Me and my family have stayed here twice for our Disneyland trips and it’s seriously the best. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable, and the price is great and reasonable. It’s not a far walk from Disneyland or downtown Disney. And the complimentary breakfast is good. Stays open from 6:30-10 am which is great. So overall the place is great and definitely coming back! Recommend staying here for your next Disneyland trip.

The property was so beautiful as usual! My family and I were so impressed by the courteousness of the staff (the housekeeping staff are so kind and sweet) and the General Manager, Mrs. Patel. We also also appreciated the amazingly close proximity to the Disneyland Parks. In addition, we loved the complimentary breakfast offering and were blown away from the beautiful dining area, views of the park and the fabulous outdoor seating patio (such a lovely add for guests). We were also highly impressed by the selection of breakfast items. My party and I arrived a lot earlier than expected, and the front desk staff were so kind as to allow us into our room early in addition to a late checkout. Overall, Desert Palms Hotel & Suites is an absolute gem in the Anaheim Resort area! We will definitely be back.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the course of last week. I would stay in this hotel again, but there's just a few things that just got under my skin. Parking is $30. That doesn't really get under my skin, I just never saw this information available anywhere beforehand, so maybe this will help someone. I personally like my room cool/cold. Well, they will only allow you to turn the A/C down to 69. I could live with that, but every time we leave - go spend a day out in the sun (Disney, universal, baseball game), room service would come and turn the A/C back to 78 degrees. EVERY SINGLE DAY - 78 degrees. Nothing like coming back to your hotel room expecting it to be cool and refreshing after walking 10 miles, and it being hot and dainty. Completely ridiculous, really. They only had 1 elevator working while we were there, which means taking the stairs a lot. Not a huge problem, but might be for some that are forced to take the elevator. If you can, be sure and ask for a room away from facing the street. The view isn't so bad, but there is a ton of traffic on this street, so a ton of people racing up and down it - just makes for short nights of restlessness, even if you bring a loud fan like me. The only other complaint I really had was hearing the people in the room above us. I don't think they were being wild, of course they had kids, but we could hear all their footsteps. They apparently got there 2 days after we did, because we only had to listen to feet running back and forth above us the last 2 days. Room was clean, bed was decent. Staff was super friendly. I have no complaints there. The parking lot was nice and safe as well. Easy to get in and out of. Overall - price is good. Breakfast is great. Location is as good as it gets without being a Disneyland resort. It was a 15 minute easy walk for us. I would stay here again, I would just have to try and work my way away from the street and hope the elevators are fixed.

Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking was great for my 12 passenger van. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The Camo Eats restroom services, options, and efficiency were all fantastic!!! The breakfast buffet was above average, but if you want to rope drop Disneyland be ready to rope drop the Buffett right at 6:30AM.

I'm so over this hotel, I could cry. First night, husband and kids are in the hot tub for 20 minutes with the jets on before chunks start flying out. They mentioned beetles so I went over to help them and either found a dead mouse or a large clump of hair with fleshy bits underneath. We told the front desk and they sent someone to scoop it out. AC is set to 69 but can't cool below 77 today. At night, I can hear water dripping in the walls and brush it off. The next morning, they're doing maintenance on the room next to us, replacing a pipe. It's now 8pm and I've returned to toilet water covering the bathroom floor. I called the front desk and maintenance sorted the issue. However, the fact that I have to go downstairs and get replacements for my toilet water towels because they can't bring them to me is just another small annoyance that's really added up here. Maintenance is great. Everyone else needs to get it together. Management is unresponsive to guest concerns.

The rooms were cery clean and are a good size. It had a small refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is a seven minute walk to the Disney front gate. It is a 7 minute walk to the Conference center. Very quiet. The breakfast was excellent, though it is up on the 5th floor. There is a weird layout with the two sets of elevators and which one goes to the second floor. Just make sure you get on the correct elevator. Parking is mostly underground with only one car per room with the typical fee. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The pool and hot tub were nice as well. You can hear the fireworks around 9pm each night. Overall, we would definitely stay there again if we were doing Disney or going to the conference center.

Disney is around the corner but it's still a pretty good hike to get there. The room was pretty typical for a nice, clean hotel. Food from room service was delicious and plentiful for the price. Staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful. Most people won't have the one issue that I had which is that I am 6'8" & 350lbs. Trying to use the toilet in the room was like sitting on a hole in the ground. There was only 1 assistance bar and it was in the shower. This toilet was so small and low that I feared it would break because I literally had to drop myself onto it in order to sit down! Getting back up was just as difficult. Fair warning to anyone whose above average size and needing to use these toilets!

For the price compared to a hotel in the same area, we are very satisfied with our stay. The rooms are clean. The employees were all nice and helpful. The location is perfect for Disneyland (~10 min walk). There is also an included breakfast which has some warm options like eggs and waffles as well as yoghurt, cereal, muffins,... We would stay there again for another Disney trip!

Yelp
Another great trip and great stay here. Our room was in pristine condition when we arrived. The staff throughout our trip was always Ute, friendly, and accommodating. Their complimentary breakfast buffet is always a major plus to get a quick bite in before Disney. They also have the ABSOLUTELY BEST salsa!!! Who would have thunk it ;-). Tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and a heat that builds quick (assuming jalapeño, but based on heat could be other pepper too). Sooooo if you aren't a fan of heat, try a small bit first haha. They have a cute lobby area with a kids movie area with books and a few toys. I like taking my son out there for at hotel meals. They also ha e a lobby infused water and tea/coffee area. They also have a small pool and jacuzzi. To top it all off, they have a single food spot Oasis that offers all sorts of foods - burgers, Mexican, salads, chicken, vegan, and more. This is also their room service. This is our 3rd stay here, and another wonderful stay.

Yelp
So close to Disneyland is always a plus. The parking was okay but we found some. Apparently people try to bring multiple cars which is not allowed. Those who are staying need a card to enter the lobby after a certain time and into their gift shop area. The room was so beautiful and simple. A clean bathroom, bedroom, and no bugs are what I look for in a hotel. The room smelled freshly cleaned. Breakfast is provided in the morning but make sure to get there early because the waffle machine is the highlight. Even with so many machines it was difficult to get to get a waffle quickly.

Yelp
If you're staying here to go Disneyland on the day you check out, don't stay here! We booked one night so we could walk to Disneyland in the morning with our two little ones and avoid the Disney parking lot/shuttle. When we checked in, the front desk said we would need to move our car by noon unless we called in the morning to request a parking extension. We called at 6:45am and they said they would not extend! So we paid $28 to not be able to park at the hotel for even 24 hours? You'd tow a paying hotel guest? Why would we be done at Disneyland at noon?! My husband dropped us off and had to park at Disneyland parking and deal with shuttle and he missed the first hour in the park plus we had to risk all of our belongings in the car at Disneyland. Didn't enjoy the free breakfast, instead were dealing with parking challenges! Won't stay here again.

Yelp
Our family stayed here over Christmas week (along with some friends of ours who also were staying at the hotel). It was a good home base for visiting Disneyland. The rooms are clearly setup for families -- our kids had a bunk bed in their own room, and my partner and I enjoyed a comfortable bed in the front room. The hotel has a nice open lobby. Staff were friendly. You can walk from here to Disneyland easily. We even came home one day and ordered doordash for lunch, and then went back to the park. We took an uber from LAX (that's the way to go!), but upon departing the hotel we wanted to rent a car to go elsewhere in California. I was able to just rent a car from the Hertz which is down the road (walking distance). Breakfast was fine -- about what you'd expect from a budget family hotel. Lots of options, a bit of pandemonium, etc. But I appreciated that there was a nice large outdoor seating area on the roof adjacent to the breakfast serving area, which seemed like much less of a madhouse (and, of course... this is California... sitting outside at breakfast was quite comfortable!).

Yelp
Terrible stay! WILL NOT RETURN! Not enough parking for guests, found previous guests underwear in room, AC does not cool quickly, remote not working, cockroach in bathroom on last day!

For W.

Yelp
La Cucarachas! Killed a 2 inch cockroach running on the floor. By looking at other reviews, OBVIOUSLY, this wasn't a rare occurrence! Ruined our entire night as we immediately packed up and had our money refunded. YUCK! Front desk person seemed surprised that we wouldn't just let the maintenence man spray pesticides in the room, and continue our stay. SMH...

Yelp
This is a great location for a hotel if you're going to be going to Disneyland. The homeless population does gather very close to this area (no fault of the hotel, but still it can be a problem) so be prepared to be asked for money on your walk to the park. We did have some issues with our television but they sent up someone within 30 minutes each time. The room was clean and had a cute little towel animal on the bed. My kids enjoyed their small pool. They also have free breakfast. My kids loved the waffles. I do low carb and wished they'd have just plain half and half for the coffee but all of their creamers were sweetened. Overall, good price for the location and it was an easy stay.

Yelp
I have mixed feeling, as love the conviene of getting close to convention center and walking distance. but the internet was not GOOD at all. As business women" we never know when to stop and work while at the hotel. Enjoyed the water and coffee machine in the lobby. We got the room closest to the street so it was a little noisy, the shower could be upgraded to more water pressure , another trash can as the set up of room was odd. We liked the products as I can be very delicate with fragrances. We didn't have to ask for towels , well stocked and cleaned. Liked that offer breakfast but maybe switch from every day sausage to bacon. Enjoyed little waffles and yogurt. Was not a fan of scrambled eggs, cheese omelet was ok.

Yelp
I know some of the last reviewers had some negative experiences but when asked if they rectified the situation prior to booking they reported yes. Well I'm proud to report that it was super clean and staff was observed constantly cleaning the interior and exterior parts of the hotel. The front staff from beginning to end were all pleasant and attentive. The breakfast as your typical breakfast options with a huge hall and outdoor seating. They have a food cafe with reasonable prices generous size portions. The rooms were spacious and clean once again. They came around everyday to take the trash out as well providing new towels. All in all, it was a great stay. I would def recommend! Oh and they provided fresh cold water pitchers in the lobby.

Yelp
Just want to give Karina and the front desk kudos. What a great way to start the trip. Eveything about the stay was great from AC to Bed to Hot Hot water. Highly recommend (especially for the price)

Yelp
DO NOT AND MEAN DONT STAY " IT'S NOT SAFE " The maintenance men are allowed to walk in on you as a female . In any of the public restrooms there. They will walk into the female bathroom regardless of their gender then they will follow you around to your room asking all kind of personal private questions like what is your name, room number even after stating you belong there they will then interrogat you further and follow you around. This happened to my sixteen year old daughter when she was alone in the bathroom. Henry the maintenance man then wouldn't answer us as paying guest why he felt it appropriate to walk in or question my CHILD. They also claimed there is no manager on the weekend so if there is a emergency they could careless to be bothered...After the event the rest of the staff was RUDE and Giving us Dirty looks and snares. YOUR Safety is at RISK staying THERE

Yelp
We had planned a family vacation to disney and stayed at Desert Palms for 4 days. It was all going fine until we came back to the room to see some sort of vacuum outside our wall. The hotel hadn't said anything to us so we assumed it was nothing and went about our day. The next morning, they told us they found "possible" black mold in our hotel room and relocated us to an upgraded room. My little brother spent his last Disney day in the room throwing up. My whole family felt shitty for the remainder of the trip. Although I appreciate the upgrade, I really don't understand how they let us stay in the room if there was any sort of suspicion. We heard the staff talking about how they can't put anybody in that room anymore. Damn right!

Yelp
1/22/2024 Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! I booked originally at there sister property del sol. They were over booked so they sent me to palm desert. This hotel was extremely filthy! Homeless flooded the streets right outside the hotel, hallways smelled like cigarettes, and to top everything off they have a huge bug infestation!!!!!! Extremely disgusting! I wouldn't feel safe or comfortable staying there ever again especially with kids. Here is a photo of a huge cockroach found in my room

Yelp
This place was a great location and staff was very sweet. They even have fun games for kiddos to do in the lobby. Rooms need upgrades, paint, sheets, shower and dresser were all old. Air didn't work as good. Only sheets on the bed and pillows were flat. Again place of hotel and everything else was great. Whatever you do please do not eat at the diner thing attached. Way over priced and disgusting.

Yelp
Desert Palms Hotel and Suites 631 W Katella Ave, Anaheim, California 92802 The rooms: Clean No bad smell Comfortable mattress Relative quiet Nice staff Disney movies and scavenger hunt for the kids in the lobby Good lighting for make up application Thinks that could use work: The elevator system was strange The elevator slow and somewhat questionable The water pressure Perks: Free buffet breakfast as of 2023 A pool 7 minutes walk to Disney Across the street from cvs and Walgreens Down the street from Cheesecake Factory Clean, modern, gender, neutral bathrooms in lobby that require a key Small restaurant attached Downside: no real view Overall: 7 out of 10 would stay again for quick trip This was a solid option. Room is best max of 4 people.typical California hotel room size. Not a bad price for location. Would recommend.

Yelp
Went to Disneyland 6/5/2022 and needed to get a room for two nights , so when I came across a deal for the desert palms hotel and suites (two nights total with tax $337) we thought we would give it a try. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place . The walk to Disneyland isn't bad at all it's about 10 minutes maybe 12 at the max but there is one light you have to cross at that can be a bit of a wait if you don't hit it just right. I originally reserved a deluxe two queen room but once we got there and in the room they had given us the bigger suite room that had two queen beds and a pull out couch bed . Now the room is pretty big (463 sq foot) but the area were the couch is , if you pull the bed out it would be hard for two adults if one needed to use the bathroom at night to get around the bed . Definitely would put at least one person done there, plus the pull out is pretty low to the ground with a thin mattress/mat . But overall I loved the fact that it had a table for 4 and had separate areas ( which there is a curtain that can separate the rooms) which is nice if you need a little one that has to take a nap and the others want to watch tv . The rooms do have carpet but overall everything was really clean ! Parking for this hotel is $22 a night plus tax, we paid $51.48 for two nights of parking Free breakfast!!! Kind of excited about that , we normally stay at a place that doesn't have that and I have to bring everything! I know covid has changed a lot of the hotels free breakfast but you can tell this one is still slowly coming back but not as much as it used to be but honestly we are aren't that picky. This breakfast one morning had donuts, egg fold with cheese, sausage patty, a variety of cereal , cottage cheese, yogurt, sliced oranges, fruit cocktail, milk, coffee, juice (orange, apple, cranberry), waffle station ( they had at least three or more irons), toast and English muffins. The next day for hot food they had scrambled eggs with sausage chunks, biscuits, gravy and this time muffins. It was edible . Breakfast is served from 6:30am-10 am and is located on the 5th floor, plus the had really nice outdoor seating with a great view. First impressions of this hotel was the lobby was nice and really big from others I've seen. They had a little room office to the side of check in that had two computers and printers for guests to use. They also have a place called the oasis kitchen and bar that had indoor and outdoor seating. It was kind of cool it's different food from different places you can order from ranging from burgers to Mediterranean food . There is a QR code in you room and you can order to your room or just pop done stairs to pick it up. I did like the fact the lobby locks the door after 10pm and you need your key to get in . They also have a store in the lobby that's small but has all kinds of drinks, food and items we forget lol. No prices were on things but what was cool is you use your key to get into the store and then you can download an app or go to a pad and scan everything and just pay for it . So anytime you need something it's quick and easy. We didn't use the pool this trip, but you can see it right off the lobby it's in the middle of the building. Which is kind of cool cause then there really is not sun straight on the pool . It isn't every big , yet still decent and they do have a hot tub. They also offer three gender neutral bathrooms right by the pool so if you need to change or use the bathroom it's close. Since this was a quick trip we didn't use the gym either, but from what I saw it's not very big but adequate. It's located in the lobby area Also to add is about noise, now one I am not picky about this. I have kids but I make sure they are respectful of others . Yet, this was the first hotel that was an open to the outdoors or just only having a few rooms by each other. I will say I didn't hear more than I have at others but it wasn't like crazy or anything.

Yelp
Back before this disaster of quarantine started, I had the privilege of going to Disneyland to celebrate another trip around the sun. I had such a great experience the other two times that I stayed here that I decided to book again for the third time. This review is for the most recent stay in February of 2020. I booked ahead of time knowing I would be taking my disabled mother so I requested in the notes/additional that I would appreciate a room on the bottom floor since she can't walk long distances. Not only did they give us a room on the first floor but they completely upgraded us to a two bedroom suite at no extra charge. It was a complete surprise walking into our room and a great birthday gift from the Lord. Our stay was enjoyable and beds were super cozy. The breakfast buffet is okay but nothing to look forward to. It had tons of offerings but none of us are breakfast people especially super early, so we opted for coffee and toast. It gets packed early so you might want to pass if you're running late. All in all I would definitely stay here again. Especially because it's so close to the Disneyland Resort. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the front gate saving you money on parking.

Jomailyn B.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week with my family. The hallways and elevator once heading up are very humid and warm. The bedrooms were very warm as well. Humidity attracts bugs. We let the front desk know the very moment we got up to our room to check everything. It was not addressed the whole time we were there. On the very last night, a cockroach appeared, and was crawling all over our walls. This could've all been avoided if they would've just addressed the temperature in the entire hotel. if you want peace of mind, do not stay at this hotel, it's not worth risking, taking home, one of these cockroaches and having your whole house infested.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years now. This is our go to every time we go to Disneyland and it's only 15-20 min walk (depending on how fast/slow you walk). The staff is super friendly and always so helpful and accommodating. We have never had any issues, except once where we had to ask for our trash to be emptied, but other than that we always get top-notch service. Breakfast is complementary and it may not be what everyone likes because I've seen people complain we have no complaints about it.

Yelp
Would I stay at the Desert Palms Hotel again for my next visit to Disneyland? Yesss!! Most definitely!! I highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a budget friendly property that offers a gym, breakfast buffet (mickey waffles), swimming pool. It was all about convenience for me to be honest. 7-11, CVS, and Walgreens is just walking distance (literally across the street) if you need bottle water, snack etc.. My daughter forgot her swimsuit and really wanted to swim in the pool so we went to CVS and they had everything!! Our hotel room was located on the 4th floor. We didn't have any noise issues with kids stomping or running above us . Overall the bathroom was really clean (bathtub, toilet, sink) We will be back just because my kids really enjoy sleeping in their bunkbeds. HAHAHA

Yelp
This place is the perfect place for those who want to stay close to Disneyland! The staff was super friendly and accommodating! The rooms were beautiful! I was upgraded so I had a mini kitchen, a fridge and other great amenities. It was super clean! It was a 10 min walk to Disneyland. I will def come here again!

Yelp
We stayed here for a while week to go to Disneyland here are my personal Pros and Cons: Pro: Walking distance to Disney Parks. Cons: Pretty much everything else. They don't have actual room service anymore they just take out trash and replace towels on the floor, vacuum if requested. Seems to me their using this whole Covid thing as an excuse. When families are on vacation the only thing a mom wants is for someone to please help her out and at the very least make the bed, well that doesn't happen here. The breakfast is horrible!! Literally nothing was edible! The sheets make all sorts of noise while sleeping. That's if you can sleep in the super uncomfortable beds. The noise from the street is super loud. I don't know what other hotels are like here near Disney but if you can book somewhere else I would!

NiceBoysWin ..

Yelp
Came in here with a group of friends and needed to use the restroom immediately, but the front desk was busy. Before I knew it, I was being followed and even got security called on me. Hmmm. I took a look around and I guess it's because I'm a tad bit too dark for their target demographic, not to mention I have tattoos, a shaved head, and a flannel shirt on. They have signs spread around the property about their surveillance cameras and they apparently use it as a way to profile and ward off people of color, even if they're potential customers who happen to be in need to relieve themselves. Hard pass.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend this place to someone with a weak immune system or someone who is super picky about their hotel stay. We booked a room for my moms birthday to go to Disneyland the next day. The third floor was where our room was located. When my wife and I got out of the elevator, an intense smell of urine and coffee filled our noses. I'm not the one to get grossed out easily but this was very very strong. The next morning the smell was mostly gone and I'm not sure what caused the smell but man! There were three ladies working the front desk and were super respectable. They handled any question with assertiveness and a genuine smile. All around, I think someone within upper management should try to resort this simple problem and it would make the stay a bit more comfortable. Perhaps new carpets? Might be time. Investing in this simple expense will make up for the demolition days where one floor at a time is closed off, since it will be a much nicer place.
google avatar

Malorie S.

Yelp
Great location with clean rooms. Short walk to Disneyland entrance and Downtown Disney. Rooms are spacious for a family. They serve a nice breakfast with lots of options. Deducted one star for not very helpful front desk staff. Overall a good value. Parking is limited.

Yelp
This hotel is in the perfect location to Disneyland. We didn't spend extra to get off the street and ended up with a light shining directly into our room - that was awful. Otherwise the hotel is good considering it's competitive price!

Alexes R.

Yelp
I don't even know what to say. Our room had termites in it. I have never ever experienced this in a hotel before. I've stayed in cheaper hotels and not have had an experience like this before. Disappointing because this was a 4days of us on vacation in Disneyland for my son's first birthday. I felt sick for days after that we had spent 3 full days in a room infested with termites. We literally were sleeping with them. Took us 3 hours out of our day to change rooms once I realized there was something wrong and brought it to the hotels attention. They of course moved us but still. We had to replace all of our bathroom stuff by going to target because there was bugs on all our stuff on top of wasting our vacation time moving rooms it just was horrific. The time we spend to replace our stuff and move rooms we can never get back. Our personal belongings had just been in a room with bugs who knows what else those things were on or laying eggs on my sons bottles I mean who knows. It was just an awful experience and don't recommend this hotel to anyone to have to go through what we did.

Yelp
Hotel is close to park is the only positive thing o can think of. The front desk staff is rude. Like next level rude. Her name started was IZ some tiny. She covered her name badge with her hair.

Yelp
We really wanted to love this place. Our regular hotel near Disneyland is under renovation so we had to find a substitute. Pros -The staff was very friendly and helpful -The hotel looked clean. -The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable -The price was OK and the proximity to Disneyland was fine -Their Covid protocols seemed fine initially. There were hand sanitizers set up by the elevators. -The rooms are good size and there's plenty of hot water. Cons -Their Covid protocols were nonexistent in the breakfast area. There were no hand sanitizers or wipes or gloves for that matter to be found anywhere. The staff, although diligently wiping all the counters on a consistent basis, seemed unaware that there were no hand sanitizers anywhere and didn't know where to get them. Mind you this is a buffet. We are all grabbing the same handles to scoop our eggs and our gravy. We are also digging around the bins with plastic utensils. And this is a gathering place for families. The fact that the lack of hand sanitizers didn't even occur to the staff in this area tells me that perhaps training is lacking. The manager or whoever is setting up the area on a daily basis should be thinking about the safety and health of the guests first and foremost...especially during a pandemic! I called the front desk and they offered to bring hand sanitizer, gloves, and wipes to my room which I declined. I stressed that this needs to be provided in the breakfast area. They said they will talk to the breakfast manager about it. How this got overlooked is unimaginable to me. -Also it's unbelievable to me that people get in to the elevator maskless. I've seen families come off an elevator and none of them wearing masks. I understand that they are comfortable with each other and that's fine but consider this. What if somebody walked onto that elevator with no mask and had Covid? How would they feel about masks in elevators then? Perhaps some signage in the elevators to remind people to wear masks while riding them would be appropriate. I know there will still be some knuckleheads who will not be wearing masks but at least the hotel can rest assured that they tried. -$16 A night to park your car? Really? $35 plus tax for early check in? Really? So bottom line I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel during the pandemic. During non-pandemic times I think I certainly would recommend it. But they really need to step up their safety protocols for their guests. UPDATE The next morning after I complained, there was a hand sanitizer up in the breakfast area. Thank you. However, as I was literally typing this housekeeping came to our door to give us some supplies, WITHOUT A MASK. Something as simple as a mask can go a long way to provide comfort to guests. Some guests won't care either way. So, I stand at 3 stars.

Yelp
First time staying at Desert Palms. Other reviews seemed to be all over the place so I prepared myself that there might be a good chance i'd be unhappy with aspects of my stay. We arrived early(before 7am after a red eye) and were offered early checkin for an extra fee for an accessible room. We took it! This allowed a quick power nap before starting our day. The room was comfortable, clean, modern - not dated furnishings, carpet, decor etc. The bathroom was fine, included a tub and i guess due to accessibility was quite large - we only missed a bit if counter space and hook behind the bathroom door. Again, due to accessibility, we were neat an elevator Which was convenuent but noisy when at the peak times of family coming and going but it really wasnt an issue - we were there for Disney too and once those peaks passed, it was quiet. Our AC was awesome. Some reviews noted temp issues - we had none. Yes, they Still werent doing daily housekeeping but they did remove trash each day. We did not go to the free breakfast during our stay. All in all, great stay! Location is tops - about 15 minute walk, maybe just a tad over a half mile to Disney Main Gate. Alamo Rental Car is two does down so if you want to take a break from the parks and venture out, Its a super convenient location. Thank you, Desert Palms for a great stay - would book again!

Yelp
The Desert Palms is a great no-frills hotel near Disneyland. Takes about 15 minutes to get to the entrance of the park from here, so its location is sound. Really dig the underground parking, and the breakfast buffet's got a waffle maker and donuts - sweet. Pool's a bit of a mess with the broken jets and crazy kids, but that comes with the territory. For the price, it comes recommended.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about my latest Disneyland trip hotel pick. TL;DR - I would use again if the price was right. And bring blackout eye mask to sleep better. Our first time at Desert Palms Hotel and Suites Anaheim. Great location - Same block as Disneyland. Only 1 crosswalk to get to the main entrance. Plus directly across the street from a really nice CVS if you need any supplies without driving. Parking - Expensive at $22/night (I include this in my total price consideration.) Very limited parking space. Plenty of luggage carts to use but we didn't end up using one this time. Internet - The worst I have ever experienced at any Anaheim hotel. I connected to my home VPN to RDP a home computer and the lag made it near impossible to use. Even without VPN the local browsing is only fast enough for basic email. Browsing with any amount of photos was painfully slow and forget any video. They clearly want to force people to pay extra for "high speed" internet. So plan to use your cell phone hotspot if you need to use a tablet or laptop for more than email. Breakfast - Included and a pretty good buffet spread. Not as good as pre-pandemic hotel buffets still. If you don't have any food alergies or restrictions, then pretty easy to fill up. 6a-10a. Great view on the 5th floor with indoor and outdoor seating. Sleeping - While I found the beds comfortable and the AC works well with just the right amount of white noise sound levels, the rooms use shutter blinds with no blackout curtains. And our room was South facing to the main road front of the hotel So we get the street lights and outdoor wall washer lighting all night long leaking through. And then early morning sun. I need extreme darkness to sleep well so it was not great. Also, many young families were staying there and getting up early for rope drop openings of the park. So a lot of nearby hallway and room noise starting as early as 5:30a. So sleeping til 8-9am was basicaly impossible. Hard for people who want to close the park each night and getting to bed at 12a-1a. Bathroom - Overall good bathroom with large countertop space inside the bathroom. While enough light, the mirror is lit and then no above light. I would have liked an above light as well. Shower/tub - Combo as usual in non ADA room. The tub seemed much narrower than typical by maybe 3 inches. Anaheim water pressure is always low so the small shower head was still low pressure. Nothing much to say. Clean and worked. Toilet - Is not comfort height in the non ADA rooms. And they put the toilet paper behind you when they clearly could have mounted the holder on the cabinet near you. So we just used the spare roll the whole time on the shelve next to you. Room - Abundant additional lights and outlets everywhere. So that was really nice. Also a great size mini frige that was cold. And a microwave. Desk - good desk with outlets. Great for work or makeup space. Nearby luggage bench of the same tabletop material that is great to use as a low table top. TV - Didn't turn on the TV the whole time. But I would expect the same youth-centric programming as all the other nearby hotels. Cleanliness - Excellent. Issues - Single room phone didn't work. Which I only found out because I tried to call the front desk about the high pitch fan noise from the bathroom motion detection vent fan. They corrected both while we were out. The hotel has 2 building segments that are only shared on the first floor and 1 of the stairwells. So we were on the 2nd floor (of 4) of the segment that is not part of the 5 story segment that has breakfast on the 5th floor. So you either need to use the elevator to go down to the 1st floor and then the other elevator to go up to the 5th floor. Or use the shared stairwell to walk up to the 5th floor directly. The elevators are not far from each other so not a big issue but awkward. The 4 story segment only has 1 elevator when the 5 story segment has 2. And the single elevator needs serious repair. I made sure I had my phone on me at all times as I honestly thought it might break during our stay. The door has major issues opening and closing and the up/down felt wrong as well. Pool/spa - We didn't use. It is internal (open to the sky) and it looked extremely nice both day and night. I really wish hotels would allow the pool/spa to be open past 10pm. Lobby - Huge and pretty. Lots of places to sit and relax. Small shop inside as well.

Yelp
This is an updated review from my most recent trip to Disneyland in September. Scoring is still the same, but I would say for different reasons. Check in staff was not friendly at all, almost to the point of rude. Room was on the first floor which was good and bad. Good in the sense that we didn't have to wait for elevators or walk very far. Bad in that window was next the outdoor parking lot when people are really noisy and had someone knock on the window at night which scared the hell out of us. Parking is kinda a nightmare. When we arrived at 830p we got lucky and found the only available spot in the underground garage. I don't know where I would have parked otherwise. They do offer breakfast each day which isn't bad at all. As well as my favorite thing is the closeness to the park! You can't beat it!

Yelp
Fabulous place to stay for a family-friendly Disney vacation. The bunk bed room was so fun for the kids. The beds were comfy, room was clean, nice hot water, and ice cold AC. The free buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day. Short walk to Disneyland. Highly recommend.

Yelp
It was ok. Pool was pretty pathetic. Think there are other options for the same price.

Yelp
This hotel is literally just for sleeping. As I lay here after paying $800 for 3 nights with nothing to do due to the fact that the tv only has 18 channels none that I'm familiar with and slim to none internet service WITH the Wi-Fi they provide. The tv gives you the option to cast your phone to the tv but how am I suppose to do that with NO INTERNET SERVICE!!!.... Can't watch any apps on my phone the only thing I was about to do was get little service to write this review and since I'll be here 2 more days I'll take this time to write reviews on why the $800 + $60 (for parking) was totally NOT worth it

Yelp
Spent 9 nights here and I have to say, the hotel is nice and close to Disneyland but I'm disappointed in their description of the room we stayed in. I stayed in their 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. My mistake was not looking at the floor plan. There is no privacy for the front room with 2 queen beds. Example, if you are 2 families and your room is in the back you have to walk through the first so call bedroom to enter your room in the back. Sorry, to me a 2 bedroom suite should be 2 private bedrooms each with their own entrance into that bedroom, this is not and very misleading. When you walk into the suite, you're entering the first bedroom with no privacy. 2 bedroom 2 bath, no way.

Yelp
We booked two nights at the desert palms for June 2022 in February of 2022. When we attempted to modify our stay to add another night not only would they not revise our reservation but when we attempted to cancel we were informed that there was a no cancellation policy so we are out 1500.00. Though it close to the park they are very strict and unyielding.

Yelp
We stayed here in early June, so COVID tier restrictions were still in place. That meant that we didn't get maid service (other than garbage removal) or regular breakfast (they had some baggies with food to take, but it wasn't great), but that was no different than any other hotel. This place is really close to Disneyland and it was an easy walk to the park. Desert Palms gets five stars for me because of the bedroom arrangement. I booked a suite with a king bed and bunk beds for the kids, and it was perfect. Everything was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a sliding door we could shut between our rooms so we could put the kids to bed and enjoy some privacy. The one downside is that the door and the wall between rooms both have frosted glass windows, which means if your kids need the room to be dark to fall asleep you have to turn out all the lights in both rooms and sneak around a bit until they fall asleep. That said, everything else was great. The hotel was obviously at very low capacity and it felt like we were staying there by ourselves. The front desk folks were very nice and immediately gave me extra towels and soap when I asked. Other staff around the hotel were also very kind and friendly. The only reason we stayed here was because the Disneyland Hotel wasn't open yet, but honestly next time we visit I might actually choose Desert Palms instead!

Yelp
Booked this hotel since a friend found a decent price, it's walking distance from Disneyland, and free hot breakfast! Dream come true right?? WRONG!! this is NOT a good option if you are a SoCal resident looking to spend 2 days @ Disney & only 1 night, or for ANYONE planning to play at the park the day they check-out. 1st off they charge for early check-in, so if you drive out & arrive early morning- you have to wait and leave the park to check-in in the afternoon, or do it when you return from the park & are exhausted & barely able to move. We were on a tight budget so we opted for the latter option. ( when you arrive in the morning be sure to have them give you a parking pass or they will tow your car!!) After a full day of disney we returned to the hotel to grab our bags & check-in. This was seamlessly painless & we were excited for the complimentary snacks they had at the counter since we had missed dinner. However, hubby did have to go back to the car to get our license plate # so they wouldn't tow our car. After lugging our stuff to our room- we quickly noticed there was only 1 king bed rather that the 2 queens we had reserved. So kids & I sat on the bedroom floor eating snacks ( as not to disturb the room) while hubby went back down to sort it out. Due to the mistake they upgraded our room to the one with a kids bunk bed- so I decided to take the "blessing in disguise" approach to this little mishap. The room was nice however they did not provide any hand soap for the sink- so you l have to use the face soap in the bathroom, and the body soap in the shower, and use the soap people rub their dirty hands on for your face. Also I almost forgot! When checking in at midnight- they have you sign a paper that highlights that you have to move your car at noon the next day!! So basically if you were planning to wake up, check out , and walk over to the park for some family fun ( which was the whole reason you chose this location)- think again!! You now have to find a place to pay to park you car! SURPRISE!! Again we were on a tight budget, & I had not planned for this!! I decided to not worry about it until the next morning, and have faith that the front desk would be accommodating since this was not made clear at the time of booking, and I had just been laid off the week before (hence the tight budget). I was told they didn't have the space, & the lady suggested downtown Disney parking would validate for free parking if we made a purchase. This was outdated info... thank goodness I googled it as we were driving over there or we would have have to pay $10, waist our time trying find something to buy, only to have them validate the next 3 hours! After that it goes up to $66 max which is more that double the daily rate of the normal Disney parking!! This added a lot of added stress to our morning as we were trying to figure out how to get to the Disney parking on the fly while exhausted & frustrated. Kids whining that they want to be there & refuse to get in the car, we as parents getting flustered, This was not the magic morning I was expecting... we finally got there, much later than if we had been able to walk over as planned, already feeling defeated. So would I recommend this hotel? NOPE! *Also 1 car per room Breakfast was okay... but if you expect to go before the park opens I'd recommend getting there right at 6:30- I went at 7:30 to scope it out & it was a zoo with lines of people trying to make their waffles.. they have a beautiful glass apothecary gar full of fresh fruit to lure you in- I went to grab one & the lid was taped shut- SORRY folks, you get the canned fruit cocktail! All the quick options were meh, plain cereal& oatmeal- but no nice toppings/fruit to add. Full menu was as follows: -scrambled eggs -sausage disks - yogurt (scoop yourself) -canned fruit cocktail -cottage cheese - 2 flavors of bland cereal - plain oatmeal - juice dispenser (apple, orange, cranberry cocktail) - milk -syrup -toast & bagels? ( not sure cream cheese situation) - waffle station- I think there were 4- 6 of these? But they only make 4 mini round waffles per 2 minute cooking period, so factor that in when calculating the number of people in your party & how much they eat. It was just me & my 6 & 9 year old - we did 2 batches- they each ate 3 & I had the remaining 2. Teenagers could easily eat 8 each! I decided to go back to bed & come back later... it was less crowded after 9 but then you get to the park late... all in all kids were happy with the food- but if you want to go before the park opens be prepared...

Yelp
The service was good, they were a little busy I'm sure because of the new year. I asked one of the staff questions about the dining and amenities but he was new and said he didn't know. I also asked a maid where the vending machines were to buy a soda but she didn't understand what I was saying. The hotels were large and clean. They had a complimentary breakfast for all Guests. The pool was nice for the kids. They give you a lot of towels, the tv Channels were decent. The staff at the bar were super nice. I like this place a lot. A little pricey but it's worth it.

Yelp
This hotel had wonderful reviews on hotels.com and Google. I booked it due to the size of the room and good prices and great reviews. The room itself is awesome, we got a suite with a kitchenette and loving area and a bedroom with 2 queen beds for about $600/2 nights. That being said, the beds themselves along with the pillows have to be THE WORST quality, most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. My husband and I both woke up to stiff necks. You may as well be sleeping on a pool float, that's the noise it makes when you move. Will never stay again based on that alone.

Yelp
Four stars for the cleanliness and the size of the rooms. Three stars for the staff. And two stars for the pick up breakfast at the front desk.

Yelp
We always try and stay different places while going to Disneyland and looking for the next good hotel. I had heard good things from a friend about his place and thought for the price why not try it. Pros: the staff was great! They were very helpful and always nice for the 5 days we were there. The pool was great (a little small) always fresh towels at the pool, the room service staff was fast and good, beds (which are always a big deal) were very comfortable. Room service was on it and kept the rooms clean. We had a suit and the room was very roomy for the 2 adults, teenager and 2 kids. The fact the sofa, table and TV are away from the beds are extremely nice and a privacy curtain for the kids to make them feel like they are in a different room. Close to the park and they have FREE breakfast! Always fun making waffles with the kids in the morning. Cons: I have to agree with other post. Parking is a little tricky, but not bad "It's free" !!! The store in the hotel has some weird hours and the staff is a little rude. They are not connected to the hotel m, so you cannot charge to your room (which is weird). They express they have a kids check in and picture areas. The check in is a paper kids write there name it (kind of a let down). The picture at the front desk sounded cool, until you never get your pictures, this was a let down for my kids. I think the biggest turn off of when at the picture stand there are workers with a table and wheel, thinking it's for kids NO. It's to lure parents into a timeshare presentation for a free Disney gift card! Really!! The walls are thin so you hear kids running, leaving for the park and especially when the house keeping staff is working (that was probably the worst part). I would still give it another go around and stay again.

Yelp
Really nice hotel very very close to Disneyland, just one crosswalk away to the park. We've stayed at a few different hotels when visiting Disneyland and I have to say this is my 2nd favorite hotel. Also very close to pharmacy's, restaurants, convenience stores, Starbucks everything is just a crosswalk away. Free WiFi, parking, breakfast. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping did a great job everyday doing our room and didn't bother us really early trying to clean like other hotels. The suites have all you need; mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker.. I thought beds were comfortable and room was a good size. We had the deluxe suite with a separate bedroom, bunk beds and sofa bed in the next room just perfect for our family of 6! This hotel has a nice small pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good variety and taste wise; I mean it's free we don't expect a full breakfast menu. It was good and had decent variety of food to get our day started. But for being a free breakfast is one of the best we've had. Took off a star because .... 1- the fridge for some reason was pretty noisy idk something was up with it. 2- the AC/heater was pretty loud. 3- while being right across from the breakfast area was convenient it also woke us up pretty early with all the chatter noise right outside. However I'd most definitely stay here again and again. We were very happy with the stay, staff and closeness to the park.

Yelp
Only good thing is that it's close to Disney they don't have room service only give you towels and take out the trashstayed here for a couple of days and when I go on vacation I don't want to have to do the beds and clean the room when they have people that can do it for you

Yelp
We had a king room with a set of full size bunk beds. Room was very nice and comfortable. Their service was friendly and they served hot breakfast (sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast and mini Belgium waffles) yum! We stayed here while we visited Disneyland which was only a 8 min walk. Super convenient especially next to 7-11 and Walgreens and CVS. Only downfall is room walls were thin so you could hear the next rooms showering. Would definitely stay here again!!

Yelp
Upon arriving at noon, we were told our room was currently being cleaned and would be ready soon. We came back at 3:30 and our room still wasn't available. I asked to speak to a manager, but apparently managers aren't on duty over the weekend. Seems strange. The girl at the desk finally gives me out room keys. 6 of us and 2 luggage carts make it onto the elevator. No 2nd floor. Weird. Go back down. Would have been nice if the girl at the front desk told us we had to use a different elevator to get to the 2nd floor. Traveling all night I would have liked a nap, but it's been 4 hours of listening to kids screaming in the pool. Woke up at midnight to people above us sounding like they were literally jumping off the beds. Lasted about 2 hours. Paper thin walls and windows. No sleep. Horrible customer service. Breakfast was horrible. Might be budget friendly but definitely not a good hotel if you want to relax midday or sleep at night.
