Had our amazing engagement party here and George, Fumika and all the staff were incredible! They put together an amazing event, and were so accomodating with our requests - the space looked incredible as you can see. Hats off the chef as well, all our guests were so in love with the food provided and the superb cocktails. Cannot thank you all enough for such a great night!

I really enjoyed the food (eggs Benny) but it did feel a little overpriced. Everything is overpriced though, so atleast it was still tasty. Also tried the raspberry matcha and was underwhelmed. It was fine but I was expecting more flavour. Really cool atmosphere and staff was lovely

The Sunrise Bowl has the best scrambled eggs I've ever had in my life. The balance of flavours, and the wonderful spice is absolutely delicious. I'd eat here every day if I could. The food here is amazing, and it's dog-friendly! Only one suggestion: please add lactose-free milk. 😊

We had to wait quite a while at the entrance before being seated, which felt a bit awkward. However, the trendy interior made it fun to look around. The place is quite spacious, but there was only one staff member serving the hall, so he seemed busy. For drinks, we ordered the Gaytime Shake (Aussie style), a small long black, and an almond croissant—all of which were delicious as expected. (Supreme beans) For brunch, We took the staff’s recommendation and shared the Knuckle Sandwich. The juices and sauce started dripping out as soon as I bit into it, so I just ended up using the cutlery instead. It was still moist and flavorful, and while slightly heavy, it was enjoyable overall. After eating, we also visited the adjacent Deus store, which was fun to browse. The clothes had good quality, so I ended up buying something—yay!

After a long hiatus, we planned another lunch at DEUS, and we were not disappointed. Just fun and so enjoyable. My French Toast was superb, but, if possible, please offer a "half size." (Or, for seniors, as they do in Germany). In any case, we'll be back.

Very very cool motorbike store. The cafe is awesome and the breakfast we had was delicious. The shop has cool gear - clothing etc. highly recommend a stop. Can be challenging to get a park - but we always manage!

We had a great time at Deus Cafe. Firstly, it’s a dog-friendly cafe so we were super happy to bring our pup along with us! The soda and juice we ordered were all very good - refreshing & a little sweet and sour. The food was also great! My favourite was the mango tuna poke bowl: the noodles were perfectly coated in this sweet & savoury sauce that we get from the mango and the sesame dressing, and the overall dish was light and fresh. The chicken parma was also really yummy with the pesto and had a nice crunch. The bibimbap was good but nothing amazing. They also sometimes do special nights - we recently went to their one of their ramen nights and, even though the food wasn’t authentic Japanese food, their take of it was delicious. The portions were also very generous, and don’t skip their desserts! The overall cafe is well-decorated, and the attached shop is really cool (and also dog-friendly!). Staff was also friendly, giving a pleasant overall vibe to the place. Would come back!

Yelp
Leave your leather jackets and hair gel at home-Deus isn't your typical cafe-biker bar! This food spot (with a shop attached) has been beautifully designed to be minimal but industrial. light wood, concrete floors, black walls with sun drenched fiddle leaf fig lined Windows. It's very spacious with a generous menu. We stopped in at 4 which is when they don't serve food (3-6 kitchen is closed) But hot chips and croissants are available.

Yelp
Walked in here while visiting Australia after reading good reviews. I had the Potato rosti benedicts and it is the best Benny's I have ever had! Tried it with a tiny bit of vegimite like a bad turist and it felt like riding a wave :)! My bf could not stop smiling! I had a double restretti flat white and mimosas!! Coming back everyday while here! Can't wait to try the lunch menu!!

Yelp
Simple American style food with a bit of an international flare. Service is relaxed and on point with what you expect for a laid back inner west venue. Loving the refurb with the mix of concrete, wood, plants and black finishing. For those that come be prepared for amazing vibes, eclectic music and good bloody food!

Yelp
Good chilled cafe serving some tasty (massive) dishes. It's been newly refurbished bit still has that industrial feel. We've been here for dinner but not breakkie and I wasn't impressed with my meal. I had the croque madame and my lover had the bacon n egg roll with avocado and kimchi...definitely the bacon and egg roll was the winner. Don't get the croque madame unless you want massive slabs of bread with minimal filling smothered in band bechamel sauce. The dinner menu is widely better. Bit pricey but worth it for the bacon n egg roll (must get the avocado and kimchi...trust me!)

David H.

Yelp
Fantastic establishment. Was before the renovation, still is. Interior has some Swedish element to it but still keep with its industrial motorbike vibe. Been here for the Sunday roast, which was decent. Now having the breakfast. The bacon and egg roll with avo and Kim chi is phenomenal. A light breakfast with great balance in flavour, the Kim chi was not overalls spicy which helped. Will definitely come back for more!

Yelp
I like Deus Machina - it's always a good "go to" place for burger and a wine. The burgers are wagyu so are always cooked medium rare, make sure you're emphatic on the burger being medium well if that's what you're after - otherwise it'll come out rather rare... The staff are highly efficient and I always enjoy the wine and atmosphere here. :-)

Yelp
A colleague brought me here for a chat and, because it was a bad day, I had the steak sandwich and fries. That bit of good luck means I can give you more of a measured response than if I were to have just had the coffee which would have been my ordinary practice on the day. And it was good. Unfortunately, you can't always give food the attention it deserves when you're crying, spluttering and sniffly so I can't tell you if it was great -I was feeling a little too sorry for myself - but it was memorable enough that I recommended it to another friend who went at a later time for a casual date. But the food isn't really the only point here. Deus café's reputation is also due to the beautiful warehouse-like space, the uber-cool prints on the walls and points of interest-things propped up on the floor, the motorcycle store next door (owned by the same people) and the staff who are, and I just know that I'm going to sound like my mother here, such nice men. My reasons for coming back as often as I have are yet again, somewhat separate from the food, but not even mainly as a result of the space, the house style or even the nice men. I relish coming back here so I can order my usual skim cappuccino (strong and very nicely done) and to grab one of the many New Yorker magazines that are strewn on a table close to where you walk in. What a treat.

Yelp
Ugh ok I'm really teetering on the edge giving Deus 4 stars here because I'm really feeling like its for of a 3.5 but it's not average enough for a 3. The whole vibe of the joint is a little "we're too cool for you" and while it's a great space with lots to look at you also sort of feel like you're being judged somehow. Something else that seriously put me off is the fact that they charge a surcharge on the weekends. Like, I know it's fairly customary for hospitality joints to charge a surcharge on public holidays, but every weekend? That's a bit rich if you ask me. But after my negative rant I can announce that the food is pretty darn good. We all inhaled what we ordered. I, myself, had a 'breakfast burger' type thing that was pulled pork with a fried egg and a roast capsicum sauce on top and it was divine. I polished that baby off real quick. Deus Cafe is also attached to the infamous moto workshop so you can wander through and have a look at some sweet 2 wheeled rides and purchase some merch. But it does cost a bit to be cool - don't forget.

David T.

Yelp
The breakfast here is awesome, and the vibe is nice (even if it feels a little too large for the amount of people it attracts). The staff are always friendly and the food is well priced. My go to breakfast is their granola and chai tea

Heather J.

Yelp
Bit of a MumsnBubs fest really. If you don't possess a baby, or like being around people talking about babies, avoid this place on Saturday morning. Mid Friday arvos are the time to pounce on the Deus burger. Its shiny buttery brioche bun, melted cheese, veal patty, tomato, lettuce and mayo ingredients, accompanied with shoestring fries, are YOUR baby. Shift your gaze to the Chopper print on the wall, stare into the eyes of a crazed Eric Bana, and sink your fangies into your offspring. DROOL.

Yelp
What's not to love about Deus Ex Machina? The cafe served up a great breakfast when we stopped in. Bacon and egg on a ciabatta and dill cured salmon, creamy scrambled egg and a toasted brioche was the order and it arrived quickly with a Flat White Coffee and an orange juice. Conversations stopped as the breakfasts were slowly and not so slowly devoured. It gave us a chance to review the cool artwork on the walls. Even a jackhammer outside the main an trance didn't take anything away from the experience. And then after breakfast? Well of course there was nothing left but to drool through into the area next door with the coolest bikes on display and with For Sale signs displayed. Oh yes, there are racks of cool clothes for everyone. And finally, the soundtrack to it all was a cool mix of Yello and Tom Waits. Doesn't get much better than this.

Yelp
I've driven past Deus cafe for years but have been afraid that I am not motorcyclist-y enough to go and feel comfortable. Actually going in revealed a real mix of clientele from young families to grandparents. Comfort level through the roof! There is a few long communal tables but you might be lucky to snag a table for 4. THe decor is suitable warehousey and walls covered with old music memorabilia and old comic books. I completely agree with other reviews in the coffee is A*mazing. The salad I had was pretty great - tasty and good value at $20 with generous portions of all the good bits. Some staff members were a little less than friendly but maybe they just needed another awesome coffee.

Steph V.

Yelp
Once seated, it took them 15 minutes to come and take my order. We were seated right next to the coffee bar as well and passed several times by staff and the place was not even half full. We used to live coming here but the menu now is ridiculously overpriced and simplified . As a side, ONE field mushroom and not even that large was an extra $3 and something like $17 for smashed avo with extra halloumi. Very disappointing. This regular has moved off of our haunts list for the inner west

Monita B.

Yelp
Burger was tasty, the sangria was delicious (albeit weak on booze) and the waitress pleasant. Ambience was a bit cold but so was the beer so I had a good night all round.

Ameeta T.

Yelp
Funky vibe. Good service...but we went for the food, which was ordinaryy and overpriced, especially for the area. The Potato Rosti Benedict had hash browns out of a packet. The French Toast with fruit and cream had barely a couple of tablespoons of fruit with cream sprayed out of a can. We resented paying gourmet prices for frozen and tinned offerings. The staff were friendly. Even with nice service, we will not be going back. Our local cafe in the lower north shore serves fresher, better tasting food and larger servings at these prices.

Alecia W.

Yelp
It may be better known as a custom motorbike shop, but the menu at the adjacent Deus café is just as much of a drawcard. Vintage posters and wall-mounted bike parts enhance the industrial-chic, warehouse vibe alongside beautifully crafted communal timber tables, but the masculinely modern interiors belie the impressive selection of salads and dainty baked sweets on offer from the counter. Substantial in size, the classic tuna nicoise is dense with blanched green beans, plump black olives and hunks of quality fish, while on one occasion a daily special of caprese was practically a platter of thickly sliced, ripe red tomatoes topped with torn chunks of mozzarella and basil and lashings of olive oil. The atmosphere is always buzzing - probably a result of the high ceilings that seem to amplify conversations - and its position on the bustling Parramatta Road can sometimes make parking tricky (head for the clearway-after-3pm area on the left hand side), but be sure to persevere for a memorable lunch out.

Julie C.

Yelp
Although I haven't tried the food here yet, the coffee here is DIVINE. I am a true believer that Australia does have some of the best coffee I've ever had. Deus' coffee is cream, strong, but yet so good you could finish a cup and want more. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Nick D.

Yelp
Really cool looking place with great food.very busy and hard to get a table at first in the middle of the morning, but worth the frantic dash to get one. I don't know a lot about bikes, but the ones in the adjacent Deus shop were so cool I walked out wanting one.

Craig B.

Yelp
An unexpected pleasure! Wandered here to try a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. While the music is a little loud and t is mostly shared tables, the food quality was outstanding and the server was friendly and knowledgeable. As I told her, the food was better than it needed to be for a place decorated with various motor bikes and cycles. A great find near the Newtown area of Sydney.

Nelson A.

Yelp
Large open space connected to a cool motorcycle shop. Great food! However, the coffee could be much improved.

Marianne J.

Yelp
Shocking- families beware. Staff here are rude, unfriendly, and have no idea about kids. I will never go back after today- they complained about my three year old boy squealing at the water- but the place was LEAKING all over the floor beneath our feet! what do you think a three year old would do?? And they got angry at us when he played with the cutlery- so dont leave it out for every joker to spit on. I'd be willing to bet my kids hands were cleaner than some. A real disappointment. Go elsewhere if you have lovely little sprogs- where staff greet you and them with joy This left me with a very sour taste in my mouth.

Terry C.

Yelp
I regret to inform you that the coffee is poor quality. Perhaps the machine needs to be cleaned or Deus simpy doesn't use beans that produce a richly flavoured & delicious coffee. But really, who does? It's all a hit and miss with coffee anywhere in Sydney/Australia/The World. Amiable server (the older bloke), and atmosphere is lively. Two stars - because the sun was shining brightly as I walked to/from the cafe.
