Denny's Restaurant

Decided to try the senior's menu at Denny's on the Thursday night discount special. We went to the Davie Street location. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the service excellent. The portions of the meal were generous and delicious. Our server DeVanshi was delightful and efficient. We were happy with the overall experience of having a good meal at a reasonable price in a clean and friendly environment. The turkey is shown in the photos.

We went to Denny’s and honestly, the experience was very average. The burger was very normal, nothing special or memorable. It was also super fatty, which made it feel a bit heavy rather than enjoyable. Overall, everything was just okay — nothing bad, but definitely nothing that made us say “wow.” A very basic, standard meal with no standout points.

Riddhi is super sweet and kind. She was exceptional at her job. Shalia was good. Nischal never let my coffee cup empty and served me well. The cleanliness at the restaurant made me seated longer than usual. I only come to dennys because of these staff people working here. The staff working at dennys are so happy and cheerful.❤️

I was served by assistant named Prakriti D, all I can say that this was truly great. The assistant is very polite and friendly, I really enjoyed the stay and that I was served by this lovely assistant. The overall atmosphere is cozy and classy, with American - Canadian comforting vibe. The food is outstanding, I ordered a full breakfast plate with pancakes on the side with a refillable coffee, all that only for 22 Canadian dollars, really wonderful. As a person not from here, I was searching for a place where I could eat legendary Canadian pancakes with maple syrup and experience the atmosphere of classic Canadian diner. This place was exactly what I was looking for, perfect! All the best from United Kingdom, cheers!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. On top of that, the service was outstanding — our server Cara was friendly, attentive, and professional, making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. This is definitely a place we would come back to and highly recommend.

Excellent spot for breakfast. The service is always great and fast. Not overpriced: whole grand slam breakfast with 4 eggs and 2 additional sides for only $14.99. Plus free on your birthday!

Maple syrup tasted weird on the pancakes. Everything was mediocre including hash-browns and eggs. Servers don’t care so the service was slow. Unclean utensils, coffee had someone’s lip stick on it. Expensive for what it is too. It’s bad when you feel iHop was better experience.

I didn't even have time to take a photo of the food because everything was so delicious that I ate it right away. It was my birthday, so it was a great start to the day in a cozy place. Thank you, Arshdeep for your kind service! I wish you more satisfied customers.

Earlier this year, I went to Wendy's for dinner on my birthday. Denny's has a great birthday deal where you can get a free grand slam breakfast on your actual birthday. All you need to do is to show your ID to the staff. You can substitute the grand slam and get another item and just pay the difference. I got the bourbon chicken sizzling skillet. It comes with chicken breast, potatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It's covered in a bourbon glaze. It comes served in an actual skillet. I thought the dish i ordered was delicious. The chicken and the veggies were perfectly cooked. The bourbon glaze was a nice, tasty sauce for the grilled food. I highly recommend it. I just have to point out that if you're a very big eater, you may want to order something else on the side. For most people, i think it's a decent sized portion. The place was only about half full so i was able to get a table right away. The wait time for my food was about 8-10 minutes. Staff was nice and i felt taken care of because they checked if i needed anything else. Some other restaurants are hard to get the staff's attention to simply ask for the bill. I like than in this case, I didn't have to wave the staff for the bill because they came to grab my empty plate soon after i was done. I don't have anything negative to say based on this visit, so I give Denny's on Davie St. 5 out of 5 stars.

It was my bday so I came in to get a breakfast just for being born! =) Not much to say about this. The food wasn't stellar but it was free, so...I was happy! I don't eat meat so in order to go Vegetarian, I ended up with a lot of carbs for my breakfast. Pancakes, toast, hashbrowns and eggs. Also, my daughter and I had started to go to Denny's in North Vancouver with my mom sometime last year and were quite heartbroken when that location closed down. So, we were happy to be able to come to this one with my mom. Kind of a sentimental thing.

The food and service were amazing. We had two skillets, and a lasagna which were all delicious. The staff was nice and attentive. They sat us next to a window by the bus stop which made for pleasant people watching.

Other seats were available but she decided to seat us on the only busted ass seat I felt insulted and degraded

The ordering experience was frustrating, with the waitress pointing several times to the piggly wiggly options after repeating that I don't eat meat. So I ended up ordering the vegetarian grand slam with fruit; not surprisingly, she gave me the wrong order. Food is meh, though their multi grain pancakes are decent. However, not in a rush to return.

What often especially compels us to return to a local eatery is the staff's demeanour. The Davie Street location in this West End can proudly boast a staff of individuals who understand the importance of a sincere greeting followed by attentive service. The same is true of the kitchen of course. My last visit was years ago and this had not been my recollection. However, very recently I was 'coaxed' into benefiting from a free breakfast on my B-day. The Santa Fe 'Sizzling Skillet' with chorizo was delightful, I would dare say it rivalled neighbouring 'posh' establishments frequented by 'suits' 'n such. As a result, I already plan to return soon for a taste of other enticing and reasonably priced items on their updated menu. Also noteworthy IMHO, is their laudable recognition of seniors' patronage in the community. Well-done!

Extremely horrible service We went here January 2 2024 at 10:00 we were promptly seated. However we sat for 30 minutes and had not been served, no coffee no water, no server nobody It would somewhat acceptable if the place was busy But it wasn't there were many free empty tables Just extremely poor service We left went across the street to another restaurant and were seated waited in served and eat in the 45 minutes in and out If you have an entire day you eat a meal then Denny's is your best bet Otherwise there are many other choices that are much better

Last week, my dad came from the hospital, so we (myself, my mom & my friend.. along with my dad) walked over here to grab a bite. There was only 1 server, she was busy with other tables before she could take our order. She first asked for our drink order, then went to attend other tables. I ordered the Oreo milkshake & my friend ordered the chocolate milkshake. After a while, she came back with our drink orders; the milkshakes were delicious! It comes in a tall glass & the extra is in a stainless steel cup. But yes, once she delivered our drinks, she took off to attend to other tables who wanted to bill out off before we could let her know we were ready to order our food. After about 15 mins or so, she came back to take our order. Then the waiting game began! When it finally arrived we were starving so we just focused on chowing down our food..which by the way was delicious! But...while waiting for our food, my family & I were disturbed by, what we think was the manager, yelling at someone in the open kitchen. I'm not sure if the one being yelled at in the kitchen was a trainee, but she was yelling & embarassing the person for not doing something correctly. In our opinion, it was truly unprofessional. What she could have done was have someone take over quickly, and then pull the "trainee" aside & have a proper talk, instead of letting the whole dining area hear all that fuss. Aside from all that, it was a deliciously pleasant experience... especially for my friend, since it was her first time to go to Denny's. Also if you will take out, you might want to bring a bag, if you don't want to pay for one.

20% off take-out or delivery during this pandemic! ALSO, free blueberry pancake puppies free for all medical personnel with purchase! What are pancake puppies? OMG where have they been all my life?! They are these delicious, easy and convenient to eat, fried balls of pancakes. Remember, dining area is not opened and these are best eaten fresh, so I recommend eating them on the go! I got my favourite Denny's burger: honey buttermilk chicken tender sandwich. Hmmm the honey, the buttery crispy fried skin, the tender meat along on a fresh bun with pickles... if that didn't make you salivate, I'm not sure what will! Sure, pancakes and eggs are fairly easy to make at home, but go support your local Denny's and take advantage of 20% off during this time! Manager at this location was super friendly too. Can't wait to dine in and eat have some epic pancakes with maple syrup again soon.

Very busy so had to wait in line for awhile. Friendly staff but slow and portion seems a bit smaller. Tastes fine and satisfy tour craving but nothing special. The crowd isn't very lively at this location though

I am very disappointed with food this time. Lasagna came frozen in the middle, and tasted old. Bread was old and no taste. Bacon tots was a nightmare. I dine there for over 20 years, after today's experience I am not coming back anymore. I spent 60 dollars for old and tasteless food.

Food was tasty, but remember THIS IS A DENNYS. The nostalgia is the main reason we ate here, as an American I wanted a reminder of my roots. We spent about $40 for coffee and 2 meals( eggs benny was BOGO) Eat here if you want to taste classic American dining. Coffee was good and had free refills.

You need to have proof of vaccination and an id to enter the restaurant and I like that. If you have been to the Denny's in the US, it will take you right back. Like any great diner, the coffee is amazing as is the milkshake. We absolutely loved the eggs. The hash browns were super crispy and the onion rings were the best I have ever had. The pancake balls were really good but they were dry unless they were dipped in icing. The service was a lot slow and we had to wait 10 minutes to pay for the food. I would say go there if you like diner food but only if you have some time on your hands!

George was brilliant and a creative problem solver. When I told him that last I took home my sampler, that the lid to the queso had fallen off and that the queso had spilled in the bag, he came up with a easy fix. Happy to say, I very much enjoyed all of my queso! Thank you, George!

Thetford wasn't bad. But I got grossed out when I saw a rat under the table next to me. When I told the waitress about the rat. She said they knew about it and that they were trying to deal with it. She took $1.75 off my bill. I feel like they could've done more I am going to voice this to the health department

Had breakfast at this place and my experienced was good. The place is a bit busy for weekend breakfast. The place looks like it was renovated and updated. Staff are wearing face coverings but not attentive with your needs. You have to asked everything you need. The food was not that good as my hashbrowns and bacon are half-cooked. Was not happy with my visit and didn't finished my food.

We ordered from this location through Uber eats and we're so excited for breakfast as it was our greasy spoon treat. We ordered the Santa fe skillet and the vegetarian version of the grand slam. The grand slam was okay it was a lot of carbs, pancakes, hash browns, toast and eggs. It was nothing fancy but it was a large portion of food that had unique packaging so that everything fit well. It was inexpensive as well. While in comparison the Santa fe skillet was so small in size, and almost double the price. We were shocked at the portion size. It looked comparable to that of a child's. So sadly for this purpose we have to reduce our score. I recommend the grand slam but only that.

Very much a hit or miss so you can either leave satisfied or disappointed depending on what you get. I decided to try their French Toast Slam since I was craving french toast. Bad idea. The french toast was dry. Like desert dry. It was more akin to eating toast that had been given a very small amount of butter before being popped in a toaster. I lathered a piece with butter, jam, and eventually syrup but it was still dry and not worth finishing so only ate two out of the four pieces. The sausage and bacon was pretty mediocre - tastes like something you'd get from the frozen section. My eggs were cooked just right and tasted great though so at least I had that! My friend got the Dulce de Leche Crunch Dessert Pancakes. I tried a handful of bites and was immediately jealous because it tasted so freaking good. The cinnamon crumble on top with the caramel was just insane. THAT is 100% worth getting. I doubt I'll be back to this location but if I do, I'd steer clear of the french toast and probably just get a plate of pancakes which would no doubt bring my rating to a 3 or 4 but based on my meal, I can't justify more than 2 stars here.

The only positive thing about my experience at this Denny's was the service. I have no complains about that. The restaurant was filthy. Our table and the wall attached to it was marked with snotty yand prints and the womens bathroom was nightmare fuel. This was on a Monday afternoon so Idk why it looked like Saturday morning in there. The food was fine but when youre paying $70 for two just ok on a good day burgers and an appy this experience left much to be desired.

Denny's is Denny's. Curb your expectations and you'll (almost!) never be disappointed. The absolute best way to enjoy food at this restaurant is on your birthday, where you get a free 'Build You Own' Grand Slam. Make sure you bring your picture ID, they will definitely not just take your word, regardless of how many party hats you have on. Also, Denny's serves dinner food...like when TF did that start? Seriously, you can get Butter Chicken or a T-Bone Steak. I would personally never go that type of route, but good on you if you tempt the entrée waters. Staff seemed relatively pleasant; décor is mid-80s depressing diner with an awful lot of brown and tan tones. I also think it's about time we identify and understand that you don't need carpeting in a restaurant.

If you are looking for a delicious, tasty breakfast then don't eat here. Slow service, food does not look appetizing, and certainly not worth the $15.00 for two pancakes, which were not very "fluffy" two strips of bacon and two sausages. Pretty disgusting food. Go elsewhere.

The veggie omelet was okay, but I received incredible server from my waitress. I asked for my toast to be substituted for the cinnamon roll pancakes and was willing to pay extra, but she offered to give me just one for no charge. Thank you!

I love dennys. I love somewhere I can take my kid. And I always go with the intention to fill my belly but I always order the same thing. Classic Benny and the kiddo gets the pancakes. I don't know why but this location has the best hollandaise of any dennys, but more than that. Also the servers are top notch. I love this dennys and even though I live no where near here, I will go out if my way to come here when I get the craving. 10/0

It's Denny's, I know what to expect. But usually the food is consistent. I ordered via Uber Eats at noon on a Sunday -- I've been sick for a few days and was craving shredded hash browns, weirdly... and Denny's is the only place I could think of that has them. They came with a note saying they were out of them and sent with red potatoes instead, which I threw out (cold, disgusting and NOT what I ordered). The app lets them turn items off that aren't available. Or, could nobody have contacted me or the Uber Eats walker (who I'm not thrilled with either)? It came to $24 (with a tip I'd made before I opened it) for cold, inedible Moons Over My Hammy and no hashbrowns. I know this sounds entitled and petty, but if an item isn't available, let me know.

Came in for my late night craving of mozzarella sticks, they were not as cheesy/stretchy as desired but it was still a good fix. The service was great but our server seemed quite anxious. Regardless, it was still a great experience. Thanks, Dennys!

They stopped doing a waiting list so how do they know who was in first. If you don't treat your clients right when they first walk in it usually doesn't get better once you sit down

If I could give this place less than a star, I would. My service was horrendous. It's like the girl had never served a table before in her life. I had to explain to her we needed water. Also we needed side plates and napkins for wings. She brought the wrong dipping sauce out, even though I watched her write it down. At this point I was so salty, unlike my extremely bland food- which you guessed it... she messed that up too. I repeated myself three times, and even pointed. I watched her write it down and still she got my order wrong. Now it's time to pay, we had a gift card. Why else would I be eating at this garbage hole? SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME THAT SHE CANT FIGURE IT OUT. How's about you go get a manager and figure it the fuck out. So after another half hour of waiting on the manager... he says you can either pay the remaining or not pay the remaining because he made a mistake. LIKE NO I DONT WANT TO PAY AND ID LIKE A REFUND OF MY TIME. close Denny's and put in another bar. Waste of space. If Gurwinder ever serves you, try to triple check she understood your order. And I wish you luck.

Yay!! I just had breakfast for dinner! I got the GRAND SLAM for 11.49$+tax. Plus only 2.99$+tax for 3 refils of coffee...!! AWESOME!! Choose 4 items and built your GRAND SLAM!! Whammy!! I always pick turken, potatoes, toast and PANCAKES!! TWO huge warm and comes with butter PANCAKES!! FLAWLESS customers service. Very polite and friendly. They did reno and the place is looking great!! I will come back more often because that now. And FREE GRAND SLAM on ur birthday!! Simply bring your ID is that simple!!

Service here was pretty slow. The waiters/waitresses seemed scatter brained (it wasn't busy, maybe 12 tables to 4 servers). Managers constantly walked to the front counter to just stand there and not really assist with anything. I asked for napkins one of the managers looked at the waiter to get some for me. Gave two stars because the food came out quickly and tasted good.

The food and the size of the portions were as usual we know from the U.S. I don't recommend the salmon plate, since the salmon itself is very dry and the potato vegetable ratio wasn't comprehensive. I was server was really slow we had to wait for 30 minutes to get our food.. All in all it was a classic Danny's experience except the service.

I ordered from here and SPECIFICALLY and POLITELY put a notation on my order asking for steak sauce for my t-bone and jelly for my toast...even though I originally assumed oh, they'll definitely include condiments and utensils because DUH...but i wrote it anyway "PLEASE include steak sauce and jelly on the side" and they STILL sent me a damn steak with no steak sauce and toast with no jelly! I am PISSED, because now I gotta eat this dry ass steak and this dry ass toast. I swear the nicer you make the note the more prone they are to messing it up. And they didnt give me utensils even if though I clicked the box for that as well...how am I suppose to eat my food

Mediocre, at best. Came here to take advantage of the free birthday Grand Slam deal. Our server was extremely off-putting when we told him that we wanted the birthday Grand Slam. He quickly said okay and walked away. When we dined here last year for my birthday, our server let me choose which sides I wanted. Since my fiancé and I don't eat pork, I appreciated being able to choose something other than pork bacon and sausage. So, when our server came back, my fiancé mentioned he doesn't eat pork and asked if he could substitute. Annoyed, our server reluctantly agreed and left. Our server then came back and asked for ID to prove that it was actually my fiancés birthday and took a photocopy of it. I don't know what happened at this point, but our servers attitude took a complete 180 and he became pleasant and very accommodating. He checked on us regularly, being extremely nice each time. When we were done our meal, he wished my fiancé a happy birthday, with a smile. Not sure why he wasn't that nice from the start! As for the food: meh. I had pancakes, eggs, toast, and turkey bacon. My turkey bacon was cold. The rest, you can't really screw up. It did the trick of filling our stomachs but definitely didn't leave us wanting more.

The male employee today August 11th 4:30pm was very rude and aggressive over the phone, telling me he's not going to help me order stating "it's to much work I don't want to" after I told him the online ordering is broken. Also he failed at letting me talk to a manager or supervisor, surprise surprise. This is the 2nd time I've had bad experiences with this location. Never again, also telling everyone I know how you guys treat paying customers. Figure it out.

Worst Denny's I have been to so far. The food is mediocre and not cooked very well. After having eaten here I few times, I'd say that the cooking oil tastes off and generally the food isn't very fresh. Other locations I have been to are definitely better quality. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING which probably means the kitchen is pretty gross too. I'll still hang out here late at night for coffee because it's one of the few 24hr spots nearby and the servers are friendly, but otherwise I wouldn't really recommend the place if you have other options.

If you haven't been to Denny's, you're not missing much. Before I go on to how good or not so good the food is, there is one thing I must say. Thanks Denny's around the world for serving us and feeding us your grub. Last minute breakfast meetings, late night snacks, College pals gatherings after a test. Dennys serves a purpose for meeting spots. The Amway introduction meeting. The small business coffee gathering. That's what makes these places so great. Meetings and coffee and if you happen to eat the food that's a bonus. On this last adventure, we were all hungry for some grub after a night of clubbing. Denny's was here, we didn't want Pizza or Shawarma's. We needed a place to hang out, order some food and just chill. It's never boring at Denny's too! There's always something going on at this location. Best thing is that you can still get breakfast at 3am in the morning. And the coffee is a godsend.

We went to Dennys last night because my friend's friend gets a free Grand Slam for his birthday! We were a group of 7, and they gave us a bill with mandatory tipping of over 15%. I thought that was a bit weird, I mean, this is Dennys. And don't mandatory 15 - 18% tips come into play when you are in a group of 8 or more? I can't remember the exact name of my food, but it was something like Stay Fit Wraps. I liked my order, it was a soft wrap with cheese, spinach and turkey bacon. One of my friends ordered the chicken skillet, it looked pretty cool in a hot iron plate, and the chicken had a sweet sauce on it. Two others orderes the Eggs Benny, which was all right to me (yes, I taste tested several plates). The strawberry lemonade was very strong in flavour, maybe a little overpowering, but I prefer my flavours stronger than being bland. The nice touch to the evening was that the waitress added a candle to the birthday's boy dessert. :) Dennys is a great place for a last minute hangout, late night gathering, or a place to grab greasy fare after the nightclub. It's a very casual place, so don't expect too much about the food or service, and you'll be fine.

Worst service ! Customer service was poor . No one came to ask for order for so long I ordered vegi burger with wheat bun and it took so long to come moreover when came with wrong bread then again went and it took them more than 30 minutes to get right one I ordered second Mac and cheese and they didn't have it It was worse experience ! Customer service was so poor . A man serving food does not respect or care for customers

Yay! Denny's is one of the few places that still offer a free meal for your birthday. Plus this location is 24 hours! Sure the food may not be the best, but the staff work hard and even if you come by yourself to claim your free birthday meal, they still serve you with a smile. At after a night clubbing at 2 or 3 or even 4 am this location is still open to serve you and your friends. So this 3 stars is for the service and convenience. And for being one of the last few places that offered a free meal on your bday.

Ever have a craving to have breakfast for dinner? I can tell you I do...quite often. So, where can you go, when you are in downtown Vancouver? Other than your fast food eateries, you're pretty safe in going to Denny's. I have been to this Denny's many times over the years, whether it be after a late night clubbing back in the day or going for breakfast on a Sunday morning with friends. I must say I like the interior renovations since I last been. The booths and retro tables and chairs are a nice touch. Along with new laminate flooring. I think the lighting is better as well as it seems brighter. Well, how can you go wrong with a Lumberjack Slam. You get the full meal deal. I had bacon, sausages butterfly, eggs over easy, sourdough toast dry, hash browns (requested extra crispy) and pancakes. Service was great, and the only blemish was the hash brown came out as they normally would (not crispy). Well, serves me right as shredded hash browns are my least favourite. And, I chose a restaurant that serves shredded hash browns. My experience: Service: 9 Food: 9 Restaurant Cleanliness: 10 9 rating due to the hash browns not being extra crispy and the waiter for not ensuring the order was accurate. Always areas for improvement regardless of establishment. Bottom line, a nice clean restaurant that serves breakfast 24/7, great value and good service

The food was the low quality you should expect. The server, Lily, was excellent. 100% on her game. Merry Christmas!

You will never hear the server ask "how was your meal". They already know the answer- absolutely terrible. Needs better management.

I still can't believe what happened to my sandwich.. I found a screw in my sandwich!!! Wtf !! I called and they asked what time i was there, what i ordered, how much was the sandwich and do i still have a recipe... and sorry that happened... it doesn't matter all these informations!! Its a fucking screw!!! I had a really bad stomachache all day! Im going to sue them!!!

Ordered the blueberry pancakes (around $8.50) and the hot fudge brownie a la mode (around $5.50). The blueberry pancakes are 2 stack and includes your choice of 2 pieces of bacon or 2 link sausage, 2 eggs, hash browns and syrup. Service is decent and quick. The server comes around occasionally to check up on you but water service is sort of slacking. Food comes out quite fast. Blueberry pancakes tasted like Aunt Jenima mix, maybe worse as it left a strange rotten sort of after taste. I didn't finish them and that's saying something since i'm not much of a food waster. Eggs were good. Hash browns were OK, kind of wanted them slightly cooked longer as it was a little too soft still for my liking. Sausages were probably the smallest i've ever seen and the taste of it did not make up for it at all. Hot fudge brownie a la mode was quite good. Open 24 hours.

Actually give them 0 stars , I waited for my delivery for over an hour, at the estimated arrival time I received a text saying my order has been canceled due to not receiving a payment when I got a text and email of paid approval.. now to follow up with my order they can't even pick up their phone. I have never received as terrible service as I have today.
