I recently dined at an incredible Indian fusion restaurant that offered a wide variety of dishes and drinks, blending traditional Indian flavors with modern twists. The menu was diverse, catering to both adventurous foodies and those seeking comfort classics. One standout dish was the Lamb Galauti. The drink menu also impressed, offering unique cocktails that paired beautifully with the food. If you're looking for a memorable fusion dining experience, I highly recommend this place.

Google
This place has some really good Indian food with modern plating style. The food tastes really good. The place was clean but very dim lights at night. The service here was not what was expected with food coming out very late and nobody to listen to the customers. The pricing is a little on the higher side compared to the quantity that they serve. The food was good, so I would recommend visiting this restaurant.

The food was so good. They have a wide variety of veg options. All the items we ordered were delicious. Rashi was our server and she had some good recommendations for us. Good customer service. Impossible curry is must try. We just loved it!!

Google
Contemporary Indian fusion restaurant with wide range of options to choose from . Highlight are the various appetizers which are really tasty and live up to the expectations . The main course is a more tamed down version of the dish . Desserts are well presented and have good options The cocktails and drinks have an Indian twist to them , some can definitely land on the sweeter side Overall a great experience, good presentation- wished the service was faster

I had the most incredible dining experience at Desi. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor was tastefully done, creating a cozy and elegant ambiance. But the real highlight was the food. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. I particularly loved the Paneer Bowl; it was unlike anything I've ever tasted, and I can't stop thinking about it. The service was outstanding as well. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the cuisine. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that we had a memorable evening. I also appreciate the attention to detail in the restaurant's commitment to sustainability and sourcing local ingredients. It's evident that they care about the quality of their food and the impact on the environment. Overall, Desi exceeded my expectations in every way. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. If you're looking for a top-notch dining experience, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try."

Google
Restaurant has nice ambiance and a great menu. Decor was very cool. Menu items are very promising. Lot of good reviews all over social media. Food is OK. It was very bland and missing the flavors on most of the items. Blackened chicken tacos was missing seasoning. Naanza was okay... Drinks felt very watered down. Staff was very overwhelmed tonight. I needed to wait for a long time to checkout and leave.

Google
They have great vegetarian options and the food is pretty good. The deconstructed samosas and paneer tikka masala are great but the portion sizes are pretty small for the price. Our naan was also very burnt. This is a casual sort of place but the service took way longer than it should. It took almost an hour between ordering and getting our food.

Google
Its a restaurant which wants to place like many new on the field with a fusion of Indian nd Cali concepts. Menu is interesting, while execution can be better. E.g we ordered curd rice poppers. Which came on base of hummas. Hummas taste was underwhelming, while poppers were flavorful. We ordered પાતળા greens and cheese. It was supposed to come with guac, which was missing, candied walnuts were listed, instead we got raw walnuts. Overall needs polishing on execution.

Yelp
My BFF and I went to this restaurant for the first time. Nice decor, friendly staff, and the food was yummy. I got the Blackened Chicken Bowl and my friend got the Chicken Masala. Everything was delicious, and I loved the Naan bread. The pickled relish salad was a bit too spicy (and I LOVE spicy food), but that was the only food complaint. The elevator music needs to be changed to Indian music, and the water should be served cold and should be poured by the server, not by us. We will be back.

Yelp
Christina greeted us and sat us before our reservation time. She gave us an option of indoor or outdoor seating. She was helpful and patient in menu suggestion of their popular menu items and explained some of the dishes we had questions on. We made our selection, were presented with our food from another helpful and friendly employee who brought out all our selections. The food was worth the 25 mile trip to get here. Everything we ordered had really good seasoning and most had a spicy flavor which I really liked. Mango drink was like a smoothie and it had a good flavor, tasted natural. Champagne had a peach flavor which was different but good, and the cute butterfly was a surprise which really gave it a nice presentation. Nan variety with the dipping sauce was flavorful and the cucumber one helped to cool down your taste buds. Gorditas were our favorite with the spicy flavor and heat, will definitely return just for these. Chicken platter was also good, it was a good balance with the chicken and salad with mango. Blackened chicken plater was also good with a good portion of vegetables to fill you. Chocolate lava cake with ice cream, cant go wrong with this dessert. The food was flavorful, well seasoned and loved that it had some heat. Christina thank you for making our dinning experience a good one. Will definitely return in the near future to dine with Desi again. I will also make sure to have a reservation to avoid any issues. I had to SUBTRACT 2 stars, one for Saturdays terrible service and one for having to drive 25 mile to return a second time.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants now! We went here around 5pm on a Saturday and there was no wait. The restaurant was a bit empty at that time. Anyways, we got a lot of items since it was our first time here. We ordered the Mango Tango Lassi, Nukkadwala (lime), Kulcha Chalupa Taco, Samosa Trilogy, Delhi Belly, Desi Sliders w/ Fries, Naan (Garlic), Naan (Butter), and the Rasmalai & Gajar Halwa Sandwich dessert. Of the items we ordered, my favorites were both the naan breads, samosa, and the fries! Those small bites were so addicting and crispy. Everything else was good too and stuffed with meat! You can also request for a lower spice level if you can't handle spicy food, which was a great option for me. I'd recommend this place! I love he variety of foods they have here. Having the option to request for a lower spice level is important to me, so I'm glad they do that!

Yelp
Interesting twist of Indian food with western style presentation. We ordered a couple of things: Chalupa tacos with chickpea - loved it! Amazing flavors and very well cooked. Cocktails - Absolute Desi amid Old fashioned - beautiful cocktails with balanced flavors. I found it odd that I couldn't order the aloo kulcha separately, as it's listed as a side dish for big plates. The big plates already include bread, and you can't substitute it. Despite this, we ordered the aloo kulcha tandoori, but it lacked filling and was not cooked properly too. Thankfully, our server Sandeep kindly brought us a grilled aloo kulcha, which was better than the original. All in all, o would like to visit here again to try our more cocktails and dishes.

Yelp
Everything was so delcious, my favorite is the Coastal Grilled Fish Bowl. Their sea bass just falls apart and melts in your mouth. It was so good with the coconut curry. We also had to get dessert, my dad wanted to try the Gulabjamun Crème Brulee. It was too sweet for me but my dad enjoyed it! What I Ordered: - Coastal Grilled Fish Bowl - Desi Chicken Bowl - Gabru Samosa Chat - Gulabjamun Crème Brulee - Desi Cappuccino

Yelp
This was my time having contemporary Indian cuisine. I thought it was pretty good. Interior was spacious and beautiful. What I ordered: Tikka chance on me (paneer) -- this was like a cheesy toast with melty cheese & paneer. Great appetizer to start with. Kulcha calupa taco (butter chicken) -- smelled and tasted so good! All the flavors worked well & it was served in naan instead of tortilla. Everything held up nicely. Chicken tikka masala with naan -- wow extremely flavorful. Highly recommend this dish! Warm naan and chicken tikka is *chefs kiss. Desi paneer bowl -- 3 big paneer cubes. Generous portions & served with rice & salad. I thought this was alright. I prefer the smaller paneers. Gol gappe (potato, mint, tamarind, pineapple) -- ordered it for the experience. Poke a hole & pour the liquid into the puff balls. Interesting experience. Not sure if it's for me tho. Mango tango lassi -- a must! thick mango smoothie. Desi chai muska pao -- with fresh, warm soft brioche bread. My friend needed to add more sugar to it. Service was nice and attentive. I would come again if I was craving Indian food or if I wanted the first 3 items mentioned + mango tango lassi!

Yelp
We came here as a family to celebrate Valentine's Day. I had been wanting to try this place for awhile! They had a lot of nice decorations and festive activities: raffle and free champagne I liked the lounge-type ambiance and the service was surprisingly good. Compared to other Indian restaurants in San Jose, the food was a little bland. Nevertheless, I really liked their version of Fish and Chips and the Coastal Fish Bowl was solid overall. The drinks were also very tasty! I got the Palota Twist and my husband got the Old Fashioned. I would recommend for a date, happy hour, or girls' night out!

Yelp
I was skeptical of trying out this restaurant since it had 3.5 stars. However after dining here and trying quite a few dishes I believe it deserves 4 stars at least. Quick Bites: The kulcha chalupa tacos and desi sliders were delicious, but I personally liked the kulcha chalupa more. The kulcha was soft, the filling of the chicken inside the taco was spicy and flavorful. I would love the chicken filling as a dish of its own, it was that delish. The desi sliders came with a side of fries. Street Eats: The Desi Tandoori Kukkad was cooked well, the chicken was moist and flavorful. Big Plate: The chicken tikka bowl was spicy, scrumptious and left me wanting for more. Their naan was fresh and soft. All in all, I really liked the spices used by them, leaving the mouth full of flavors. Their chicken was cooked well in the dishes. The staff was very polite and asked us if we were happy with the meal. I came here on a weeknight and it was quite empty. I would say it was only 25% occupied to its capacity. I did not try any of the cocktails but their menu sounds interesting.

Yelp
An extensive menu off the main Campbell strip - so there's plenty of parking in the lot outside. We ordered - gabru samosa chat 4.5/5: classic tangy flavors - paneer naanza 4/5: a naan pizza with spiced paneer. Interesting fusion flavors, tasted better cold the next day. Generous serving, very filling - lamb galouti 3/5: Meh, overpriced - guji empanada 5/5: incredible earthy mushroom flavor - desi connection cocktail 2/5: extremely flat and one note, tasted like watered down meszcal - totaa cocktail 4/5: interesting blend if lemon and sage , very stiff - gulab jamun creme brulee 5/5: way better than a regular crème brulee with delicate flavors of saffron, cardamom, and syrup. Overall, I was really excited about the variety of flavor options but I would probably only come back for the crème brûlée, which was heavenly!

Yelp
One thing that really caught my eye was the beautiful presentation of the food here! So vibrant! I tried many dishes from here, but my favorite was definitely the Chicken Tikka Masala! Served piping hot and full of flavor, with a side of naan (we chose garlic). The Kathi rolls were enjoyable too; they were generous with the chicken but I wish they added less bell peppers as it was slightly overpowering. The fries were crispy perfection! My favorite of the Delhi Belly Board was the "tikka chance one me," which was essentially a baguette topped with cheesy chicken tikka bites and onion. Bread and Dips Sampler was nothing amazing, but it was fun sampling the different breads and side dips. As for drinks, I tried the Mango Tango Lassi, which had a strong yogurt flavor with a hint of spice. It could use a bit more mango flavor, but the spice was very unique. Servers were very kind, but the food does take awhile to come out. Prices here are pretty steep but you will definitely leave full!

Yelp
I'm really surprised that more people don't know about this place! What worked: - The interior is gorgeous--perfect for a date night or a celebration with friends and family. - the staff were so attentive and friendly, I felt really comfortable and taken care of - there were a lot of exciting non-alcoholic drinks. I ordered a saffron spiced sweet milk (can't remember the name) and it was enjoyable and very unique - there were plenty of vegetarian options - prices were reasonable What didn't work: - I felt like the food could have been a touch more flavorful. I ordered the chicken plate and I wished that the meat itself had been more spiced and seasoned and that the sauce it came with wasn't quite so sweet Overall, this is a great spot and so close to downtown Campbell without all the noise and parking difficulty.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but there are several things not working well. I hope the management can address these issues and turn this place around. Because if they do, they'll have a winner - great location, beautiful decor, great concept coupled with amazing food, drinks and experiences. As of now, they aren't executing the vision. My feedback: Food: the paneer tart pastry shell was severely undercooked. The lamb galouti flavor was great but the picture showed it would be served with chutney, which would definitely have elevated the dish. Every dish lacked salt but particularly the Chicken tikka masala and curd rice balls. Beverage: they were out of stock on all tap beers and the cocktails we wanted. Whatever cocktails we ended up having were not tasty or well balanced. Simplify your offered cocktails and execute those very well rather than offering loads of mediocre beverages Ambiance: the place was freezing inside. None of the patrons took off their outerwear jackets. Even the waitress was wearing a parka indoors. Please switch on the heating indoors during the few weeks of winter we have The chairs screech horribly against their floors causing an awful sound every time someone adjusts their chairs. It's unbearable. They should invest in furniture pads or silicone chair leg covers. Service: friendly and well meaning serving staff. Overall, I urge the owners to improve these issues to become the #1 Indian spot in Campbell. They certainly have the potential. All the best.

Yelp
Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. The service is great, the food is great and it's so clean inside! I came here for dinner Saturday and was able to find parking pretty easily for free. We ordered the chai and mango lassi which were pretty good. Got some samosa ( chicken, lamb and potato) these were really good! The red sauce that it came with was delicious. The butter chicken tacos were my favorite. So refreshing and flavorful. Garlic naan can't go wrong, crispy and super garlicky which is my fave. The blacken salmon bowl was really good. The salmon was cooked perfectly so it was soft and not dry at all. Highly recommend this place for a date night or out with some friends

Yelp
What a hidden gem in downtown Campbell! Desi definitely satisfies both your vision & taste with all of their unique dishes. - Gol Gappe - flavor water bomb: we started with this dish and it was such a fun experience. You have to dig a hole in the balls, put potato and eventually pour the flavor water inside. Our favorite was definitely the pineapple. - Kulcha Chalupa Taco: this is the butter chicken taco using naan instead of tortillas. They were so good and the portion is the steal for the price. - Delhi Belly: a platter of Desi tandoori kukkad. It is a good drinking food! - Chicken Tikka Masala & Naan: my favorite of the meal! The chicken was so flavorful and they give you a lot too! Strongly recommend you order it when you're here. Don't forget to order yourself a Mango Lassi with the meal. Parking is convenient and you have options for both outside & inside seating.

Yelp
I love the idea of Indian fusion, so was excited to try this spot. The interior was cute with some fun decor and mural painting on the walls. However, the food and service was really disappointing from start to finish. I ordered a soda water with lime. Dining partners drinks (chai, beer - both enjoyable) arrived but not mine. I asked again for the water and finally got it, no lime. Then after asking again, I got a lemon. We ordered the gol gappe to start. Puris were stale. Filling consisted only of spiced potatoes (no black chana, no onion, nothing). The 3 panis were decent, and I liked the one that seemed like pineapple (no explanation of flavors given on the menu or by the wait staff). One dining partner got the pepper chicken and parantha. She asked for it spicy, but said it was bland. The parantha was dried out and hard, seemed like it had just been microwaved (poorly). She mentioned this to the waiter, who did not seem to care. The other dining partner got the samosa chaat and the verde cutlets. Samosa chaat was maybe the best thing we tried. Verde cutlets were flavorless and undercooked/raw inside. Unclear what the pink dots were on the plate. I got the kulcha chalupa taco with pindi chole. The filling was actually pretty flavorful and there were even some onions and chilis on top. However, there was no kulcha. The taco shell was made of a pre-packaged naan (you can see the manufactured holes in it in the picture) that lacked flavor and freshness. For obvious reasons, we didn't get the dessert we had been eyeing at the beginning of our meal. The food had such promise of creativity, but unfortunately the actual cooking (of premade things) didn't live up to the hype.

Yelp
Food is whatever, but this place is egregious. If you pay using their preferred method then your phone number ends up in their database and they will randomly call and text you asking if you need catering services. I ate at your mid restaurant 3 years ago and have not been back since. Why are you contacting me out of the blue? Just absolutely unforgivable. Who knows what else they are doing with your info. Lose my number. Stop harassing people.

Yelp
Indian flavors but not Indian food. In short the positives about this place is the chicken tikka masala and our server, Gabriel, that made up for an experience that was not going well. Some issues that came up include being served a craft of water with some pieces of floating scum/debris. Not being able to find our first server for periods of time. And the Tandoori Kukkad which looked nothing like the pictures! The chicken was squishy, and was obviously not marinated but smothered in a paste of spices after cooking. We waited a total of 30 minutes for the rest of our food, the chicken tikka masala and side of rice. Important to note that there were only about 3 other tables in the restaurant. The rice was cold. The server, Gabriel, that took over after not being able to find ours was very helpful and checked on us regularly. He apologized for the dish not being what we expected as well as offered us a complimentary plate, the verde cutlet. Again, his service and the chicken tikka masala were the only positives for me.

Yelp
Found a casual, contemporary Indian Restaurant serving up street eats with global inspirations. Food was flavorful and cocktails were strong. You'll want to take your lactaid though lol, as butter is a main ingredient in majority of the dishes.  * Street Eats: Punjab to California Via London, Lamb Galuti, & Old Monk Chicken Wings * Quick Bites: Butter Chicken Kulcha Chalupa Tacos * Big Plates: Chicken Tikka Masala & Naan * Cocktails: Pehla Nasha & 100 Degree Celsius

Yelp
Takeout Order: 5/10 Desi Chicken Bowl $18 - disappointing meal. Comes with a lot of rice and only about 3-4oz of chicken. At least chicken was not dry but I recommend getting extra meat from home to eat with. The sauce lacked flavor and felt kind of like a pasta sauce. Brussel sprouts and veggies were good. Would not pay $18 for this meal.

Yelp
Its permanently closed and the service wasn't good. The food was not consistent. I hope an American Chain restaurant opens in its place.

Yelp
First off, the drinks were really refreshing! We got the mint mojito with 2 different flavors and both were very good. The punjab to California was delicious and great portion to share for 2. The galauti was unique and different. If you like lamb, I would recommend. The chicken salad was different and good too! Overall, I think this is a good place if you want to taste some Indian food, but with some fusion twist to it.

Yelp
I've been riding the Modern Indian cuisine wave for a while now and was hoping to at Desi to the roster of my favorites. But unfortunately that won't be happening. Here's why: 1) Horrible customer service by the hostess. -We walk in and waited at least 3 minutes until she showed up at the hostess desk. Note she wasn't busy in the front (there was one other table seated and a girl working the bar (who by the way was great)! -After she checked us in, she proceeded to move a table in front of one of the doors. We asked her if we could get one of the other tables, she said no. Ok... -It's freezing in this place and we ask if she could close the door. She said she can't until she "turns the lights on outside." Keep in mind she is talking about the holiday lights that should have been on when they opened 20 min ago. We are sitting there freezing for another 30 min until she finally turns them on. We still don't understand WHY the door needed to be open this entire time to plug in the lights.Zero logic, zero consideration for the customers well being. 2)The drinks were just ok -The Patiala Old Fashioned (3/5) felt very watered down. The date was a nice touch, but the maraschino cherries (listed on the menu) were not there. -The Hacker (1.5/5)sounded great on paper, but I am not sure what the hell we got. It was supposed to be bourbon, but it didn't look or taste like whiskey at all. The marshmallow was not burnt enough, and the advertised bourbon cookie was nowhere to be found. 3)Food is not great and overpriced Because we were freezing and were annoyed, we decided to get a few small bites and bounce. We got: -Breads and dips sampler: for $18, you get essentially 3 pieces of bread (cut in half) and 4 dips. The dips were great, but the bread to dip ration was unbalanced (needed way more bread). Additionally, one of the breads was completely inedible. It was dry, dense...not good at all. So this wasn't money well spent. Would not get it again. -Garlic Pepper Prawn Stay: I've never had such rubbery shrimp. They were so overcooked that you could barely chew them. It was so bad I didn't finish them. But the veggies on the plate that were garnishes, were fantastic. At least something edible on the plate... We ended going down the street to Distrito Federal and they saved the night (amazing food, drinks and service). I hope the owners take a moment to read through this review and make some changes. This place has potential, but needs work all around.

Yelp
Craving Indian food, there are so many choices in the Santa Clara area. Deciding on Desi, I wasn't sure what to expect as they advertise "contemporary " in their name and I'm more of a traditionalist. The food was fantastic! Everything prepared fresh with high qaulity ingredients, colorful veggies, and plated artistically. while you eat with your eyes first, what matters most is the taste and everything we tried was full of flavor from a myriad of spices that come together harmoniously. You can customize the heat because all of us have a different perspective of what spicy means. Lots of fun "mashups" like Kikcha Chaluoa Tacos - highly recommend - and Tikka Bruschetta. What? It works. In addition to various small bites and strrpeet food, you can get larger meals. Try their inventive take on bowls. I love the Saag Paneer bowl, so yummy and filling. Bummed that I no longer have biweekly business trips to this area. Don't miss the job, but miss this Indian restaurant!

Yelp
FOOD: - Delhi Belly: Great variety. The fries were well-seasoned and a perfect crisp! The Desi Tandoori Kukkad was flavorful, but quite dry. The Punjab to California via London had a nice crisp and I loved the thinness of the fish. The Kalmi Chicken Kabab was also very good--a bit too much cheese for us, but still very good. 4/5. - Tashan: Very cute bite size food! The Desi Paneer Bhurji Tarts were a light delicate snack, which was my fav of the 3! The Verde Cutlet had an almost potato-like texture with a nice flavor, but it does have a small spice kick to it. The Curd Rice Poppers had a bready texture, which my boyfriend liked. 4/5. - Mango Tango Lassi: Nice mango flavor, but it was too thick where it was a bit hard to drink. It also tasted more like Greek yogurt than normal yogurt. 2.5/5. SERVICE: Overall, great service! Our main waiter was very nice and attentive. We also met the manger who was very sweet. PARKING: It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking space, so you should have no issue!

Yelp
Went for a weekend dinner after reserving through Yelp. The place has got ample parking right in front. Got seated right away, and not at all crowded for a weekend. They have outdoor seating as well. The place has a cozy and dark ambience and is a great dinner place for a quiet get together. They do have a bar with great options. We ordered the Tashan, Blackened Chicken Tikka bowl, Dos bros tacos with amritsari fish, lamb galauti and rasmalai gajar halwa sandwich for dessert. Took a while for the order to come, and we had to wait a bit. Tashan (5/5) comes under flight of 3 vegetarian quick bites and it had the paneer tart, verde cutlet and curd rice poppers, 4 pieces each. The flavors aren't strong but I loved the texture and the uniqueness. The paneer burji was small and not much to say. Verde cutlet was really good and curd rice popper seemed like eating fried curd rice with a bit of pickle. Blackened chicken tikka bowl (4/5) was also good. The saffron rice, chicken, salsa, veggies and pickle was all yum! Dos bros tacos (4/5) was filled with Amritsar fish in thin roti. There were three pieces and lots of filling. I loved the flavor of the fish, and there were other options like chicken, paneer and pulled jackfruit. Lamb galauti (5/5) was an unexpected addition to our order and what a superb dish it is! The lamb melt patty was rich, but again the flavor was not that high. But the patty along with the cream and pickles and the mini naan was a great treat! There were 3 pieces in one order. Finished the dinner with the rasmalai gajar halwa sandwich (3/5). The saffron milk in which the rasmalai was dipped was the highlight. Gajar halwa was a tiny bit and you really can't taste it in the rasmalai. So overall I gave five for the ambience and uniqueness and because I feel like going again later. Don't expect the heavy flavor like other Indian restaurants, but it has a unique touch.

Yelp
Tried eating here for the first time. We loved their tikka chance on me, Kulcha chalupa, & pepper chicken parantha. We got our food immediately and service was great! They also have a bar. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Very fun choice of food and drinks, and was delicious across the board. Service was extremely slow even though the place wasn't super crowded or anything as it was a weekday. But it didnt bother us as much as the food was worth the wait. Great spot for a dinner with friends/ girls night out. Generally fun and casual ambience, yet felt upscale as teh place is very well done and dishes nicely plated. I tried several small plates and listing a few of my top picks below GUJIA EMPANADA TASHAN (Combo of cutlets, Bhurji and poppers) DESI SLIDERS DOS BROS TACOS/ KULCHA CHALUPA TACO

Yelp
The spread: - Gol gappe - Kathi rolls with salad - Punjab to California via London - Desi Paneer Bowl - Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan The drinks: - Mango tango lassi - Gur Nalo Ishq Mitha This spot is a good $$ spot to check out. My top favorite meals are Kathi rolls with salad, Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan, and the Punjab to California via London. If you're looking to have a buzzed time, I wouldn't recommend the Gur Nalo Ishq Mitha because it was too strong for me. One of the ingredients mentioned club soda but it was never fizzy at all. I only had a few sips before I decided to give up on it. For it being an average of 3.5/5 on Yelp, I can also vouch my experience is the same. While the service wasn't slacking at all and the food took an average amount of time to come out (it comes out piping hot too!), I am more genuinely concerned about their cleanliness with the utensils and cups. I love eating and all but I also value first impressions with hygiene! This is more geared towards the moment I received the water, which comes with cups and a bottle for you to pour in. The water tasted funny and I looked down at the bottom of my cup and there was lint in there. I started to become more observant of how the staff was wiping their plates and utensils. To my surprise, I saw they used a towel to wipe it dry. I do have to say some plates had the lint from the towel and some didn't. After seeing that, I knew there was not point to ask for replacement plates and cups because they were wiping it with a towel. I literally stopped drinking my water and ate from the plates they served from because who else would want lint on their food?

Yelp
Overhyped indian restaurant. We tried various chaats & it lacked basic flavors. i would say restaurant is spending more on advertising on various social media platforms rather than bring originality.

Yelp
* Disclaimer: I dined here using a coupon that gave me a free burger, tacos, etc with a purchase of an entree AND we used 2 yelp checkins to get free drinks. So the total was around $20 + tip, vs the $20 + $20 + $8 + $8 + tip for 2 people. For $20 this was 5 stars. Without the coupon I'd have to ask myself if I'll pay $20 for a portion of butter chicken. I always judge the quality of an Indian restaurant based on their butter chicken. Desi delivered with tandoori oven baked chicken with a perfectly charred exterior, inside a sweet and creamy curry served with flaky delicious naan. Drinks were pungent and flavorful. Recommending the saffron drink (milk and spices) but perfect if you're going to get a spicy meal to cool yourself off. They also have a pretty extensive wine and draft bar that I wouldn't mind having a birthday dinner, even pregame for Campbell bars during their happy hour. Well decorated interior, made me wish I tried this place sooner.

Yelp
First impression: this spot has a great interior and vibe and a really unique menu. I'm not able to tell if it's super expensive($7 for a cappucino!?) or if this is just what inflation is doing to restaurants. Either way, with a few yelp coupons we ordered butter chicken tacos, two drinks, and a burger for $20 before tip(usually it would be around $50). The drinks were nothing special, I had the saffron drink which was basically cold milk and spices. It was pretty good, the spices came through nicely but it was a little too sweet and rich for me to finish. The iced coffee was just a $7 iced coffee. I had the veggie burger with fries. I wasn't expecting much since there were so many 1 star reviews, so I was happily surprised to find the quinoa patty was really flavorful and there were fresh cukes, onions and jalapenos piled on with a cold yogurt sauce. The fries were tasty and crispy too. The bun was a little disappointing and subtracted from the presentation, it appears to just be straight out of a bag. The overall presentation was beautiful and it was a nice experience. The service was okay but nothing special.

Yelp
Desi is sort of an upscale Indian street food restaurant with a cool contemporary vibe. Being as such they have unique and eye catching drinks as well. They have a sexy fire pit outside and had live music outside as well that you can hear inside or out. I like the contemporary vibe they attempted. I'm not sure if they carried a complete theme through with the concept...from wooden barrels to velvety looking chairs to the cartoony drawings on the wall. Or maybe I'm just not hip to this trend. We got a sangria flight which was a little surprising to see on the menu. They tasted good but you don't really taste any alcohol. I also got the "Desi" which was really good. The Breads and Dips sampler was good. The breads had a unique texture not quite like nan or roti. We got the samosa trio. The samosas were a bit smaller than expected. I liked the potato and the lamb but not so much the chicken. This was my first time seeing chicken samosas. I liked the Gabru Samosa chat. It's sort of like a deconstructed potato samosa topped with peas, topped with sauces (chutney, masala, turnip salsa). We also got the kadai chicken. I've never seen this before either only kadai paneer which I love. I guess they want to cater to the meat lovers too. The sauce was good..the chicken could've been a little more tender. Overall I'd come back for the drinks, the contemporary feel and the unique menu items.

Yelp
My sister and I have tried a lot of Campbell spots! Bored with our usual go-to's, we checked out Desi. What a pleasant surprise! We were warmly greated by our mixologist, Gabriel. He recommended the delicious appetizer, the Verdi Cutlet. I would not have selected this but it was as delicious! And artfully placed. We also enjoyed the Chicken Masala. The wine was wonderful as were the cocktails. We enjoyed meeting the staff and look forward to dining at Desi again! Thank you for a memorable meal.

Yelp
I'm always skeptical of modern contemporary ethnic foods because they seem to take away from the authenticity but Desi preserved the authenticity of the flavors while creating a work of art!!! Think childhood Indian nostalgia meets modern contemporary Desi food, doesn't that sound like a match made in heaven???!!! Tried their drinks - royal ginfield and mc Sher. Both were STRONG!! Despite the drinks being strong, you tasted all the ingredients which was incredible. Loved the saffron in the MC Sher, it was such a nice touch to a classic whiskey sour. The royal ginfield was incredible as well!! The amla juice and jaggery syrup brought sweet and tart notes to the drink. Now onto the food: started off with the tikka chance on me. The chicken tikka was super flavorful and the chicken was not dry. It was really delicious on top of the bruschetta and loved that the bread was so buttery. Next tried the Tashan. The cutlets were flavorful, but wish it was paired with a yogurt sauce to balance the slight dryness. It is vegan though. The paneer tarts were super cute and flavorful! My absolute favorite were the curd rice poppers though. They managed to create heaven in a bite bc it captured all the flavors of curd rice from the curd rice itself to the pickle and crunchy topping which I assume was supposed to be like papad. ANDDDD it managed to stay crispy outside!!! I was shook! Then we tried the butter chicken tacos. Don't knock it til you try to bc the butter chicken and guacamole really worked!! Lastly we got the paneer tikka. It was really flavorful paneer and went well with the savory mint chutney. Finished up the meal with the gulab jamun crème brûlée. This is what dreams are made of right here people!!! The bouncyness of the gulab jamun went well with the creamy crème brûlée. Wish the top was torched and crispy but flavors and textures were still amazing!!! Service was a little slow despite not being too busy for a Friday but everyone was super nice!! This place has such a great atmosphere, more pricey but so worth it especially for celebratory occasions. Definitely check out Desi!!!

Yelp
I recently tried Desi Contemporary Indian Cuisine for the first time. The restaurant has an incredibly artistic, contemporary vibe as compared to most Indian restaurants. The service was good but quite slow. We ended up waiting quite a while for both our drinks and food. We ordered the following drinks: 1. Gabru (2/5) - The edible paper and tones of saffron in the drink was quite interesting for us! Otherwise, the drink was pretty lackluster. 2. Gur Nalo Ishq Mitha (4/5) - I mostly ordered the drink because I liked the name of it. It was surprisedly good though! I didn't expect to like the cantaloupe flavor as much as I did! 3. Desi Cold Coffee (4/5) - Their take on the drink was creative and playful, but it still had the flavors and comfort of the original drink. 4. Saffron Thandai (4/5) - This was my first time trying Thandai. This drink was comforting, warm, and tasty! For appetizers, we ordered the Verde Cutlet and Basil Paneer Tikka. The presentation of the dishes was truly immaculate! The Basil Paneer Tikka (5/5) was beautifully seasoned and charred and paired with flavorful chutneys. The salad on the side of the plate was very well dressed and added a nice element of freshness to the plate! The Verde Cutlet (3/5) was average. The pairing with hummus made the dish feel a bit too heavy and added little complexity to the dish. The pink chutney had a light, indistinct flavor that didn't do much for the dish. We ordered the following main courses: 1. Desi Paneer Bowl (5/5) - This was by far the best dish we had here! The paneer was beautifully seasoned and charred and paired with a light, aromatic sauce over a bed of yellow rice. The salad offered a light, freshness to the dish. The tandoori vegetables were quite spicy and tasty! Overall, I would definitely recommend this dish! 2. Aloo Ghobi & Parantha (2/5) - While the Parantha was average, the Aloo Ghobi was lackluster. It was under-seasoned and quite underwhelming. I would definitely recommend avoiding this dish. 3. Dal Makhani Sourdough Naan (2/5) - We were really excited to try Sourdough Naan, but it honestly didn't taste any different than you average plain naan. The dal makhani was overly creamy, poorly seasoned, and pretty bland. Overall, the dish was quite disappointing and did not live up to our expectations. If you are looking for reliably good Indian food, I would recommend not going to this restaurant or really researching your order before going to this restaurant.

Yelp
I ordered online using Uber Eats twice, and both times, one of the items had issues. Today, I ordered dal makhani and a Paneer Tikka bowl, and the rice was stale, and the naan was half-cooked. Last time, I ordered a paneer kathi roll, and it was too oily and didn't taste good at all. In my opinion, the elevated prices they charge for their entrees and starters don't match with consumer satisfaction. In a competitive landscape like food, I am unsure what they trying to do by charging crazy high prices and offering sub-par Indian food. If you are a vegetarian, be prepared for disappointment if you plan to order food on Uber Eats or DoorDash, I can't comment on in-person dining experience.

Yelp
First time trying and enjoyed the place! Service was great, place was clean, and around 5:30-6pm on a Friday it was a nice quiet escape from the hustle of downtown. Staff extremely friendly toward newcomers, helping to explain menu items. We plan to come back to try other items off the menu. Really enjoyed the non-alcoholic refresher drinks!

Yelp
While the restaurants interior is nice, I cannot say the same for the service. While I waited for my to-go order, I was not greeted by the host or anyone until about ten minutes after my arrival. I was told it would take fifteen minutes, which turned into about thirty. During those thirty minutes the host and cooks in the back argued rather loudly, shouting obscenities. We can hear you from the waiting area, by the way...

Yelp
A must try Indian-Fusion with appealing ambiance! Came across this place last week and we immediately went to try this one due to their appealing desi name "Gabru bar" We went for lunch, so did not try their drinks menu but it looked very inviting. We started with some of their popular veg appetizers and platter option as per their manager's recommendation. Their paneer and Verde Cutlet were my most favorite dishes amongst all that we ordered. Their Chalupa Taco was very interesting and their pindi chole as a stuffing was on POINT !!!!!!! Their veggie bowls looked very appealing, however we were full with trying their different small platters and appetizers. Dessert menu was very interesting and we ordered their Gulab Jamun Crème Brule, but they were out of it so we tried their Rasmali Gajab Halvo sandwich with Saffron Milk. I would go back to try their Gulab Jamun Crème Brule once as that combination sounds really interesting to me! Plan a friends night soon at this place!

Yelp
The food was good but the best part about my dining experience was the incredibly personable young waiter named Nigel! He was super friendly and attentive and he would be the reason I would go back there and bring friends!

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. Staff is fantastic. I started at the bar with a fabulous drink the Pehla Nasha, later followed by the Patola twist, which was equally delicious. None of our dishes disappointed. Our table shared the basil paneer and the butter chicken tacos. Main courses included chicken tikki masala, paneer tikki masala and butter chicken. We tried both the saffron rice and the crispy spinach rice. Casual and not too loud. Great place. We highly recommend.

Yelp
I had dinner here on 2/18/2022. Food was great the prantha, lamb vandaloo, chicken curry, and the trio appetizer. Everything was really good. The food and the sauces was really yummy. The people are nice although one of the servers kept bumping my chair which was very uncomfortable, the establishment looked clean and the restroom was clean too. I'll add the restaurant picture if I ever go back. It was a good dinner.

Yelp
I was here with one of my friends to meet and catch-up before the holiday started. Also a birthday dinner for me. We chose this place as we heard about it but never tried it. It's a small place but has a set up of a big restaurant. It has a separate bar section as well. They have some desi, Bollywood style with Punjabi flavor of art on the wall and some unique displays in the show case. The ambience is set up for a romantic dinner style with dim lights. We tried ordering mostly from their quick bite section and one dish from the main course section. The dishes have some unique yet funny naming but one can see how things are a fusion mix for Desi and Western style. I didn't feel very unique but the food was okay. We tried to order the kalakatta drink but it was not available.. few other drinks and food items we looked for but that was not available, so it was disappointing as we had to rely on their suggestions based on the availability of the dishes. I'm not sure if I will go back to this place but it's good to try one time. They need to do more to get things available based on what's displayed on the menu. The service is great. They do have a happy hour from 4-6 pm so if you make it to that time you will get drinks with one appetizer free.
