No, and also fuck no. I used to love to come here back in the day. I used to love to dance in the back. This was such a fun environment.
I hadn't been here in a long time. I came in and had one drink and spent literally 12 minutes in the bar. I really just needed to pee.
I peeked in the back to what used to be the dance room, two people chatting at a table amidst a bunch of garbage, clutter and disrepair, looked like a crack den. Definitely no dancing going on there.
There was a DJ upfront at the side of the bar with little space to move or work, and damn sure no place to dance.
The drink I bought was $9.34, I tipped 30%. Three days later I get the final charge on my Venmo card of $30.34. I wish I could tip that generously, I can't, I didn't.
I called to have that corrected, they said I have to call before 10 AM the next day to speak with Angelo, the guy who answered said he didn't know anything about that and couldn't do anything about that. I called at 9:30 the next morning, there was no answer, eventually a recording comes on saying the message box is full. Disconnects me.
I searched for an email address and found one and emailed about the overcharge, two business days, no response whatsoever.
I called again today in the early afternoon and asked to speak with Angelo, the woman who answered said he's not there, call before 10 AM tomorrow. I told her what happened when I tried to call last, she told me to try again and just instantly hung up on me. Clearly, these are great and professional people, and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they deal with exactly these kinds of contacts regularly.
Trying to dispute the charge with Venmo is a convoluted maze of nonstop bullshit, discouraging, disheartening, not even fucking worth it.
You can steal $18 from me, fab, but this is the price. This and the several other reviews I will write and post publicly. You destroyed a wonderful place, made it into a craven shithole, and you steal from and abuse people who once loved you, at Christmastime.
May it all circle back on you, triple hard.
