Descanso Resort - A Gay Men's Resort

My spouse and I just returned home from a 7 night stay at Descanso. This was my first time visiting Palm Springs and my husband’s second. Our stay at Descanso far exceeded our expectations! ||||The property is beautiful and the staff is superb. We felt like family by the time we left to come home! Charles, Dustin, and the rest of the staff worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was perfect on every level. We were looking for rest and relaxation and that’s what we got! We also made several friends during the course of the week.||||You will not regret staying at Descanso. We are already ready to go back :)

I can’t say enough good things about my recent stay at Descanso Resort. From the moment I arrived, the team went above and beyond — warm, attentive, and truly committed to creating a welcoming and relaxing experience. The property itself is gorgeous and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the cantina stocked with drinks and snacks, which made lounging by the pool or relaxing in the afternoon even better. My room was spacious, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The sheets kept me cool all night, and the plush towels were some of the nicest I’ve ever used in a hotel. Every detail felt elevated and intentional. If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautifully curated stay with standout hospitality, I highly recommend Descanso. I’ll absolutely be back!

We just spent a week at Descanso and can't say enough about it. What a wonderful place. The amazing detail-oriented service started even before we arrived, and continued until we sadly left. The property is kept meticulously clean. The staff is attentive and friendly. The breakfast and lunch(!) that are provided were delicious and offered good choices, and there was a supply of soft drinks, coffee, and snacks available 24/7. The landscaping is beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed, and quiet. The location was away from most of the gay scene, but close enough that it was easy to get to and from. I don't hesitate to recommend a stay at Descanso, and will be looking forward to staying here again.

I'm not long back from another week at Descanso (my third visit) and it remains as perfect as ever. Arriving here is like coming back to an old friend. The grounds are as well-kept as ever, the rooms are still stylish and super-clean, the breakfasts and lunches are still generous and included in the rate. The cantina is still open 24/7 and is well stocked with cold drinks, sodas, a coffee machine and cookies. Complimentary happy hours and Sunday morning mimosas add that finishing touch to a lazy weekend. Charles, Dustin and the rest of the team continue to manage everything incredibly well, and play a huge part in creating such a relaxing and welcoming environment. You will have gathered that I'm already looking forward to coming back.

My partner and I stayed at Descanso over the 4th of July holiday weekend, and it was nothing short of exceptional. We also loved the daily light breakfast (delicious and fresh) and the lunches, which were convenient and tasty! Every detail, from the hospitality to the ambiance, felt intentional and inviting. We spent our days lounging poolside with cocktails, chatting with other guests (everyone was incredibly friendly), and just soaking up the peaceful, adults-only atmosphere. Our room was spotless and stylish, with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. We also loved the stocked snack basket, robes, and high-end bath products — every detail felt intentional and generous. But what really sets Descanso apart is the staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind — always one step ahead, but never overbearing. It made the entire experience feel effortless. This was our 4th stay, and it absolutely won’t be our last. If you’re looking for a beautiful, welcoming men’s resort in Palm Springs, Descanso is a standout. We’re already counting down the days until we’re back in November for Pride weekend!

I usually don’t write reviews either good or bad but felt I had to write a review of the Descanso. It was the most enjoyable hotel stay I have in years. The rooms are large well renovated and decorated in perfect mid-century modern. They really have thought of everything you might need. Souvenir water bottles, snacks, extra pillows, extra blankets, electric blinds, lovely bath products. The staff (especially Dustin) made me feel like they were truly glad to have us there. The continental breakfast, lunch, happy hour and beverages were icing on the cake. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back in the near future.

First time staying and it was amazing. Rooms were beautiful, property was gorgeous. Staff was amazing and attentive to all needs. They always checked up, an were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast and lunch were quality and fresh. The Cantina was great and well stocked. Highly recommend this resort.
