among locals and travelers down the famous highway. The establishment’s interior restaurant space and outdoor garden still evolves daily. The space is an organic cavern of kitsch, as visitors adorn the structure with foreign money, souvenirs, pictures, business cards, tour guide ID’s, stickers, and a myriad of other pieces of travel ephemera. The walls and ceiling have become a shaggy roadmap of the diner’s history of visitors. The drive-in clearly does not take itself too seriously, but their devotion to jokes and whimsy seeps into every facets of the business. From the front door, which features two door knobs (one’s a fake), to the jokingly redundant menu items (dead chicken, anyone?), the eatery gives every guest the funhouse treatment. Visitors may have to make a clear distinction between iced tea and iced tee and confirm that they want cheese on their cheeseburgers. Despite dwindling numbers of passersby on Route 66, Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In is still operated by Delgadillo’s son who keeps the laughs and burgers coming. So glad I walked over to this spot! It looked so cool and was cooler to explore! The staff have really great classic pranks when you order, like “do you want napkins? Yesterday’s or today’s?” 😆 and the soft serve is so tasty and refreshing on a hot day. Plenty of seating and lots of photo opportunities! Make a quick stop here on your way to the Grand Canyon!

The burger was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were fun and made great efforts to make us laugh and feel welcome. I had a chocolate milkshake that was also smooth and delicious!

Google
This place was great, perfect R66 stopoff!! The staff was super friendly and fun. There was a line to order but it went quickly and you can explore behind the building while you wait for your food. Burgers were good too! They take credit cards but they pass along the credit card fee, so bring cash if you want to save 3%.

Google
Fascinating eatery known for its burgers and milkshakes. This is a social share hotspot known for its funny signs and collection of rundown cars. Erroneously ordered a wrong burger and it was graciously replaced without charge. Really appreciated that. The burger tasted great. The peanut butter malt was delicious

We learned that this location was the inspiration for the Pixar movie “Cars,” and now we know why. This food/ice cream shop, which was built in 1953, is probably the single best stop along the old historic Route 66 Highway in Seligman, Arizona. The primary reason, John Michael and the rest of the staff at the Snow Cap. He is absolutely wonderful a real practical joker, and he will never let you stop laughing. Just remember to always ask for a straw, and also the ice cream Sunday, but beware of the day on which you ask. We will leave it there, since you will find out what we mean. The ice cream treats, and the shakes are delicious and there are plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy your food, treats or both. Do not forget to visit the area behind the store and always try out the outhouse. Unforgettable experience and we will also make it a point to stop here every time with come this way in the future. Thank you, guys, for making this a memorable stop. Parking is available in front and on the side of the shop.

Had to stop as I was driving through town what a fun quirky place. Got a cherry lime snow cone. And then found a smooshed penny machine outside so got a souvenir. Lots of fun things to see all around. Lots of areas to sit outside to enjoy your food or treats.

Google
This is a must see stop on your way through Seligman, on historic Route 66. Give yourself time to relax and enjoy the many antique vehicles to see and so many cool old photos, and such. There may be some (light) humor to enjoy if the employees get to have some fun with you. When you order, you will pay and then go out to the patio area and wait a very short while for your name to be called. We ordered a cheeseburger and French fries, a 12” hotdog (loaded) and two milkshakes.

Google
Fun. Historic. Authentic. We had burgers, fries and ice cream dip, which taste like the good old days. Owner Cecilia is inheriting her parents’ business and passing on the optimism and taste of her parents’ time / her childhood to the nowadays world. She and her team bring positive vibe to the guests, which you need to experience by being there! Cecilia, you’re a beautiful soul!

Yelp
The waitresses will play jokes on you that'll make you jump And laugh. Everywhere you look, there are some sort of joke in this crazy, quirky, outside seating restaurant! The food is pretty cheap and really delicious. I wish I lived closer to try more of what they have to offer!

Yelp
Quirky little town. This was the inspiration for the movie CARS. Simple burger shack. This is a stop just to all around. Ordered the Chorizo burger. It was yummy. Has a little kick. Their milkshake choices was plenty. Caramel milshake was not too sweet but blended right. Food turnaround was slow, I mean SLOW. Took them 15 mins for the order. But the server was odd and friendly. 5 stars for ambience. 3 stars for service and food. Salsa and chips was great. Chorizo burger is different. Tasted like mix between a steak burger and a taco.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious home made beef tacos with refreshingly fresh ingredients. Wonderful milk shakes and burgers too. The ambiance is old Route 66 "Cars" movie themed. Service is top notch. The owner and staff love harmless practical gags and they made my whole family laugh. All around an enjoyable experience and fantastic roadside food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
A must stop on your Route 66 journey. This is what the road trip is about, a step back in time with good fast food and awesome service with a side of good-natured humor. We enjoyed our burger & fries, but even more enjoyed our interaction with the staff of this wonderful spot. You order inside, make sure u close the door quickly, and exit out the other side in a covered seating area. They call your name, and you grab your food at the window on the side, and if you are lucky, some more laughs. If you ask for a straw, you are going to get what you asked for Loved our stop here from the food, the facilities, and definitely the people. It's a bit of old-time flavor with a dash of good America humor. One of the highlights of our trip down Route 66.

Yelp
What a fun place to stop and look around! There aren't too many places to find food, restrooms, or much of anything else on this particular stretch of Route 66. We just had the ice cream here, but in the dessert heat, boy was ice-cream a sight for sore eyes. I fell for the 'door handle on the wrong side of the door' gag. Ha! They play quite a few pranks here. There are outdoor restrooms, and some quirky stuff to take pictures of. It's definitely worth a stop if you're out traveling the 'ol Route 66.

Yelp
This place was a charming must-visit! We visited Delgadillo's when our tour stopped at Angelo's Barbershop to showcase the celebration of Route 66. We went in with the expectation of just grabbing a quick treat to cool off. And the milkshake was perfect for that - tasted great& was a generous portion worth the price. But the real value of this place comes with the decor, the kitsch, & the pure gusto and joy of the service. Along with our milkshake, we were served a practical joke & a few puns! A break from the heat with a side order of laughs! It was such a welcome touch of humanity after traveling in a tpur bus for hours. Thank you Delgadillo's!

Yelp
Awesome retro frosty. We already had lunch but I was not going to leave town without having a milkshake from this place I heard so much about. There was a little bit of a line but most were getting milkshakes and it went pretty quick. The lady was awesome and fun she's got some gags that can catch you off guard. Milkshakes were wonderful and they have all the flavors and you can mix em too so come check them out and get a shake to go and continue on Route 66.

Yelp
Very solid one star... I am not sure where all the 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from other than maybe a sympathetic generous review for a small town rt 66 stop. The food was terrible... the cheeseburgers very very clearly a frozen wholesale warehouse burger patty. The onion rings were hard. The one star comes from the milkshake that was alright at best. It was was just under $40 for two cheeseburgers, a small portioned side of onion rings and two milk shakes. Service was basic although the cashier was friendlier to the locals. Ambiance was fitting for a small town burger stand. The dogs aggressively barking next door I could have done without but the decor was cool.

Yelp
I highly recommend Delgadillo's Snow Cap, especially if you're traveling with kids. It was one of our pit stops on the way to Page, located in Seligman along Route 66, the quirky town that inspired the movie "Cars." My family enjoyed their burgers and perfectly cooked fries--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the enjoyable experience. Milkshakes were the perfect fuel to continue our journey. They have so many selections! With plenty of interesting and funny attractions to explore, it's a great place for families to take a break and stretch their legs before hitting the road again. Overall, it was a fun and memorable stop for us. Keep up the great work, Delgadillo's Snow Cap!

Yelp
This was a definitely a fun stop on Route 66 for many reasons. I waited a long time to eat here and visit and it was one of the few places that lived up to my expectations. In addition to eating here, there's a lot to see beyond this place - like check out their "backyard" where they have strange sculptures and beat up cars. I could spend a big moment talking about the Delgadillo family (the family that saved Route 66) but it's better to read up on them. Juan (who passed away a couple decades ago) owned the place and he built it out of scrap material during the 1950s. He was best known for his sense of humor which still shines today ("Dead Chicken" and "Cheeseburger with Cheese" are menu items; sometimes the staff plays pranks on customers). His brother, Angel, ran the barbershop just a couple doors down. The food here was delicious. They do have a great menu as they are known for their burgers, fries and shakes (with the fries you get a happy face one!) but they also have burritos, green chili and veggie burgers too. I rarely get milkshakes because of my lactose issues but I had to get the butterscotch shake which was excellent. They have lots of outdoor seating but they also have indoor seating too. Be sure to bring your sense of humor and open mind here.

Yelp
Great service, extremely tasty shakes, and the absolute best corn dog I have EVER eaten!!
google avatar

Sherry T.

Yelp
Such a fun spot. It's a small space but it's decor is just as fun and quirky as the staff. The milkshakes are delicious and creamy. My son got a caramel vanilla shake and he was in love. Definitely worth going if you are on Route 66 and looking for a sweet treat.

Yelp
This was the perfect spot to grab lunch in Seligman. My family and I stopped through town on the way to Williams for a getaway and had so much fun here. Make sure to bring your kids inside with you while you order ... the pranks are fun and the kids loved them all. I had the green chili burger, it reminded me of ones I have had in NM and TX. It was flavorful and a decent size. The onion rings and fries were also very good. My children all had milkshakes and loved them as well. The only downside to our experience was my mom's turkey burger. It seemed to just be taken out of the freezer, heated up, and was served to her still cold and frozen in the middle. Important to note, the only dining tables are outside. We were quite hot eating on the outside patio (in mid-90's temps), but luckily it is all covered and shaded. We ate fast and made the best of it. Plan ahead during the hot summer months!

Yelp
Yummy Milkshakes and food!! Great place for pictures and tourists who love Route 66 nostalgia!! Definitely a must try!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on our way from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, and I highly recommend the stop. Love the Route 66, Cars vibe, and practical jokes around every corner (ask for a straw). We had the long John with chili, cheese and onion (2 stars), cheeseburger with cheese (5 stars), fries (4 stars) and 3 milkshakes (5 stars). Milkshakes ranked: 1. Oreo 2. Peanut Butter 3. Chocolate Malt (recommend w/o malt) If we ever return, we would go burgers and shakes 100%.

Yelp
Delgadillo's Snow Cap is part of Seligman- birth place of 'The Historic Route 66' which was established November 1, 1926. The town is a treasure to see and visit the shops for souvenirs and stories from yesteryears. Snow Cap opens at 10am to 6pm. I ordered a chocolate malt- very good. All the shopkeepers are friendly and full of wonderful stories.

Yelp
This place has epic burgers!! If you happen to take this route then you absolutely have to stop in here for a burger and a shake!
google avatar

Claudine L.

Yelp
Unique setup, Good food, and Entertaining attendant! There's a prop for every joke haha and we love it! The burgers are great especially the Chorizo Burger I got. The shake was good too, not too sweet, just right to the taste. And the decor of the place, so unique! Too bad we stopped by when it was too windy, I'm sure we could have explored and enjoyed more if it wasn't. Thank you for the fun and unique experience!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by here 18 years ago on our Route 66 trip to Chicago. This time we stopped by with our 3 sons in tow. First time around, the owner Mr. Delgadillo gave us a ride around in the white car, but I don't think it runs anymore! Boo hoo..! This is a must see if you're stopping through Seligman. It's a designated Route 66 Attraction. Mr. Delgadillo has a good sense of humor. He told me I stepped on the freshly painted floor so I jumped away (it was freshly mopped - he got me good). There are lots of kitschy signs and decor, and old cars in the back. The food isn't half bad either. My family ordered cheeseburgers and I had the turkey burger. Although the bun looked kind of sad, it tasted good! If you are driving old Route 66, be sure to stop by Seligman and support this business! You'll also have the chance to see other fun shops in the area for some good photo ops.

Leah W.

Yelp
Great food! Fun to look at all of the decor! You can tell they have a great sense of humor! I love it! So does my husband!
google avatar

Paula B.

Yelp
Very fun place! Yummy ice cream, Tacos fries etc. it's been here 59 years so it must be good! Great stop, and you can see cool cars cruising by!
google avatar

Deb O.

Yelp
Quirky little town, quirky little restaurant with a cashier full of puns and jokes to break up your day. Have an ice cream cone, make sure it's the whole cone and not half! I recommend sticking only with the ice cream cone!
google avatar

Yelp
we had lunch here today, my wife had green chili...hamburger sandwich, and i had the cheese burger, we had onion rings and french fries,,this was a fabulous place....loved everything about it! also, had our dog and he sat with us outside!

Yelp
FYI: This business is currently closed. They close for the winter season: December through February. They haven't claimed this Yelp page but this information is listed on their website: https://john-delgadillo.squarespace.com.

Yelp
Hidden gem in a small town! When I first saw this place, I thought this is just a small cute place with lots of vintage stuff, that's it. But anyways I was dragged into the place (not literally lol), tried their burger, fries, and ice cream, and I was like wow! I had a Jalapeño burger with two fries (potato and sweet potato) and a soft ice cream cone. This burger has something special. It's not something really fancy and big you can get from other burger restaurants, actually pretty simple, but how do I say... hmm it tastes like something that my grandma would make with lots of love and no bad ingredients in it at all. It's really simple but somehow it tastes good. And please try sweet potato fries!!! Super crispy and yummy. I finished off with an ice cream cone, vanilla and chocolate swirl, yum :) It's a little far from big cities, but when you get to pass this area, check this place out.

Yelp
Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive In is off of the historic Route 66 highway, located in Seligman, Arizona. This eatery was built by Juan Delgadillo back in 1953 and was made mostly out of scrap lumber from the nearby Santa Fe lumber yard. This establishment has a sculpture like garden in the back of the restaurant, which you will probably recognize cars parked that look like the ones from the Cars movie, like Doc. There are other really interesting things here that is worth taking some time to walk around and see like the art car out front and the random garden with toilets. But anyways, this eatery is definitely full of jokes and pranks. My husband, our little girl dog and I stopped by here on a Friday afternoon, right before 1 pm. It was not crowded. We walked around to check out the awesome hand made sculptures and then eventually followed the route on the floor that lead us to walk around to the inside. We were greeted by an employee and ended up ordering: Strawberry Snow Cone, $2 (tax included)- I haven't had a snow cone in a long time and thought this was perfect. It was also a great price. My husband and I both shared it (our little girl didn't seem to like it). After we made our order and paid, the employee had asked if we wanted mustard... I am just going to leave it at that for the prank, lol (although I am sure some of my fellow Yelp members might have already described that in their review). And then after we got our snow cone, we were asked if we needed straw, again I won't tell you what happened after that, lol. The pranks are cheesy but in a good way and may make you smile just for a moment. Anyways, because of covid 19, the seating area is currently closed (which is covered by the way to keep the sun out of your face). But I would definitely recommend checking out this place if you are doing the Route 66 drive to see all of the cool roadside attractions, in addition to Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive In.
google avatar

Mallori B.

Yelp
Super good ice Cream! We got the root beer freeze and the Oreo shake. Both were great!

Hippie R.

Yelp
Great people, good food, fun experience. Also, a historic stop on Rt 66. Check the history of this place for more information.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun stop on Route 66. The owner tells jokes as promised by other reviewers. The dead chicken and frozen treats were good.
google avatar

Kristina T.

Yelp
Built in 1953 from scrap lumber, Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In still stands strong today and is a well-known stop along Route 66. In fact, this place even has its own Wikipedia page. As long as you are on Route 66 in Seligman, you cannot miss this place as it stands out along the road with its neon signs and quirky decor. The door to the counter had two knobs. If you cannot open the door during their normal business hours, it does not necessarily mean that they are closed. Try the other knob. The knob on the left is the real one that opens the door. However, this is a busy place so someone in the crowd is bound to figure out the door if you cannot. Once you enter, you are in a tunnel covered with money, pictures, business cards, and random stuff. The line will not seem that long when you spend the time admiring the memorabilia from previous travelers. The menu is pretty simple so it should not take you too long to make a decision and keep the long line moving. There are some burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, burritos, ground beef tacos, milkshakes, and snow cones. There are also a few beers on the menu as well. Rest assured that your cheeseburger has cheese, and that your chicken is already dead. Once you order, walk out the door and wait for your food at the pick-up counter. There are plenty of tables out on the patio. Walk around too, and check out the classic cars, outhouse, and other random stuff. I ordered a ground beef taco and a shake. The taco was decent, and the shake was comforting on a summer day. The food does not stand out, but it is not supposed to be gourmet or anything fancy. It is made-to-order and served hot, which makes it tasty, especially after a few hours of driving along Route 66. Also, the food is super affordable. Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In is a good pit stop for its attraction value and also because there is not much other food option. Make this a stop along your Route 66 journey, and keep Route 66 alive.
google avatar

Mike O.

Yelp
The place was on my list of stops on our vacation trip to Arizona...it was very interesting. Small, good and hilarious service. Excellent shakes and great prices. All the seating areas are on the outside, nothing inside but the counter and tons of photos of people who have been there. It was too cold and rainy the day we visited so we got our stuff after the floor show from the people working there. Worth a stop, if you like out of the way strange places with funny people.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're doing Historic Route 66 STOP HERE! There's a spirit when people know what they're doing on 66 and they know what they're doing here! We got a shake and a cone! Great portions and taste! We walked around and looked at the fine outdoor museum they've cultivated. I found myself staring at the restroom. You'll feel refreshed and ready to hit the road after stopping here. This stop fits in perfectly with East Jesus and Salvation Rock; it's a breath of fresh air AND similar somehow!

Yelp
Seligman is kind of a place that should be a destination but never will be because of its size. In any case, Snow Cap is a place I'll stop at anytime I'm driving along that stretch of I-40. The food is good for the typical diner fare but it's their space and attitude that makes it so wonderful. The place they have is fun and quirky and their goofy sense of humor just adds to the ambience. Seating is entirely outdoors, but they have a covered patio for when the weather is suboptimal. It's old-school in a fantastic way. Highly recommended.

June S.

Yelp
Super nice family and fast service. Hamburger, chicken and sweet fried ok. Nice place to make photos of the route 66.
google avatar

Dani F.

Yelp
Ignore any negative reviews of this place!! Such a cool place to stop, funny and friendly staff, and really good burgers. So glad we chose this place to stop on our long road trip from california to Texas. Great place for my little one to enjoy time outside of the car. Definitely recommend

Anton K.

Yelp
While driving east on I-40 from Flagstaff Arizona, I stopped in Seligman. Seligman was a city located on the Historic Route 66 Highway that took travelers from Chicago to the west coast. It's heydays were in the 1940's & 50's before the interstate highway system was developed. Today, Seligman still celebrates that heritage with quirky memorabilia, signage and artifacts from the period. I stopped in Delgadillo's Snow Cap to tap into some of that nostalgia. After reading YELP reviews, I ordered a banana malt shake $4.95. AS a sweet tooth junkie, I love everything sweet but this was exceptionally great, so before I left, I ordered a traditional root beer float. Snow Cap is loaded with charm. If you are from New Jersey you probably are familiar with Stewart's Ice Cream Stands, just think of Stewart's with sensory overload. Lots of 50's stuff, funny posters, and T-Shits, etc.. The staff like to be comedians as well, all for a good time. The animated movie "CARS" Disney used the town as a model. This is where the cars called home. Tow Maters garage is just across the street from Delgadillo's Snow Cap.
google avatar

Faith A.

Yelp
Delgadillo's Snow Cap was on my must visit list for a long time now. We stoped on our recent Route 66 trip and had a blast! If you like cheesy jokes and good food this place is for you! We both got the cheeseburger with cheese and a coke. My friend mentioned that the smile potato reminded her of the cookie from the Nosedive episode of Black Mirror. Could some Hollywood type stopped here and stole the idea?

Vinny T.

Yelp
not sure how the reviews are so far off. When we stopped in, the food was greasy and cold. The bathrooms were a mess. Wild dogs in the "backyard". Good luck on finding any comfort on this outdated "restaurant"
google avatar

Unique H.

Yelp
This place is Incredible! They are so funny! Service is great and the food is fantastic! I loved it so much! Drop in for a good laugh and great food and to support local! We got the chicken nuggets, the male hot fudge sundae , and a vanilla malt. Great family! Allison is funny!
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
Cute little Route 66 stop. You come here for the experience, not the food--the Cars themed vehicles, the wacky garden and outhouses. The food is ok, hamburgers and onion rings were good. But definitely worth supporting local businesses while passing through.
google avatar

Roxanne B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food and ambiance and "your corn dog comes with mustard" squirting bottle trip. If I'm ever through Seligman again I'll definitely be back!

Chen H.

Yelp
We went here as a stop on our trip to Grand canyon. It is at a perfect lunch location for us during our 4.5 hour drive from Vegas to Grand Canyon South Rim. It absolutely is in the middle of nowhere that 2 minutes before arriving, I still cannot believe there would be a restaurant in the middle of the dessert! Yet, once we arrived, there were actually quite a number of people dining here. Apparently some of the tourism buses stop here too. The menu is bigger than what you would expect from the outside of the restaurant. Love that they include tax in their price tags! In terms of flavor, I loved my veggie burger and the fries were fresh and tender as well. Definitely recommend for good food, reasonable price, and fun history! Below is what I learnt about this place on Wikipedia before going: Located on the famous historical route 66, the Delgadillo's Snow Cap is a historic eatery that was built in 1953. To bring attention to the restaurant, the owner sliced the roof off a 1936 Chevrolet hardtop, decorated it with paints and horns, and showcase it in front of the restaurant. The restaurant has been featured in books such as "Route 66: The Mother Road"; and in the Historical channel's "American Restoration" show...

Yelp
Diner great place, good food.. very unique, love all the memorabilia & the staff are always lovely

Yelp
We walked around the property to see all the stuff. We decided to eat at another local restaurant, but we'll be back.
google avatar

Julie F.

Yelp
Definitely, a MUST visit if you're in Seligman! From the exterior to the interior, this place is a visual feast! The 1936 "Sno Cap" is parked out front during business hours, complete with a Christmas tree attached to the back! You'll find "Doc" (from "Cars") in the back along with other movie characters. Nice picnic/seating area in the back. The interior is "littered" with STUFF! Leave YOUR mark by signing and hanging a dollar bill - be sure to include where you came from! Be prepared to laugh! Kids got milkshakes, and we got a couple of beers. Known for their burgers, tacos, burritos, and more. Family-owned & operated since it's opening. Big secret (shhh!): Your kids "may" be able to score a RIDE on the 1936 Sno Cap! IF he says "Yes," please tip John handsomely and order something. Be subtle, polite, UNASSUMING, and ask for John... The timing MUST be right: When it's not busy and/or just before dark. If it is busy, please do NOT ask. This is NOT a "norm," and it's 100% up to John's discretion. Do NOT hold it against him if the answer is "No." Literally, he MAY give 1 or 2 rides at most on any given day. (This is not an advertised "attraction" by any means). FYI: no seat belts, the car is OLD, seats are worn.

Yelp
It's zany, fun, tasty and a great pit stop on the way to or from Vegas! Definitely worth the slight detour of I-40. Make sure you choose the correct door knob or you'll look stupid, haha!

Yelp
I came here for lunch with a group of 5 people on a road trip driving back to Las Vegas. Seligman is a small touristy spot along the historic Route 66. There's a bunch of fast food places and touristy stores selling Route 66 souvenirs. The place was pretty kitschy with a lot of Route 66 memorabilia. It was cute that they had the cars from the movie Cars in the back. I ordered the green chili burger and fries. The burger was large, not greasy, and had a lot of green chilis. It was pretty good. They are known for their shakes but I didn't get one. My friend got the Oreo shake and he said was good. I saw a lot of people getting ice cream and banana splits. The staff were super friendly and upbeat. It was a fun stop and I would come back again. It was a good rest stop if you're driving back to Vegas from Grand Canyon.

Yelp
Route 66 is legendary -- conjuring up images of the golden age of the automobile and roadside America. Decades after the interstate highway system nearly wiped it off the map, the route is still hanging on. Today, one of the best places to see Route 66 in all its glory is in Northern Arizona, which is home to the oldest and longest stretches. One of the oldest and most unusual stops along Route 66 is Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In. You'll have a hard time not cracking a smile as one of the workers unloads one "Dad joke" after another. The shop first opened in 1953 by the late owner Juan Delgadillo, the original prankster and practical joker behind the business concept. Today, the practical jokes are carried on by the younger generations of the Delgadillo family. But beyond the practical jokes, the ice cream is well worth making a stop. In particular, be sure to order the chocolate dipped vanilla twist cone. Comedy and ice cream? Sounds like our kind of place.

Yelp
Stopped in Tuesday Aug 3 2021. Cool little place! Awesome people with a great sense of humor. It's not just food it's an experience. The staff was friendly and had jokes and answered questions about the place. If customer service is dead then this place didn't get the memo. The customer service was amazing and the food was delicious! We had tacos which were nice and crunchy and the beef was so flavorful. Kids got nuggets and fries and polished them off. One also got a "girl cheese" sandwich which everyone had a bite cause they were raving about how delicious it was and it was just perfect. Just the right amount of crisp, oozing cheese and a light buttery flavor on the bread. Not a very big menu but they've definitely mastered what they serve.

Yelp
Americana isn't a word I really use, but it's what comes to mind for this place. Such a rich history here. The family takes pride in this place and offers a fun experience by their lighthearted pranks and quick service. Just classic American food. A road trip must if you're driving through here!
