This was our first stay at Desa Hay—and our first experience with a Hilton SLH (Small Luxury Hotels) property. Our time here was a delicious taste of hotel perfection. The difference is in the details, and Desa Hay has thought of nearly everything—so we didn’t have to think at all.||||As with all truly exceptional hotels, it’s the people who make the experience. The staff-to-guest ratio is extraordinary, and every team member we encountered was an expert in their role. There’s a clear culture of teamwork here, and it shows. We were cared for with a level of professionalism that was matched only by the warm Indonesian charm and genuine smiles we received throughout our stay.||||Housekeeping provided meticulous twice-daily service, keeping our villa in a constant state of perfection. The culinary team—cooks, servers, bartenders—operates at the top of their game. Craft cocktails and beautifully presented meals were a daily delight for both the eyes and the palate. And the grounds are impeccably maintained. You truly feel surrounded by a curated garden of paradise.||||Each villa reflects the architectural charm of Indonesia—like the Sumatran Bolon-style rooflines—blended with natural stone, wood, and bamboo textures. But it’s also equipped with all the comforts, thoughtful design touches, and smart technology you’d expect from a world-class luxury hotel. Lighting, outlets, controls, and tech connectivity are all top notch.||||Desa Hay is full of thoughtful surprises and design inspirations that made us smile throughout our stay. Their brand, a subtle homage to the Bolon house, is woven tastefully throughout the property. The main pool is a lush, garden-framed retreat, and the furniture and fixtures are as comfortable as they are stylish.||||A heartfelt thank you to the team that took such great care of us—and to the designers who brought this lovely vision to life. We’re already dreaming of our return.||||Location Note: Desa Hay is located along a primary north-south road, so some intermittent daytime traffic noise is to be expected. Thankfully, it quiets down in the evening.
