The accommodations are very nice. I recommend upgrading to a premier room where you have a larger room, a balcony with a view, and it’s more updated. The staff is very nice and having a shuttle available to take you to various locations is a great amenity. We had a great dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. It was much better than the meal that we had at the sister property, which was at the Grande Denali Hotel. There is some walking involved to get to the room so if you have any mobility issues you would want to request something that was on the upper level of the property. There are no elevators so having a room on a lower floor is also recommended for mobility issues. would definitely stay here again if I ever have the opportunity to return to the area.

I wanted to give this motel a 5 because I love the location and it reminded me of camp since the buildings are separate and it’s on a hill. However I felt for the price they could have offered breakfast and the least have coffee in the lobby. Food options were scarce. They have a nice restaurant on site but it doesn’t open until 4 and it’s pricey. The other morning cafe on site had all grab-n-go very expensive options. The employees were knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were clean and nice but didn’t have ac or any fans and your stuck with leaving the window open to hear the hwy trucks and light until midnight. |I loved the shuttle service as it ran pretty much all day and took you down the hill and across to the park visitor center. I was also impressed with the baggage handling and train service.

Situated up on a mountainside this hotel offers magnificent views. The room was clean and the staff friendly. They have shuttle service to downtown and the visitor/railway station that runs every hour. There is a breakfast area with limited menu and it is basically cafeteria style. They either ran out of breakfast sandwiches or they had not been delivered one day that we stayed there. There is a full restaurant and bar in the lower part of the lobby building open in the afternoon and evening. The rooms can be difficult to get to especially if you have any limited mobility. Everything is either up or down with very little level ground. The highest level rooms have stairs to be climbed, no elevator. There is no safe in the room. You also have to be checked out of your room by 10am! Seems a little early. There is a laundry room but make sure to go to the front desk to purchase detergent. Over all it was a pleasant experience.

Google
This hotel was a big disappointment from the very beginning. First of all, the checkout time is 10:00 am. For the room with a rate of around $460.00, the customer should be allowed to stay at least until 11 am., Parking is another issue. Minimal parking spaces, and you should look for the space down the hill. Even after finding the space, you should keep the car there; otherwise, if you drive out, you may return to see that your spot is occupied. Management lined up parking spots for tour buses instead of increasing the number of parking spots for cars and planned overnight parking spots for buses along the highway. Meals. Breakfast is limited to a small bistro with a limited menu and a line of people waiting for food. The hotel administration is sending people up the hill to another hotel with a breakfast buffet. In this case, you have the option to drive the car or wait for the shuttle, which starts relatively late, so you may not have time to eat breakfast and make it to the tour's starting time. The front desk didn't even mention that there is another hotel with a breakfast buffet within a 10-minute walk across the highway. The room size is okay, but the window heater was very loud and blew wind directly to the bed. When you are charged a high room rate, the customer expects that such an issue will be resolved on another technical level. On the positive side, I should mention very helpful electric cart drivers, who frequently run their carts across the property, picking up guests with luggage and helping them find their rooms.

Great experience. Staff is top notch. So helpful, friendly and informative. Kate, Jayden, Seth were amazing. Be sure and book your tours through the front desk. It seems that most of the staff have recently been on these tours and have all the "insider information." We are already planning a trip back. When every single staff member you come in contact with is friendly, enthusiastic, helpful, and knowledgeable, you know that that comes from the top.

In one word Fantastic! It was the second week of June, the weather was crisp and the sun was shining as we drove up the mountain road to Denali Bluffs. Everything about our stay was fantastic. At check-in we were greeted by Kate from Florida (we are from Florida too!). Kate reviewed everything with us and helped us with tours and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Then we met Jaden who assured us that if we needed anything we could ask him, very comforting. Austin helped us with our heavy bags upstairs into our room. That was just the first day! The view was incredible. The ladies in the coffee shop were very nice, the shuttle drivers were nice, the staff in the restaurant gave us hints of what to look for on the tour Kate set-up for us. We met a wonderful lady from Pennsylvania, we think her name was Sharee, she was so much fun. As an owner of a business myself I am always concerned with customer service, and I try very hard to hire the right employees. I must give credit to the management and owners of Denali Bluffs. You got it right, your staff is perfectly chosen. On our second day we saw Denali. We had no idea this was so special until we showed the picture to Kate and Jaden that day, and they informed us we are in the 30% club. How Cool, definitely one of my best bucket-list vacations ever!

Google
Very, very mediocre. And for the price, one would expect MUCH better accommodations. The room was small and had a very low ceiling making it feel even smaller that it is. The bathroom smelled like mold: there are only a few rooms with a view. Lower your expectations and you will be ok. Lower them a lot and try not to compare this place to a $400 a night hotel in the lower 48 or Europe. Every so often there was a horrific sewage smell.

Google
Bare bones room with minimal amenities. There was no lotion, one hand towel, no daily cleaning or even trash service. $28 for a burger at the grill, $42 for ribs! The only good part was our luggage arrived directly to our room from the train and the shuttle service that was provided.

Yelp
First of all, you are paying for the view at this place, which by the way is spectacular. The staff is friendly enough, but they only wanted to give me one room key when I checked in. I asked for a second as we are traveling with others and my husband may want to go back to the room without me or take off while I'm gone. They said "we typically don't give out more than one key" but they ended up doing it because I was insistent. The cafe area is cute, but for a 12 oz bottle of water they want $4. Go down the hill and get it at the convenience store, it's only a buck (Kirkland brand). Pillows are hard, linens are cheap. No high thread count here. There are no glasses in your room, so if you choose to have a bottle of wine on your patio, you'll be drinking it out of paper coffee cups. Also, they only give you one hand towel (why be stingy on towels?) and the soap is just a sliver. Barely enough to use to wash your hands before it's all gone. You practically have to be an engineer to figure out the heater. It's cold this time of year, my husband happens to not be feeling well, and when I woke up this morning it was 58 degrees. I turned on (or at least I thought I did) the heater but it didn't stay on. Had to fiddle with it to get it up to 68 degrees. They have laundry facilities which was great since we came off a cruise and needed to do laundry. I haven't been to a laundermat in years, but I certainly don't remember it being $5 per load and $5 to dry! They gouge you here for some reason, maybe they feel you'll never be back so it's alright? As far as dining goes, we were reluctant to eat here as it was very expensive and found a better, more affordable place down the road. Unfortunately they don't have microwaves in the room, only coffee makers but no creamers and no Splenda. Just the basic coffee condiments. Parking is terrible, as is the pathways to get to your room. If you are even remotely handicapped or have joint issues, it's difficult. We had quite a bit of luggage and was not offered a cart to help us. Overall, this place is disappointing. They gotcha and they know it. Too bad places like this rely on tourists and take advantage of them thinking they will never be back. We intend to come back to Denali, just not to the Denali Bluffs Hotel.

Yelp
I thought the Denali Bluffs hotel was a great stay during our overnight journey from Fairbanks to Anchorage with the stop in Denali Park. Good: the view was amazing! We had a river view room (well partial river view) and you could see the surrounding mountains and sunset. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. Rooms were great with heat and AC. Bus also comes and picks you up to get around the Denali park and to the bus depot! Bad: Walls are thin, like many people have said, if you're on the first floor, you'll hear everything, including the people walk into the room upstairs. Our room also wasn't ready in time (2 hours past check in time of 3:00) and they didn't call us to let us know our room was ready. Kind of frustrating. Also the room check out was 10 am! $200+ for like an 18 hour stay. Parking is also limited, if you don't get the 9 or so spots by the lobby, you'll have to walk up the hill to get to your room. However there is a golf cart with a driver helping guests around. Beds were okay, rooms were spacious, and our deck was nice having a outdoor view facing west. Overall, pretty average/good stay despite the flaws and overall I wouldn't mind staying here again if passing through Denali.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights in late July. I was a little worried because of negative reviews by fellow yelpers but I was pleasantly surprised. We got the newer rooms (Tenana wing), a corner room at the very end so we were surrounded by views of the mountains from 2 sides. There was a wrap around deck with a little table and chairs. The hotel is on the hill (hence the name Denali Bluffs) which made for nice views but a heck of a trek back up when you want to visit the little shopping village below. The shopping village has places to eat and several souvenir stores. They do have a shuttle that can take you back and forth but the front desk guy told us to walk down and have them bring you back up as the transit time can be 45 min (the shuttle route includes a number of other stops). There's a restaurant on property and a quick service place that has sandwiches, drinks, snacks etc. It closes by 6 I think. Front desk staff was pretty friendly and helpful. The pros: *clean room with rustic wood paneling *Comfortable bed, pillow could be fluffier *Shower water nice and hot *Fairly spacious room (1 king bed) *Wrap around deck w/pretty views *Fridge, Keurig coffee maker w/coffee and teas *Ample USB and plugs for charging *curtains blocked the light *AC/heater unit (didn't use) The cons: *lots of noise from the busy highway in front *smoke alarm installed close to the sleeping area- intermittent blinking was annoying at night * wooden floors so could clearly hear people walking upstairs above you (no one in the adjacent room so can't tell you about next door noise) *no Wi-Fi connection in lower units -we had to stay by the front office) * no in room microwave FYI-I sleep with earplugs so noise doesn't bother me but I'm sure others would be annoyed with the people walking above. All in all it was a nice stay, we'd stay here again

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL! Any review left in the past week is clearly an AI generated review. I wish I could leave negative starts. Denali Bluffs Hotel doesn't even deserve one star. This hotel is unethical, greedy and has no concern for the safety of their guests. Paulette, the manager, does not care about hotel guests and is willing to sacrifice their safety for money. I wouldn't touch this place with a 10-foot pole. We were supposed to stay at the hotel 7/4-7/6. The Riley Creek Wildfire broke out 6/30 and because of this the hotel's operations were impacted. There was no power in the days leading up to our stay and the phone lines did not re-open until the day AFTER we were supposed to arrive. In the days leading up to our stay we tried to call the hotel almost every other hour to check on the status of safety and operations. When we couldn't reach anyone at the hotel, we reached out to the Denali Chamber of Commerce to see if they knew how to contact our hotel. Denali Bluffs Hotel did not send an email or post anything on their website to let guests know the status of their operations. Since there was no way to know if the hotel was open, we were forced to make alternate hotel arrangements. We were finally able to reach someone at Denali Bluffs Hotel on 7/5 in the afternoon (the day AFTER we were supposed to arrive). We were told that we would not be getting a refund because they do not offer refunds within 14 days of arrival. While this is a reasonable policy under normal circumstances...it is NOT reasonable or ethical to not offer a refund if there is a natural disaster that is beyond the control of guests. Denali Bluffs claims that on 7/4 their business was not impacted by the fires and therefore would not offer a refund...but their phone lines were down and guests had no way to contact the hotel to know if it safe or even open...that sure does sound like an impact to me. According to Paulette, the manager, we should have driven 5+ hours from Anchorage with our toddler to see if they were open. Denali Bluffs new hotel slogan: Stay with us if you and your money want to burn! Great views!

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience. The staff, including the front desk manager (she was incredible) made it such an enjoyable stay. Upon arrival, we received advice on how to make the most of our trip with local activities. We ended up doing a heli-hike (based on their recommendation) which was a life changing experience. The grounds were nice, clean, and maintained. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Parking was easy, and the staff at the on-site bar/restaurant we're also great. We actually went to the "nice restaurant" at the Princess Cruises Hotel in our first evening, thinking we wanted fine dining. That was disappointing (cheap pour on drinks and food was mediocre). I guess my advice is stick with the local, non corporate businesses when in this area. This is a local business that has value really wanting to celebrate the community.

Ronald P.

Yelp
Over priced food that is basically awful. Rooms are ok. Lodge is not cozy. No real bar.

Yelp
I am so happy that I chose this hotel. I had read reviews and knew that I didn't want to be on the ground floor because you hear people walking above you. So I got a second floor room and walked without shoes to be considerate of those under me. My room was 24 in building 24. It has a great view. The staff are pleasant and helpful. They operate a shuttle into the park which runs only once per hour. It also stops in the little town but the town is close enough to walk to. I found that a big benefit. I picked up supplies and made some meals in my room. There's a refrigerator and coffee maker. The restaurant of the hotel has a limited menu that didn't appeal to me. But I'm sure it did to others. The front desk staff offer to put people on a list for wake up calls when the aurora is visible but the list is very long. They gave me excellent advice and told me when to set my own alarm and where to go outside to look. It worked. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful regarding things to do in the park. My bag was delivered to my room after my arrival by train and brought down from my room and transported to the train for me when I was leaving. The grounds are pretty with many separate building of maybe a dozen rooms in each. Unlike other hotels that use overpowering floral sprays, this room smelled lightly of cedar.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at the Denali Bluffs Hotel. I wish we would have planned a longer stay! It is located inside Denali National Park and there is so much to see and do there. We had to wait a bit to get into our room, but the grounds were nice to just sit and relax while waited. The room was spacious and clean. Cost was reasonable, and the view from our room was worth the price! We had a wrap around porch with incredible panoramic views of the park. You will not be able to see Denali from the hotel. So if you are lucky enough to see it on your way into the park, take lots of pictures then. The restaurant on site had excellent food, and they also had a small sandwich shop. Both options were a little expensive, but the food was good quality. The hotel is also within walking distance of shops and more restaurants, but it is a fairly steep walk on the way back up. They do offer shuttle service though. If you are planning a stay at Denali park, I would highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
Get any room in building 26!!!!!! The views are amazing. No obstruction. Be careful of mosquitoes. But the service was ok. The biggest complaint I had was the dank smelling bathroom. The shower curtain smelled bad but they were sooooo short staffed that no one changed it out. Also, you have to get your own towels. It's a busy time for them.

Yelp
stayed here for one night and I had a great experience. They were able to accommodate my request being on the ground level due to stroller. It was a bit confusing where to park, but one of the workers showed me and even walk me to the parking lot. I have a great room and a little balcony overlooking the mountains. I didn't really get to enjoy the lounge or the restaurant because it was such a quick trip. They have a microwave in the restaurant if you need to heat up your food. Other than that it was a great service. The staff was very helpful with my questions regarding tourist staff. I will stay here again.

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel in the small tourist town of Denali. It's not perfect but it still deserves a 5. Here's why: They go out of their way to help. Our bus tour somehow was deleted, even though we had it fully paid. Their concierge worked to get it corrected and the hotel manager gave is a ride to the bus Depot just in time. An A+ for service! The rooms were clean and updated. The pillows were not my favorite but that's a small issue. The rooms were quiet but the air conditioner was something I wasn't used to. They have bus service to any place nearby, and it's free. Service was always fast and very friendly.

Rick D.

Yelp
Nice rooms and location but we caught them on the tail end of the season and it was like a ghost town. Down the street was hopping. Suggestion: if you are charging full price continue to offer full service. If you are shutting down for the season with limited services/food, etc reduce your rates accordingly.

Sheri H.

Yelp
Loved our stay here. Really classy hotel. Comfortable beds, beautiful views, good food, and a shuttle service.

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel four stars due to the view we had from our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The only irritating thing was that check out was at 10 AM. The hotel was in walking distance to the downtown strip or you could take a shuttle. This is the sister hotel to the Grand Denali which sits a little higher up on the mountain. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. There is a restaurant on site and a small café. The café was not impressive. And if you wanted breakfast you had to get there before 10. However the place had spectacular views of the Denali area.

Yelp
I wish I had researched this hotel more before booking. Room was an absolute dump. Heater was falling off the wall, the fan in the bathroom was hanging by the wire. The room had no AC and so the staff left the sliding door open. Room was crawling with bugs. Asked the front desk if we could switch and they told me they were overbooked and could not accommodate anything. Turns out, their sister hotel that shares the same website had a room available with AC. I asked if I could pay the difference and switch. Nope. Had to pay another $900 on top of the $700 I had already paid. Since they were overbooked they probably gave our original room away as soon as we left.

Michelle B.

Yelp
I first want to say that the views from the lobby are astonishing, almost like being in the national park. The price, from what I have heard, is less than the full-service hotels on the main street. My main concerns is that Denali Bluffs ought to keep its rustic charm, but update to 2023 expectations. No wifi in the rooms? I couldn't even use my phone to call off the property. I spent a lot of time in the lobby, just slept, cleaned up, and watched TV in the room. Investing in some wifi hotspots, available on request, would really help. I also don't think it would be too much to ask if this hotel had a small free breakfast station: coffee and donuts, etc. The cafe is fine for breakfast sandwiches, gourmet coffee, turkey sandwiches, etc. The front desk tries to be helpful; they're more knowledgeable during the day. They even let me use their printer. Connections to downtown, the visitor center, etc. are available by free shuttle The coach transport from Anchorage (extremely well-organized!) dropped us at the door.

Sandi S.

Yelp
Limited availability of even coffee before 5a.m. with many excursions departing at 430. Overall, disappointing.

Yelp
I am not sure why this place has such a bat rating on Yelp, because we had an excellent experience from top to bottom. I think a lot of the rooms are pre-renovation. We stayed in 8 different hotels during our 2 weeks in Alaska and this one was easily the best. Overall the thing we liked best about it was the rooms felt like staying at a person's home and not overly hotel-y with a bunch of stuff and amenities you don't need. Check in was easy. We scored a spot in their small parking lot at the top of the hill - if none are available, definitely drop your bags before parking as rolling them up the hill (and around the property) can be a chore. Check in process was friendly and they oriented us to their restaurant and the rest of the property. We got what, in my opinion, must be one of the best rooms - and upstairs corner room at the far end of the property, with a wraparound balcony. It was a haul to get out there, and no elevator to the second floor with luggage, but we didn't mind. The room itself was fantastic - brand new interior with a "cabin chic" feel. The balcony was a huge plus, bathroom was nice, clean and new, big comfy bed, Keurig & mini fridge, and a chair. And, our favorite part - air conditioning, which is not a guarantee in Alaska but definitely needed in the summer when it is 85+ and the sun shines 24/7. We went to the restaurant a few times too, it was ok but very pricey. Overall we were really happy with our two days at the hotel. I don't think we would have been as happy in a different room, such as a first floor interior which we definitely walked by. Also, be aware that it is very expensive ($350+ per night), but rates are competitive for the small town outside Denali.

Yelp
Horrible customer service I had been trying to call the front desk for 3 weeks and all I got was an answering machine. Not sure why they have an answering machine if they don't call back potential customers back. I can only imagine the customer service at the hotel if it's this bad before you get to the hotel. If you don't believe me try calling.

Yelp
When I put together a package for us to visit Denali National Park prior to boarding a cruise taking us from Anchorage to Vancouver, I selected Denali Bluffs. My first choice was one of the cruise line lodges but their total price was significantly higher than what we found with Denali Bluffs. And descriptions of their rooms and amenities seemed reasonable as well as decent reviews. We expected to be underwhelmed but ended up being impressed. We arrived from Anchorage by way of Alaska Railroad and the Denali Bluffs bus was waiting at the train station to take us to the lodge. First of all, Denali Bluffs is not a high end luxury hotel. But it is clean, comfortable, and competent at what they do. They provide free WiFi in case you just can't completely leave civilization behind, and, although it is a little slow, we were able to move forward on a real estate deal that was in the works back home in Michigan while in the shadow of Alaskan mountains. The friendly staff work hard to make your stay better than expected starting with the shuttle from the train station, through checking in, getting settled in our rustic room, the on-site restaurant, box lunches made up for your tour into Denali National Park, and transfers to and from the park Visitor Center. And the scenery from the Denali Bluffs is indescribably beautiful and, by itself is well worth the stay. We certainly enjoyed our time there and using it as our base to explore Denali National Park and have fond memories of our stay. If back in this area, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Yelp
We had one of our best family vacations ever. The staff was extra friendly and always asking what they could do for us. Having the free shuttle was a bonus. They have a number of shuttles that run every 20 to anywhere you want to go. The rooms we stayed in had a spectacular view of Denali National Park. They were new and just opened these four new building this season. Riding the train from Anchorage on the Wilderness Express was great. When we arrived at the train station the staff from Denali Bluffs captured our luggage and took it to our room. The same when we left. They picked it up from our room and we will see it again in Anchorage. The restaurant was quiet and never crowded. Food was above average and a little pricy but what we expected in Alaska. Highly recommended Denali Bluffs. No surprises at all. I hope we can come back and spend a week and venture deeper into Denali National Park.

Yelp
Great location to the park entrance. Five minute walk to restaurants. Friend staff. Easy self-laundry access. Rooms are ok for the price. Location makes up for it.

Lori M.

Yelp
The rooms are small. There was no air circulation in our room. Our room phone did not work, called front desk but was never fixed. The restaurant food was greasy fried or blah tasting. They are in need of customer service training as the host, wait staff, and front desk were extremely rude. Bring your own food as the grab and go closes early and the restaurant is horrible. There are no food establishments near the hotel and nothing within walking distance. Their sister hotel was much better, Grand Denali. The wait staff at the Alpenglow was awesome but you have to take a shuttle to get there.

Yelp
If you book a room at Denali Bluffs Hotel, make sure to request a room with a view because there is a vast difference in the room types. We had a reservation here made through the railroad and, being Denali, this was the most expensive room on our itinerary. Initially we had a lower room in the older buildings and it was like a small room in your grandma's basement. It was tiny, musty, and dark with no view at all. We asked for another room and they were sold out but fortunately had the ADA room available in the new building. We upgraded and it was worth it, so much nicer, bigger and beautiful with a view that was absolutely amazing. They were nice about moving our luggage to the new room for us and we were overall very satisfied with the service we received in the new room. The only thing that was not wonderful was the low water pressure and the lack of hot water. At the strongest there was simply a slow flow of luke warm water. The beds were comfortable and the grounds were well maintained. They have a nice pavillion overlooking the river below and the mountain range in the park with a fire place, but it was not burning while we were there. Inside the lobby, there are helpful employees ready to assist with excursions and transportation options in the area. The shuttle from the hotel will take you into town as well as into the visitor center of Denali Park where you can catch more free shuttles to go into the park a little further. Definitely the best service available. The Perky Moose cafe in the lobby also offered decent coffee and light breakfast options for the morning. They even do a packed lunch to go for $18.00 to enjoy your day at the park. They request you order the night before, but were nice enough to throw one together for me to take with me the same day. Overall a decent, while not the fanciest place to stay in the area. Just another word of advice, the cute sign with the mosquito carrying away the person is not a joke. Bring insect repellent if you want to walk around or keep your doors open while you are at the hotel, you will definitely need it for the Alaska sized pests.

Stuart D.

Yelp
Stayed two nights as part of Alaska Railway package. Room was basic, clean, except mildewed shower curtain. One sink outside bathroom, so if you needed the sink, you were next to a bed. Limited choice of dining. A small deli in main lobby 6-2 daily, a small grill just behind lobby opened at 5pm. Shuttle that ran a loop to Tesoro gas station in town, then to bus depot, then to two affiliated properties, and a couple of times each day to the train depot. Walking to small downtown business area possible, but it's in a steep winding road with lots of curves. Staff was very helpful.

Yelp
We had a lovely stay here for one night in building 24. The view on the balcony is gorgeous. Huge shout of to the super helpful, friendly, and patient staff who are knowledgeable about giving advice on what to do in Denali. Argelia and Jessie went to great lengths to help us book a flight very last minute for a glacier landing tour which was amazing and absolutely took our breath away. That tour wouldn't be possible without these two staff!! And a big shout out to Teddy who's been helpful and amused my parents with his unexpected Mandarin skills, and kept them happy when waiting for me getting info from Jessie. Overall this seemed like a very lively and organic community who are running the cabins as a hotel. They even grow their own veggies that you can spot scattered around the property. Reminded me of student co-ops in universities except much less messy :) We do hope they would provide more food options other than traditional American food mostly fried and heavy, esp for those who are vegan or want a somewhat healthy diet. Apart from that, we're very satisfied with our time here.

Yelp
The location of this hotel is sure to be the highlight of your stay here, but what may surprise you is the excellent service you will receive. The staff members are always happy to help and will go above and beyond to make sure your stay here is without trouble. I had several important questions answered in a professional, satisfactory manner, and when I needed something for my room they brought it to me quick without asking if I wanted it brought. The rooms were spacious and clean and the view from our large balcony was great. Overall a great experience that I would recommend for anybody staying in Denali. Like Chick-fil-A, the employees here always say "my pleasure" in response to a expression of thanks from a guest. From what I could tell, they took pleasure in helping, and the pleasure was mine as well throughout my stay.

Yelp
Cozy rustic looking hotel. It's on a hill so be prepared for a little uphill walking . Room is very functional. So far no hoards of large groups . Shuttle stops here to visitors center and bus depot. There are many restaurants and stores walking distance . For that matter you can probably walk to the visitors center too as it is about 1.5 miles

Yelp
We just arrived in Denali after taking the train. We are staying at the #DenaliBluffsHotel. (Denali Bluffs Hotel) Denali Bluffs Hotel is iffy - all depends on the room you get. Ours has no AC but some rooms do, so ask. Also reserve a king rather than request. And reserve a room in building 25. Best unobstructed view. (Check to make sure it has AC though) In our room, the sliding glass door (only way to circulate air) is not sealed properly and is currently duct taped to keep bugs and mosquitoes out. Even with a fan, room is uncomfortably warm. Because we must keep the slider open to circulate air, the room is bright all night long. Daylight bright as we cannot close the black out curtains. We asked for the screen to be fixed, we are on day 2 and maintenance has not been by. Marsha the security attendant was kind enough to duct tape the screen but not before mosquitoes found their way into the room. The first night they swarmed and unfortunately we were their feast. The 2nd night we could keep the door open since the screen was duct taped. We asked to be moved and so far Management has offered us no other accommodations or even complimentary vouchers etc for this terrible experience. The hotel is convenient to shopping and restaurants. If you have any mobility issues, this hotel is situated in the bluffs and has stairs, hills etc to traverse from your room to the lobby and to the boardwalk shopping area. Gave it 2 stars because of #Marsha(5 star employee!) and the convenience to park, pick up by tours and walking distance to the boardwalk.

Yelp
I stayed here for 2 nights last week with my wife while in the Denali area. We arrived at the hotel shortly after 1 PM and asked if we could check in. Thankfully our room was ready and within a reasonable amount of time we were headed to it. Denali Bluffs has a sort of weird set up where there are bunches of different buildings of different levels in a tiered setting. The reasoning behind this I am sure was to get more people more a view out into the park. We had booked a deluxe room and so we were one of the rooms with a nice little deck on the outside of it. Beyond that our 2 double bed room was somewhat on the narrow side but had a huge vaulted ceiling that made it feel much more spacious. It was also nice that they had the sink outside of the bathroom so that someone could be using it if another person was in the shower. The beds in the room were comfortable enough and my only complaint about our room was that the second night I could hear other people moving around. What really perplexed me about this is that we were on the top floor of the building so could I hear people moving around underneath us or was it someone in one of the rooms beside us? Unfortunately hearing other people is one of my biggest pet peeves. The only other thing I didn't like about the hotel was their parking situation. They only had room for maybe 10 cars near the lobby and had an overflow lot a little further away and a little down the hill. This wasn't exactly ideal if you were transporting your luggage. The bottom line for me is I might stay here again in the future. I wasn't a huge fan of the price of the room, especially when considering its star rating, however it was undoubtedly very convenient to the national park. That combined with the fairly comfortable room make it worthwhile to at least consider if you want a place close to Denali National Park.

Yelp
My travel agency booked this hotel for us as a part of the tour package so I can't comment on the cost. My family stayed at the Bluffs for 2 nights during our visit to Denali. We stayed in Building 21 which was the farthest away from the highway so we couldn't hear anything from the highway. Our room was cleaned when we arrived which was way before the check in time. The staff here was very friendly. I like that they had the laundry facility on site.

Yelp
Great looking room, full of amenities. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful. Price is on point for a place this pimpin but its may so I'm sure that goes up later in the summer. Bit hard to find off the highway, but no complaints. I was expecting a dodgy lookin room based off yelp but the bluffs is a wonderful surprise. pictures to come.

Yelp
B ASIC room, noisy if you're on the first floor, walls and ceiling are thin in this cheaply built place. Oddly furnished that made terrible use of the small room. 3 outlets in the room, and they are used by the tv, table light, and mini fridge. NO MICROWAVE in your room, you have to walk to the laundry room to use one. Beds were comfy, staff friendly and mostly helpful. No coffee In the lobby like most hotels.... Noooo , you must go into the over priced cafe. A basic 12oz coffee will cost $3.50, prices climb from there. A plain bagel that you toast yourself costs $4. A bagel sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon, $11.00! Be smart and bring your own food, but they make you walk around looking for a microwave to make it. We tried The onsite restaurant , was ok, but also way overpriced. I had a cheeseburger, a nice sized one, and a small portion of fries.. $17, wife had the fish and chips, $20. A local draft beer, $7. To some this may sound ok, but we aren't used to paying this much for ordinary food. On all it was ok, if we return to Denali, unlikely we will stay here again.

Yelp
I stayed here with my family and friends. Very nice hotel, updated and clean. Receptionists and baggage handlers were really nice. We were in their brand new building with amazing mountain views (just no views of Denali/Mt. McKinley, it was behind other mountains, unfortunately my family was expecting views of Denali/Mt. McKinley). The air is crisp and fresh. We stayed here for 2 days and both days it was about 89 degrees and high humidity. I didn't think we'd need the rooms AC, but we did and it worked great! They have a shuttle service that brings you to their other resort, Grande Denali Lodge and they also bring you to 'town' which is close enough to walk to, just a lot of downhill/uphill walking. Town is nice, a small strip mall with souvenir shops, places to snack and eat, excursion/rental companies and some ice cream.

Yelp
I agree with Sean from Seattle. This hotel is fine and works for Denali park plans. We've been wiped out by the end of the day and the beds are comfortable enough. However, bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The walls are made of vellum, so every sound your neighbor makes will be heard (and, ahem, vice versa). Also, our room was in bldg. 14, right near Park Hwy----which is well traveled at all hours of the day. So, I did wake up a few times in the night to the sound of a roaring truck. Fortunately, I was tired enough to conk right back out. Service is friendly---helpful with excursions, etc. The Perky Moose gift shop café serves good to-go coffee. And, there are laundry facilities to freshen up your packs. Free Wi-Fi isn't fast, but it is free. So, do your yelp-work and weigh the cost/benefits of this and other hotels. You should be okay here, unless you have champagne tastes.

Yelp
This is probably the least-expensive full-service hotel in the canyon and it's clearly not as fancy as the Grande or the Princess. If you stay here, get a room in building 10. The location works, though; it's just up the hill from the Salmon Bake and much more convenient to the gift shops than the Grande or the hotels south of the park entrance. It will cost a bit more, but along with your king-size bed you also get the world's greatest shower. The shower heads (at least in the upstairs rooms) release so much water that the particular design is probably illegal in most western states. If you consider a hotel room's purpose to be nothing more than a place to sleep and a place to clean up, a deluxe room at the Bluffs is a pretty good deal.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay and was pleased with most everything it had to offer. Had to walk an uphill slope to our room in an older building, but it wasn't too bad. Loved the balcony and view we had. The cafe and restaurant were nice. The shuttle to town and to the national park was nice since we didn't have a car and were dropped off by the Connection Bus when we arrived. There was really no temperature control in the room, but we were comfortable most of the time, since it was cooler outside. The washroom sink was unusually low and separate from the tub/toilet room, which was also unusual. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The Denali Bluffs Hotel is basically a Motel 6 just outside of Denali National Park. It is a 2 star hotel with a 4+ hotel price. I booked in February for a July stay and most hotels were already completely booked. Denali Bluffs Hotel was still available at over $300 per night. The room was extremely small and was fair condition at best. The weather was 80 degrees and the rooms do not have A/C or even a fan. The bathroom is dated and the toilet seat is gross. The sink is in the living area, which means all of your guests get to watch you wash your hands, brush your teeth, etc. This was very inconvenient when someone wakes up in the middle of the night to pee and they wash their hands. The TV was smaller than a computer monitor.

Yelp
Eh. Booked this hotel at the last minute for a 2 night stay. The reservation process was nice and easy, and we were given a room in the new buildings. The room itself was nice. Wood panel interior. Balcony. Nice bathroom, however the heat lamps made it kinda unbearable in the bathroom, and the only way to keep the lamps off was to use only a little light from a second light switch, which wasn't ideal. Location is good though. First night was fine except for all the street traffic we heard. We wanted to sleep with the windows open because the lacquer smell from the wood was overwhelming and just smelled like it would give us cancer, but as a tradeoff the cars on the nearby street kept us up. Second night, we got neighbors in the room next door, and this is when we realized how paper thin the walls truly were. We could hear EVERYTHING going on in the room, and lost hours of sleep as a result. Also of note, checkout is extremely early at 10 am, and when I asked for a late checkout due to the no sleep I got thanks to the neighbors, I was told the best they could do was an additional half hour, even when I offered to pay for more time so we could sleep. For $200/night, I wasn't really happy.

Yelp
At first glance it looks great. The outside has a bit of a rustic feel, while the inside looks modern and comfortable. The staff are also very nice and personable and willing to help. That's about as good as it gets. While the staff are quite nice and willing to help, they also seem very inexperienced. A willingness to help isn't all that's needed to help. Also, while they do deliver your luggage up from the train station for you, ours (along with the luggage of several other people) was mistakenly taken to their sister hotel, wasting our time while we waited for our luggage to arrive. The only place in this hotel to get internet is the lobby: you cannot get any internet in the rooms. And the internet in the lobby I found did block some sites. While no major sites (that I know of) seem to be blocked, to block any sites at all seems unnecessary and annoying to me. Now about the rooms: while located on a hill and having the potential to have an amazing view, you must pay extra for that: most of the rooms' views are blocked by trees growing right in front of the windows. Furthermore, the rooms are extremely tiny. I regularly travel with my family of 4 (including myself) and usually a room with 2 queen size beds is just enough for us, but here the rooms are far too cramped. In all, while the site makes the hotel seem nice, and it even looks nice in person, it has far too many negative aspects and potential wasted on greed for it to be very good.

Yelp
This is the best deal for the price in the Denali Park area. Not a luxury resort by any means, but very clean, superbly great staff (summer 2015), free shuttle service all over to the park and places you need to go, and surprisingly great restaurant on the premises (Mountaineer Grill - see my review for it.). It was the perfect "base camp" for us to explore Denali. Beds are ok. Views are spectacular. The entire grounds are clean and nicely decorated and landscaped. Staff is more than willing and quick to take care of any needs you have. We needed help with getting bags to the room, a lightbulb replaced, and an extra towel. All were taken care of within minutes. I recommend this place to couples, families, or groups traveling together. Maybe not for honeymooners unless there is a detached cabin/room . [News to folks from the Lower 48: EVERYTHING in Alaska is expensive. This especially includes lodging and food, so please judge price value by Alaska standards, not what you're used to on a road trip.]

Yelp
The first and most important issue for me was the noise. We were on the first floor and it sounded like a herd of elephants were showering and having loud conversations at their party upstairs. I'm sure the people upstairs were not stomping around or shouting. The walls are just super thin. I luckily had ear plugs but damage was already done when the noise woke me up at 11:00 and we had to meet our tour bus at 6:30am. The second issue is the temperature. It's been hot in this area this week. There is only heat in the rooms. You can open the windows but then you have more noise and we were on the first floor so I did not feel comfortable opening the window. Last issue is the room itself. If you don't get lucky enough to have a room with a view, your view will consist of the wall of the next building. You are literally staring at the wall. Not comfortable at all. I also wish hotels would all invest in full mattress covers. It cannot be a huge investment and would make customers like me feel so much more comfortable.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise after reading blah yelp reviews! Great place for the price and the area. Staff is very attentive, room was clean and the views (bc it's up on a hill) are awesome. Staff brought us a mini fridge after we asked for one. Definitely would stay here again! Enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Skip the restaurant and go downtown or up to the grande. Food was not good, drinks were not worth it and very overpriced for what you received.

Yelp
Wow, the prior reviews are harsh. Maybe the rooms are cramped if you try to squeeze in four people, but we found ours roomy and comfortable. The decor is rustic-chic, and yes, you have views of the trees -- without the trees, you'd be more likely to see the building in front of you than the river/mountains, as implied by a prior review. So, I liked the trees. All in all, a pretty comfy place to stay.

Yelp
The rooms were a perfect size. I can't complain about how clean it was either. The staff were phenomenal and so helpful. It was great to have a shuttle around also. Don't eat at the restaurant, it was gross!

Yelp
Rooms were very small and the staff, while nice and friendly, didn't really know much about the national park which is the main reason people are there. The restaurant wasn't very good at all and very expensive. The one thing they did do well was provide quick shuttle transportation and luggage handling from the Alaska Railroad.

Yelp
What a rip off! Avoid staying here as much as possible. Considering what they charge I had high expectations, but we were so disappointed. The room amenities are minimal, coffee maker, 24 inch TV, and that's it. There is not even air conditioning in the rooms, just a small fan which is totally inadequate. it gets pretty warm in Alaska in the summer and I had to open the doors to cool down the room, and of course since there are no screens on the door you risk letting mosquitoes in the room. So the choices are suffer with the heat or open the doors and risk letting mosquitoes in. As a convenience to guests that are taking tours they offer a box lunch sandwich for $15. (RIP OFF!). Given that your choices are limited I guess they figure take it or leave it. If I had known in advance what I know now I definitely would not have stayed here. I would NOT recommend it.

Yelp
Upon check in, the staff was friendly and helpful. The layout is fine and the lobby is nice. We had a room on the 1st floor of building 10 and upon arrival, it felt like a sauna. After turning down the thermostat to 45, it was still hot and stuffy. There were no windows in the room, just a sliding glass door so we turned on the A/C which really shouldn't be necessary since the outside temp was 55. For the bargain price of $233/night, we could hear the guy in the next room snoring and a group of people chatting down by the restaurant (even with the sliding glass door closed). We could also hear every toilet flush from the room above and the smell of raw sewage as it wafted into our room. You could also smell it as you walk out to the other buildings. The water pressure from the shower was lousy at best but at least it worked. Maybe the 2nd floor showers were better but i didnt care at this point. I just wanted to shower and sleep. I am not a light sleeper but I could hear every footstep of people walking past the building and their luggage as it rolled by. The next morning, I woke up to find flea bites all over my body (no, we don't have a dog and yes, I shower regularly). We had our $10 oatmeal at the mountaineer restaurant with my mother in law who stayed in building 12. She heard people in the room above taking showers all night and the toilet was clogged in her room. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for another hotel or just sleep in your car. I wish I had.
