Deosai National Park is a breathtaking plateau located between Skardu, Astore, and Kharmang districts in Gilgit-Baltistan. Known as the "Land of Giants," it features wide open grasslands, colorful wildflowers, and rare wildlife like the Himalayan brown bear. The park’s beauty is at its peak during summer when it turns into a lush green wonderland. Deosai is a perfect spot for camping, photography, and experiencing nature in its purest form.

A Breathtaking Journey to Deosai National Park – Land of Flowers and Wild Wonders Visiting Deosai National Park was nothing short of magical. Known as the "Land of Giants," this high-altitude plateau felt like stepping into an untouched, otherworldly paradise. Stretching across vast meadows painted with a vibrant carpet of wildflowers, Deosai is one of the most surreal landscapes I've ever experienced. The air is crisp, the silence serene, and the views—absolutely endless. One of the most thrilling aspects of Deosai is its rich wildlife. It's famously home to the majestic Himalayan brown bear, and with some luck and patience, you might just catch a glimpse of one roaming freely in its natural habitat. Their presence adds a powerful sense of respect and awe to the environment. Adding a unique and surprising charm to our visit was the sight of golden marmota rare encounter in these parts! These gentle, social animals added a touch of curiosity to our adventure. Whether sunbathing near Sheosar Lake or wandering near the streams, they seemed perfectly at peace, adding to Deosai’s reputation as a haven for wildlife. Deosai is not just a destination—it's an experience that reconnects you with nature in its purest form. From stunning alpine lakes to wildflower-filled valleys and the incredible animals that call it home, every moment here feels sacred. For nature lovers, adventure seekers, or anyone looking to escape into raw beauty, Deosai is an absolute must-visit.

It was an amazing trip to Deosai National Park. We climbed to the top of the mountains, where it was very cold even in mid-May. We had a great time, enjoying fries and pakoras in the freezing cold environment. The routes were scary but enjoyable at the same time. Having a 4x4 jeep is essential for getting there.

If you’re seeking untouched natural beauty, soul-soothing silence, and a view that makes you forget the world – Deosai National Park is where you need to be. Located on the world’s second-highest plateau, Deosai is nothing short of breathtaking. At over 13,000 feet above sea level, the air is pure, the skies are vast, and the landscape is surreal. The grasslands stretch endlessly, dotted with wildflowers and home to rare species like the Himalayan brown bear and golden marmots. But the crown jewel? Sheosar Lake – a stunning, deep blue lake nestled peacefully in the middle of the plains. It mirrors the sky like a dream and feels like a hidden gem among the rolling green meadows. The serenity around the lake is indescribable; just sitting beside it feels like therapy. There are no tall trees, no buildings, no artificial noise – just grassland, flowers, wind, and wide-open skies. It’s raw, real, and humbling. Best Time to Visit: July to early September, when the plains are fully accessible and blooming. Tip: Bring warm clothing, even in summer. And please – leave no trace behind. This place deserves to stay as pure as it is.

I traveled on June 18, 2025, and I embarked on a journey to Deosai National Park, and it was nothing short of magical. The beauty of this place is truly breathtaking. I had an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression. The road condition is not good

Deosai is the second-largest plateau in the world, about 3–4 hours from Skardu. The views are absolutely mesmerising endless green plains, wildflowers, and even distant snow-covered glaciers. It honestly feels unreal. The road is smooth at first, but bumpy for the last 1.5 hours. The roads is not very scary as people say. Carry water, snacks, tissues, sunscreen, and sunglasses — the sun hits hard in June/July, and it’s not cold. Due to the high altitude, oxygen levels drop so avoid traveling with heart patients or anyone with serious conditions. Start your trip around 7–8 AM — the road back gets pitch black. If you want to explore more spots like Sheosar Lake (2–3 hours further), go early or stay a night in the glamps. You can’t do it all in one day!
