Totally charming and fascinating! Wonderful to explore this lovely small museum of artefacts from Rajasthani culture, including musical instruments and traditional clothing. The puppet show is the main attraction, shows at 6:30 and 7:30pm, running about 40 minutes, the 3 artists take great pride in showcasing Rajasthani culture with huge amounts of skill. The dholak and khartal players are brilliant! They should be on huge stages! And the puppeter, son of the man who created the museum, shares his skill with great passion and sensitivity. The puppets are sweet and funny, and the artists share about the meaning behind each performance (when I was there, in Hindi, English and French!).
Entrance fee is only 200r, and it is well worth it for a wonderful experience.
Bring some extra to tip the performers, as you will be entranced!
There is also a shop with many books (some written by the museum creator!) and souvenirs.
Thank you for such a beautiful heartfelt experience.
