Deeply Disappointed – Poor Service and Unprofessional Management
The start of our holiday was great, but unfortunately, our experience at this hotel went downhill, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
After recently undergoing surgery, I was still recovering and had just had my tubes removed. On Saturday, I took a shower and went upstairs to the restaurant with my family for a meal. My wife really wanted a special dish from the menu – a simple request – but we were told it wasn’t possible because they were “too busy.” This was especially frustrating because the restaurant wasn’t even busy – there were only about eight other people dining at the time. Even when we explained that we weren’t in a rush and were happy to wait, as I really didn’t want to go out of the hotel in my condition, we were still refused. The way this was said was extremely rude and sarcastic, and we were basically told to leave.
In my condition, I then had to walk half a mile to find somewhere else to eat, which was very difficult. I was shocked by how dismissive they were, so I decided to speak with the owner. Instead of taking my complaint seriously, he said, “Oh yes, we know about the chef, but he’s been here for 20 years – and if we let him go, we won’t have a chef to cook. Don’t get upset with the fly and take it out on us.” I found this comment sarcastic and very unprofessional.
Later, when I was in reception preparing to go to the hospital, the owner approached me again and said, “Have you cursed the chef? He had a heart attack last night.” I was absolutely flabbergasted. I would never wish something like that on anyone – I’ve even lost a close friend to a heart attack.
This kind of attitude and lack of empathy is completely unacceptable. The management here is unprofessional and clearly lacks basic customer service skills.
A very disappointing experience overall. I will not be returning, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
