I thought this place was alright! We arrived at 5:20pm for a 6pm show. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server who took our drink order. Yes drinks are overpriced but name a place with a drink minimum that isn't. We got our drinks pretty quick despite what some of the reviews here say. Our server was attentive and we never felt like we were forgotten. The seating is kinda funky but other than that this is an alright venue!

Google
Had an absolutely wonderful time doing the play, Price Of Freedom, on June 17th. The staff and technical crew were BEYOND amazing, courteous, and attentive. We had fun, just being in the lounge area before the show. LOVE the place, the food was great, and again, the staff was 5 Star! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Google
We saw the most amazing Lady Gaga drag brunch show here. Great food, entertainment was exceptional, and the venue is spacious.

Google
Had a great time due they're Drag Brunch Selena theme Great time always a blast!

AZ Dad2day

Google
Great venue for a comedy show! Plenty of seating options available. Many hilarious comedians have performed - Ian Bagg, Steve Byrne, Adan Corolla, Kevin Nellon, Jamie Lissow, Karen Morgan, Dave Koechner, and more! Food is ok, service is good! Many other fun events like The Office trivia! Also very affordable!

Google
First off, the comedian was great, but that was the only great thing about our experience here. The doors opened 15 minutes late, which was understandable and forgivable. However, despite being in the first half of the line out the door and arriving an hour early, we were the last to order and the last to get water. Then, they were out of their signature Pina colada. Then they were out of Malibu. And again, even that could be forgivable if there wasn't a two drink minimum for $20 cocktails. Spending $40 each on third choice drinks is ridiculous. We very explicitly ordered our (third choice) drinks, and they still came out wrong. I would be understanding if these were normal priced and not required. Not to mention that we couldn't actually see the stage without leaning over the table. For over $200 I would expect much better service and a much better experience.

Google
The staff had everything very well organized. There was plenty of room for our group. The show was well run. The food was basic but tasty. Drinks were very expensive.

Google
The pizza was pretty good. I wasn't overly impressed with the sub, and none of us were very big fans of the garlic bread. I wouldn't rate this place right in the middle with 3 stars, making it average overall, had it not been for the onion rings. I can honestly say that the onion rings were some of the best I ever had and the reason I decided to bump my rating from a 3 to a 4 star. I'm not sure about everything else, but I'd go back from them alone.

Yelp
DO NOT go hungry! Seriously overpriced for poor quality. Condiments were not available, even for purchase. Understaffed so service was S-L-O-W! Show was good!

Yelp
My husband bought the VIP tickets online for the comedian Kevin Nealon. Our tickets were for the 7:30 pm show. We stood in line outside around 7pm. We were pretty close to the front. Right at 7:30pm they started letting us in. We actually got good seats close to the front. They did require a 2 drink minimum. I ordered a coke. There wasn't any gluten free options so I passed on the food. The drinks were super pricey. The show was good and the cost value made it a fun date night. Plenty of parking since it's located at Desert Ridge Mall.

Yelp
Had such a great time here for a drag brunch! I went with 3 stars only because we couldn't see the performers for most of the show based on how the place is set up. We snagged a booth and thought we totally scored, but while it was comfy it was not elevated like some of the tables, so we couldn't see the performers at all unless they were on stage or right by our table. Having been to lots of drag shows and brunches before, I haven't had this problem to this so it really stuck out to me. If you go, make sure to get one of the tables in the middle, the reserved spots along the back wall that are high up, or one of the elevated tables around the middle of the room. Our server was great -- they were packed and super busy but he still managed to come by and get our orders a couple times. The drinks are super overpriced, but I think that's how they make their $$ so it's understandable. I got the cucumber highball and if you like mocktails, I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
They claim a comedy show was sold out at the door when their website clearly showed tickets were available for purchase. The staff told me if you could buy it online when standing in front of the entrance then they'd let you in. So while standing in front I had to waste time filling out their website to purchase tickets and of course so they can earn their "service fees" for lack of service. Clearly all their staff were *well versed* with excuses to this problem for past events. As previous reviews state - they over pack customers in there. The lightning on the stage backdrop is ridiculous in blazing yellow signage that you can't make out the faces of comedians. I wouldn't dare ordering food here when I saw "kimchi deviled eggs" listed as an item. The wait staff do their best running around like it's mayhem in the dark. When ordering drinks be prepared to get wine/cocktails served to you in every type of glassware imaginable, each time different. I've been to a lot of standup/music venues - from tiny, ghetto, dive bars, new and old theaters, large stadiums - but I'd find it very difficult coming back here.

Yelp
We had an amazing evening at this Improv seeing Flip Orley perform his magical hypnosis. The show was for 7:30 but they suggested we come one hour prior. They opened their doors right at the box office to let us all in at 6:30. It was just enough time to get situated with drinks and food before the show began. Service was excellent. The drinks were little pricey but decent. There are two drink minimum but you can order soft drinks as it counts towards it. We enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
I very much enjoyed the stand up comedy upon my visit. The drink prices were rather expensive compared to other venues I have visited in other cities. Also the service was lacking but I saw our waitress tend another table at least 3 times before she ever came back to ours. It was a great atmosphere with what seemed a willing crowd.

Yelp
Talent = GREAT! Venue = ugh! They will cram you in like sardines so you're sitting with your back to the stage in a narrow row of chairs and someone else is sitting like 6" behind you. If you want to turn your chair, good like finding the space! Prices for food are insane. I'm pretty sure it's cheaper to eat and drink at Universal Studios or Coachella...?! $12 high noons $17.95 margaritas We got an order of buffalo wings that were $17.95 and they had the audacity to charge an additional 50¢ for the buffalo sauce?! Lol Just don't bother eating here -- if it's crowded, you won't have the elbow room to move utensils anyway... but 2 expensive drinks are required!
google avatar

Yelp
You think they have done this before and would have the process down. VIP tickets to see our favorite comedian. Hot summer night. The line outside was a few hundred people deep (luckily, we were up front - which meant we waited in the heat longer). If you pay extra, you should have special amenities, say maybe a VIP line? At worst, knowing folks are waiting in the heat at least add misters outside. The show itself was AMAZING but that's all due to the comedian's talent. Service was OK, at times slow, extremely marked up on the high end and gratuity is already included. I'll never attend a summer event here again.

Yelp
Went to Bingo Loco last night which was an absolute blast! This was my first time at this venue. I didn't eat, but did have drinks (2 minimum). I was in a large group for the VIP section. Our server took good case of us. I was surprised that the old fashioned I ordered was really good. As for the venue, it was decent. Bathrooms were clean and the support staff was friendly. They got us in the door and seated quickly.

Yelp
After several email exchanges, I was invited back by Alex, the GM to give it another shot. They did NOT disappoint! I was told that it took time to clean house and get things back on track, which is understandable. I attended the 90s R&B Diva drag brunch. We had no wait, and whatever they did to find better servers definitely worked! We had a gentleman named Barry as our server and he most definitely was attentive and sooo sweet. I ordered the chilaquiles again and added birria and it was perfectly done this time with no issue. The birria meat is still as good as I remembered. Now.... we had THE BEST TIME at this show! The entire room was erupting in singing along to all of the hits. We were dancing and making friends. Just the best atmosphere. I will be back and you all have done an amazing job with turning the place around. Even the door staff was polite.
google avatar

T R.

Yelp
Show was amazing! The staff needs to get their act together. Brought food before our drinks. Whaat? I was thirsty. And the specialty drinks on the menu were not to my liking - very sweet. Stick to the basics for the price you'll be happier! I now follow all the queens and will be back. But just to watch the show and have 2 beers

Yelp
2/3/24: My sister and I came here for the 2:00 pm Harry Potter themed drag brunch. First time at the Improv and first drag brunch, too. Will we go back? Short answer: no! Nor will we be going to any future FlipPhone drag events, but we will go to another drag show. Parking: what a freaking nightmare. That alone ensures we will never return to Desert Ridge. Punctuality: I called ahead of time and was told the doors would open between 1:00 and 1:30 for the 2:00 show time. Arrived about 1:15, was told closer to 1:30. It then became 1:40. Doors did not open until 2:00. Food & drinks: misleading menu online and overpriced! When we looked at the menu online, it was all for the Copper Blues next door. Everything sounded good and was reasonably priced. BUT WAIT -- upon arrival, the menu was not from Copper Blues and the drink prices were not listed. That should have been our first red flag. The menus were themed for Harry Potter, which was kinda cool. When I asked our server, Shelby, he did confirm that we did not have to buy alcohol to meet the two-drink minimum. We could go with a bottomless $15 soda. With that, I thought the cocktails would be reasonably priced. WRONG! They were upwards of $17 and not even close to being worth that much. My sister ordered the croque madame loaded tots and I the lemon ricotta pancakes. The tots were plentiful for sure, but she only ate about half because she said they started to taste off & upset her stomach. When my meal was delivered it was clearly the chocolate chip pancake plate -- and those pancakes were flatter than a dollar bill. Shelby corrected the error and delivered the lemon ricotta pancakes. I wish I had taken pictures so you would see how badly presented the food was and how flat the 'cakes were. Entertainment: the Queens were all right but 1) I did not realize they would be lip syncing, and 2) I expected more dancing vs just gyrating, with arms all akimbo and legs kicking. Seems they were more interested in just taking your money vs actually performing. Maybe some of them were last-minute add ons to the lineup, or it was a new routine, but jeezy Pete, they were all off on the lip syncing. A toddler could have done better. Final say: no, we most definitely will never return to the Desert Ridge Improv or attend a FlipPhone event, but the experience has piqued my desire to attend more drag shows.

Yelp
I've attempted to call this place about a dozen times and left two messages on their chat system....nothing. Maybe someone here can help me. I have tickets for tomorrow to see Kevin Nealon. The show starts at 6:00. When do they actually let people in? About when is he expected to perform? Besides a 2 drink minimum, what other things should I know? Is it wise to line up outside by a certain time?

Yelp
Another fun time Fish bowl drink a good deal - comes with two free tickets to a future show!!! Opening act was Crystal Denha - awesome!! Saw Adam Corolla -- fantastic Sold out crowd Nice menu Many drink options Changed seating in front - much better

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place! I come here often and love it every time. They have the comedians that I love to see come through here. Tonight we had Sam as our server and she was amazing! They always have a good food menu. Prices are a little rough, but that's to be expected with quality entertainment.

Kimmy Q.

Yelp
I totally understand the two-drink minimum if all you are doing is having drinks. Totally valid. ALSO, totally valid to charge your "bottomless" non-alcoholic drink prices IF only having drinks. But for two people who are sober and cannot purchase / drink alcohol, this is totally excessive in addition to us purchasing food. Food should absolute count. I'm sure the servers probably tack it on since if the bill is higher, in theory, their tips will be higher as well. But this was extremely dissatisfying. Again, especially since we do not drink alcohol. Feels like we are being punished.

Yelp
I went to a drag brunch, purchased VIP tickets and was the first seat at the stage. They only had 3 queens, who came out a couple of times, and they almost immediately walked off the stage, collected tips while lip syncing, then exited. That was the whole "show", 95% of which, I couldn't even see the performer. In my opinion, there was NO SHOW and I ordered an iced tea to fulfill my 2-drink minimum, and walked out. Alcoholic drinks are $20 each. I've been to drag shows before, and yes they collected tips. However, they spent time performing on stage before and after working the crowd. This was an expensive day for me, and a huge disappointment. In addition, the door we had entered was closed off by a floor to ceiling panel, so we walked to the "Exit" at the back, and entered Copper Blues, which was closed and locked. Fortunately, there was a woman there who let us out. I don't know, but that seems like a potential fire trap.

Yelp
Great venue. Got seated quickly and Sam was on it as soon as we sat down. Two drink minimum.
google avatar

Albert M.

Yelp
The comedy was fair ... The price of drinks just stupid expensive.. and after all that they have an 20% gratuity on your bill.. I tip on good service!!! Strongly not a recommendation!!

Adam L.

Yelp
Bad service. Brought my food without silverware and then even when I asked for it let me stare at my food for half an hour with no fork. Also out fire ball in my old fashioned. Really?

Barney J.

Yelp
The WORST service ever. All of the staff were rude and not helpful at all. The food and drinks were terrible and the seating is the worst setup for a comedy club. I do not recommend coming back... and if you do go make sure you do not have Delaney as your server!!!!!!

D B.

Yelp
Good comedians, service seemed good for everyone else, but our party of 6 never was served, and needed to ask 4x for a server to come over! A lady who finally did, said she's covering someone, but who? She didn't for anyone else, and that was 1 hour 15 minutes after we were sat. Other tables already had their drinks and food before we got service. For 300 people, they had 2 servers. Clearly they need more servers for a Friday night. The manager took off 1 drink per person in our group off the check.
google avatar

Diana P.

Yelp
I love drag shows and a friend of mine and I went - were so excited! HOWEVER, the show sucked and we walked out. RuPaul would have had a meltdown! Only three queens performed! We were front stage but what did they do? Walked down from the stage, lip sang and did nothing but walk around collecting money. We saw absolutely nothing. Do not waste your money on this poor excuse of a drag show! For what it cost, we could have seen RuPaul in Phoenix - wish we'd known because we would have seen a quality show for a lot less!

M H.

Yelp
Comedy was GREAT!! Service and venue terrible. Very poor service. Brought wrong order twice, then argued about it. Unwilling to correct their mistake. Took forever to take order. Very slow to close us out. Do NOT recommend this venue!
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
I cannot believe this bingo loco is actually getting booked. Maybe people will try it once but I think the word should go around after once that this show sucks! It's not really bingo, it's nothing but a cheap way to gather people together so they can pay 37$ entrance fee then keep you inside as long as they can so you can buy the expensive water down drinks. The show was horrible run by two guy wearing their pajama shorts. One is the DJ and one is the entertainer. It was an awful show. But if you put all these people that are drinking in one room pump them up with cut little papers and have three little bingo cards, I guess that's a show?? By the way, the audience with the winning number get a plastic dildo for a winning price and you can suck it from the floor using no hands to pick it up. What a joke of a bingo! These show should be closed soon. It's a waste of four hours show to find out in the end that your water down drinks cost you 400 dollars for your group of four. Save your self the time and money. It's not a bingo and it's not a show. You are the show that you paid yourself and they made the money.

Yelp
First of all the show was amazing we saw Peter Antoniou he is a comedian and a physic his talent is off the charts. The venue is nice and was only about half full, there seemed to be plenty of servers milling around. Our waitress immediately reminded us of the 2 drink minimum which we had no problem with. I ordered a vodka soda my partner ordered a Michelob Ultra we also ordered some wings. 30 minutes later our wings arrived it took an additional 10 minutes to get our drinks. They could sell a lot more drinks if it didn't take 40 minutes to get one.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
Ambiance: did not need to change. Service: When cocktails become a precedence over just a beer, there's an issue. Food and drinks here are overpriced. The new management sucks here too. I'd recommend going somewhere else.

Denice R.

Yelp
First time going here. Not impressed. I have been to numerous comedy clubs over the years and have NEVER walked out before the performance was over and sadly, so did several others. Comedians should realize....if people are NOT laughing at your material, you need a back up plan. Just because you are gay, doesn't mean your entire performance should be your sexual preferences. Very raunchy and not at all funny. Management should revise the line up as the venue is nice and could have potential. The service was so so. Food was ok.
google avatar

Nydia A.

Yelp
Bad... So bad. Just terrible, I'd never return. My reasons are listed below: 1. They make you wait outside prior to the show. We arrived half hour prior to the show and the line was already so long. Others were standing there for an hour! The other comedy club on high Street let's you come inside and have a meal prior to the show. 2. Terrible service. When we ordered our burgers the waitress asked if we wanted chips or fries.. but she never said it was an upcharge for fries. That's just shady. We ordered 2 beers and they took 45 minutes to arrive and once my beer came, it was flat! The food took an hour and 20 minutes. Server was not apologetic at all. And to top it off, they have the nerve to automatically add a tip to your bill! Unbelievable. 3. It's more expensive and more crowded than the house of comedy. They really pack em in, I felt like a canned sardine and I couldn't even see the stage because of the people in front of me. It's Not at all worth the price, for 2 of us it was about 150 for tickets, dinner and drinks. 4. The food wasn't very good either. The fries were ok but the burgers were bland. Also they enforce 2 drink minimum even if your eating a full dinner, which is not the case at the other comedy club. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the talent was good. Unfortunately it's not enough to offset all the bad. In my opinion, Rick Bronson house of comedy is much better!
google avatar

Matty P.

Yelp
Great place to see a show. Getting to see Harland Williams in this place is totally cool. Service is top notch all the way.

Deanna S.

Yelp
The night I went the comedian was okay, not what I was expecting and spent most of the evening complaining that there were on 23 people in the audience. Show ended early because he walked off stage. Strange night and hope it was just not the right comedian vs the talent they book. The 2 drink minimum was expensive for what you get, but the ticket prices were not bad.
google avatar

Darnell G.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at the improv. They were well organized, friendly, had a few really good Mocktails, decent nachos, and two fantastic comics. I read some of the unflattering reviews and was hesitant to go but everything went smoothly. I received a prompt reply via Yelp to a question I had and an email day of show providing logistical info. Our server was attentive and really nice. I'll be back again soon.
google avatar

Sharla L.

Yelp
Candice is awesome!! Fast, attentive service and super friendly!! Carlos Mencia and openers were hilarious! Perfect night out!

Amigo A.

Yelp
Brunch Drag show was not impressive and disappointing for a Bday celebration. Compared to other shows around the valley - don't waste your money. Ticket cost, drink quality, price (2 drink min) and lackluster performers failed. Walking around lip synching & grabbing dollar bills is not a "show".
google avatar

Michaela M.

Yelp
Went here for a Saturday Drag Brunch. Entertainment was great. Service not so much. The show was approximately 2 hours long, in which we only saw our waitress TWICE. This is my first time ever going to this establishment, very nice inside and out. Great location at the Desert Ridge Shopping Center

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Been here twice . The staff are very nice . The talent is wonderful if you pick your favs to see . Buttttt the seating is terrible. There is no room to relax as they pack in too many people with very uncomfortable chairs and tables . Heads are in the way of the comics , you are constantly just to move your own head to see the comic . Both times we were sat at a community high top table with table bar b/w our legs and barely leaving any room to move our legs . It's a big struggle to get out of your seat to get to the restroom as tables and chairs are full behind you ( and they are just as uncomfortable as you are ! So they don't want to slide in to let you out !) . Food and drink prices are pretty high , heard many people complain over their bills . The community tables are not a good choice for us to return .

Yelp
My Mom & I went to the Disney Villains Drag Brunch today at 11am. The show was great & the costumes were amazing but the service is where the venue gets two stars. The ticket information doesn't let you know when the doors open just that the show started at 11am. I suggest that you find out ahead of time & arrive early for better service. They require a 2 drink minimum per person which is fine but when you don't have enough servers to accommodate that, it becomes a problem. It took 25-30 mins to get a round of drinks for our party of two. Also, the venue adds an automatic gratuity to your bill, no matter the size of your party. No where on the ticket information or inside the venue were we notified of the automatic gratuity. I hope that the venue & the promoters are more transparent with their business practices in the future!?
google avatar

Justin H.

Yelp
I think the line up of comedians was amazing. They said tickets were 20$ online, but they didn't ask to see them at all. They sat us quickly and accommodated us for a booth. The service was quick and great. The food and drinks were lacking in every which way you could imagine. Very high priced (understandable considering it's entertainment) we got a giant mule and it tasted like there was no alcohol in it 70$. The truffle fries were okay, nothing special. I will say some of the other food looked pretty good such as the wings, but we didn't not get any for the table. They didn't hound us for 2 drink rule although I believe the giant mule was like 4 drinks. If I was the owner I would spruce up the drinks for the prices (the sangria said it had fruit chews, but it did not. This is a little detail, but it would make the experience better and worth the price)

Lisa A.

Yelp
The seating was horrible! The tables closest to the stage were too close together. How could they think this was ample space? Never again will I go there. Take a lesson from Stir Crazy Comedy Club.

Jill R.

Yelp
I mean, it's a comedy club. If you know you know. Chairs are uncomfortable. You're packed in like sardines. You have to twist your chair around to see the stage. Food and drinks are overpriced and not that special. But you're there for the comedy, and this is what you deal with. I will say I found all of the servers very friendly.

Josie G.

Yelp
Candice is awesome! Super friendly. Looking forward to to see the comedian special event!
google avatar

Ed F.

Yelp
Thought I'd give this hole another try w/ Chris Kattan headlining. Only change is their name from CB Live to Improv. Under-staffed rude service. Messed up food order. Ignored request for another appetizer. Two drink minimum. FOOD DOES NOT COUNT! Unless Saint Peter is admitting people to heaven @ Desert Ridge Improv. DONE WITH THIS LOUSY PLACE. Coke is $5. Water is $8. Domestic Draft is $8. Cocktails are $17+.
google avatar

Mz H.

Yelp
Worse comedy show I been to! Young man that sat us down was very nice. Waitress terrible. The set up of the place is perfect if they had a good comedian.

Patrick C.

Yelp
I went to the comedy show on Saturday, July 20 and the opening act, a female comedian, was terrible. I think her name was Sam something. She introduced herself as an LGBTQ non-binary person who had her tits cut off and hated men. Her jokes were not funny and she did not read the audience properly. No one was laughing. Sounded more like a propaganda commercial than a comedy act. The second and main comedian-Adam Conover, was much better and quite funny. His jokes landed. And he told good stories. My waiter forgot to bring me my first beer, and I had to remind him, but my beers were cold and tasty and I had a good view of the stage.

B B.

Yelp
We saw the Magic of Eric Eaton last night. What a fun time, and the place was packed. Very entertaining, and neat to see how the old Rock Bottom Brewery was re-designed. Drinks were a little pricey but worth it, and the have drinks that match the event. We thought they had an excellent staff/ and quick attentive services. We highly recommend this venue and we had a great time last night!

Dennis F.

Yelp
Pretty standard Comedy Club venue. Big bar, lots of seating, good service. Saw Chris Porter, who always delivers. Good night. Four issues: 1) The venue shares a wall with a music venue. The sound bleed really disrupted the performance. 2) When the comedy show wrapped you were directed to exit through the rear and through the music venue which had a show in progress. You literally walked in front of people trying to watch a band. No - fix it. 3) Comedians sell merch. Its really the only way they can make a respectable living as they work their way up to eventually fill a 2000+ seat venue or arena. There was no where setup to grab some merch to support the talent. The same would apply to the bands who sell a CD or two after every show. Fix it. 4) Expand the food and drink options. They should be an attraction in and of themselves - not an afterthought. All the pieces - done well - equal success. Easy fixes and it is a place worthy of Budd Friedman's legacy.

Courtney K.

Yelp
I was here on Friday for the Taylor Swift release drag show. I will preface this with I am very understanding as I have worked in the service industry for about decade and know what it's like to be busy and understaffed. I love to support local drag and the show was AMAZING but had a rough experience for a few reasons. First, the two drink minimum: fine, if the cocktails were not $23 each. I have never even paid that much at a craft cocktail bar for QUALITY drinks. Also, the drinks were inconsistent as they tasted completely different both times. Secondly, we were not greeted for at least 20 minutes had 4 different servers (not sure if this is standard due to tip pool but they had no communication with each other). They put in my drink order incorrectly once and forgot it twice, and I was ordering off the specialty drink menu so it should not have a difficult order. Then when they brought the check it was also completely incorrect the first time. The second time it was also incorrect but I think all the specialty cocktails were the same price so I just paid for it. I did not complain or ask for a manager but if it were me serving I would have asked the manager to at least comp or discount one of the drinks because of the multiple errors for one guest. It's unfortunate we probably won't be coming back because I love the themed drag nights and want to support our queens, but the venue/management needs to reevaluate TLDR; poor service likely due to being understaffed plus asinine drink prices.

Derek B.

Yelp
2 stars bc the drag brunches are always fun. We've been to 1/2 dozen drag brunches and once for a comedy show when it was CB Live. Nothing much has changed except the food and drinks are more expensive and the vip seating is worse. Expect $10 for a beer and $18+ for a mix drink and way overpriced food for what it is. Service has always sucked.

Yelp
Service was terrible and the management is even worse. Food was mediocre and takes forever to come out. Drinks take even longer, Clearly understaffed and don't know how to train their people.
