Dene Guest House was wonderful. Besides the place being immaculate, Hamish and his amazing Spanish wife were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of the neighborhood. The shared bathroom was never a problem - we almost never had to wait. As budget travelers, we highly appreciated the free cereal, coffee and fridge available to us. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at the Dene Guest House. We took the room on the second floor where we had a nice view and a cooling breeze coming through the room. We stayed for a couple of nights. Hamish, our host, was kind enough to leave a nice selection of breakfast cereals for the days that we had to run out quickly. He also made the check in process painless and convenient given that we arrived at 3 am. As far as the room itself, my fiance' had no trouble sleeping in the queen-sized bed, but the sheets had a slight smell to them. The shower was immaculate. Like a fire hose! We also loved the decor and the surrounding neighborhood. Very cozy.

Our stay with Ilio and Hamish was lovely. They are so nice and have lots of tips for the stay. The room was very nice and clean. There is an amazing mix of style of the old house and modern furniture, equipment and decoration. On the ground floor, there is a nice lounge. Cereals and milk for breakfast as well as a basket with hygiene items is made available. All in all very recommended! Thank you Ilio and Hamish 😊

Thank you Jean-Pierre and to your staff for being so accommodating during my stay. I came very early in the morning after an overnight bus ride from London. When I arrived my room was not ready due to my early arrival however Jean-Pierre had a room arranged for me immediately which I really appreciated. The breakfast was wonderful, they had an array of cold and hot breakfast including cereals, meats, eggs, yogurts, fruits, cheese and bread. The staff even go as far as serving you your tea and coffee as you prepare your breakfast, how kind. You have the option to leave your luggage at the hotel for free after check out if you’re still planning to stay in the city. This guesthouse is incredibly close to the public transit and many of the main tourist attractions (accessible by foot if you’re feeling up to it). The public transit is only 4.50£ for an adult day pass which I would recommend! You must have exact change. The room I stayed in was a double with a shared bathroom. The bathrooms were very clean and the room itself was quite spacious I found, with a private sink as well. Thank you again for the wonderful stay, if I come to Edinburgh again I would definitely stay here :)

We're just home to Ireland from a fantastic family break in Edinburgh. ||The accommodation was immaculately clean, great facilities, room size (family room with 2 teenagers) was excellent with ensuite shower room. Really comfortable beds, shared day room area with everything needed. Very central location.... ||We walked everywhere as it was less than 10 minutes walk to centre. Friendly and helpful owners, we will definitely return.

We were a small group of families meeting together for a few nights. ||||The hosts/owners Hamish and Ilia were incredibly helpful and friendly from the minute I called to discuss booking to they day I arrived home to tell me I'd forgotten my flowers. ||||They provided everything we needed, breakfast was fantastic, rooms spotless and spacious. Gorgeous house over four floors with a homely feel in an amazing location. ||||We will definitely go back as soon as we can. They make you feel nothing is too much trouble and have the knack of treating you like family whilst being fantastic hosts. ||||Thank you. Xxx

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Dene Guest house in the family room. The beds were comfy and we had a lovely view into the garden. It's in a nice area of town and a short walk to all the attractions. Our hosts were lovely and made sure everything was covid secure and socially distanced, they gave us great tips and directions and were super friendly. The breakfast was awesome and very filling too! We couldn't recommend this place more and would love to stay here again :)

Lovely staff, very clean guesthouse, the breakfast was pretty good. Tesco and Lidl in walking distance, the condo is a short walk far from the centre. The shared bathroom worked well always clean and rarely busy. Simone and Jean-Pierre was super-kind and helpful. Good value for money!

Yelp
The owner of the Dene Guest House is incredible--as are her staff. They are attentive, offer all kinds of suggestions and advice to those staying at the guesthouse, and their breakfasts are delightful and delicious. The Dene Guest House is a sweet and old B&B. Rooms are basic--with a sink in the room. I loved the sink, as I could wash garments and even bathe (somewhat) when the shared bathroom was busy. Be prepared to share the bath--unless you get a private bath. The beds were the most comfortable that I have slept on in a while. Finally, the Dene Guest House is an easy walk to the center of town and if you go during events, like the FRINGE, the guest house is a lovely walk from the very busy and exciting experience.
