Love! Love! Der Fischladen. Have been here quite a few times already and every time was super. Came for an early lunch with my dog on a Sunday and ordered a small portion of Fish n Chips. Im English and yes the nostaglia of Fish n Chips gets the better of me sometimes and thankfully this place does not disappoint! Best! Fish n Chips around! Trust me on this ;) The Staff have always been friendly, and Roberto, the waiter that day ( hope! i remembered his name correctly) was perfectly professional and made me feel very very welcome. They have a wonderful selection of Fresh Fish and Seafood in Berlin, need more time to try it all!.......can only highly recommend! Der FIschladen!.. Hope to make it back again soon :)

I've walked by this restaurante so many times that when I craved fish&chips I knew where to go. The food is very good and fresh, the service is also amazing, the waiter was so so friendly! I went with our dog and could sit inside and they also brought water to my dog - not a must in my opinion, but nice nonetheless! I'll be back very soon.

So far this is my favourite seafood restaurant in Berlin. It’s also a fish shop so you can really see what you’re eating. The prices are quite high but the portions are huge and the ingredients are high quality. Very good for a date or just casual fish and chips.

The best restaurant for grilled salmon. Excellent service. The waiters are super friendly and understand exactly what the customer is asking for.

Need to satisfy my "Fish n'chips" craving. It worked here. I cannot remember enjoying better batter in the UK. The oysters and Jacob muscles were also excellent. Service friendly and open with suggestions too. Full recommendation

We had some trouble to get in, as the place was open from 10:00, but the in room lunche time is from 12:00 only, so we had an aperitif elsewhere. Very fresh oysters and scallops and a great variety of fish&chips, but all from the vibrant, tasty and very flaky side. The batter could have been slightly crispier, that was the only remark to make.

Our group of 6 (ages 9-70) found this restaurant by chance and had a great meal and evening. The house wine was great, the seafood was fantastic, and the service was very friendly. If we lived in Berlin we would be regulars here for sure. Highly recommended.

As my late-night döner habits can attest to, I wouldn't necessarily call myself a health nut when it comes to satisfying particular food cravings. (Carbs, carbs, meat, with a side of vegetables? Count me in--as long as you hold the tomatoes and throw in some extra grease for good measure.) So when it comes to fish and chips, I expect something equally as unhealthy and delicious. Dare I say even more unhealthy and delicious, as everything in this quintessentially British meal is meant to be fried. So maybe I was just barking up the wrong tree because I should've just hopped on a cheap Easyjet from Schönefeld instead of ordering a chippy in this corner of Prenzlauer Berg. After reading the other Yelp reviews, I realize that the most confusing thing about Der Fischladen for a first-time diner is that the side shop with the fish counter--the most intuitive place to enter--is devoid of atmosphere. And the other confusing thing? The meal itself. The fish in question was devoid of flavor because I couldn't taste the batter, though it was certainly tender. (A tad too tender, if you ask me though, as I questioned whether it was a little undercooked.) The chips seemed like frozen fries from a local supermarket and the ketchup tasted too much like curry ketchup for my liking, though I saw a later diner request what must've been normal ketchup from the server. Maybe we should just let British pubs do what they do best instead. And to be fair, it seems like Der Fischladen's specialities are actually the fish market on the side and all of the other fish dishes so the verdict is still out when it comes to the healthier seafood options.

Tried their fish and chips. They are more expensive than their partner restaurant "fischfabrik". 3 small pieces for 10€ compared to 5.90€ at fischfabrik. The batter is definitely better at fischfabrik. If you are looking for fish and chips and a better deal - go to fischfabrik

We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday - she loves fish, but I'm vegetarian. The food was amazing, best fries and salad I've eaten in a while (no joke). Apparently, the fish were also great, but I can't testify that myself ;) Prices are fair, crew is very nice, was a very positive experience!

Pretty good and the side shop is wheelchair accessible. Good service and we were satisfied.

The best sea food pasta I tasted in years. Also very generous dish, and I'm a big guy. A must visit. . . . .

We were curious to check this place out and went without reservations on a random Saturday. Wow -- amazing food! We had the fish tower for two and it did not disappoint. The fish and chips layer was excellent - in fact it was all amazing. Great oysters as well.

I love fish and it is really difficult to find it in Berlin, especially fresh! I visited the place and I ordered the original fish and chips! The fish was really fresh and it was melting in the mouth! And it was served in an English newspaper as it should be ;)!

Grilled Cod Fillet was great! Great portions and fast service. Price was above average though

Just Amazing food! Order the big plate for 2 p. with different fishes,sea food and fried bread in butter. Yummy!!!

This is an amazing little restaurant! I grabbed takeaway from here my first night in Berlin and it was so amazing I decided to grab lunch here before I left. It came out to less than 25 euros for 2 beers, the daily fish and spinach lasagna special, and a grilled salmon platter. The dishes were huge! Each platter comes with a small salad and the grilled salmon had a side of potatoes and garlic bread too. We sat inside but we noticed servers bringing dishes outside and to the right; not sure if there is a bigger dining room nearby? It's great watching your food get cooked and staring at the fresh seafood but the only caveat about sitting inside is you will leave smelling like grilled fish. Another thing is that they accepted my credit card the first night but not the second time I went even though my bill was higher the second time around. Not sure if they only accept credit cards in the evenings or if it depends on your server?

Had the classic fish and chips. Didn't resonate with me that well. The malt vinegar tasted like apple sider vinegar and the fish seemed like it was deep frozen and then dumped into a deep fryer, it was extremely watery. The waiter on duty was knocking back a couple of shots with some of the patrons which resulted in him being overly friendly and not very professional. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the vibe was good. I probably won't eat there again, Or at least not the fish and chips

Fabulous fillets of fish cooked to perfection. Wonderful grilled vegetables and fresh salads. Nicely done chips, too. The excellent waiter accomodated the picky person in our party. The decor is lovely, too.

Excellent fish and chips the portions were well sized and friendly service. The atmosphere is a little cramped but the server is too nice. I seriously had a hard time to stop eating the fish and chips when I was full , they tasted sooo good. The sauces they provided were not needed in my opinion kinda weird tasting, when you have fresh tasty fish the sauce is just to accentuate but these were kinda gross. Ooooh.. just thinking about it makes me want to go back soon. Prices were worth it for the quality cheaper prices usually mean quality loss.Big plus is the ice cream place next door you don't have to go far for desert!

Really good fish! A little bit of a funny setup. I think we ate in the store part of the restaurant? I don't know. The fish was really good though.

The fish and chips here are amazing some of the best I've had in my month of traveling Europe. The staff are very friendly and despite it having a €€ it was far cheaper than I expected it was about €7 for three decent sized portions of fish. Would highly recommend stopping by this place.

Small restaurant but great food. We stopped in just to have a light lunch because we had big dinner plans in a few hours. We shared the sea bass dish and the Bouillabaisse. Both where outstanding. The fish was cooked perfectly, they serve the fish whole and filled with herbs. The decor in the restaurant is nice. The tables are wood and all different, looks a bit like furniture you would have in your own home. They also have a fish market next door if you want to buy fresh fish to take home.

I have passed by & heard of this place so often but never ate here before today... Why did I ever wait so long? The cook was operating at high speed during the end of lunch hour. I ordered a basic fish & chips. Wow! The batter was so light and crispy and the fish so juicy flakey and perfect it was like eating a cloud. So good I didn't put any condiments on it at all. As you eat you can watch the cook do his thing which for me is a bonus since I spent this meal scoping out my next (definitely trying the grill). Can't wait to come back!

Found this place by chance on the Schoenhauser allee and had the best fish and chips for ages and with 3 different dips - they were better and cheaper than in London. Friend had a `Lachsburger` filled with grilled Salmon fillet, excellent. Trendy, cool atmosphere with friendly local staff. If you are in Prenzlauerberg then stop by this place.

Not a huge selection of fish to buy over the counter but good quality. Never tried the food eating there.

It's hard to get good fish in berlin, but this is just amazing. The fish is so fresh. It's pricy (for Berlin), but totally worth it. And nice "local" atmosphere to it.

Great fish and chips. Excellent garlic bread. Salmon and Tuna steaks are also "sehr lecker"!! Three stars as sanitation looks iffy and their burgers aren't good.

Amazing forelle, nice casual little place. You can eat their or just buy fresh fish to cook at home.

Really good fresh and tasty fish. There are always 2-3 lunch-specials for a good price. The fish comes with potatoes or other home made style vegetables.

I read a recommendation for the fischladen in the Easyjet magazine and being a typical Brit abroad had to get my fish and chips on holiday!!! Great, hot fresh food and a big portion as well. You may have to wait for a bit when its busy but it is worth it as everything is cooked to order. Even served on British newspaper which is a nice touch. They also have a place next door now where you can get a milkshake for a dessert with over 100 different flavours. Tried a snickers milkshake which was great. Deffo worth the effort to find these spots on schoenhauser allee.

We've been to fischladen 3 times and fish looks and tastes good, plates are simple but very nice. The only minus is that the fries are like frozen supermarket fries which is really a pity when you order fish'n'chips at 12EUR and fish is great, sauces too but the fries suck. ANDMaybe a little too expensive for what it is (especially the salads).

Definitely best Fisch and Chips in Berlin. The place is a mixture of different vibes - English-style fisch and chips, selection of French wines and a little odd but extremely nice German waiters. I love everything about this place.

We went there tonight primarily on the basis of the Yelp reviews or should I say raves, and we were not at all disappointed. We ate in the fish store/restaurant, at a high table on a bench attached to the wall with cushions under us. I had grilled halibut with home fries and salad and my dining companion had the house specialty, fish and chips, which in this case was superbly deep fried cod along with scrumptious French fries. My halibut was perfectly grilled, but to my palate, I thought it could have been cod, scrod or haddock, as opposed to the typically meatier halibut fish. Nevertheless, we were both pleased and, in fact, I liked my companion's meal more than my own and my companion preferred mine. Including two Pilsners, the tab came to 34 euros. The kicker: after we left, we discovered that the fish store/restaurant had an actual restaurant next door in which we could have eaten at a table, if only our waiter had told us!

This place is amazing. Great attitudes and excellent food.
