This Asian Metropolis Is the Best City in the World for Shopping, Our Readers Say | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tying it all together, this gift shop leans into design-led finds and cards full of Gaelic in-jokes, cheerfully selling the myth and the wink at the same time." - Paul Jebara

Google
This is not the first time I have bought from designist. So I was confident purchasing from them again online. I recently bought Little Book of Garden Birds - Sound Book as a gift for an Aunt who loves birds. It is a beautiful book with interesting facts and realistic bird sounds! I also purchased Tide Clock - surf blue as myself and my partner love taking our dogs to the beach and this is a great way to check the tide before leaving the house. Also it is very well crafted and looks beautiful on the wall. Both items arrived very quickly and were lovingly packed. I would highly recommend this shop

Google
designist in Dublin is a hidden gem for anyone seeking gifts that stand out for their thoughtfulness and creativity. This shop is renowned for its unique, quirky presents, and homeware that add a little extra joy and brightness to your day. The friendly and considerate staff is the icing on the cake! It’s a pleasure to have our Botanopia products featured in such a cool store.

Google
I think it’s unfair. It’s unfair to name a table lamp Galway while it’s made in China. That lamp cost 75 euros. It’s just not fair. You know, we try to support local small shops but it seems that we can’t.

Was looking for a valentines card and wanted to support local Irish businesses. Came across this website which has the most beautiful cards! Ordered two on a Tuesday, arrived 2 days later. I was so happy with the quality of the cards and speed of delivery that I've ordered more.

I was looking to support Irish business this year due to Covid and came across this website. I put the order in for some Christmas cards and new baby cards at 1pm Friday. at 2.30pm Friday I got an email saying it was sent out and the cards arrived Monday. Cannot believe how quick the service and delivery was. Firstly the quality of the cards and envelopes were the best I have ever bought. Considering the prices are so reasonable I was not expecting the cards to be of such good quality. The hand written card from the company saying thank you was a lovely added touch. Would highly recommend! I will back to shop online

Lovely shop with quirky and thoughtful presents, ideal for getting a high quality present or a book about climate change. Got my present for my nephew here as well as an ongoing stock for secret Santa and the like. Friendly and considerate staff, highly recommended!

Google
They were out of stock of the chocolate I was looking for, but a friendly employee very kindly pointed me in the direction of where I could find it.

Yelp
I really hope my sister does not read my reviews. I went here yesterday to get her a birthday present. My sister is into quirky design and is studying to be a curator. Great design can be pricey so to be honest I was prepared to drop a lot of money in this spot as from the outside it looks very expensive. Thankfully it's not! They have a small to medium selection of various designs, from beautiful leather bound notepads to pencil cases fashioned out of tyres. I got the sis two cups for her tea, not any old cup. They are designed especially to fit on your leg or between your thighs! I also got her a pack of cards that were a limited line by a London designer. The cups & cards averaged around €10 a piece. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and said they have many other pieces on their website. Fun spot!

Yelp
Designist really got me out of a hole today. I needed to buy my bother a birthday present... his birthday was over a week ago - eek! Perusing the really cool stuff in here on my lunch break, I found the Thermo-Pot food flask. Perfect as my brother is on the road most days and packs a lunch. I am hoping he will use it for hot lunches on colder days. There was some really funky cards as well, of which I got two. I added a make-your-own-comic-strip kit too to the pile. The stuff is a tad over priced here, for that I remove a star. For instance there is a Plectrum Maker priced at 25 EUR. A guy at work said he picked one up for 12 EUR somewhere else - yikes, that's some price difference. The place is definitely worth a look though, especially if you are looking for that unique gift. PS all their stuff can be found here www.designist.ie

Yelp
The shop is stocked with quirky, different, if slightly over-priced bits and pieces, perfect for birthday or house warming pressies... or just a little treat for yourself ;) I went in for a nosey one day while waiting for someone to meet me and I picked up a picture that didn't seem to have a price attached. Unfortunately, the lady behind the counter was too engrossed in her conversation with her friend to take notice of me hovering around. I wasn't in the mood to "ahem" at them, so I just left it back and wandered out again. I doubt she realised I was even there, but she did herself out of a e30 euro sale (I spotted the price tag on my way out).

Yelp
Definitely the go-to shop for me if I'm looking for unusal presents - for others or myself. The products are quirky, funny and of good quality without being overly expensive. In this case it was for a wedding and as I'm not very often in town I checked their website first. I found two ideal presents for the couple and was happy to see that you not only can buy online for delivery but also can order and then pick it up in their shop. It coincided with me being in town anyhow so it was a perfect way of saving the delivery costs, avoiding any postal delays and having a look around the shop as well. A very good shopping experience. With good communication as soon as the order was ready for pick up.

Yelp
First got introduced to this shop as part of Dublin Design Night.... and keep bringing new people back here. THIS is the place you want to go to get a quirky present for that person who already has everything they want.... or even just a talking point for your own house! It could be cheese making kits, the Waterford Whispers News book, sand that sticks together and a pen that is a screwdriver/ruler/spirit level (and pen) all in 1. Definitely cross the road and visit this shop if you are visiting the Georges Street Arcade!

Yelp
Designist is great for finding slightly out-of-the-ordinary presents for people. Their stock is nice, but is that price that you can't quite justify buying it for yourself, but would splash out for a present. They stock a wide variety of things from scratch maps to funky modern lampshades. For eg. I recently bought a 3D dinosaur biscuit cutter for a friend. basically it had 3 shapes to cut out per dinosaur. You cut out the 2 x 2 connected legs and then slot the main body part into the legs and voilà! Loads of their things are by Irish designers which is great. If you wanted to buy someone a momento of Dublin without it being tackily touristy, this would be a good place to look with their Love Dublin Mugs and Cake Cafe tea towels which are designed with arty landmark maps of Dublin.

Yelp
I love this place it's a great spot for shopping for prezzies or for yourself. I've featured it on my blog and in free-lance work in the past but hadn't been in a while so it was great to revisit on Yelps #DublinDesignNight - I even did a spot of shopping for Smith my six month old as they have a gorgeous selection of children's toys. Designist focuses on unusual design both from Irish and International designers, from kitchen utensils to home furniture. The staff are friendly and artistic, some being designers themselves, featuring their own designs in-store. A definite recommendation

Yelp
Wonderful shop! Such a great idea - really well designed, unusual stuff, but everything pretty cheap. I got some 'flower grenades' as a present and a nice eco shopping bag for myself. The space itself is lovely and the people are friendly, I'd recommend this shop for anyone looking for a cool addition to their house (kitchenware or small furniture), or a present (mugs, pens, cards, recycled weird stuff!), or a little treat.

Yelp
A great and unique shop with a lovely atmos. Nice ladies behind the counter and ready-to-grab gifty and clever home things on the shelves - that suits me nicely. They're especially good with lighting, and nothing is over 100 bob! Take that, recession!

Yelp
Love this store!! Has amazing gift ideas for all budgets. The staff are so friendly too, which is always a plus. Check out the funny cards by the till - guaranteed a giggle ;-)

Yelp
Great little design shop- mugs that sit on your knee, chairs made with elastic bands, lovely lights that look like sea urchins. Do check it out.
