French Chef Breaks Guinness Record For Most Cheese on Pizza

"Chef Benoit Bruel in Lyon spent much of the year assembling and documenting a record-breaking cheese-forward pizza that Guinness World Records has officially recognized for containing 254 different varieties of cheese (he actually assembled 257, but three last-minute additions were not counted). He unofficially bested the previous 154-variety mark earlier in February and then gathered the required evidence for validation, announcing the certification on Instagram and awaiting the official certificate and the full cheese list. A Guinness video of him weighing cheeses and reportage name-check several specific varieties—Tomme Artisanale Suisse de la Venoge aux truffes, Rocamadour, Manigodine, La Vieielle Louche, Quattrocento, raclette, Picolin, Comté (8 and 9 months), Chaource—while Bruel framed the achievement as culturally important for France and a product of patience, diligence, and careful flavor balancing." - Rachel Sugar

Very very impressive. Delicious pizza, thin as i like it, and French style. Glad to have met the chef, winner of Guinness book of records, for having put the most variety of cheese (254!!!!!) on a pizza 😮😯😲 Day 2 (one day later! ): Not just a take-away pizzeria, but full of character. I arrived at 21:00 and left at 22:30 with my pizza, talking to Ben and a couple of other regulars (even if I don't speak French!). A quiet Sunday suddenly turned out to be one of the nicest evenings in Lyon. Ben generously offered us craft beer, different types of salami (with chestnuts inside etc) and various types of cheese. Easy to get spoiled in this place 😊. See you next time. Soon a friend will come and ask for pizza "Leon"!
