This place is a gem. Were there early August and it was quite and cool. Probably 30% of the campsites were occupied. Sites are gravel, as are the camp roads. Level enough. I loved it, and if I head that way again, I'm booking this place. So peaceful. After Yellowstone, Tetons, Arches, Bryce, and Zion, this place was awesome.

Nice, quiet campground (besides the coyotes in the middle of the night). Really clean pit toilet bathrooms at every loop. Really helpful and generous camp host. Maybe 20 minutes from Grand Canyon North Rim entrance. Beautiful quaking aspens and pine trees. Nearby gas station and lots of deer.

We had a nice 3-night stay here while visiting the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Lucky for us - we weren't able to book a reservation at the Grand Canyon Campground (spaces booked ahead of us) but as it turned out, the campground delayed its opening due to heavy snowfall this past winter. We would have been cancelled and out of luck! We checked into DeMotte on the first day it was open and the first day the Grand Canyon Park was open. Our site was a long pull-through complete with firepit and picnic table. Very dark skies at night. Lovely! This is dry camping with water available for filling jugs, but not your RV and no dump station. Pit toilets. No cell service here. There is at the park near the Visitor Center and Lodge. Gas station across the road has a few groceries as well as propane.

Demotte is The best place and authentic campground to be. Right in a Middle of the Kaibab natural forest. Very close (17 miles) to North rim / Grand canyon (the wilder one versus South or West rim which are full of tourists). Hiking, short scenic drive to impressive overlooks, ... and breathing pure air ... very far away from Las Vegas atmosphere. Local manager is so gentle. Price very low. Everything is well organized and maintained (place to park, toilet, water, firewood, ...). We spent two marvelous days-nights with our campervans and my little family (2 ladies 10 and 15 y old + wife). Great !

Our group had a wonderful experience at this campground. The last hour drive from Vegas was amazing! You can see the beautiful pine & aspen trees and the gorgeous meadows even during monsoon season. The campsites were not on top of each other in some areas. There were a few sites that were close to each other as we observed during our strolls. The sites were clean and spacious. We got 2 sites for our group, and we still had a short walk even being next to each other. The pit toilets were clean and well-maintained. There is a hand sanitizer provided just outside each bathroom. There's also potable water right outside each bathroom. The loop gravel road is one way only. A couple of guys who drove a van came in the wrong way in our loop speeding close to 11pm. After they found a spot, they were opening and closing their van door causing so much noise and kept us from sleeping. Other than that, i would recommend this campground. We also had a pleasure of meeting another camper, John, who used to work for the forest service, and he made the kids and dads walking sticks from the wood around.

Nice Campground outside of the north rim. General store across the street, and Lodge with souvenirs and a small restaurant next door. Was able to find some great "dirt" roads to ride my bike

Site 1. Fit 2 vehicles easily. Had a gravel tent area, fire pit, and picnic table. I chose to sleep in truck camper shell. Nearby pit style restrooms are lit at night and we're very clean. There is water spicket next to restroom for drinking water filling. Also, Campground gas provided a grey 6 gallon water tank for putting out campfires that is located next to spicket. Campground hosts have a phone for emergencies, electricity to charge devices and are generally really nice folks. There is an amphitheater nearby that would be cool to watch slideshows or movies on. There is a buffet breakfast available at the Kaibab lodge next door. The trail connecting Campground to lodge is by the Campground host site.
