DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill

I have traveled around the world and stayed at thousands of hotels and inns, and the DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill ranks among the best! My husband and I immediately felt at home from the moment we arrived. The space is amazing--an entire guest suite complete with a comfy bedroom, living room, kitchen, and, my favorite part, a private outdoor deck with a firepit, hot tub, and plenty of spots to relax in the sun or shade. Even better was the host themselves. Vincent goes out of his way to get to know each guest and make sure all of their needs are met, while both he and Kenneth are warm, welcoming, and great to chat with. To sum it all up: the location is terrific, breakfast is super tasty, the space is divine and the hosts are incredible. Book here on our next Salt Lake stay, you will not regret it!

Vincent and Ken's place felt like a home away from home! This was our first time visiting Salt Lake and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. We had the entire basement to ourselves with everything we needed, a living room, kitchen, bedroom, gym and lovely patio. Vincent was such a pleasant host and cooked us delicious breakfasts every morning, even accommodating me being gluten free (which I never expect but always appreciate!). They even gave us recommendations on what to do in the area. "Come as guests, leave as friends" - we can wait to return!

Our stay at the DeSoto Tudor Inn was not only the highlight of our trip to Utah this May, it was by far the best experience we’ve ever had! Upon greeting us at the door, Vincent’s genuine hospitality and humorous personality made us feel very welcomed, and the walk through his beautiful house to our suite made us really excited about our stay. The suite was like a 5-star hotel - from the decor (fresh tulips!) to the furnishings (amazingly comfortable bed and sofa) and the immaculate condition; what made it even better were the amenities throughout & a kitchen with a lot of snacks & various beverages. The guest doodles were fantastic and a great reflection of Vince and Ken’s incredible hospitality! We didn’t get to take advantage of the spa even though we really wanted to! Let me tell you, Vincent’s cook-to-order homemade breakfast is reason enough to stay here. I can go on and write a full-blown restaurant review - it was so delicious and professional-level cookery! Vincent also let us keep our luggage past our checkout time due to our train ride being late that night. When we got back to pick up our luggage, he offered us a glass of wine. We enjoyed the wine & the incredible view from their kitchen; best of all was the conversation and the company. We truly felt like we made a friend :) We also got to see Holey and Ida do some tricks 😄 We can’t wait to come back and will be telling all of our family & friends about the DeSoto Tudor Inn and its amazing hosts!

I knew this was going to be a wonderful place as soon as I made the reservation. Vincent is the ultimate host! For breakfast he delivered gluten free pancakes to meet my husband‘s sensitivities along with eggs, bacon and a beautiful bowl of fruit. The private apartment he and Ken have put together is impeccable. Tastefully designed and decorated without overdoing it. We had absolutely everything we needed and slept like babies! I would wholeheartedly recommend this B&B and we most certainly will visit again.

My husband and I booked our stay at DeSoto on our way back from a camping trip in Utah. We wanted to celebrate his milestone birthday in Salt Lake City with a nice dinner out. The DeSoto is very close to downtown and all the restaurants and is in a very walkable neighborhood. The accommodations were amazing and Ken and Vince could not have been better hosts! They went out of their way to make our stay great one by adding many special birthday touches. Our only complaint is that we only booked one night!! Without a doubt we would stay at the DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill again. It’s a perfect escape! Many thanks to Ken and Vince for making us feeling right at home!

Vincent is the most hospitable host I have ever stayed with. This was the perfect choice for my work trip which involved flights into and out of SLC airport and travel to the University of Utah (both 15-20 minutes away.) Vincent’s bed & breakfast is so clean and comfortable. He even made driving arrangements for me with Lyft, and his own car! Breakfast was delicious, with vegan options. He has a great pantry of snacks near the very comfortable bed. Even the shampoo and conditioner choices were awesome. He is so friendly and made my work trip much less stressful. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone.

Vincent and Ken are incredible hosts. They are so kind and do their utmost to provide an exceedingly comfortable stay, with great attention to detail. The space was private, clean, cozy, and had a beautiful deck with a glorious view from the private jacuzzi. Breakfast was delightful. You will not regret your stay and will want to book again!

Vincent and Ken are the perfect hosts. They will bend over backwards to make your stay wonderful, they certainly did for us! Everything was perfect and we were comfortable and spoiled while we were there. It was the little touches and attention to every detail that made all the difference. Vincent made sure breakfast was gluten free for me and everything was delicious! We were celebrating our anniversary and the hosts even purchased a gluten-free yummy dessert for us to enjoy. If you’re in the Salt Lake area and are looking for a special and memorable place to stay, stay at the DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill! You won’t be sorry, you will be so spoiled and so happy you chose this wonderful Bed and Breakfast!

Have stayed at Vince and Ken's Desoto Tudor on Capitol Hill, an incredibly comfortable and perfect stay while in Salt Lake City. If you drive through Salt Lake, or even want a nice place to relax while in town, this is by far a no brainer over any hotel. The two times I've stayed I had a lower floor suite, which you book for yourself. The ambiance is very relaxing and Vince's years in hotel hospitality show. The lighting, the air purifiers, the very heavenly beds, the fast wifi, and the attached kitchen in the other part of the suite stocked with every type of nutritious or delicious food imaginable for you to have for a meal or snack (health bars, coffee, tea, canned food, ready to prep meals, pasta, rice, canned veggies, etc) really do the icing on the cake for here. Plus though I have never have time to use it, they have a jacuzzi outside if you want. Lastly, the view of the valley and SLC below from the main kitchen is to die for. Perfect way to start your day by waking up and having coffee with Vincent or Ken and gazing out below.

I had the privilege of staying at this lovely place. The location is ideal, the space is gorgeous and warm, and the hosts are wonderful!! Highly recommended!!!

Great lodging in a perfect location near the capital. Clean safe area. Host Vincent and Ken are professionals. No hotel could give that kind of personalized attention. Very good value, will never stay anywhere else. Lower suite is super comfortable, with Queen size bed. Snack and drinks gratis is a great touch. Thanks guys, see you soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Desoto Tudor B&B. The house is tucked away in a charming neighborhood (indeed with charming neighbors) and enjoys an exceptional view of downtown Salt Lake City from its perch on Capital Hill. The guest suite consisted of a quiet, comfortable bedroom with blackout shades; a well-appointed bathroom; a small but well-stocked kitchen with washer dryer; and a charming sitting room with sofa bed. It also included a fantastic patio with hot tub and fire pit -- and stunning views. Vincent made an outstanding breakfast-to-order each day, including poached eggs with avocado and homemade salsa on English muffins with a side of homestyle potatoes, fresh juice and coffee. He even made afternoon brownies and sent a bag with me for the trip home. I'd highly recommend Desoto Tudor -- whether for business, pleasure, or a mix of the two. I'll be back next time I'm in Salt Lake City!
