We've ordered from Despana a number of times, and we've always been pleased with the quality of the product we've received and their service. This year, our family was doing a traditional "Feast of the Seven Fishes" Christmas Eve dinner, and a number of us were most excited for the star of the show, the anchovies we had ordered from Despana. The package arrived a couple days early, and when we unpacked it, we were devastated to see they had packed the wrong tin of anchovies, and we got 48g instead of 198g. We thought there was no way we'd get the right tin in time for our dinner, but I called the next morning anyway. They asked for a picture of the wrong product (reasonable request), and with no additional hassle for us, Despana made it right and overnighted the missing items. We received them the next day, right on time for dinner.
Mistakes happen. But how you recover from those mistakes is what turns good customer service into great.
