Der Schützenhof

We stayed here for one night, and had a ground floor room which was clean, spacious and with a large bathroom, (no bath, walk in shower). It was a quiets night sleep on a very comfortable bed. The hotel manager was very freindly and helpful and spoke very good English. The rate included breakfast, which was one of the best during our travels in Europe, with a selection of fruit, cereal, ham, cheeses & bread. The eggs are cooked to your personal preference. The hotel is very well situated, only a couple of minutes walk from the historic town. We arrived by motorbike which was parked in the small garage under the hotel.

We stayed just one night and much enjoyed a homely welcome from our hosts at this family hotel. The establishment is in easy walking distance from the train station. The breakfast was good and our room was more than adequate for the modest cost. Booked by exchange of emails but trustingly no deposit or credit card detail were requested, although we settled the bill on departure by credit card. Unfortunately we had limited time to enjoy the area and we would love to return sometime. Everything was spotlessly clean and very well maintained.

The hotel is at a very nice location just across the street from the old town. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped, nothing to complain whatsoever. Breakfast has always been well prepared. Special thanks to Iris and other staff for making our trip very comfortable each year we have visited Ahrweiler.

There is nothing negative to say about this hotel. The location is right next to the Old Town and a short walk to Ahrweiler Markt station. Parking is easy and close by. The breakfast has everything you need, with large rooms, comfortable beds and ample bathroom. The service is lovely as well.

Our second stay in 12 months. Iris and her dad are marvelous hosts, charming and helpful. Rooms are immaculate and large with a mini-bar. Perhaps most importantly the beds are excellent, all 4 of us (aged 34-74) slept extremely well.||Breakfast is particularly impressive, generous and surprisingly varied for a small hotel.

We stopped at Iris's for a night on our way to Austria. The place is immaculate and smells like home, there is nothing there to remind you that you are in a clinical, impersonal type of hotels you can find everywhere. The room was huge with a small kitchenette useful as we have a 4 year old who likes to eat at abnormal hours...Iris was so helpful, she even offered us some towels as we planned to try the local thermal spa. The village is soooo sweet and romantic , please use the opportunity to visit inside the walls. the AHR resort experience is a MUST if you find yourself in the area. thank you Iris for your lovely welcoming. see you soon!

The hotel is so conveniently situated just outside one of the main gateways into the walled town of Ahrweiler. The reception received and the care taken of each guest is superb. Each room is well equipped, clean and welcoming. The breakfast available is something to be experienced. There is no risk of starting the day hungry. Family Bonitz have a hands on approach and it shows from the moment you arrive until leaving. Return? Yes. Regularly.

This hotel has nice and big rooms, which are very clean, staff is very friendly, breakfast was really good. Close to the very nice village of Ahrweiler. Shuetzenhof is really highly recommended by our Belgian family!
