Jodie was the most fantastic hostess I’ve ever. Her place is immaculate and she pays attention to every single detail. She makes the most delicious breakfast and dines you on the patio. She also provides appetizers and beverages in the early evening. Their are cushy robes in the rooms, lots of chocolates, coffee machines, blow dryers, everything you could want. The beds were so comfortable too. We are staying for my sister’s birthday and Jodie made it very special. She homemade a cheesecake just for the birthday and served it with champagne. Walking distance to the beach and some amazing restaurants. Golf cart available for use to tour the island. Jodie truly made it an unforgettable and magical birthday weekend. 10/10 would recommend to stay here for anyone wanting a magical beach getaway in Colonial Beach!

This is hands down the best place to stay in Colonial Beach. The property is beautiful, comfortable and super clean. The host/owners Jodie and John were very personable, extremely accommodating and attentive. All the food and drinks were delicious. We had fun using the golf cart and bikes to explore the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. We plan to go back soon.

Our history with B&B's at the beach is mixed, but Jodie really made a difference in this stay. The facility was really updated well and the Suite was well equiped and comfortable. Considering the age of the house and the high temperatures for the days we stayed, the rooms were really well controlled and comfortable. The investment in the mattress was worth it as well as we could not feel eich other's tossing and turning and the comfort level was excellent. The Breakfasts and snacks were excellent and we had a great time visiting with our host. Given that they were just coming off a surge caised by hosting at the Triathlon completing the day we arrived, the room was readied in plenty of time for our stay. I especially enjoyed our tour of the town by golf cart as a bonus to our stay. the only micro issue was the lack of a plug-in for the hair drier in the bath. Altogether one of our best stays and at what I consider a reasonable price for the service.

Jodie is honestly the best host and treated us like Queens. It was my mother’s birthday and Jodie made cupcakes and gave my mothers a beautiful birthday gift. Her bed and breakfast is stunning and our beds were so comfy and peaceful. We will be back, we loved our stay! So Amazing!!!! We hit the jackpot with this place!!

An absolute must-stay bed and breakfast in Colonial Beach. Perfect for a couples get away. We were able to escape from our kids and reconnect as a married couple. The house is amazing, the bedrooms are classy, but most of all; the hosts (Jodie and John) make the experience wonderful. The hardest part was picking which breakfast meal to eat. You can't go wrong with anything. A close walk to the beach, bike ride (which they provide) to everything, and a short drive to Westmoreland State Park to go for a great nature hike and hunt for sharks' teeth. We will definitely be going back!

Dennison Street Inn is the best Bed and Breakfast I've ever stayed. Jodie and John make you feel welcome and comfortable. They are very accommodating and attentive to whatever you may need or want. The location is great, just a few steps from the water or any place you'd want to walk to. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing. The house is comfortable and well decorated. Jodie prepares the breakfast and it is delicious. It's a wonderful house, wonderful hosts and a wonderful place to stay. If your looking for an excellent place to stay look no further than Dennison Street Inn. It will satisfy your needs.

This hotel is second to none and the service given by Jodie the owner is outstanding. The accommodation is immaculate, the bedding and other furnishings so clean and fresh with no detail left out and the location is perfect being just yards from the Potomac river. Jodie goes out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect and the breakfast was superb. We were the 1st English guests and would not hesitate to return if we were down that way again. You will make an excellent choice if you book this hotel. Tracey & John, England

Where do I begin? The inn is pristine, the rooms are extremely comfortable, the food is delicious, and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. If you want to feel like you are visiting a friend (who happens to have a great house and cooks you breakfast) then this is the experience for you. Jodie is available, without being intrusive, and that is a tough balance to achieve at a B&B. I was visiting the area to look at real estate and I had such a good time I almost decided to give up my house search and book weekend retreats at the inn instead. Unfortunately (but understandably) they are booked out. Don't pass up the chance to stay here if you can. You won't regret it.

Yelp
What a glorious stay I had recently at Dennison Street Inn, located in one of my favorite small towns, Colonial Beach, Virginia. Innkeepers Jodie and John have left nothing to chance and in her own words, Jodie says that she learns something new with each new visitor, striving to accommodate every want and need. For example, when a guest complained of not having a specific blend of tea, Jodie made sure from that point on to have a wider selection. This attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the doors of the stately Victorian, originally built for the first mayor of Colonial Beach. The owners wanted furnishings to match the time period of the majestic home, but didn't want an overly feminine look as is common with Victorian decor. They found a perfect balance. Plush furniture in the living room (it's like sitting on a throne!) in muted colors with antiques and historic paintings on the walls. I imagine the owners going through each room, as if they were guests themselves, anticipating every possible need a visitor might want. There is a shoe rack at the door, earplugs next to your bed, and every type of sweetener (sugar, raw sugar, sugar substitute), coffee and tea you could desire. There was even a special dark colored, plush towel for removing makeup so I wouldn't feel bad mucking up the white ones. Speaking of towels...they are just one more attention to luxury detail. Super fluffy and absorbent. Bathroom rugs are like walking on a cloud. My room even had a whirlpool tub! The bed is so soft and has so many pillows, you could spend your whole weekend right there. Freshly baked homemade cookies greet you upon arrival. Breakfast (prepared to your liking) is served in your room. (My room had two separate seating areas, in addition to the bedroom. Queen for a day!) Jodie and John were so kind, warm, accommodating and helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I travel extensively for work and was lucky enough to come across the Dennison Street Inn in a recent search of where to stay in Colonial Beach, VA. This was hands down the right choice. Not only was the interior of the Inn impeccable, from its cleanliness to it's time set furniture and ambience but also, my room, the King Charles Suite, was huge and provided every comfort of home. In addition to every necessary amenity, I was also able to be super efficient at work as the internet was very fast and reliable. Jody was the absolute best host anyone could ask for. She was friendly and knew what I needed before I even asked for it. She was an amazing cook also, preparing the best cedar plank salmon I have ever had! All her meals were freshly made and delicious, accompanied by fresh herbs and veggies from her garden. I have definitely found my go-to place to stay when traveling to Colonial Beach!

Yelp
There is unfortunate fact that we cannot give more then 5 stars for somebody who provides exemplary service. Dennison Street Inn is run by the retired military officers who "get it done" every single time. They aim for the perfection and you benefit from it. The inn is at great location, beautifully restored, and furnished, and has state of the art A/C. Their mattresses are so good that you may feel bad going back home, as if you went from riding a horse o riding a mule. That was a risk I was willing to take. After kayaking 24 miles on the Potomac river, the owner drove the group back 15 miles to Colonial Beach (from Caledon State Park). By the time we all took showers and changed, his spouse has served oversized and delicious home made hors d'oeuvres at 9:30PM!!! She offered and took care of all the dirty clothes and did the wash so we can have fresh clothes for the next leg. In the morning she served us great breakfast and sent us out with the sandwiches, waters, fruits for the next leg of kayaking. There were so many wonderful gestures, favors, (more delicious food next day) and we even saw them taking breakfast (with mimosas) to a room to some love birds. The owners will do anything to make sure that you have restful and pleasant time and they succeeded with our group. This inn is a great base if somebody from DMV region wants to spend a weekend away and visit a local winery (Ingleside for example), farm (Westmorland Berry Farm for example) or museum (Stratford Hall for example). No hotel could provide such a personal attention even if a butler is hired. Dennison Street Inn is a perfection.

Yelp
I don't think I could ever say enough about how wonderful our stay was here! The home is beautiful... immaculately clean and thoughtfully decorated. You truly feel surrounded by luxury. The breakfast and snacks were delicious! Very high quality food. It is evident that the owners truly care about this property and ensuring that your stay is perfect. No detail is overlooked! I definitely recommend staying here! Be warned, once you do, you'll never want to stay anywhere else! :)

Yelp
My husband I returned a year later and found Jody and her husband John continuing to provide incredibly, personable service without being stuffy. Peaceful and quiet visit with an awesome homemade breakfast and treats. I highly recommend for a quick weekend "beach" getaway without the crowded beach scene and traffic. Perfect for boaters, like us, who were just passing by. Jody picked us up at our boat and dropped us off again in the morning.

Yelp
The old saying goes, "It's not bragging if it's true," completely applies to the Dennison Street Inn. Every luxurious detail is prepared and maintained to perfection! The Inn is beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The beds and linens are fabulously comfortable. The wonderfully tasty breakfasts are well thought out and made with great care to meet specific dietary needs/preferences. Happy hour appetizers are superb and professionally presented. The personal touches provided by the innkeeper are everywhere! There were cookies in my room upon my arrival. I was presented with flowers, a balloon, and gift for my birthday. The innkeeper went so far as to save my parking space for me when I ran a quick errand with my car! The location is within walking distance of the local beach/boardwalk and several restaurants for evening dining. My stay was very enjoyable and relaxing! My every need was attentively met. I highly recommend the Dennison Street Inn!
