Fun staff, great jukebox selection, and a nice pool table, $2 a game. Great dive bar hangout.

Okay divey type bar, $9.34 for hazy's

Regarding the previous review, these gentlemen were cussing the bartender out over the music because she wouldn’t add extra liquor to their drink. The bartender asked security to remove them and they were extremely upset because they didn’t finish their drinks. There was zero racist remarks. She didn’t react besides laughing and grabbing security. They complained about the drink prices and she even showed them an itemized receipt. Crazy to write such a dramatic review when at fault.

Super fun atmosphere, people, cheap drinks and great service. The place is almost always lively, one of the best dive bars in the area.

Someone on staff stole my girlfriend’s credit card info last night. It was a literally brand new card so it must have been here. She closed her tab at 1am and then at 4am someone spent hundreds of dollars on Amazon. She was served by Angelo but it could have been someone else. I would avoid this place or pay cash if you must go.

Google
We closed out the place and enjoyed the bartender. Great beer, and they put up with us weirdos all night. Had tons of fun!

We walked in and asked for a drink. The bartender was intoxicated and began calling us names for wanting a specific drink. Due to her rude behavior, we decided to not leave a tip. She showed up a few minutes later and made a scene about the tip and eventually wrote an $8 tip for herself which is straight up theft. Furthermore, she showed up again and snatched our drinks telling us to leave. The bar’s security asked us what was going on, we told him all about it, he apologized for her rude derogatory behavior. At that point we decided to leave. Do yourself a favor and never go here, I have never been subject to such inconsiderate behavior ever at any bar.

The bartender was rude so didn't leave a tip, the bartender walked up and gave herself a tip on our receipt. After no more interaction she took then drinks back. She stole our money.

Yelp
This is the locals' spot where my friends and I always end up. Service is exactly what you'd expect at your local dive. They'll get to ya when they get to ya. try some of their drink specials, and take advantage of the DJ on the weekends. Maybe the DJ will be playing music "live," maybe they'll just push buttons and relax with ya.
google avatar

Yelp
Maybe because I ignored the bartender while walking straight to the restroom to use it, or i am asian. After using the restroom, I asked the bartender for a drink, he checks my id and says ok. He makes a drink for another customer, then proceeds to eat lunch without making my drink. bye felicia

Yelp
This is a pretty grungy, dark dive bar so I was out of place reading a book at the bar on a Friday at 2 but I did it anyway! I grabbed a local beer and stayed for just a bit. Seems more fitting as a place to go with a crew late night. Kind of reminds me of bars on 6th street in Austin.
google avatar

Yelp
What an interesting spot. Definitely a dive bar but pretty good vibes all around. On the weekends they have music, and sometimes a DJ? During the week it is quiet. The drinks are pretty cheap and there's a pool table in the back. All sorts of characters stop by for a drink here, which makes this place pretty interesting. There's a back room with a photo booth as well! Service was prompt and the bartenders are friendly. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a dive bar in the Mission!

Yelp
Thursday night Apr 4, 2024 The skinny bartender with blond long hair refused to take the order of my friends and she loudly yelled to him: YOUR GROUP WON'T BE SERVED ANYMORE BECAUSE YOUR FRIEND DIDN'T TIP EARLIER!!!! I know tipping culture is fundamentally broken in Murica and it's crazy how customers have to justify themselves for not giving more of their hard earned money. But here we are: I ordered a round for my group. Sometimes I tip, sometimes I don't. If the service requires 2min of your time, why should I pay another $15 on top of that? The other bar prior to this I tipped, because it was a cocktail that gentleman made. At Delirium we ordered simple Jägerbombs. Those were already $82, ain't paying more than that. Now people will say all sorts of shits like "If you can't afford to tip don't go out". I'm sure everyone can afford to tip but we as customers are not responsible for your salary. My money, my choice. The action of that bartender cost this bar $82. Another $82 the bar owner could've made within a few min if it wasn't for entitled workers. You don't like your pay? Ask your boss for a fair salary!

Yelp
Solid little dive bar that gets packed and rambunctious as the night goes on. Sticky tables, torn up seats with decal stickers and movie/celebrity posters on the walls would be more endearing if there wasn't a hint of vomit every now and then. Otherwise, this is a bar with regulars! Bartender was nice and I liked the solid drinks they had given the price. The hot toddy advertisement on the board outside drew me in and was perfect to warm me up and clear my throat. The bf's gin and tonic was strong. There is a pool table and a backroom for dancing. The music was jacked up by the time we left!

Yelp
Went out here after here before Thanksgiving weekend which was really fun and tons of friends and tons of memories I won't forget! Was drinking ADIOS MF, some tequila shots and they play good music here as well
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
I went here at around 12am on a Sat & it was poppin. They played a good 90s/2000s mix of rap which was cool. Service was ok, pretty slow (definitely need more than 2 bartenders). They also have a pool table, which is cool. Crowd was very diverse which was also a good sight.

Yelp
Fantastic bar great atmosphere got to love this place. It's a staple for me. Love the drinks
google avatar

Ellie-Eleanor H.

Yelp
Delirium, service for the sick! The bartenders are awesome, good drinks and vibes. They usually have a DJ on weekends but even when they don't there's always great music on. Occasionally I do food pop ups here as well as other food vendors so it's worth checking out if anyone is serving food
google avatar

Jasmin R.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night. It was throwback Thursdays so I enjoyed the music. Wasn't too crowded. Got service quickly. Didn't try any food not sure if they serve food.

ilena f.

Yelp
At approximately 5 PM on Sunday, the new shift bartender came in, pushed people aside that were standing and chatting, and moved customers out of a bench seat so she could put her dog there. She was very rude.

Rodrex T.

Yelp
bar tender gave my credit card to someone else last night. have to cancel my card 2 days before Xmas. i went to leave and my card was already gone. so setup.

Yelp
Came here after a few other bars in the area. I will say that if I had a few more drinks in me this place would have been more fun, but the crowd here is definitely a bit too rowdy and inconsiderate. The place itself is a bit older looking, could use an update. The people working here were nice enough, but the drinks were very much kinda half-heartedly put together. Overall not somewhere on my list to revisit.

Yelp
Your neighborhood door guy love all the ppl and regulars that come in keep coming and enjoying the time y'all

Yelp
I read the reviews. Bah Humbug, I say! I'm 66 years old and never felt discriminated against. Always included in conversations. Bar staff are as congenial as you could want. The drinks are poured wiv a heavy hand. The graffiti and old look lend to it's genuineness. If you dont like this, then dont go to landmark bars. Old San Francisco and hope it never changes.

Makenna S.

Yelp
It's sad you can't take accountability for your employees services because we can say the same thing regarding age discrimination when all of us in fact were 21+ since she served drinks already without even asking for an ID in the first place. The bar next door said your bar has plenty of bad stories regarding that you have kicked out old people in your bar because they were too old. Run your establishment better. I appreciate honest managers and honest reviews too. Shut your bar down if you wanna accommodate.

Yelp
For sure one of the best dives around. Right slabbed amongst the super gentrified Valencia st, delirium feels like home and a diamond in the rough, what a bar should be in every sense. No frills, cheap drinks, nice layout and friendly staff, bartenders and security included. For sure has some characters every now and then (myself included) but that's apart of the charm and I wouldn't have it any other way. Happy hour is a steal in an otherwise pricey neighborhood and music is just right. Can't wait again for dj nights in the back post pandemic
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting from out of town chill spot to drink and watch the game. Great atmosphere of people. extremely nice staff and security!

Yelp
Came here the other night for a night of dancing. Definitely chose the wrong day as everyone was trying to stay indoor from all the heavy smoke, but i diverge. Delirium is a nice divey bar with good price drinks, fun crowd, and a nice back room where the music gets lit. They music ranges from current pop, to hip hop, to top forties, so it's a nice mixture. I can imagine that the back room can get grimy and super stuffy when it's packed, but hey, maybe that's your scene? Although it wasn't super popping the night we went, we had a nice time having a nice corner of the dance floor to ourselves and had a nice convo with the bartenders. On another note, there is also a pool table. If you're more into EDM, this probably isn't your spot, but nonetheless drinks were on the cheaper side and it was fun. Probably will come back everytime we hit up the mission.

Yelp
One of the better dive bars I've been to in SF! First of all, the prices cannot be beat. The drink menu contains the regula dive bar standbys of beer and well drinks. However, I was delighted to see a cocktail of the day! I had to order it, and was very pleased with the flavor and amount of booze. Delerium does not serve food (wisely) but it allows patrons to bring takeout food into the bar from neighboring restaurants. This is a very cost effective establishment. We will be making it a destination for cheap drinks and good times in The Mission!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and came to watch a movie at the ROXY next door... I was killing time before my film started and stumbled across the perfect place to grab a quick drink. Service was friendly and nice, juke box was playing cool tunes. This place is a gem with a cool neighborhood bar atmosphere. Not many places like this are left in the Bay Area, I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Niana D.

Yelp
I adore the dj on Wednesday. Drinks are fair prices and they have specials and you get a tecate if you check in. This is a cool place to bring your friends and family if they have never been to SF and want to see some anti-tech. WEDNESDAYS!

Yelp
Update: 10/20/2007 After having dinner at We Be Sushi, my roomie and I decided to head over to Delirium because it was closer than Zeitgeist. It was crowded as always. We ordered our cold pint of Stella Artois and walked towards the back only to find out that smoking was not allowed anymore. Bummer. NO SMOKING. I guess it's better for all of us that smoking is not permitted inside the bar anymore. As we light up with other smokers outside the bar, we saw some pretty crazy people. A woman on the phone in tears screaming at what it seems like a boyfriend, or girlfriend, then minutes later after hanging up, making out with a guy which obviously she just met. Gross. Inside, more interesting individuals. A woman at a bar by herself talking to a group of random guys. She was nice. I think her name was Nicole. One of the guy she was talking to approached my roommate. Got a little too close. Random Guy: "Want to smoke some weed." Si-Eun: ignoring Random Guy: "Wanna go home with me... no pressure." Si-Eun: "What do you mean?" Random Guy: "Is that a no." Then he started mumbling to himself. Si-Eun: continued to ignore Random Guy: flips her off. What an as*hole. We downed our beers and headed home, wishing we never left our perfect neighborhood, The North Beach. As we walked towards BART, I kept saying in my head... "there's no place like home, there's no place like home," over and over and over until finally we made it home :-)! ---------*----------------*--------------*------------* Thursday: 12/72006 - 10:10p Arrival - 11:30p Departure I like this bar, but not when it's crowded because some people are just so rude and doesn't know how to say "excuse me." There's a pool table and a separate smoking room. The bartender was extra nice and attentive considering how crowded it was. Pints of PBR just kept on comin' -- 4 each to be exact :-)! I was digging the bathroom -- I liked all the graffiti on the wall given it smelled and was very dirty. Tagging on a public bathroom wall was fun. There was a pink Sharpie pen by the sink -- I picked up the pen, wrote my name on the wall, then took a picture of it to post on Yelp (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/LIjMD-PXdrjEAykKVoAiLw?select=yO74nUMNO73rTD0xhZr2iQ). I think I've inhaled the most second hand smoke I have ever had last night at Delirium's smoking room. It didn't help that my date smoked like a camel (a cigarette every 5 minutes) either. Would go back here again, but will totally try to avoid going into the smoking room even though it was awesome watching people bumping and grinding on the dance floor.

Yelp
This is literally a locals home. Straight San Francisco love in that bar. From the updated jute to the graffiti covered dark walls it just feels like home. This bar knows no color, creed, or denomination and I've personally witnessed this time and time again. Atmosphere: dark, lazy, and wooden. Doesn't sound like much but to a person getting off a 12 hour shift and wants to see familiar faces, this place is great. Plenty of seating and even a back room for dancing. There is also a pool table but what sucks is you have to pay to play. I understand they want to make money but I'm already paying money for drinks... this is a good tactic though to keep the "bar sleepers" out. I didn't check out the video games but the machines were still there. Staff was nice but a little slow to make the drinks. Then announced she had to walk the bars resident dog. Gross. Will I come back? I always do. Even with 3 stars I keep coming to see the people I've known for years and to meet new ones.

Shelley M.

Yelp
The perfect place to go if you're into getting roofied. It happened to my friend this weekend and she was a wreck. I guess it happens all the time, and the owners either don't care or are too busy making money to notice.
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
Seems like the atmosphere changes a bit depending on when you come here. Early evening during a weekday, it's a bit empty with what seemed like a few regulars hanging out. It was interesting hearing them interact while I was watching an NBA game on one of their TV screens. The other time I've been here was probably around 12AM or 1AM. More of a crowd and actual music playing. You get the divey bar feel regardless of what time you go. Great prices for drinks even when it's not happy hour.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
$5 cover on a Saturday night. Minimum tab of $20 to pay by credit card. This place was pretty crowded around 11pm, but we managed to snag a spot near the bar. Drinks are cheap and place has a good vibe. There is a pool table and dance floor in the back, but didn't venture over there since it was too crowded. Overall, liked the place although sometimes it was a bit loud.
google avatar

Courtney O.

Yelp
Definitely a dive bar with a room to dance in the back! You enter into a long bar and if you make your way to the back, there's a pool table. There's a separate area with a dance floor. The DJ plays some bumpin hits that go along with the music videos on the TV. So why the 3 stars-- there's a $5 cover. Not totally worth it for this divey joint. And once you leave, there's no re-entry. Also, the bar is cash only. How weird.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
Pretty cool dive. Friendly bartender. Was here on a Saturday and they played nothing but hip hop. Hip hop is fine in my book but it'd be cool to have some variety.

Yelp
I had a great time here last night with my girlfriends. The bartender was fast and friendly, and they had a nice hazy IPA on tap, so I'm a fan. I liked that this place has a chill vibe in the front, with plenty of places to sit, TVs, and pool table, but then it's high energy in the back room which is great. The music was good, the ambiance was good especially considering there's no cover, and the crowd was fun. I remember the people when I go places, and the people working here were fantastic. The service at the bar was fast, and the bartender even offered to take a photo for us when it was slow. My friend knocked over a full pint of beer and they were totally cool about it, even joking about it later on. The only thing I wish was different would be gender-neutral bathrooms. As always, when there's a men's and women's restroom at a bar or club, you can count on three men relieving themselves for every one woman. I don't know how the men's restroom was set up, but many of us ladies were tempted to go rogue and use it, so a gender-neutral sign would have made that a-okay which would have been dope.

Bea R.

Yelp
Came here for my sister's 21 and had so much fun! Andrew and Chris were super nice in serving us and talking. Didn't take too long to get our drinks and the drinks were good!

Rick G.

Yelp
Great place to go for good cheap drinks and service would highly recommend to visit went in San Francisco
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
The music is so loud I can't hear myself think. The bartender once noticed that my friends and I were having a conversation. She looked me right in the eye as she walked over to the stereo and jacked up the volume to the point where we couldn't hear each other even if we were shouting into each other's ears. Also, I live a block away, so I am rarely not hearing their music in the background and people are always leaving the bar to pee and fist fight and yell at each other right outside my window. Not my favorite place.
google avatar

Yelp
Okay just when you thought it wasn't gonna be a good night you're here! Delirium the last real bar in the mission yes sir. Security is nice
google avatar

Arthur G.

Yelp
This bar has the essence of San Fran. Great ambiance, cheap prices, a must visit in the Bay Area!
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
It's a great place for a day drinking. Nice mix of friendly local freaks and weirdos. There's a pool table, strong drinks and it's totally unpretentious. I'm glad somethings don't change too much. No visible emphasis on "mixology" thankfully. Appropriately branded "service for the sick" Cheers!!!
google avatar

Loli L.

Yelp
If, like me, you worry that dive bars are disappearing, fear not. Delirium is here and happily welcoming you to be part of The bathroom looks like it has some really interesting stories to tell. I found it to be spaciousness enough to fit all my sisters (assuming that they were all here with me.) A pool table in the back, strong drinks on the side, and enough places to sit to enjoy all the activity. I easily made friends with people whose names I totally don't remember. Good times.

Yelp
Dear Straight Boys of Delirium: I am a patron of Delirium on the weekends. I would like for you to talk to me. When you see me chatting with my friends (who even if they are boys are not my boyfriend!), I am hoping you will ask me to dance / buy me a drink. Whenever I am at Delirium, I feel like I am in jr. high again except I am not in a brand new JC Penney's dress, I am wearing something far prettier. I have wanted to go up to you except you are standing with all of your guy friends, or you just started dancing with some other girl, or forgive me, I have spent the entire night trying to figure out whether you are gay or not. I dance to the eighties pop tunes, trying to appear uninhibited, to look as though I am radiating the pleasure of Saturday nights out. I buy drinks to give my hands something to do, to give me liquid courage in case I might work up the nerve to talk to your messy handsomeness, or your mild mannered gentle face or maybe your intimidating drop dead prettiness. I am having a good time with my friends. I enjoy hearing Wire, and Iggy Pop blaring in a bar on the weekends. The beer I drink goes to my head and makes me giggle. I am happy I am not at home. A few words from you would complete my evenings nicely. Love, Netty

Yelp
I had been playing Batman on PS3 for 11 hours straight when I was persuaded to head out. Could I make myself leave? I was just about to whoop up on Poison Ivy, should I really break my groove just to go drink? Hmmm.... Dennis is convincing, I was sold on the premise of pool so off I went to the Mission. Kilowatt was an epic fail with about 20 people waiting around to play. What the hell is that? I stood there for a minute trying to think... there was a bar around here that had a pool table, what was it... oh yah, Delirium! Delirium served it's purpose well, the PBR is cheap, the people friendly, and the pool table... um... pool table-ish. At any given time only 1 or 2 people waiting to play, not bad at all. I'd still be standing at Kilowat today 4 days later, waiting on my turn. If you're some fancy schmancy pool player with your own cue and high expectations, hold up. The pool table is merely satisfactory, this is no pool hall. The walls are so close you have to angle the cue at 45 degrees to make half the shots. There are 8 solids and 6 stripes. There are 20 people milling about near the table, messing up your shot at any given time. But if you're one like me who enjoys shooting some pool (regardless of quality) while hanging with pals, then this is the place. Next time Gestalt or Kilowatt are overflowing with people trying to flex their pool skills just say fuck it and roll to Delirium. I'd rather play on a so-so table than stand around not playing on good ones.

Yelp
This was my first tome attending this Bar, it was a suggestion from my best friend who knows all the hot spots! When we first walked in we were served right away. Pros: The drinks are good and they have a cute dance area for guests that enjoy dancing with fun disco lights Cons: No complaints, even the restroom was clean Tips: Ask the DJ to play your favorite hits Overall: I was so impressed and Im looking forward to returning
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
I had no idea there was a back room. The back room is what totally makes this place awesome. They were playing all sorts of great music back here and it's a good place to chill in the back. Last time I was here they were playing punk and it seemed more divey-dive and cramped and crowded. Not sure if the back room is a new edition but it totally makes it worthwhile. I also spied pinball in the back...who wants to play?
google avatar

Angie H.

Yelp
The "ALL YOU BITCHEZ ARE HERE 4 DAT SK8R DICK" in the bathroom stall is everything. you only go to Delirum to get shitty, that is all.
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
How am I the duchess here right now? This place is one of my favorite divey, dancing bars. Always a mixed crowd. One time I came on a weekday and saw a homeless guy trying to steal some bottles. Hahaha.
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
I almost wasn't sure if I was reviewing the right place because a lot of the older reviews were so highly rated. First of all, there's a $5 cover, which I immediately regretted paying for approximately 0.2 seconds after I walked in. I don't understand why there's a cover to begin with, as this place was not particularly packed and/or poppin. Secondly, the bar is cash only. I know cash is king but who really carries cash with them nowadays? The only cash I really had went toward the stupid cover. There is a dj and a back room to dance, but like everywhere else, it's super hot in there and super crowded...something about it made me feel like I was attending a college house party, which is definitely not my thing anymore. The bar itself looked old and outdated as well. A couple positives worth mentioning though, is that the drinks are supposedly cheap. There's a single pool table that we were able to use while we were there. And although we hardly went into the back room, the music was a decent mix of hip hop/r&b/pop. Also, because it wasn't so crowded it was very easy to grab a seat and table. We were there for about an hour or so but overall, there was nothing particularly outstanding about this place.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
My best friends and I went many times! Sometimes we get like 4 shots each, me not paying of course, sometimes we go and just sit there for 20 minutes and not buy anything bc we want to be sober for our movie at the Roxie. Either way, I love this place. Delirium #1 They have a dance floor behind the bar, so if you wanna dance, don't be deterred by the fact that it just looks like average bar, it is soooo much more
google avatar

Ting S.

Yelp
I'm not sure if this bar is my excuse for going to Monk's on a busy weekend night, just so I can guzzle a few cheap cocktails while waiting for a table, or if Monk's is my excuse to have a reason to stop here. Either way, Delirium may not be the best destination bar, but it is one of my favorite pitstops on the way elsewhere. Cheap, cheap drinks, the bartenders flex strong pouring muscles, and service is rendered fairly and quickly. If you're asking for anything more than a great dive, please take your hightail outta there so I can have that seat at the bar.
google avatar

Natalie D.

Yelp
Cheap, strong drinks! Excellent dive bar! Definitely poppin on a Monday night which I appreciated.

Yelp
This place is trashy af, we paid a cover and then there was a bar fight and my friend and I got tons of blood splatter all over us.
