This Surreal National Park Has 2,000+ Natural Stone Arches, Starry Night Skies, and a Scenic 18-mile Drive

"The park's most iconic hike leads to Delicate Arch, a 46-foot-tall showstopper reached by a roughly three-mile round-trip trail with about 480 feet of elevation gain; it's particularly impressive at sunrise, and there are also Lower and Upper Delicate Arch viewpoints (the Upper provides better visibility but requires climbing stairs)." - Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion Stephanie Vermillion is a travel journalist and photographer covering culture and adventure for Travel + Leisure Outside, and more. FEAR OF HEIGHTS? TRY AT OWN RISK. Exceptional, roughly 2hr hike, can be challenging. Very worth a try, soooo beautiful, everyone was vibing at the arch. Saw mule deer on trip down.

Delicate arch was definitely tourist central. but you know what, I admired the number and range of people making the 4 mile track out and back. It felt like a pilgramage, and was really rewarding. Even got the Arch photo!! So lovely. My favorite part was actually coming back down the giant slab of sandstone afterwards. Really incredible 😊

What a beautiful area, Delicate Arch is awesome. The hike up had great terrain change & some challenges but rewarding. Truly amazing! We enjoyed Aches NP & hope to return some day.

The Delicate Arch hike is absolutely worth it. It’s about three miles round trip and a bit of a workout, especially in the heat, but the views make it completely worth it. The trail starts off easy and then gets steeper with a mix of slickrock and sandy sections. When you finally reach the arch, it feels unreal. The scenery is beautiful and the size of the arch is amazing to see in person. Bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and start early if you can. Sunrise and sunset are both incredible times to go. This is one of those hikes you’ll never forget.

Wow!! It is so worthy of hiking...it was not extremely difficult but a good hike up to the Delicate Arch....OMG, it is all worth of your sweats and sore muscles when you see the Arch!! Must see!!

This is the most spectacular arch in the park for me and a must visit point. The trail that leads to it is quite strenuous, takes about an hour. The view during the hike is also awesome, you can look around the views when taking a break. The trail is on top of enormous rocks, so there is no where to hide from sun, take water and apply sun protection. The arch is speechless, just see the pictures I took. If you have time, you can watch the sunset here.

I have hiked this many times but never in the rain and still it was just as stunning and pleasurable a hike as always! My daughter and I are pretty fit and just blazed up the trail but the altitude can get ya and the subtle incline is deceptive. The slick rock is fun to scramble over and there are lots of ways up. Just take breaks do you need and take some water. It took us about 2 hours with about 20 min at the arch for pics. The trail itself is well marked and coming around the corner to see the arch is the best part!

The hike took us about 2 hours to finish. It went up hill about 600ft. Not too difficult, but the scenery was majestic. The arch was great photo opp of course.
