"Desa Seni It’s hard to believe Desa Seni is only a short drive from the crowded beaches and shopping strips of North Kuta and Seminyak. Amid a lush landscape of native plants and waterways, the resort’s antique wooden homes are arranged around a saltwater pool like a tiny Hindu village and were imported, restored, and decorated with bright cushions and religious artifacts. Much of the land was dedicated to an organic farm, which today is responsible for almost 80 percent of Desa Seni’s produce. Sustainability standards seep into the recycling and composting programs, too, and eco-friendly glass straws and biodegradable cleaning products are used in place of harmful alternatives. In addition to the environmental and cultural experiences provided at Desa Seni, wellness is also a focus. A number of complimentary yoga and meditation classes are held every day; the restaurant offers extensive options for healthy meals; andregular yoga and spirituality workshops are held throughout the year. Desa Seni also raises money for a local orphanage, for which it runs yoga and dance classes as well as English lessons."

9 Best Spas in Bali | Condé Nast Traveler

"With a name that means "village of art" in Bahasa Indonesian, Desa Seni is a delight. From the moment you arrive at the open-air reception, step down into the garden, and see the thatched cabins, you'll feel like you're in a fairytale. Canggu has been advancing from a low-key surfing enclave into a bustling destination that rivals Seminyak, but this little patch—10 minutes from Berawa—still feels like a peaceful hideaway, all within grasp of the action." - Juliet Kinsman

Spent a few days at Desa Seni with my 7 y/o daughter over the New Years and I couldn't have wished for a more beautiful spot. I used to live next door to the OG Desa Seni in Canggu years ago & have very fond memories of the place and this new location & glow up certainly did not disappoint. The rooms were stunning and so beautifully crafted, every corner of the whole property was so intentionally created. The whole place was spacious and serene with a beautiful big pool. The food was NEXT LEVEL - you don't imagine venturing into the jungle to discover absolutely exquisite food - Chef Willy is a master of his craft! We spent quite a bit of time in the art space, making jewelry, decorating hats & making Canang - such a perfect space to create & wonderful to share with my daughter. The staff were wonderful - Ayu was so friendly and another of the staff took my bike to the bengkel to get my brakes fixed as on the drive up from Tabanan I realised our brakes didn't work so well (not ideal for steep windy mountain roads). We had visions of taking little adventures out the estate during the days but found ourseoves loving being cocooned in the wonderful grounds of Desa Seni that we didn't leave until it was time to say goodbye! We had a lovely (and challenging) yoga class with Nana and lit a fire in the fire pit for New Years eve. This has without a doubt raised the bar on weekend trips away for us in Bali! We will be back xx

Desa Seni Retreat, Baturiti – a truly special place I stayed at Desa Seni for six nights and honestly, I loved every moment. The place is just beautiful — quiet, full of nature, far from all the city noise and crowds. Everything there feels made with love — the wooden houses, the gardens, the little corners where you can just sit and breathe. It’s the kind of place where you really can slow down and feel yourself again. People are so warm and kind, they make you feel like you’re part of a big family. Yoga classes were amazing, very focused on technique, and I actually learned a lot. And the food… wow. Chef Willy cooks like an artist, with passion and care. Every dish was fresh, local, and so tasty that I was looking forward to every meal. You can tell the owner has a real eye for beauty — everything looks just right. I left feeling calm, happy, and honestly, I can’t wait to go back. 🌸

A Transformative Mountain Retreat at Desa Seni - My stay at Desa Seni was absolutely amazing — truly a retreat for the mind, body, and soul. Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Bali, this place radiates peace and authenticity from the moment you arrive. The plant-based cuisine was nothing short of spectacular. Every meal was a vibrant, nourishing experience, crafted with such care and creativity by the chef. You can truly taste the love and intention in every bite. The accommodations were unique, charming, and deeply restorative. Each space felt thoughtfully designed, allowing me to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with myself in the most natural way. A special thank you to Thomas and his magnificent team for his wonderful attention and warmth throughout my stay — their care made the experience feel even more personal and memorable. Thank you, Desa Seni, for creating such a magical and healing environment. I left feeling grounded, inspired, and deeply grateful. I can’t wait to return! 🌿✨

I’m still processing the beauty and the magic of Desa Seni. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. I would rate this place 100/10 if I could. Food was fantastic, service was exceptional and warm, massages and other services were excellent, and the rooms were amazing. Do yourself a favor and commit to spending a few days here to see a different side of Bali. Very grateful to Thomas and his amazing team!

This is everything I could have asked for of a eco resort, beautiful, lush well kept space, a pool, yoga, meditation space, an art room where we could paint or decorate hats. The rooms were lovely, the beds comfortable, lots of attention to detail, quotes left on our beds in the evenings. The staff waited on us hand & foot & the food was delicious & nutritional (albeit would have preferred something more traditional Balinese)

Desa Seni was the perfect place to start our holiday in Bali. It's in a lush, relaxing part of the island, away from any traffic. The property itself is stunning, every room is an authentic Indonesia house. The light and warmth and scale is really special. The furnishings, fabrics, landscaping and sculpture are all stunning. One of the many simple pleasures was walking along the smooth rock paths that crisscross the gardens and looking at plants and art along the way. We spent a lot of time sitting by the beautiful, natural stone pool, drinking ginger tea. An unexpected highlight was the phenomenal food. Every dish was so well considered. The chef uses local ingredients (many grown onsite) and flavours and takes them to another level. We looked forward to every meal. The service was excellent, we felt very well looked after. After checking out, I dropped my credit card and Thomas got in touch and arranged to have it delivered to where I was staying, close to an hour's drive away. Many thanks!
