I had a completely unacceptable experience with DWR Brooklyn. I called the store because FedEx had supposedly picked up my item from their store, yet the tracking showed only that a label was created and did not update for days. I called the store four separate times throughout almost 2 weeks and explicitly asked to speak with a manager. Each time, I was placed on hold and then connected to someone who was presented to me as a manager (Ivan). I later found out this dude wasn't actually a manager. Like what?? I was repeatedly told someone would could call me back on a specific day. No one ever did. This happened twice. I received no follow up, no reassurance, and no proactive communication on a very expensive purchase. The chair ended up stuck in "shipping limbo" (according to Nicole) and I only learned this after repeatedly chasing updates myself. For a company selling high end furniture, this level of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. Yes, the package eventually arrived, which is the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars. Also yes, I understood there was more foot traffic at the end of the year. But that does not excuse the lying about who I was speaking to, the failure to return calls, or the complete lack of accountability. For the price paid, this experience was inexcusable. I will never purchase from this location again. But to Nicole, thank you for the assistance you were able to provide to me <3

Worked with Nicole to get a Herman Miller Embody shipped to me in Chicago and had a great experience. Sent me videos and helped me pick the best one

The individual who assisted us, Nicole, was informative. However, the overall atmosphere at DWR felt a bit off, and I'm unsure of the reason. Regarding our purchase, we were told the item would be taken off the display floor and stored until we returned for pickup. We were told this would be done and that everything was placed in a specific room. Upon returning the next day, the $1,500 item was still on the floor. This is concerning because it means other customers could potentially damage the product we had already paid for. When we arrived for pickup, the employee helping us seemed indifferent to our need for clear information regarding who would assist us and how the item would be loaded into our car. The process itself was disorganized. Initially, only one person was assisting us with loading the large wooden credenza. Eventually, a second person showed up to "help," but there was a distinct lack of urgency. Crucially, they made us load this expensive, delicate wooden item in the rain. Considering the "final sale" policy, one would expect the staff to be exceptionally pleasant and eager to facilitate a smooth, quick departure. Furthermore, staff should be enthusiastic about ensuring customers can preserve and protect the expensive item they just purchased, especially when adverse weather is a factor. I added the receipt to demonstrate that I in fact did purchase and item at this location.

I had an amazing experience working with Brendan at the Design Within Reach Outlet in Brooklyn. He helped me find a green Mesa couch that’s not only stunning but incredibly comfortable, along with a Line Media Console that fits our space perfectly. When I first visited the store, I didn’t find exactly what I wanted—but Brendan went above and beyond by reaching out later to let me know the pieces had arrived. He explained their condition in detail and even held them for an hour so I could check with my partner. Thanks to his attentiveness and professionalism, the entire process—from selection to delivery—was smooth and enjoyable. We’re thrilled with our purchase and look forward to working with Brendan again in the future!

I had absolutely the best experience at DWR with Nicole! I spoke with her on the phone the day before, and she was so direct and knowledgeable. We found 11 items in the store at great prices—not cheap, but they have value! I couldn’t recommend a better experience, and now I’m hooked and ready to go back again! :) Randi, the manager, also helped me decide between two coffee tables. The beautiful design, combined with the help of trusted professionals, made this a 5-star experience. Thank you!

I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to go here if I wasn’t already dropping off lenses at AbelCine… However, I’m glad I did. I scored a pair of Bertoia Bar stools at 90% off.. felt like I was robbing the place. I had the pleasure of working with Nicole as my sales associate. She is a wonderful human, really cares about furniture, and DWR is lucky to have her there. I would go back again just to have Nicole sell me more fancy furniture. I think you definitely need to go in and physically see the piece of furniture you are buying because each one is unique, but if you can do that, then the deals are unbeatable.

Good store, prices are about 20%-50% original price. I was surprised by the selection of previous generation of Herman Miller office chairs like Mirra and Awron on the second floor. They even have one Eames Lounge chair on sale.

This is my happy place when I need a little retail therapy. The selection of merchandise changes week to week too, so there’s always something new. Nicole is super helpful whenever I have questions and I’ve always felt welcome from the entire staff. Go with an open mind and luckily leave with a gem for the home!!
