Derlon Hotel Maastricht

This is a superb hotel. The staff are friendly, attentive and always wiling to go the extra mile for guests. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, the breakfast are absolutely marvellous and its location is excellent. Thoroughly recommend it.

we arrived at the hotel to visit the roman ruins underneath , the staff were lovely, so friendly, some of the nicest people we met in the netherlands. the ruins were amazing we loved it, thank you for allowing access. The town of maastricht was ok, lots of shops , we walked around to enjoy the history, the staff in the information office were so rude, talking to themselves could not care less about helping, and no toilets in the whole town what an uncivilised place. Much nicer places than maastricht, try woerden its magic

Verry nice hotel located on a beautiful alive plaze and little ally’s with beautiful shops the hotel has a lot of history combined with a modern atmosphere

they take hours to serve you at the terrace. Sometimes they even look at you and leave, even when waiving. I had to move to the terrace nearby because the service.....

Great location, good food/drinks and friendly staff. Unfortunately the rooms are in need of an update. This is not the cheapest hotel in Maastricht but the rooms don’t reflect this, the rooms ate clean but very outdated. We have stayed several times but are not sure about the next time. Hopefully by then the rooms have renovated.

I love this hotel. It’s in a great location for walking around, shopping, or enjoying a relaxing meal or drink. The area is not secluded but not crowed either and the hotel faces a nice square with plenty of covered seating and food choices. The staff has been exceptional every time I’ve visited. They offer breakfast with eggs to order with both American and European food choices. And, the hotel sits on some exposed Roman ruins you can view while having breakfast downstairs. It’s one of my favorites places.

Walked from station to hotel which was fine. Couldn’t work out where entrance was then realised it was attached to the restaurant. The bar does not have any seats so you sit at restaurant tables…..strange?! |Drinks and menu great. Good value for money. Restaurant menu limited. However excellent restaurant service and they wanted to please. First glass of wine was taster level, improved with 2nd. ||Our room was clean and small (deluxe) and smelt of smoke. Very tired. Could hardly move in bathroom. Black shower curtain. Small bath. No shower area.||After our first day out we realised what a perfect location. However, went for drink at the hotel and nobody served us or acknowledged us. Even when we got up and left we were ignored. Sad to say previous reviews are correct on service. Breakfast nice however nobody acknowledges you. I don’t understand? You could be anyone from outside. Yiu are just ignored. ||Such a pretty town and I would return but NEVER to this hotel.

Great location and friendly staff, entry/restaurant is nice but dont be fooled by this. The rooms are ancient and the bathrooms date back to the stone age, plain terrible. Hotel is not worthy of 5 stars! Breakfast had diverse choices and was good enough. Save you money and look elsewhere until they redo the rooms and bathrooms in a 21st century style.

This hotel is situated at a lovely square in the centre of town. What i liked: - location - breakfast buffet -during covid (oct'20), the exellent restaurant is open for guests. Do note, restaurant may be called louis brasserie or derlon restaurant, but it is actually the same What i did not like: - room with no view (room 111) - noisy airconditioning - no tea maker in room. And the nespresso coffee machine did not work - they overcharged me for touristtax (double of what i should have paid). Luckily, i checked the bill. Next time i would probably choose another place to stay.

One of my favorite places to come to. I've stayed here multiple times. The rooms are very cozy, the staff is very friendly and and the food is very good in my opinion. You will be glad you stayed here.
