I have stayed here twice this year, a couple of days in April, and again during the summer now in June. This Inn is beautifully kept. Very clean and the window shades are landscapes from sedona which is such a nice touch. The rooms are spacious and well done. I believe it's family owned because the same person checked me in both stays, and he seems to truly care about the property and the guests, always checking on everything. My favorite part is you can walk to a few restaurants that are across the street, and if you walk out the back path, you can walk right into a grocery store. You have everything you need, and Sedona is only a short drive into town.

We were very happy to be in Oak Creek, quieter and less expensive than tourist central in Sedona. The motel has a walkthrough to an excellent breakfast spot and a large supermarket, with plenty of trail/picnic provisions. |Handy to the gorgeous trails and sites all around. ||The real reason for the five star review is the very conscientious family that owns the place and really puts out extra effort to provide for your needs. They were super helpful to us in a complicated situation and we would go back there in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

We absolutely love the Desert Quail Inn. It has exceptionally clean rooms, very friendly staff and a very clean pool area. I was traveling with my 84 yr. old mom and needed 2 beds on ground level. The gentleman I spoke with was very accommodating and gave a room with a walk in shower and two beds. As we were packing up to leave he came over and asked how our stay was and could he do anything to help. They are so kind and caring there. The location is great as well. Not in the hustle of Sedona but close enough. Lots of great restaurants close by. This is definitely our go to for our Sedona excursions. Kathy S.

Very nice hotel. Always extremely clean. The rooms are spacious and very attractive and comfortable. Management and staff always take good care of us. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Also a very nice grocery/liquor store right next door. We travel to Sedona every couple of years, and always stay at the Desert Quail.

I love staying here! The village is less busy than Sedona, and this hotel is next door to a great brunch cafe and a great coffee shop. There's a great grocery store just behind it too (lots of gluten free groceries for those who need it). I am a big fan of the rooms with both a fireplace and a whirlpool tub - you can't get that anywhere else for the price. The room is always clean, plenty of hot water, comfy bed. For those who like to know what to pack, they have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and bar soap, a little coffee maker (drip), and microwave and mini fridge.

Google
The Desert Quail Inn is a quiet, clean, no-frills, comfortable hotel in Sedona, just off the main area - with a lot of great views on the quick drive from town. The room was larger than expected, had a ceiling fan that really helped with Sedona's heat, and it was nicely cleaned and maintained. The Tlaquepaque arts & shopping village is pretty nearby on the way into the main area and a great place to walk around and see some great art. The staff at the Desert Quail Inn were nice and helpful with offering site and restaurant suggestions. Overall we had a wonderful, quiet and comfortable stay - we'd love to come back! Thanks!

Really enjoyed this as a base for exploring Sedona. Had stayed here about 5 years earlier and was very happy that its still my go to place for Sedona. Basic motor hotel, but very clean with friendly staff. The location makes all the difference. Can get to Bell Rock before anyone else is even up and right up the street you can see beautiful sunsets. Also, the Red Rock Cafe just behind the outdoor pool makes incredible breakfasts.

Desert Quail Hotel - A Relaxing Stay with Room for Improvement We had an overall enjoyable stay at the Desert Quail Hotel. The in-room jacuzzi was a highlight, making for a relaxing experience after a day of exploring. The location is fantastic—close to a grocery store, restaurants, and even an outdoor market on weekends, which was a pleasant surprise. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the strong flushing toilet (a detail not to be overlooked!). However, the room could use some updates—particularly the carpet and living room furniture, which felt a bit dated. Additionally, we found some hair in the bathroom, which was disappointing and could be improved with better cleaning. Despite these minor issues, we had a good experience overall. With a few upgrades, this hotel could be even better!

Yelp
We just stayed here for 2 nights this last week. I have nothing but great things to say about our stay. This Inn isn't oozing with amenities or as uppity as the nearby Hilton Resort, but for the price it's amazing. This is one of those, park right outside your room, Inns. It's super easy to get in and out, no lobby to walk through or elevators to wait on. We loved having our freedom to come and go easily. PLUSES: The room was SUPER clean. Everything worked. Towels were thick. Strong water pressure in the shower - AWESOME! And my hubby's favorite: strong flushing toilets! Ha ha. Seriously, don't we all love this? Blow dryer, 4-cup coffee maker, fridge and microwave. TV with a ton of channels Bed was possibly memory foam - firm and really comfortable Gas fireplace (warmed the room) Black-out shade and another privacy shade Maids come EACH day (yes!) Small pool and hot tub on premises Helpful employees The location is another plus. We literally walked through a gate and were in the parking lot of the beautiful Clarks Grocery Store and an amazing breakfast spot, Red Rock Cafe. Oh my gosh, it was SO easy to run over for waters, a breakfast burrito, yummy gelato, the razor you forgot or anything else you need without getting in your car. We loved it! Unfortunately we had to cut our vacay short a day because of a huge storm coming in. We spoke to the manager about changing our stay and he was so considerate and flexible. I really appreciate his understanding and was so friendly. In the future, we'll stay here FOR SURE each time we come to Sedona.

Yelp
Pros: * The location is away from the main downtown area, which gives the inn a more quiet feel and there is plenty of parking. * There is no direct views of Bell Rock or Courthouse Butte, but the inn is very close to it -- great for early morning hikes. * The rooms are old, dingy, and dark, but overall clean. * A grocery store and breakfast cafe are within walking distance. Cons: * The front desk is very understaffed. There is only one person who handles all the phone calls, check-ins, check-outs, and current guest needs. I asked for an extra blanket and never got it after about an hour. When I went to the front desk, the lady was trying to answer incoming phone calls and walk to different linen rooms to get me a blanket. (1/2 star off) * The lady at the front desk is super spacey. If the staff is understaffed, then you better make sure the one person who is working there is very organized and can multi-task. I witnessed her taking incoming calls and saying "I will call you back" but never even took down the name and phone number -- this occurred multiple times! (1/2 star off) * WiFi is almost non-existent, but advertised as with WiFi. (1/2 star off) * There is a pool, but it's very small -- like the size of a big hot tub. (1/2 star off) If you have low expectations, this is a decent place to stay in Sedona.

Yelp
There's not a single negative thing to say about this place. It's not directly by the shops or downtown center so it's quiet, serene, and the view you get is breathtaking. Conveniently located next to a store and a cafe (that is absolutely AMAZING). The check in process was simple and the front desk workers are kind, eager to give you recommendations of any variety. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, there's not much else you can ask for.

Mary S.

Yelp
We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Sedona and the surrounding area. The hotel room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. We enjoyed the pool every afternoon after coming "home" from our Sedona adventures. The location was walking distance to many restaurants and coffee shops. We would stay here again.

Yelp
nick was awesome. rooms were great with fluffy towels and military tightness in the sheets. fantastic location. thank you, nick

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Our 3-night stay was completely satisfactory and the location is great. The room was more like a hotel than a motel. There's a great breakfast place called Red Rock Grill and a grocery store just behind the property which served our needs. We'll stay here again.

Tammi T.

Yelp
We stayed here for the first time during V-Day weekend. I will say for $500 for 2 nights, it was adequate. We had room 310 with the jacuzzi and fireplace. For that price or slightly more, I've had direct views of mountains (see Matterhorn Inn review) but this location on 179 felt less touristy. Less crowded. More chill. Well and it had both a hot tub AND jacuzzi so totes worth it. The dear Lady at the front desk was friendly, funny and helpful. The cons: The mini-fridge wasn't very cold. One of the lights were out over the bathroom mirror but it wasn't a big enough deal to call someone to change the bulb. The upstairs hot tub was pretty loud when a couple decided to use it in the middle of the night. I could hear the water running to fill it up to the jets to them sitting in it to them draining it. But it wasn't horrible. Minor annoyance. The pros: Fireplace was a nice treat. The room seemed updated but not overly fancy. I don't travel to watch TV so that doesn't matter much but they did have a very large screen tv. I always wipe down every surface with Clorox wipes but it felt clean. Private hot tub was the best part. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and other shopping. We would stay here again. But probably only in winter and ONLY the room with the extra amenities.

Josh H.

Yelp
The room itself was nice so no real complaints about the physical aspects. BUT...the wifi was so weak that it was practically unusable. Even trying to scroll social media was too much for it. Our cell phone signal (AT&T) was also very weak in the area of the hotel, so don't expect to be able to do any work, stream video, etc.

Toni H.

Yelp
Clean simple room. Adequate accommodations for one night or more. Decor is older, a bit worn. Bedding, towels very clean. There is a small pool to get refreshed in during the heat. Virtual check in at the lobby. We met one manager by chance- very friendly and helpful.

Carly K.

Yelp
Loved our stay here! Really nice room- equipped with a fridge, microwave, large sitting room with a couch. The bed was really comfortable & pillows were great too. Location is great- 5 minute drive to courthouse butte loop/Bell Rock which we ran in the morning & only 15 mins from downtown- so just outside of the busy city. Staff was really kind & helpful. Highly recommend staying here! *The one thing to note- they are not providing daily room cleaning "due to Covid-19." This was not a problem for us as we only stayed 2 nights- but I would have been upset about this if we stayed longer. We have been to other hotels recently and we were given the option to choose if we wanted daily service or not.

Jannis W.

Yelp
I got the room with a fireplace for an upcharge of $1 so I could feel fancy. Forget that it was in the apex of summer...I had to have the fancy fireplace. I did a one nighter in Sedona...after a wild bachelorette party in Scottsdale. I only wanted to stay one night because that would afford me two hikes, one in the evening and one in the morning. I chose Desert Quail because of its proximity to shops and the marginal views of the mountains from the window. It is very clean and very comfy. It is basic but I didn't expect more because I was paying basic prices. This was a good place to rest my head...not much to report.

Peter F.

Yelp
ADA labeled room that doesn't meet the standard for wheel chair users. First the bed was way to high for anyone in a wheelchair. Had to have someone literal lift up onto the bed. Couldn't get past the bed to the bathroom without having to move the dresser. Bathroom while large Had the sink way to high for any wheelchair. If your going to say a room is accessible you might want to know the average standard hight of a wheelchair. Mgmt was dismissive. For the disabled community I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Alisha S.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to spend our Anniversary weekend doing alot of hiking in Sedona.. we booked this room because it was at the inexpensive price point we wanted. It did not disappoint! It was so exceptional clean and nice! Located in the Village of Oak Creek just 10 mins from Sedona center. Close to a lot of the hiking trails. Grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants all within walking distance. Red Rock Cafe was our favorite for breakfast! We would definitely book again

Yelp
Heads up: this place has unethical management. If you made an reservation at desert quail inn, you better make it. Even if the flight gets canceled or you are sick cause they will just eat up your money! Stay at the desert quail inn only if you absolutely know for sure that you're airline won't cancel your flight or something else out of your control won't happen! My boyfriend and I had a plan to stay at the desert quail inn but the day before our trip, southwest canceled our flight. As soon as my boyfriend got the cancellation notice from the southwest, he tried to cancel the reservation so they could open the room. My boyfriend tried to reason with the hotel manager Nick that the flight cancellation was not in his control and that they can charge a $50 cancellation fee. But Nick said he needed to honor the reservation agreement and would charge him $200 if no one else took the room. I wonder how Nick would react to a hotel that wouldn't waive the cancellation fee if his flight is cancelled!

Yelp
Omg we loved Sedona & the Desert Quail Inn was the perfect place to stay. I would go back anytime. The room was quaint, comfortable and had a fireplace & spa tub! It was affordable compared to many other hotels we looked at. It was a little bit of a drive about 15 min to the main part of Sedona but was beautiful everywhere so totally not a big deal. The rooms could use some updating, this is not a modern or luxury place, but it was cute and clean & the bed was super comfy. It was also right next to coffee shops and an awesome little breakfast diner with the best buckwheat pancakes!!

Risa S.

Yelp
Hidden gem south of the main Sedona strip! We had been planning a trip to Az for a while, but hotels in Sedona were definitely expensive. We found this, which was in our budget. The staff was awesome and even though check in had to be before the main office closed (around 9:30 pm), they worked with us since we were driving in from Phoenix (a little less than 2 hours away). We fortunately arrived before than (so we didn't keep people from going home!) but the fact he was willing to work with us was so kind. A lot of the stuff there does close early, so be prepared for small town vibes - but the people are great! The only semi down side was that once you book the room it is non refundable, so basically once you choose it you need to keep to your itinerary or get there before closing (but that's not a deal breaker to me, I'm sure that policy was implemented due to poor past experiences from the owner). Just be confident you will be staying at the hotel! For the room itself, it was clean and comfortable. Also, we personally didn't experience any noise like some other reviews had stated. We stayed on the second floor so that may have helped, so possibly request that! The views when we woke up the next morning? I've attached pictures.

Sarah N.

Yelp
Clean and surprisingly large rooms! Great location - right near a super market and a breakfast cafe. Also walking distance to other restaurants and a tasting room. Outside of centralized Sedona which we loved since the traffic in centralized Sedona can be ridiculous so you can avoid getting stuck in it. Premium TV channels, nice hot water and good water pressure. Only complaint is the Wifi was awful - dial up was faster back in the day. Took literally 5mins to open an email and would keep cutting in and out.

Yelp
So in midst of Covid-19 we were sooooo beyond tired of staying indoors, watching Netflix, doing puzzles and watching Redbox movies. Hubby was slow at work and I being newly retired decided to take an overnight trip to beautiful Sedona. Found this gem on Hotels.com with good reviews so booked a room. King sized bed, gas fireplace, super clean room. Only negative was carpet looked old and worn with some stains, but not enough to to cause concern. Staff was friendly. Room had frig (no freezer), microwave, prime satellite tv channels like HBO and free WiFi. Pool is very small but we were only ones in pool at 7pm. Had floaties available for use. Hot tub was great after dip in pool. Enjoyed later around 8:30 pm. It's open til 9 pm. Bed was soooo comfy! I have issues with my one leg causing pain at night but not on this comfy mattress. A/C worked great. There's a walkway by pool, very short walk, that leads to a fantastic restaurant called Red Rock Cafe. I reviewed them here on Yelp so check it out. A grocery store is right next to restaurant. All a few steps from hotel. Convenient. Hotel was super quiet. Never heard a peep from any other guest. We will definitely be back. It is located on outskirts of Sedona but rather have the peace and quiet then hectic downtown. Yet only 10 minutes from the action!

Jay B.

Yelp
I'm so happy we found this hotel. Our reservation was mysteriously canceled by a hotel I always stay at when I come to Sedona. It is Labor Day weekend and it is packed, but we are here to celebrate my birthday. I felt like crying because we drove all this way and other places were really expensive or booked. Nick helped us and was very kind to us. He turned a horrible day around for me. I was really about to cry and drive to Flagstaff for a room. Now this is the place I will stay when I return twice a year. By the way, the rooms are nicer here than my usual place. Great location too. THANKS SO MUCH NICK FOR YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Ellie T.

Yelp
We like the facility and location of the motel. Upkeep is nice and we love that it's away from the chaos of downtown. Staff is very mediocre and lack of daily cleaning due to Covid is barely tolerable. While we like the fact that the room is relatively new and clean, the unnecessary door to the connecting room has proven to be an unexpected big hassle. Guests staying next door keep harassing us about every little noise and were actually very loud themselves. They even seem to like banging on the connecting door. So that is a big annoyance with staying here. Would still recommend the place but maybe ask for a different type of room.

Hugh K.

Yelp
Good news / bad news about staying at this property. The good news: Front desk service at check-in was friendly and efficient. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious. Alas, the good news ends there. The bad news: There is zero cell phone service here. The telephone in the room did not work properly, and instructions on how to use it from the front desk did nothing to improve the situation. Moreover, in the morning, there was nobody around the office to get help from or to do a proper check-out. Additionally, every single time that the micro-fridge clicked on, the television turned off briefly. Every time the fridge clicked off during its cooling cycle, the television also turned off again briefly. Every hour on the hour, the television signal reset itself, forcing a roughly 7-minute-long outage in television viewing.

Ally J.

Yelp
What a little gem this is ! The room is clean , spacious and practical , the beds are firm and the sheets are fresh ! I did not expect this for a price of $95 a night . The proximity to the rock formations are awesome and a short drive to Sedona's shopping area . Would not hesitate to stay here again .

Layla N.

Yelp
We needed a suite last minute and Marina was very helpful. She understand that a family of five needed space but on a travel friendly budget. We originally were going to go with adjoining rooms but Marina suggested a suite. It suited us well. The bedroom was a little to bright so I would suggest putting a curtain up. There was also a dead cockroach on the floor and a spider above the window. Not that big of a deal but it does make you wonder when the last time the room was vacuumed. The kids really enjoyed the pool and there are towels at the pool to use. The breakfasts you order the night before and go pick up, they were exactly what we needed to get our day started.

Sophia K.

Yelp
Wifi is falsely advertised as being high speed. DO NOT stay here if you need to do work remotely on your computer and need the internet. I encountered issues when trying to attend Zoom calls from my room. I had specifically booked the room so that I could work there, so this was very upsetting and negatively impacted my business. If a room is $200 a night, the WiFi should work well enough to attend a meeting. I mentioned this to the man working the front desk at checkout and he was not receptive and argued with me about it. He was being rude, interrupting me, denying there was an issue. My friend who was sharing the room experienced this same issue - she couldn't even load videos on YouTube on her phone, so it wasn't just me. I called Expedia who tried to talk to him and he would not offer me a partial refund or even apologize for the situation. Expedia reported this to their marketing team since they agreed it was unethical and false advertising. I didn't call the front desk at the time the poor connection was happening because the meetings were already compromised - it was too late for repair. There would have been no point in trying to fix it while already in session with a client from Australia. It was embarrassing, unprofessional to say the least. I wouldn't have left this negative review if Desert Quail Inn had been honest or receptive to talking to me about this issue. Instead the guy at the front desk was taking the approach of bullying me, saying it's not their problem because I didn't call when it happened (explanation why above) and trying to distract me from the point I was making by saying it was the cheapest room in town that night, etc - things having nothing to do with the internet; which was the only thing I was complaining about. If you see my other Yelp reviews, you'll notice I haven't even left a bad review before but this treatment and lack of professionalism merited it. On another note - when I checked in the woman at the front desk was wearing a face shield but NO MASK, so this place clearly is not strict about Covid protocol. The coffee table in my room also had fingerprints and streaks on it so sanitized it myself with hand sanitizer and a washcloth. Yikes.

Robin A.

Yelp
Very nice room, clean and roomy. Extremely convenient location - we could walk to so many places we needed to go. Staff was very accomodating and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again.

Kiersten D.

Yelp
Nice rooms and cheap. The bathroom door hit the toilet when you try to open or close it which was odd and the toilet was very loud. The woman at the front desk when we checked in wasn't very friendly. Wasn't patient with us and was more interested in getting us out the door than helping us, even though we were the only ones there. Overall not a bad place to stay. Coffee pot with coffee, tea and hot chocolate was in the room and the bed was nice and big. Pillows were a bit small for the size of the bed. Definitely recommend brining your own pillow.

April K.

Yelp
We called last minute and unlike the other nearby places they said that they would be right out. He was very friendly and helpful. This place is wonderful if all you need is sleep and an ice machine, which in our case it was. I would def. come back here when I make another trip out to sedona! He said that there was a really good breakfast place right out back which we weren't able to try out.

Cory W.

Yelp
We were in Sedona for an evening and had decided on the Desert Quail Inn due to it's location and price. They were very accommodating and offered several restaurant suggestions. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There weren't a lot of people in other rooms so I can't speak to any noise levels but for what its worth - we had a second floor room and it was very quiet (which was great after hiking and eating our way around Sedona). Shower had good water pressure/temperature. Room was clean. Couldn't have asked for much more considering the price. I also can't reiterate the location as there is a grocery store, red rock cafe, and firecreek coffee all within walking distance. Will absolutely be returning back the next time we're in Sedona.

Suzanne K.

Yelp
The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and informative. Location was very convenient to Sedona. We stayed at several hotels that were similar in the area, and this one by far offered the best value. We will definitely be returning. One nice perk is that you can cut through the back of the parking lot to walk to the Red Rock Café, which has excellent breakfast and lunch options. And one final point is that no matter where you park in the parking lot it is super convenient to bring your luggage to your room. I really appreciated this because we travel with a lot of luggage.

Rachel S.

Yelp
It was midnight and hotels.com was suggesting best western for $280. Decided to Yelp and see what else was available, found this gem. King size bed, fireplace, jacuzzi tub in the room. Nothing fancy but super clean and $100 cheaper than best western. Wished we had stayed another night to enjoy it.

D. S.

Yelp
So happy to have chosen the Desert Quail Inn for our two nights in Sedona last month. Very accommodating, family-run, budget (without being cheap in amenities) motel. Three senior women (sounds exciting, huh? :D) requested and received a ground floor double room plus a rollaway. The number of towels was sufficient so we declined housekeeping after the first night and both husband and wife confirmed the request to avoid any confusion or dissatisfaction. The manager was available, answered questions, and offered pertinent suggestions, like recommending Famous Pizza for delivery! DQI is located in Oak Creek Village just south of the more commercial and expensive sections of Sedona which suited us to a tee. Clean room, comfortable beds, quiet location, red rocks close by, and a supermarket next door. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
This wonderful gem of a hotel had me worried at first because it's a bit of a drive out of Sedona proper, in a section called Oak Creek. It's a standard two story place with outdoor corridors and no elevator. While I didn't feel particularly welcomed by the gentleman at the desk upon arrival, the little office did contain a lot of local information with brochures and restaurant menus and also had a desktop computer available for guest use. I requested a ground floor room and was accommodated, which was perfect as you can park right outside the room. Our room was very large, clean and comfortable, with a microwave and refrigerator and a loveseat sitting area. The shower head was amazing and I forgot to look at the brand because now I want one! Housekeeping only works certain hours so be sure to let them know if you want your room cleaned later than usual. There is a lovely pool and spa, both of which had an interesting chair lowering apparatus. We did not have time to use either. There is a lovely café (Red Rock Café) and even nicer grocery store (Clark's Market) right behind this hotel. I recommend both. I wish the cafés in Sedona stayed open for dinner but they roll up their sidewalks pretty early here and most of the reasonable dining choices are only open for breakfast and lunch. Once you get the lay of the land here, this community of Oak Creek is only about 15-20 minutes away from Sedona proper, and there are also a few local restaurant choices and other hotels here. Be aware that most of Northern Arizona that we experienced is a very dark drive after sunset so hopefully you figure out where you want to be going before it gets too late in the day!

Jacqueline C.

Yelp
The owner of this motel is extremely friendly. To top it off the room was super nice and to my surprise was even nicer than the Hilton hotels my bf and I have been to. The owner even let us check out an hour past our check out time with no hassle or extra fee. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know!

Kelly J.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay here during Thanksgiving weekend. I know, this review is long overdue. The rooms have been remodeled and they come with all the amenities one would need on a road trip. The front desk was very accommodating and eager to help with directions to hiking trails, restaurants, etc. Parking can be tight here at times but they were ok with my parents parking in the lot while we grabbed breakfast at the Red Rock Cafe. I would give this five stars but the outside needs a little TLC. Other than that I would have no problem recommending this place. It's a really good value for your money.

X M.

Yelp
Super clean place and cheap place. Highly recommend place if you are visiting Sedona and would like to save some money ($150 at Desert Quail Inn vs. $565 at Hilton down the street).

Matt H.

Yelp
I can see why the Desert Quail is so highly ranked on Trip Advisor! Everything about this little place was awesome. The man who worked the front desk the entire time during our stay was extremely friendly and very helpful. The rooms are a little older but we had no problems with that. The room was very clean and we had zero problems with anything in our room. Our room had wonderful shower pressure and consistent hot water. I have zero negative things to say about my stay here. I would recommend this motel to anyone visiting Sedona for any length of time. This location might not be for everyone since it's a little down the road from the main drag in Sedona. Since most people have a rental car while visiting Sedona I don't see that as a negative. If you're looking for a hotel to be able to walk to and from while visiting the main drag this motel wouldn't work for you.

Laurel M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed staying here! The location is perfect, there are lots of good restaurants around and a grocery store super close by. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Matea M.

Yelp
We were looking for a simple, not too expensive place, since we were not planning to spend time at the hotel. Desert Quail was better than expected. From outside looks like a regular drive by motel. But the rooms were modern and super clean. The lady at the front. desk was very nice and gave recommendations on were to eat. There is no restaurant at the hotel but you can have a great breakfast next door, do grocery shopping and much more. Pillows and beds were very comfortable and we even loved the soap and shampoo they had!

Yelp
Nice place and good service. Room was really clean. It is outside of sedona but that makes it not as crowded as other places. Kind of a hidden gem. It does have an outdoor pool. This is a clean normal hotel and not a spa so if you want to rest for the night, stop here. Very quiet. Bathrooms are a little small but water pressure in the shower is good

Yelp
I'd give it a 0 if that were an option. Don't stay here. It is noisy, has no view or appeal, no breakfast, no elevator, outrageous price though still cheaper than most, the WiFi doesn't work, and the desk clerk is rarely there and not much help. They charge extra if a second person stays even if you are paying for a two-queen room. And then there is this wonderful touch: If you have to depart early they seem to refund the extra days so you do see a pending credit while you're still in the area, and then they pull it before the credit actually registers. They are an avaricious, sleaze ball outfit.

Yelp
There was room for us at this inn! The owner of the Desert Quail Inn literally got out of his bed in the middle of the night to let us in in an otherwise completely booked town. We had stopped at the Holiday Inn up the road and dealt with the most unbelievably rude and unfriendly front desk person who clearly hated her job and refused to help with the unreasonable rate of their only room available. We called the Desert Quail while only up the street and the owner answered from home and got himself out of bed to help our stranded selves out and rented us a room. He took maybe 5 minutes and we were in. It was a great comfy room too. Very clean, warm, and inviting. Would recommend to anybody looking in the area.

Yelp
Location ok, price great! Customer service Definetly needs some training rude disrespectful guy behind the counter. Almost got his ass whooped. Needless to say we did not stay there and never will. As a buisness owner I understand sometimes you dont want to put a smile on your face and do your job. But sometimes you just got to suck it up n get through your day. They dont like Minorities here it seems at least he didnt Not a good experience at all ended up leaving...check map As well before you stay 20 30 bux more gets you in the heart of sedona this palce is on the outskirts and not at all in where you want to be if looking for a true sedona experience.... pay cheap pay twice!

Yelp
I was specifically looking for a Jacuzzi Bath Tub. I saw a room at this hotel and verified it was the room I wanted. When I show up, the room is normal and looks NOTHING like what I reserved. I calmly informed the desk agent and we discussed other room options. She then called the owner to ask how to do it. The owner began screaming over the phone and insisted to talk to me. He begins to rail on about Booking.com screwing him over twice this week with the same issue. I simply hand the handset back to the desk agent as I did not want to hear this language. As we are walking out to the room the owner comes speeding into the property and jumps out of his car and begins to continue his tirade from the phone conversation, and even says "I'm going to comp the room but you have to cancel with booking.com". I say ok, then after he continues his tirade, I tell him that I was never asking for anything other than the option to see a different room. I inform him I'd like to just leave and go to our room and he gets upset and says "well so sorry to take up all your time!" Mind you I'm a new guest checking in for the first time. Upon check out as soon as I walk in the office he points at me and says "you were wrong! You reserved the room wrong!" and proceeds to show me on his app how I was wrong. I'm standing there asking myself how in the world he can assume all the taps and steps I took to make my reservation. Just laughing thinking this owner is crazy. I ask him how he can assume all my steps to make the wrong choice. He says "that is just how you made your mistakes!" I just tell him I'm done with him and walk out. Two days late I see HE CANCELLED THE BOOKING.COM reservation with a bogus reason and then turned around and charged me directly from his hotel...essentially cutting booking.com out of the loop. I believed this to be not only in-ethical, but possibly even illegal,I dispute with my bank and win. NO Integrity or ethics from property owner. DONT STAY HERE!! You've been warned

Yelp
This place was just fine for our 2-night stay in Sedona. The room was clean and large. It had a small fridge which came in handy to cool our water before going on our hikes. (It was 80+ degrees.) No complaints except that the bed was hard and you had to slam the door to lock it. Pool on-site so bring bathing attire. Outlet stores located across the street. Cafe next door at Red Rock Coffee. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Yelp
I needed a flop house for a layover in Sedona, and the Desert Quail Inn more than hit the mark. The motel's recently been renovated, and the rooms are quite attractively furnished, comfortable, and clean. The staff are also extremely friendly (which is always a plus, but became an even bigger one after staying later on the trip in another Sedona-area hotel). My super-cheap $79 king room offered a refrigerator, a microwave, a totally awesome shower head, and a comfortable (if slightly hard for my pillowtop-owning self) memory-foam-topped mattress. Bonus points for a quiet A/C with an even quieter sleep mode and actual temperature settings measured in degrees. I'd gladly stay in the Desert Quail Inn again without a second thought. It's easy to find in Oak Creek, and I don't have a bad thing to say about it.

Yelp
This was the best budget motel experience I've ever had, and my rating is based on the type of place it is. For under $100/night I got a king bed, sofa, large room, gas fireplace, fridge, microwave, flat screen and wifi. I had been staying at a place up the street that had a more of a view, but was $40 a night more. Who stays in their room in Sedona to see the sights anyhow? The room had been recently renovated and was very clean. The location was great, in Oak Creek out of the thick of the tourist area, next to a café, supermarket, and plenty of other things within walking distance including an outlet mall. The owners were friendly and you could see people around the properly working. There is a pool, although it wasn't open for the season yet. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Sedona.

Yelp
This is the hotel that I stayed in when first to Sedona. I thought I had booked into a Quality inn, but discovered this was a Quail inn. Oh well! The rooms were clean, the pool was small, but enjoyable, the views were terrific, the price was cheap, and I had a little fridge. Other than that, it was all about hiking on the red rock. If I were on a tight budget, I'd stay here again. Otherwise, I might spend a tad more and sleep at the Kings Ransom.

Yelp
Arrived in Sedona for our first time and during check in were hoping the receptionist would've been a little more knowledgeable of the area and give us a few pointers, but she wasn't interested. We had a room upstairs and they do not have elevators. The room was clean and had a nice couch and table to sit at. Positives: fridge, sink separate from the bathroom, quiet hotel, clean rooms. The hotel has 1 ice machine and it is located by the pool. The free wifi worked well too.

Yelp
Disappointed. Made a reservation on hoteltonight.com - $140 (Discounted) Was given room 301, first level across from lobby. Pillows were great. Bed was comfortable enough and that's about where the good ends. Could hear every footstep above me, toilets flushing, etc. Bathroom door would not shut all the way because it was missing the metal sleeve that goes inside the wood frame so the door would not stay shut. I was never told that our room was an "accessible" handicap room. Nothing wrong with that of course. It is just that the handicap shower head had a stripped nut that held the shower head in one place. I moved the shower head to the highest position as I'm 6'4" tall. I could not keep the shower head to stay up because of the stripped nut that was supposed to hold it in place. It kept falling down and hitting me on the top of my head. I even went out to my car to get a pair of pliers to try and fix it and that's when I discovered the threads were stripped. I'm sorry but if you're gonna be in the travel business in the day of social media and charge over a hundred bucks for a modest room, your guests should be able to at least be able to enjoy a hot shower without having to constantly hold the shower head to take a shower. Not a happy camper this morning. Please get this room in good shape for your next guest.
