Derlon Hotel Maastricht

The location of Derlon hotel is absolut perfect but the condition of the hotel is not more than 2 stars.|Although the management/owner is aware of the immediate renovation that the hotel needs, in order to meet the 4 star standards, still they continue selling the hotel rooms as 4 star with high prices. The hotel needs to close down for immediate ,full renovation of the rooms.A 4 star hotel was once upon a time, now it gives the impression of a hostel.Worn out, broken wash basin, dirty and filthy, bathtub very dirty, towel worn out with a big hole, wall to wall carpets very dirty inside and outside the room.A very poor housekeeping.As the owner is new and asks for suggestions, I would say only this: respect your guests. Do not sell "product and services" when you are not able to deliver them.Create positive experiences, not negative to your guests that will be enough.

This hotel is in the best location to visit the city surrounded by bars, restaurants and the church. Lovely atmosphere and well lit at night. Reception staff welcoming. Room lovely and spacious, dont expect a brilliant view but not there for that. My only niggle would be that the beds are quote narrow, apart from that couldn't fault it. We didn't eat here but food and drink looked amazing. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel was excellent. The staff the best. Our room was extremely nice. I want to mention Julianne. Pardon if I spelled it wrong. My wife had injured herself on the trip headed to the hotel. Julianne got her to her room early and set her up with ice and ibuprofen.

Prime located in Maastricht, this modern but cosy hotel has all to make your stay pleasant and a success. Its clear new management emphasized on attracting excellent staff, just making the experience personal and very enjoyable across the hotel. Good restaurant, and great wine selections made by the sommelier. The room is comfortable, airco system very handy. Last, the breakfast location (tasty local food), honouring Maastrichts Roman past is a good surprise. Do not let other reviews put you off, worth a visit!

Disappointing stay at this hotel. The rooms and especially the bathrooms need desperate updating. The towels were completely worn and had holes in them, only 3(!) tissues in the tissue box, the cleaning staff entering the room without knocking, dusty mirrors, worn carpet and a shower curtain… Hardly things you would expect in a 5star hotel. There are better hotels in the city which are in the same price range but offer a better worth for your money.

An excellent place to stay if you love history. Unbelievable that some parts of the hotel belong to Roman empire. The rooms have all facilities and the staff is amazingly wonderful. Location is absolutely great as uts in heart of city with everything around. I recommend no other place to stay in Maastricht, except Derlon.

we arrived at the hotel to visit the roman ruins underneath , the staff were lovely, so friendly, some of the nicest people we met in the netherlands. the ruins were amazing we loved it, thank you for allowing access. The town of maastricht was ok, lots of shops , we walked around to enjoy the history, the staff in the information office were so rude, talking to themselves could not care less about helping, and no toilets in the whole town what an uncivilised place. Much nicer places than maastricht, try woerden its magic

Great location, good food/drinks and friendly staff. Unfortunately the rooms are in need of an update. This is not the cheapest hotel in Maastricht but the rooms don’t reflect this, the rooms ate clean but very outdated. We have stayed several times but are not sure about the next time. Hopefully by then the rooms have renovated.

This hotel is situated at a lovely square in the centre of town. What i liked: - location - breakfast buffet -during covid (oct'20), the exellent restaurant is open for guests. Do note, restaurant may be called louis brasserie or derlon restaurant, but it is actually the same What i did not like: - room with no view (room 111) - noisy airconditioning - no tea maker in room. And the nespresso coffee machine did not work - they overcharged me for touristtax (double of what i should have paid). Luckily, i checked the bill. Next time i would probably choose another place to stay.

One of my favorite places to come to. I've stayed here multiple times. The rooms are very cozy, the staff is very friendly and and the food is very good in my opinion. You will be glad you stayed here.
