I stayed at this hotel for one night during a road trip through Connemara national park. Delphi is easy to find, just off the main road. When I say main road it’s a country road through the mountains.||LOCATION The scenery around the Delphi is gorgeous. Lovely Mountain View’s from the restaurant and plenty of places to walk. It’s not too far from Killary fjord.||FACILITIES- Delphi has a spa, but it’s only open 10-6 so we never got chance to try it. It also has an activity centre there with various outdoor activities available. There is a newly built hostel next door to the main hotel, which looked very modern. The majority of people who work at this hotel are not Irish, they seem to be from other parts of Europe. There was a small gift shop on-site, but we never went in.||ROOM We booked a standard room, but got upgraded to a loft suite. It was big, with a sofa, tv, table/chairs and tea/coffee making facilities. There was also a door that led outside to a patio area. No furniture out there though. The bathroom was lovely with toiletries provided. The towels were very small though. The suite had an upstairs, with a quite steep wooden staircase. There was a bed, mirror and bedside cabinets up there. The room was quite hot & it wasn’t even hot weather outside. So I can imagine it gets very hot in hot weather. The room also was not very soundproof we could hear conversations in other rooms. We also could hear quite a bit of noise from the corridor.||FOOD we had to book a time for breakfast, which was quite annoying. It was a self service breakfast and the food was very tasty. There was a good selection and the restaurant overlooked mountains. It had calming music playing and felt very relaxed. We ate at the hotel on the evening too, 40euro for 2 courses. The food was very nice, but we found the starters to be better than the main courses. They do have a separate vegetarian/vegan menu which was good. I orders stuffed peppers which wet okay, probably wouldn’t have them again though as they wet l y that tasty. The tofu starter was delicious and looked great too. The oysters were apparently amazing and the lamb that my friend had was also tasty, just a bit over cooked. Again we needed to book a time to eat on the evening.||OVERALL I would definitely stay here again and maybe for a few nights rather than just one. I would definitely bring ear plugs due to the noise from other rooms and the corridor. The cleaner was even vacuuming at around 739am in the corridor. The hotel wasn’t busy when we stayed, so it would be worse when full. There was plenty of parking and the surrounding area is gorgeous.
