Best place to stay in portaria!!The service is so professional,the rooms are out o this world and the breakfast is with local traditional products.Very clean rooms,beautiful view,We got upgraded to a better room so kind from this gem hotel.Keep guys the good work!!!A magical place to stay for your vacation!!!!

Despotiko is a very fine hotel at a high point of portaria with means it also has an amazing view. The service is flawless although we did encounter some telephone pranking at one point. The food wasn't very good the first night(Tuesday) but was almost perfect the next day. The breakfast is absolutely worth it. Now about the rooms, although not perfect for school trips, I must admit that they are excellent for families of 4. For example the bathroom doors wouldn't close completely but then again it doesn't matter. The rooms are clean, have a nice view of volos and are honestly very well built. From my experience this hotel is worth 4 stars and the price is amazing considering what you get. If you ever find yourself visiting portaria then give this place a visit.

Unfortunately, housekeeping is ridiculous. The first day (after 1st night) they just quickly made the bed. Towels stayed on the floor without replacement, rubbish stayed in the room. In addition, although they have signs everywhere about covid compliance, they do not think of the obvious: while everyone grabs the same tools in breakfast buffet, they do not have a single sanitizer on the tables. Too bad because it is a nice hotel but it looks like they are not professional enough to host guests during summer.

We stayed here as part of a package booked through MacAdventure for a walking holiday. It's a lovely hotel in an old building,but with a modern feel. We have had two days here in two different rooms....either end of our trip. ||||One was a duplex, suitable for a family, but very comfortable. The second was a beautiful room in another building a short walk away...really lovely, although it would have been nice to have had the option of a bath after a long day's walk.||||Staff are helpful, although could be a little more friendly. Well located for lots of nice restaurants in the village. ||||Overall, highly recommended.

From the first warm welcome until we departed this staff (especially Chris) never stopped smiling and helping to make our stay perfect. ||||The accommodations are lovely and comfortable. Very nice pool. ||||The road to get to the hotel is very scary but after a few times we got used to it. ||||Overall, a wonderful experience!

Value for money for the dates that I went end of July paying 50€ with breakfast was a very good price.Yes indeed the road is a little bumpy but nothing more than a car can't handle,the bumpy road is about 200 metres or less and there is a parking in the hotel 🏨 .The breakfast is very decent with a big variety of products .The hotel does have a pool also which is very nice.Overall it is a smooth place managed by decent people.The location is good and if you leave the car in the parking lot of the hotel you can walk your way from portaria to makrinitsa in half an hour.So better walking than talking your car.The hotel also is very relaxed especially where I lived in archontiko.In the price there is also a hidden fee of 3.5 euros is considered to be a tax that is not calculated in the overall price nevertheless you pay it and it would be could to be informed for this fee from the start.Long story short a decent place to relax especially if you hit a similar or better price if you are there do not miss going to Volos for tsipoura and mezedes!

Excellent and very attentive staff, and good location. They change towels every day, which is a plus. On the downside, our room was very small and the bathroom door was like a wardrobe, with a door that closes from the outside and offers zero privacy...You can hear everything! The water mixing is crazy, it's almost impossible to set a proper temperature while showering. Many guests didn't wear a mask while ordering breakfast, and the management should intervene in such cases. We also found a couple of ants on the bed, which is not very pleasant.
