Hotel Neruda, Prague, Czech Republic - Explore & Book

"A stone's throw from Prague Castle, at the top of Nerudova Street or King's Road, Hotel Neruda - named after a 19th-century writer and philosopher - hides its light under a bushel. What a welcome change in this exuberant city of a hundred spires, sights and sounds. You would be forgiven for assuming that the genteel chocolate-box facade spells olde-worlde lodgings. Inside, however, contemporary design cool contrasts starkly with the quaint exterior. A striking balance of old and new is maintained throughout: the occasional carriage clock or ornate mirror stand out against the clean white lines and dark woods that characterise Neruda. The modern makeover complements the character of this 1348 building, and the new wing offers more availability. The owners pride themselves on the efforts made to blend this 21st-century hotel into the yesteryear appeal of Mala Strana, while the unfailingly helpful staff are an added bonus. Highs A quiet, picturesque location in easy reach of the castle and Charles Bridge 21st-century comfort in a 14th-century setting Spotless, roomy ensuites with complimentary designer toiletries, plus many have spoiling tubs Delicious big breakfasts served buffet-style in the atrium Small spa with a Jacuzzi and sauna for post-sightseeing relaxation Lows Neruda sits at the top of a steep hill, so best look elsewhere if you'll find this difficult No hotel grounds or balconies for enjoying the views The café only serves breakfasts, light meals and treats, but there's plenty of choice for dinner nearby Extra beds are limited so not advisable for families Some rooms have see-through bathrooms which won't suit everyone" - Laila Ram

"Hotel Neruda is named for Czech writer and poet Jan Neruda, who was raised in this district, the Malá Strana, and who, by some accounts, lived in this building, a converted foureenth-century convent, just down the hill from Prague Castle. Neruda was an obsessive documentor of this neighborhood, the Little Quarter, with its shady characters and ancient, twisting streets, and the neighborhood, though gentrifying, is still colorful — not Prague's hippest, necessarily, but one of its most historic, a grab bag of architectural styles." - Tablet Hotels

Cute hotel is excellent location. Right next to the castle, so handy. It was a bit hard to find, the signage is quite small and easy to miss. Staff were friendly. Hotel is a converted old building, so lots of steps and narrow corridors. Room was big was quite basic with modern decor. Bathroom looked a bit dated, but all in all, was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent!

Staying at Neruda Hotel was beyond our expectations! Every staff member was gentle and kind, the breakfast was amazing — we discovered something new every day. We spent five wonderful nights there. The location is highly recommended: it’s not in the middle of the busy areas, but close to everything, in a cozy and charming neighborhood. When I return to Prague, I’ll definitely stay at Neruda Hotel again!

Nice small hotel in the historical centre of Prague. Located just below the beautiful Castle on famous Nerudova Street (that’s where the name comes from).. it’s a great choice for a short stay in the city. They often have flexible and fair offers. Best parts? Tasty breakfast with a bit higher standard than usual and a lovely outdoor terrace on the top floor with amazing views.

Lovely hotel with a great buffet breakfast which had minor changes every day. We stayed in room 31 which was very spacious but only had 2 very small windows so there was minimal natural light. We had booked a standard room but didn’t seem to be like the pictures on the website. Bed was very comfortable. Downside was that the tea tray with the kettle built in did not reach a plug so the design of that was odd - did not want to have the tray on the floor to make a cup of tea. ||Bathroom was also large, personally didn’t like having a shower curtain especially as it kept getting caught around the plug hole which flooded the shower tray each morning. Had to ask for additional toilet roll as this didn’t seem to be automatically replenished. ||The hotel is not accessibility friendly at all as it has steps everywhere. We had steps in our room which made me slightly nervous when using the bathroom at night. There are steps up to the lift from reception and the lift is very small. Steps up to the breakfast buffet from the seating area. The hotel is also up a very steep hill so please do bear mobility issues in mind when booking!||Location wise it’s perfect for visiting Prague Castle and close enough to Old Town Square to get there on foot but far enough away to be out of the very busy tourist areas. ||Would recommend staying here!

I've stayed in many hotels around the world, but this is one of my favorites and its very romantic — immaculate rooms, a super friendly front desk, and a beautiful all day café which serves the freshest, most generous breakfast you could dream of. Perfect location right next to the Prague castle, lots of restaurants next door, amazing service, and a charm that makes you want to move in forever

We came on our mini moon for three nights, had a great time and would recommend this hotel. Location was great as slightly out the main tourist area on a quieter street but still easy walking distance to the castle, Charles Bridge and the main square / tourist bits. We got an uber from the airport there easily enough for about £15. Lots of nice restaurants and bars around too. We often stopped for a drink on our walk back.|Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Our friends had arranged a bottle of Prosecco for our room and a note which they’d sorted out. |The hotel’s design is very nice and stylish, with a welcome drink voucher upon arrival which you can use when you wish at the cafe. Cafe is open 12noon-7pm and sells alcohol and soft drinks as well as food. |The breakfast is great with lots of options hot and cold. |Our original room (107) was nice (with lovely bathroom with bath tub) but didn’t have a window - only a sky light. The aircon was broken and whereas there was a fan in the room it just blew hot air around and we woke up sweltering. We raised this at reception and they sent someone quickly to look at the aircon and when it couldn’t be fixed they moved us to a different room. This was a small compact room, but still nicely presented - and had windows so we could let some air in! We slept much better. I would say neither of our rooms really looked like the pictures from booking - id deffo make sure to go for a bigger / superior room. |We booked a couples spa treatment which was nice. There is only space for one massage table so you have to take turns (30 mins each - not full body) with the other waiting in the whirlpool bath. The massage whilst relaxing was more like just being rubbed with oil than your typical firm massage. Ask to be shown how to turn the whirl pool jets on. I wasn’t shown and then didn’t want to disturb my husband’s massage to ask or press the wrong button. |Overall great stat would stay again.

Exceptional hotel on Nerudova Street/Ulice. It is within walking distance of Prague Castle and excellent viewing points of the city. Nerudova is fairly steep but it is really close to a tram stop which can get you into the Old Town and other places. It is close to Petřin which is amazing for a walk. The hotel itself is really nice, clean, comfortable & the staff are lovely. I can't wait to come back soon.

Great location just underneath the Prague Castle! Nice designed small hotel with friendly stuff, and the most amazing breakfast buffet with bottomless mimosas! Enjoyed the rooftop terrace! We'll be back!
