Our Favorite Universal Orlando Resort Attractions You Can't Miss | Condé Nast Traveler

"At Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, those irresistibly adorable Minions recruit you into their ranks and take you on a wild 3-D ride through Gru’s supervillain laboratory. You never leave the ground in this simulator ride, but the oversize screen and bona fide motion will make you feel like you’re soaring (or plunging) through space. A must for families, this charming ride featuring all of the film’s original voice actors (including Steve Carell), and it's just as much fun for adults as it is for kids. As an added bonus, stationary seating is available for those who get nauseous from screen-based rides, as well as kids who don’t meet the 40" height requirement." - Valerie Marino

Absolutely delightful! The Minion Ride was a thrilling adventure from start to finish, capturing the whimsical and mischievous spirit of the Minions perfectly. The visuals were vibrant and engaging, making us feel like we were part of the Minions' world. The interactive elements were a huge hit with the kids, who couldn't stop laughing and cheering. The staff did a fantastic job in ensuring everyone had a great time, maintaining both safety and fun throughout. It's a must-experience attraction for families or anyone who's a fan of the Minions. Highly recommend for an unforgettable day out!

Disappointing Experience. One of the main headlines and attractions for this park. However the ride is just many motion simulators with barely any motion. Compared to other less advertised or simply other rides. This one is very disappointing. The queue line is pretty outdated at the start and the whole thing was pretty boring. Even for the kids. No matter how short the line is, it will not be worth it. Do not recommend.

Finally did this ride last visit since it was a 10 minute wait. That's all I'd wait for this one. The pre show is the best part... basic screen ride where the seats slightly move. There are much better rides in the park.

Replacing so many great rides is a tough feet to accomplish 💪!! Reminds me of Harry Potter meets Spiderman meets Shrek meets old school Hanna Barbara (the Funtastic World) ride!! A MUST SEE and your family will have wide eyed fun as Gru and the gang takes you on an incredible journey of chaos!!

Visiting Universal Studios Orlando and experiencing the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride was a blast! The ride is perfect for families, with its fun storyline, engaging Minion characters, and interactive elements. The pre-show and Gru's house were incredibly well-done, adding to the immersive experience. The highlight was definitely the dance party at the end, which brought a smile to everyone's face. Just be aware that some may experience motion sickness during the ride and that wait times can be long. Overall, a must-do attraction for fans of the Minions and a great addition to the Universal Studios experience!

I've been on here in both the 3d and regular version. The ride is funny from the pre-show to the end. The smelly tourists gag never gets old. While the ride itself can be a bit ho-hum after your first few rides what i find keeps it interesting is watching the funny background animations of all the minions themselves. The animators out in a million funny little things the minions do and it's great to catch something new each time you ride. The gift shop is great for stocking up on minions gear like the original minion t-shirts.

Minions are a dead franchise and screen simulators are dead attractions. The only thing going for it is the queue. I would not wait 5 mins for this, I wouldn’t even walk on with zero wait. I skip this everytime because the lame screen based ride experience is so bad. This, Fallon, and Fast & Furious all gotta go. Visit this attraction if you’re under 5 years old.

Not bad. It's much better than the other ride based around the Minions IP. Like all the screen based rides at Universal, things look just a smidge out of focus. I suspect this was a cost cutting measure. If you compare them to anything in 4k, you'll quickly notice that these rides are not the same quality. Go for it if you have a few minutes to kill. Do not wait hours, there is simply not enough value here.
