The spa and pool deck are beautifully lit and inviting day and night, and we felt completely safe and relaxed throughout our stay. We had such an amazing time for a full week at Descanso! The staff were so friendly, professional, and helpful. The room and common areas were fantastic. Everything was cleaned daily and so tastefully decorated. Convenient location and enjoyed the pool and lounging. Great to have breakfast and lunch provided! I would not hesitate to recommend Descanso to anyone for a visit to Palm Springs but also we plan on returning!

My spouse and I just returned home from a 7 night stay at Descanso. This was my first time visiting Palm Springs and my husband’s second. Our stay at Descanso far exceeded our expectations! ||||The property is beautiful and the staff is superb. We felt like family by the time we left to come home! Charles, Dustin, and the rest of the staff worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was perfect on every level. We were looking for rest and relaxation and that’s what we got! We also made several friends during the course of the week.||||You will not regret staying at Descanso. We are already ready to go back :)

My husband and I had the absolute best time at Descanso Resort — from the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed, welcomed, and taken care of. It’s rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and laid-back, but Descanso pulls it off effortlessly. The property is beautiful — lush landscaping, a sparkling pool with mountain views, and so many thoughtful touches everywhere you look. We spent our days lounging poolside with cocktails, chatting with other guests (everyone was incredibly friendly), and just soaking up the peaceful, adults-only atmosphere. Our room was spotless and stylish, with one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. We also loved the stocked snack basket, robes, and high-end bath products — every detail felt intentional and generous. But what really sets Descanso apart is the staff. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind — always one step ahead, but never overbearing. It made the entire experience feel effortless. This was our 4th stay, and it absolutely won’t be our last. If you’re looking for a beautiful, welcoming men’s resort in Palm Springs, Descanso is a standout. We’re already counting down the days until we’re back in November for Pride weekend!

We had a great time at Descanso. Our first time. Had previously stayed at sister property Santiago. Both great. I like all the plants. Bring your favorite bug spray for mosquitos. Pool and spa set at good temperatures. Many other friendly guests to hang with. Extremely well maintained rooms and landscaping.

We just spent a week at Descanso and can't say enough about it. What a wonderful place. The amazing detail-oriented service started even before we arrived, and continued until we sadly left. The property is kept meticulously clean. The staff is attentive and friendly. The breakfast and lunch(!) that are provided were delicious and offered good choices, and there was a supply of soft drinks, coffee, and snacks available 24/7. The landscaping is beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed, and quiet. The location was away from most of the gay scene, but close enough that it was easy to get to and from. I don't hesitate to recommend a stay at Descanso, and will be looking forward to staying here again.

I'm not long back from another week at Descanso (my third visit) and it remains as perfect as ever. Arriving here is like coming back to an old friend. The grounds are as well-kept as ever, the rooms are still stylish and super-clean, the breakfasts and lunches are still generous and included in the rate. The cantina is still open 24/7 and is well stocked with cold drinks, sodas, a coffee machine and cookies. Complimentary happy hours and Sunday morning mimosas add that finishing touch to a lazy weekend. Charles, Dustin and the rest of the team continue to manage everything incredibly well, and play a huge part in creating such a relaxing and welcoming environment. You will have gathered that I'm already looking forward to coming back.

We just spent the most restful week at the Descanso on the Northern side of Palm Springs. This is not our first trip, but our Thanksgiving was so much better for having been guests at this lovely, beautifully maintained and amiable retreat. We had a horrible experience last year at a hotel we thought was our forever place who tightened their budgets in the most inelegant ways while still charging more than twice what we paid for our stay at the Descanso (you can search for my previous reviews). The Descanso provides both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served hot and to order every morning in a small kitchen which is open 24/7 for the guests, and has snacks during the day and a great coffee machine which will make pretty much whatever hot beverage you have in mind. You will not lose weight here, but you will enjoy gaining it. Lunch is brought from a couple of local restaurants and it, too, is very good. Speaking of service, the Descanso like its big sister hotel, the Santiago, is absolutely customer centric. Everyone works very hard to insure your vacation is exactly what you wanted. I thank Charles (Manager) Dustin (Asst. Manager) and the rest of the staff who truly care about your comfort and satisfaction The grounds are smaller than the Santiago (larger than the other member of this group, The Twin Palms, where I haven't stayed) but meticulously maintained. The pool and spa are serviced daily, the greenery is constantly maintained (I forgot to take the lemons - I asked to take - growing in the couryard which are beautiful). The accomodations are no less beautiful, in a post-modern Palm Springs sensibility with lush wallpaper and comfy furniture. This location is very close to the Palm Canyon Restaurants and shopping so you're never more than ten minutes drive from your dinner there. By the end of our holiday, we felt very connected to the other guests as it's small enough to be congenial but large enough to keep to yourself if that's your choice. It was a perfect stay at a perfect hotel which has replaced the unmentionable as our go-to for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I can go on and on about this place. It's our go to whenever we're in the desert. Service is always amazing and the details of everything, that's why we're always back.... It's not a big property but is packed with everything. About 16 rooms. I love that they'll text you to see what your arrival time will be. It's nice in a sense that they see what they can do to accommodate your room availability. If it isn't ready, you're always welcome to come and utilize the property and pool until it's ready. Your luggage can be held while you relax. Another amazing perks about this place, they have a 24 hour cantina that offers soda, water, Starbucks coffee, cookies, popcorn, fruit and so on. Ice maker is there as well. A mini snack shop/kitchen. Not only that, continental breakfast every morning between a certain time. Take it to your room, have it by the pool or tables. Fresh fruit salad, parfait, croissant, bagels, fruits, muffins, eggs and different protein choices that's different each day. Also the selection of juices. During the weekend, there's the mimosas and champagne cart that's self serve. The perks to this place. Lounges are always nice. Very thick and plush. Umbrellas are scattered throughout the pool area. To top things off, they come around with popsicle both with and without alcohol. Yumm when it's hot. And cold eucalyptus towels for your face. If that isn't amazing service. Lunch is also included. Just place your order by a certain time and it's delivered around 12:30. The rooms are all pretty big, nice king sized bed which is quite comfortable. A nice modern and mid century feel to it. Rooms does have a separate seating area and well as a workspace. Nice plush bathrrobes are also in the room as well as a fridge. Service is always excellent. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Even the guest, everyone becomes friends during the stay. Will be back again soon.

Once again, Descanso is our Go-To resort in Palm Springs. It IS EVERYTHING you want in a getaway resort: beautiful surroundings; comfortable accommodation; luxurious amenities; and above all - helpful and charming staff, whose only concern is to make sure you feel well cared for. When locals ask where we're staying, the response is always "Excellent choice!" It's the only place for me.

Our stay at Descanso Resort exceeded all expectations. On our way Charles sent us a welcoming text message, he was responsive in answering my questions about an EV charging station (which they have) and he met us at the gate upon our arrival. He gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our room. Upon entering we found a tin of Brandini's Toffee, candle and birthday card to celebrate my partner's birthday (thank you Charles)! The saline pool is maintained at 90 degrees and the jacuzzi is warm and relaxing. The guests were all friendly and low-key and a continental breakfast is provided every morning at 8:00 a.m. (thank you Bob and Vlad) and a lunch from Aspen Bakery at 12:30 p.m. (pre-ordered by 11:00 a.m.) and wine time is Thur-Sat at 4:00 p.m. (thank you Dustin) and mimosas are served every Sunday morning. We've stayed at Santiago (pre-pandemic) and plan to check out Twin Palms, but Descanso is definitely our speed (relaxed, quiet, mature, and comfortable "Au Naturel")

My go to hotel in PS. I always have a wonderful and relaxing time at Descanso! We visited for my buds birthday and they were kind enough to provide him a card and a gift, which was very nice of them. They have an Awesome staff that takes care of the guests and keeps the property clean, and they provide a nice, simple breakfast as well as a "to order" lunch from one of the local deli's that is included in the fee. Highly recommended!

BF and I stayed at Descanso recently for a long weekend. Upon arrival I remembered staying at this resort a million years ago when it was East Canyon Resort. The place has been revamped completely and very nicely. The room was super comfortable and we were texted prior to our arrival letting us know that the room was ready and available for early check in whenever we arrived. Nice touch! It's not inexpensive, but when you consider that breakfast and lunch are included in the room charge, as well as a variety of beverages and snacks throughout the day, it makes for a pretty good value! Plus they appear to have (and use) a pool cooler so that the water temp of the pool isn't like a bathtub, even on the hottest of summer days. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Cheers to Dustin who helped us check in and was always available to help when needed and to Michael who was in charge of the kitchen for breakfast, and all the staff who worked to ensure the snack area was well stocked with drinks and munchies. Everything was delightful from check-in to checkout. Looking forward to trying one of the sister resorts (Santiago or Twin Palms) sometime soon!

This lovely, private oasis is the perfect place to unwind and meet other friendly guests in a luxurious pool. The rooms are clean and spacious, with ground floor views of the pool and upper level views of the mountains as well. Every interaction with the staff was kind and attentive. Every moment was easy and comfortable. The clothing optional setting made it liberating to boot!

I had an amazing stay at this beautifully renovated resort. The staff and grounds were fantastic. My suite was well updated with comfortable bed linens and towels. The location is walking distance to downtown, gym and restaurant. Can't wait to return

This was our first visit to Descanso. Everything about our visit to Descanso was 5 star. The hotel is beautiful, well appointed, immaculate, relaxing, with excellent service. The grounds are lush with vegetation and The staff are top of class in service, friendliness and giving you the feeling that you are #1 their priority and it is truly their pleasure to make sure you are having the best stay possible. The rooms are well appointed very comfortable. 3 days was far from enough. We will definitely be back and not soon enough.

Two words to describe Descanso: pampered and oasis. Service is impeccable from amenities to ambiance. Surrounding is restful with a pool that sparks. Thanks and always a place like home.

Spent a couple of days solo and met the most incredible people by the time my friend arrived. Descanso is sized appropriately to facilitate conversation with strangers and most everyone was engaging and delightful. We only left for dinner; otherwise the day is spent lounging about and catching up on reading and getting to know everyone. Cannot wait to return.

We have visited Descanso Resort many times and I can say they are consistent in the way they treat their guests and the care given to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their stay. The staff here work hard to make sure everything is in the best condition and rooms are kept very clean and stocked as needed by their guests. When we visit Palm Springs this is the place I always try and book to ensure our vacation is a great one.

I stayed here for a few nights in January and absolutely loved this spot! From the little welcome basket of snacks in your room, to the cute Cabana with all the snacks and mixers you could ever want, this place is gold. Parking was easy and right in front. The staff that works here go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a 10/10, specifically Kent who was so nice and helpful. This is a clothing optional resort and I felt comfortable the whole time here. We stayed in room #28, and loved it! The space was large and clearly has been updated. All in all this was a perfect hotel experience, can't wait to come back for another visit.

My first time there, only for one night but it made me want to stay there for a WHOLE MONTH. The property is immaculate, and the room was great! There were always complimentary beverages available whenever I needed, and a great selection for breakfast too. Very thoughtful of them to offer healthy options like fruit and yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. But the staff was what MADE the whole experience. I went there by myself but never felt alone because they were so friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and I will for sure be visiting again!!!!

The staff at Descanso is lovely. Dustin, Vlad, Charles, Robert, and everyone else we encountered made our stay extra special. The resort was quiet, clean, peaceful, and just the right amount of social.

The Descanso is a great resort if serenity and great service is what you're looking for in a Palm Springs escape. There were lots of couples at this resort which makes it a great destination for a Honeymoon or a couples only vacation, but left me (someone who is single) feeling a little left out, or less inclined to be extremely social. The best parts of the resort are; the design, the service, the peacefulness, and of course the free Breakfast, and free Lunch. The only thing that will keep me from booking with them right away will be the fact that it's a long walk away from the downton area, especially if Arenas Road is one of your vacation destinations. You'll be driving to other places a lot, or taking Lyft/Uber to get anywhere noteworthy. I can definitely see myself returning to Descanso at some point, and enjoyed my stay a lot, it just won't be my first choice of resort when staying in Palm Springs.

Great experience - just believe all the reviews. Kent and Holden were fantastic and easy to communicate with prior to arrival and was easily able to change our reservation due to a friend staying with us last minute. Upon arrival (early), everything was all set and check in was a breeze. Everything in the room is well appointed; amenity upon check in, smart tv, robes, plenty of towels, nice shower (meant to take a picture as they don't have any!). Staff was great throughout the stay - Kent, Holden, Joe, and I want to say, Emmanuel (if I remember his name tag correctly - it was his birthday on ones of the days). Guests were all nice and friendly. Pool was lovely, as was the hot tub and fire pit (and breakfast by the fire pit) - with mimosas on Sunday. Only couple misses were the slight noise as we were on the bottom level by the entrance, and they didn't service our room one day, but thankfully we were able to grab Holden and grab some extra towels to get through - but they still get 5 stars. Lovely place, but also want to try their other locations! Pro travel tip: use the mass transit bus within a block and only $1 to get to/from downtown.

Superb place to stay in Palm Springs! A few words: Private. Discrete. Intimate. Low-key. Well appointed. Terrific, Attentive & Communicative Staff. Worth every dollar. Close, but removed from the buzz of downtown. Wonderful courtyard, pool, hot tub, fire pit. No complaints...only praise! Do not deliberate....book your stay here!

Third time staying here and it just gets better and better. Their attention to detail and hospitality is the best. Great suggestions for local food and a property that is clean and maintained superbly. Staff is exceptionally welcoming.

This resort is a perfect place for single gay men and couples to relax. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated, and the amenities are plentiful: king beds, free breakfast with lots of options served poolside, 24 hour self-serve cantina, free box lunch, jacuzzi, fire pit, heated pool, outside shower and poolside bathroom, happy hour... I could go on. The resort is small enough that it's not overly crowded, yet big enough that there's always someone poolside or jacuzzi side to chat with. We have been there twice for weeklong visits and made friends for life both times. We almost never leave the property because it's the perfect place to relax. I almost don't want to recommend it because I'm afraid I might not get reservations if it becomes known how awesome this place is, but we've already made our plans to come back a third time.

What a great resort for my Palm Springs getaway! Thank you Charles & Dustin for making my visit so enjoyable. GREAT amenities (including breakfast & lunch, bikes, cold towels by the pool, happy hour), not to mention that "get the 7th day free when you book for a week" perk. This came in handy when my flight home had to be rebooked, and I was able to stay one more night at no charge. And not as expensive as other men's resorts in PS. LOVE this place!

Our stay at Descanso was amazing. It was the perfect staycation. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. The staff took personal interest to ensure we were cared for. We will definitely stay here again!

This was our second stay at this men's resort, and it feels like home. Kent is a terrific host who makes each guest feel special and is willing to help with any questions or suggestions. Very close to Indian Canyon and Palm Canyon restaurants making it possible to walk to dinner when the temps aren't too high. Weekends get booked up early so suggest you make your reservation as soon as you can. Staff is very friendly. Free parking right in front of resort.

I just got back from Palm Springs. It was my first time ever visiting the area and I am so glad I stayed at Descanso. The resort is great. The location is walkable to good restaurants and shops or if you would like you may use one of the bikes provided by the resort to ride down to downtown Palm Springs. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The little touches and attention to detail were great: a little welcome basket with snacks, the nice smelling soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion and of course the free bottomless mimosas. I appreciated that breakfast was provided as well as lunch, which was delivered everyday. There is also a cantina off of the pool area stocked with drinks and snacks. The pool area includes a hot tub, mist sprayers for very hot days, and lounge chairs to sunbathe, read, or socialize with other resort guests. The pool itself has the right temperature and a good size for the location. The staff were super friendly, accommodating and all around great. I felt so carefree and relaxed during my stay as the staff was ready to answer any question or request I had. Lastly, the clientele was super interesting. I met a lot of highly educated men (most of the guys I met held advance degrees from prestigious schools), who had interesting careers, interests, and life experiences. It was so great to be in a place where I felt so free to be myself. I can't express how much I really loved this place! I plan on coming back either to Descanso or trying its other sister locations: Twin Palms or Santiago.

Had such a nice weekend here! It was my first time at a men's only, clothing optional resort and I found it to be such a blast. The staff is excellent. Right away, Kent made us feel warm and welcomed and introduced us to all the amenities we could partake in over the weekend, and Maxwell did a great job taking care of us throughout our stay. 10/10 would come back again soon!

This last stay at Descanso over the Labor Day holiday represented a year of visiting there at least every other month. Every stay confirms what I've been passing along for a year....it's just Great! From the extremely well appointed rooms, to the beautiful well kept property, to the delicious continental breakfast, to the tasty lunch offerings, to the very high caliber visitors, and finally... to the fantastic staff. What a wonderful resort in Palm Springs we found based on a friend's strong recommendation. This is one of the cleanest resorts I've ever stayed at. The staff (Kent, Maxwell and all) were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very large and our suite had a separately living room and enormous bathroom with large soaking tub (+ shower). The included daily breakfast was so nice and the complementary lunch was a bonus we hadn't expected. Oh, and the weekend wine in the evenings - again totally unexpected. Definitely enjoyed ourselves and will visit again.

This was my first time to Palm Springs and therefore my first visit to Descanso. For further context, Descanso is not a new build resort, rather this is a property that was renovated and re-opened as Descanso Resort. Descanso absolutely did not disappoint. I was greeted at the curb by Kent, who was able to quickly get me checked in. I arrived at 11:30am (well before check-in time) with plans to just hang out and get some work done until check-in at 3pm, but the team did their very best to get my room ready as soon as possible, which only took about 15 minutes. During that time, I was able to enjoy the property and get some last minute work done at the tables by the cantina. Once in my room, I noticed that everything was well appointed. It was difficult to tell that this property was actually renovated because everything felt so premium. The rooms are very spacious for the size of the property, and they all face the pool. The room contained all the necessary amenities, and some of the most comfortable robes to wear around the property. I visited in February when the nights are a bit chilly, so it was nice to be able to wear the robe down to get coffee in the morning or for trips to the jacuzzi. Additional property amenities that I loved were the fire pit, cantina (water, popcorn, cookies, coffee, ice, and other essentials), daily breakfast, and daily lunch. I was also fortunate to plan my trip during the week, which landed me free wine from 3pm-5pm Thurs-Sun. I mean it can't get much better than this. However, there is no alcohol to purchase on property, so if you plan to drink poolside, be sure to BYOB for your stay. There's also a liquor store within walking distance for visitors without their own car or a rental. Additionally, the staff addressed me by my first name the entire time I stayed at Descanso, which goes to show their attention to detail and the premium guest experience they offer. This trip alone has now inspired me to start looking to when I can book again! I can't speak with any validity in comparative terms, but I have heard from the other guests, who have all been to Palm Springs countless times, that Descanso is much more relaxation focused than the sister properties and other clothing-optional resorts. Don't get me wrong, I met SO many great guys throughout the weekend, and we definitely had our fair share of fun (and wine), but it was definitely the relax and recharge I was looking for. I HIGHLY recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in Palm Spring regardless whether "clothing optional" is part of your criteria or not. I wish I could give more stars!

From walking in to check in and then leaving at check out my husband's, bf's and I experience was amazing. A birthday card was left for me in my room along with snacks. They have cantina where all mixers for your drinks are available with soda and water, Starbucks coffee. They also have wine-o-clock. Kent was amazing. So welcoming, accommodating and personable. When he comes in to do his duties in the morning he checks in with everyone to make sure their stay is great. The house keeping crew was also amazing. I can't express how much everyone was welcoming and accommodating.

Descanso Resort offers the same amazing service you'd get from the sister resorts. Kent is so friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool offers noodles and lounge floaties, the jacuzzi is on the smaller side but so nice and warm. The pool was warmer than Twin Palms, which I appreciated! The outdoor bathroom is big and has a shower plus there's the outdoor shower. I love the two free electric car chargers (SUCH A NICE BONUS). You get the same yummy breakfast, free lunch, popsicles during the day, free drinks and snacks 24/7 and happy hour wine. All the guests were friendly and outgoing.

i'm so happy i stumbled upon this place while looking for a great place to spend my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. We had such a great time! The pool area is clothing optional which was something new for me, but i really enjoyed being free lol. The room was very clean, smelled nice, and so many things were available to us at all times. A few complimentary things I really appreciated: beverages, snacks, poolside lunch, bicycles, coffee (they have a starbucks drink dispenser), and wine!! All the staff we interacted with are very attentive, sweet, and welcoming! i have absolutely nothing bad to say about Descanso, 10/10. I can't wait to come back and check out their other two properties in Palm Springs!

The staff here go out of their way to make sure everything you need is there. From offering a popsicle on a hot day to setting the room up and orienting you to the resort, it's a slice of calm in a sea of stress. Will most definitely return.

After staying at the sister property Santiago, I was expecting a similar experience. I actually enjoy Descanso even more, if that's possible. It's small, cozy, very well maintained, and Kent and the staff are extremely attentive and always friendly. Usually after a few days I'm ready to move on. After 4 days at Descanso I didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back.

The management, Charles and Maxwell in particular, were wonderful, helpful, and kind. The room was beautiful, a suite with a bathroom having both a separate tub and a gigantic shower. The poolside happy hour was fun because people loosen up (even more) and are very friendly. It's an oasis within Palm Springs.

Second time staying here and once again top knotch . Kudos to Kent for the wonderful updates before arriving and then the hospitality by him and staff was excellent . Everything was 5 star , the ambience, the beautifully decorated rooms , the impeccably clean grounds , the peace and all the nice guests . I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend this resort if you are seeking a quiet relaxing vacation.

Came over spring break. Booked through email with Kent and it was an extremely seamless experience. I've stayed at Santiago twice before and wanted to check out their sister property. Upon arrival it felt just like Santiago. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I didn't have to lift a finger. Our room was spotless and completely renovated. I think our room had the best in obstructed view too! Downside was much smaller and quant, and quite clientele. Hot tub only fits 4 guest comfortably. Outdoor shower lacking and seems unfinished. Construction was happening and creating clouds of dust for an hour or so. Make sure to grab some good seats by the pool if you want sun. With the earth rotating it's hard to get a seat in the sun. I wish they had snacks out in the cantina like Santiago, but they did keep the cookies stocked. Probably won't choose this location next time. Kent offered for us to get a tour of Twin Palms and they was definitely more my vibe in design, atmosphere and clientele. Robert was extremely kind and generous to give us a tour of Twin Palms.

After scrambling to finish preparing our house for termite tenting......and then driving a few hours on packed freeways out to Palm Springs......we were pretty frazzled when we first walked into Descanso. But after just a few minutes there, our stress literally melted away! The setting is positively magnificent. The gardens surrounding the pool are so tranquil. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and attractively furnished. The staff is welcoming and endlessly accommodating. All this......and complementary breakfast, lunch and snacks......so we could enjoy the whole day in this wonderful mecca without interruption. Yes, we'll definitely be back!!!

Descanso is stunning - lush garden landscape surrounding a perfectly sized pool for a sixteen room property. Poolside King room is very spacious and comfortable with luxury touches. Rates were a tremendous value inclusive of breakfast, lunch, and a stocked cantina available 24/7 - fresh coffee, soda, snacks. Kent and the team are exceptionally gracious and were always excited to see us. The other guests we met were also delightful. So many reasons to return!
