Food, service, location 5/5 a must must must try Indian cuisine in the heart of the city. It’s home away from home flavours.

Google
the service was very friendly and the waitresses spoke great english. Mango lassi was creamy and one of my favorites that i've tried by far, also palak paneer from thali veg blew my mind. Another great thing from what we got was the poulet tikka w almonds, the chicken was buttery and overall great. From desserts the best was the cheesecake, which is also my favorite thing we ordered. On the other hand the naans were just ok (my sister liked them tho so it's subjective) and the assortiments de curries from thali veg wasn't my cup of tea only because I'm used to chicken korma or tikka masala etc which are always served very warm and have more defined flavor (they weren't on the menu), but I'm sure some people love it. We went on saturday and at 8 the place was pretty crowded but everyone could be seated just fine wo a reservation. Also the atmosphere was cosy and the presentation of the dishes was super cute, a specially the different designs on each mango lassi, and i think it shows the great care that goes into the preparation of the food in desi road

The food was really good. Indeed adapted to the European taste but without loosing flavour authenticity. We had veg and non veg thali. The price might sound a little expensive but the food, service, ambience all together, it us worth. I would be happy if there was chicken biryani but I might go there again to try crevette biryani. Well, i would definitely recommend thus restaurant.

Desi Road is a delightful culinary journey that captures the essence of South Asian street food. The vibrant atmosphere, paired with the aromas of spices and freshly prepared dishes, creates an inviting experience. From savory samosas to flavorful biryanis and mouthwatering kebabs, the menu is a feast for the senses.

Overall, my experience was a mixed bag. We ordered chicken and mutton thal. The presentation was excellent. The taste was OKish. It wasn't smooth, creamy taste on the tongue. Definitely too expensive for a thal for 28€ without desert. OK to try out once. The staff was nice though.

Had a great dinner here a few weeks ago. Staff was friendly and prompt. Food was well presented and tasty. I enjoyed the drink menu as well, having a few options and it was made right infront of me at the bar. Was a busy restaurant during dinner but it was moving fast.

Great atmosphere, attentive servers. Aloo Tikki Chat was served cold, tasted meh. Paneer Tikka was barely seasoned and topped off with a green chutney. Prices are a ripoff at the portion sizes you can see in the photos. I won’t recommend this Indian restaurant for anyone looking for authentic Indian food. Update: any person who says Aloo Tikki Chaat is served at room temperature has never had one in India. It’s served piping hot. It all comes together why the dishes never tasted authentic because the Chef never had the experience tasting those in India.

The place has amazing food but the best part is their staff. It was my birthday, the staff made it my best ever birthday in France Thank you Rajni and team. The manager is so bubbly and full of life, she was making everyone feel so comfortable. Definitely coming back! Thank you for delicious food and this wonderful & unforgettable experience. ❤️😊 It's the best Indian restaurant in Paris.

Yelp
Had 30 mins for a quick meal before a dash to the airport. Desi Road caught my attention and decided to give it a try. Had the lunch chicken thali. Great food, great service and nice ambiance. Would recommend all to visit.

Yelp
So we stumbled upon here one day as we were walking around. Strolled into such a cute little Indian restaurant with an old Bollywood playlist. We sat up front by the window to people watch but in return more people watched us eat! Ha Ha ! I think we brought in the crowd after us! We order the chicken Thaali (12/10) so delish! Included the following: - Rice - Roti - Raita (yogurt) - Kachumar (mixed salad) - Chicken Tikka - Chicken Meatball - Brown Lentils - Chickpeas Plenty for two people! But we also ordered Chicken Tikka on the side with garlic naan (10/10) Everything was delicious! Not as spicy so perfect for tourist but if you would like spicy ask for "spicy pickles"! Def go and enjoy a Thaali!

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening in mid-November 2022 with a friend who had been here a few times before and loved it. We made reservations earlier that day and were able to get a spot for 9:30 PM. The restaurant was unsurprisingly very busy when we arrived, but we had a few options for seating either downstairs or in the upstairs dining area. We chose the upstairs, but overall the restaurant was very cozy and nicely decorated on both levels. My friend and I shared an aloo tiki chaat appetizer and garlic naan. We each ordered a thali platter--her the chicken, I the vegetarian--as well as a mango lassi. The server asked us if we were okay with everything coming out at once, which we were. I really enjoyed everything we ordered. It was really great having a little bit of everything--yogurt, daal, curry, chutney, rice, etc.--in a platter. I loved the garlic naan because I'm obsessed with carbs, but honestly it was almost superfluous since the platter comes with two pieces of chapati bread already. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and came out pretty quickly. The lassi was very tasty, thick and cold, and largely satisfied us so that we didn't need to get dessert in the end. The service was friendly and efficient and we had a really lovely meal. We were there until around 11 PM and honestly the staff did not really rush to kick us out which was nice. Our total meal was a little over 40€ a person, a bit expensive but we were pleased with the quality. American Express accepted. The restaurant is located a few steps from Pont Neuf, where you have spectacular views of the Seine. A great place for Indian food in the center of Paris!

Yelp
Wanted to love the place but something was left wishing for.. Food was fresh but tasted nothing out of the ordinary. Attentive service and gracious host. Even gave us an Ipad to lookup pictures of the thalis. Misses for us were: 1. Non veg thali: Chicken was cooked tender but lacked flavor. It was just strangely spicy. Also there was no other non veg item in the thali other than the curry. 2. Veg Thali: Palak Paneer has too much fried paneer (never thought I would have to say this). 3. The chunda (sweet pickle) was put right in the middle of the entire thali. Not everyone would be fans of the chunda flavor or want it mixed with their rice and roti. 4. The restaurant had small flies flying around which was unpleasant. 5. Found the price point a bit difficult to justify.

Yelp
Wow!!! Desi Road may be my favorite restaurant in the world. Definitely for the food itself and the staff is fun, accommodating, attentive and seem genuinely concerned about the quality of your experience. I had the lamb and my wife the vegetarian plate. They come with a selection of dishes including lentils, chickpeas, a type of falafel, rice, paneer and of course a creamy and amazingly delicious yogurt topping. Do not get to Paris often but Desi Road is one reason I will return.

Yelp
We were pleased to have found Indian food in Paris. It did lack some Indian flavor we were expected, as well as some spice. The service was great and it had a very old school Indian feel to it. The decor was pretty cool.

Yelp
I wanted to like Desi Road more than I did. The Biriyani was very good. The lamb was was very dry though. The chicken tikka was very sad. 4 extremely dry pieces if chicken breast on a plate with a bit of sauce for 13 Euros (!?!) The shrimp was also sad. We got maybe 6 or 7 total. This doesn't sound too bad except they were probably size 61/70 (i.e. very small). Lastly, i got a glass of wine. It was served in a very small glass, but sadly the pour was a very low pour. Luckily, the wine was very nice.

Yelp
Elegant restaurant across the river from the Louvre. Beautifully prepared Indian dishes and drinks. Nice ambiance and friendly wait staff. We wanted to try something different and this hit all the checkmarks. Intrigued to find the owner is American who lived in India for 10 years before settling in Paris to start this and another Indian restaurant. 5 stars, and well worth it for an afternoon lunch!

Yelp
Food was yummy. Service was so friendly. Having Indian food was just what I wanted and we were so happy to find good Indian food in Paris. We had the tandoori chicken, Green beans, jasmine rice, black lentils and naan. The mint Sauce for the Tandori was delicious and the chicken perfectly cooked. Happy customers.

Yelp
Food was generally okay but the service was lackluster at best. Two servers to cover the entire second floor but still, there should have been more attentiveness, especially to our party of 8.

Yelp
We greatly enjoyed our dinner. So much so we ordered it again -- meaning we ate two! Flavors were quite nice. Spicy but not so hot one could not enjoy the dish. Atmosphere is quite casual. Don't expect much. Paper napkins and tables too close. And wine list is very bad so best to drink beer. But food is a treat.

Yelp
Amazing Indian food in Paris. Less than 10 minutes from the Samartaine. Super cute restaurant and great service. Would come back when I visit Paris again!

Yelp
The desserts take you to another world! Overall, interesting Indian fusion, good naans, light biryani, it was you would expect Indian food to taste like in Paris. Excellent service - the desserts...

Yelp
The 3 stars is mainly because it is way over pricey!! The blond lady who waited on our table was great and very energetic. The Tahli with Lamb with very nicely decorated on a large gold plate with gold little bowls of an assortments of different dish and flavors. The chef assortment was alright but was quite a contrast with the gold plate vs. the ugly plate these 3 assortments came in. The flavor was good and the salmon was good, however I felt that the portion was terribly small for such a big price. I like the sophisticated decoration for this Indian restaurant and I had a lovely time there but I ended paying 171EUR for the 4 of us which I find quite excessive for what we got both in terms of flavor, plate presentation and portion. Too bad but I most likely won't be back.

Yelp
Food has NO indian whatsoever. Server at front desk was rude and rushing through our meal. Asked the server for chutney and did not know what to offer.

Yelp
Excellent Indian food. I absolutely loved their food. Authentic Indian food and good service. Only hung is they are bit pricey. But all in all great experience. Must eat here whenever you visit Paris.

Yelp
The food was good. The pani puri and Aloo were especially good. The kids liked the chicken tikka. The prices were a bit high but staff was friendly. Vegetarian thali seemed small but filling.

Yelp
This was THE best Indian food we have ever had. My husband and I were so impressed. If you are in Paris it is a must!

Yelp
I do not usually eat Indian food, in fact, this is the first Indian restaurant I have been to. I went for a friends birthday because she enjoys Indian. Desi Road had very fresh fantastic food. I ordered the chicken tasting plate. It has a fabulous chicken curry and really good pita bread. I wasn't a fan on the yogurt sauce, it wasn't very flavorful, but I usually don't like sweet foods for dinner. I'm sure if I was a huge fan of Indian food this place would be top on my list. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good authentic Indian meal. I was pretty disappointed with the prices. I don't think it was necessarily worth the expensive price for the amount of food we received, although the portion did fill me up. I would have rather ordered just a chicken curry but unfortunately the menu didn't have something like that for there dinner menu.

Yelp
Thourougly enjoyed this restaurant. Initially planned on going elsewhere close by but it was closed. Yelp reviews lead us here. I ordered the tandoori salmon and tandoori lamb chops along with the mint naan. My fiancé ordered dal makhni. Both tandoori dishes were cooked perfectly and had such great flavor. The mint naan was ok. My fiancé really enjoyed the dal. We got to meet the chef, Iqbal. Very hospitable and nice gentlemen. Slightly over priced but we were very happy with the food and experience overall.

Yelp
On our final day of stay in Paris we found this place which was close to our hotel. We walked-in without prior reservation and we were provided seating within 5 mins. We decided to go for vegetarian thali and side of jeera aloo. I must say everything was so flavorful, naan were so soft as they should be, even the jeera rice which comes with thali had aromatic flavor of spices, amazed me, can be eaten as is without any curry. I should give bonus star for Mango chutney if possible. The place has very nice ambience and servers were very courteous. Must try if you are looking for Indian food in Paris.

Yelp
The food was excellent! I guess it's the first time in Paris I have tasted authentic Indian food! We loved every bit of it! The service was great... the staff was very friendly! Yes I would love if they add more options to the menu. But it's awesome! Can't wait to get back!

Abhinav C.

Yelp
Food on the expensive end but delightful flavors, something that would take an Indian back home. Should be rated as the best Indian food available in Paris. For the given price, they could either increase the portion size or give options to choose between main courses and desserts. But a big yes to Desi Road.

Lani B.

Yelp
Delicious, very delicate and complex flavors. Not cheap but highly recommend!

Yelp
Did not expect to get good Indian food this far from home. Nice environment, friendly service and good food. Great experience

Yelp
Had an unexpected encounter with an Indian spot that no one should miss. With all of the great food in the area, Desi Road stands out with a uniquely Parisian take on Indian food. The dishes are perfectly proportioned and the meats are tender and the perfect medium to enjoy excellently prepared sauces. My wife and I enjoyed the thali vegetarian and the thali chicken. Each had more than enough food especially if each person gets their own spinach side. The spinach is some sort of conjuring of wonderful that was fully cooked with buttery lemon zest but still fresh. Despite all of this awesome it pales in comparison to the service. Easy going, amenable, and happy to explain the menu - these guys are attentive and friendly. Be sure to Grab a beer with your meal on a warm Parisian night. Their ipa and blonde are most excellent.

Sara B.

Yelp
Five star for food like this in Paris. Good presentation, great food and amazing service. Their naan and dal was best. Tandoori chicken was very fresh and tender too. A must try if you are looking for indian food in paris.
