Very nice restaurant in the heart of downtown. They have a big menu with a great variety of food. Their terrace is very lovely too and it's perfect for enjoying brunch on a nice day. We were a group of 5 so we also got their mimosa deal which was totally worth it. I had their lobster benny and it was delicious, but the lobster piece was rather small for 50$. The service was good, the atmosphere was great, so I will definitely come back.

While exploring Montreal, I randomly stopped someone on the street to ask for a good place to eat—and they recommended Deville Dinerbar. I’m so glad they did, because this place is an absolute gem! The food was incredible—every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. And the drinks? Phenomenal. Truly some of the best I’ve had. But the highlight of my visit was Ken, the bartender. She is hands down one of the greatest I’ve ever encountered. Her craft, energy, and attention to detail were unmatched. Not only were her cocktails amazing, but her warm and genuine service made the entire experience unforgettable. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction. Deville Dinerbar turned what started as a casual outing into a memorable part of my trip. If you’re in Montreal, don’t miss this spot—and if you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar with Ken, you’re in for something special. 🍸✨

I was by myself and sat at the bar, not sure what to expect. I just went in because it was dinnertime and I was passing by, but the food and drinks were excellent. Zev and Lauren, the two bartenders were incredible! They were so friendly and I had a great time chatting with them. Usually when I go out to eat by myself I just eat my meal quickly and leave, but I had such a nice time that I even ordered dessert. (The oreo milkshake is delicious)

We had a fun and tasty experience. It has a lively and trendy decor and music. We sat at a comfortable booth. We tried the tuna tacos which were light and delicious. We loved the wasabi mayo. The squid was crunchy and delish. Then we enjoyed the burgers and fries. The salads looked amazing so I want to return to try one.

Our experience was fantastic! I had a delicious macchiato and bacon poutine. The poutine was killer! We packed the leftovers and brought them back to Maine, USA with us- LOL! The Neptune Ahi Tuna salad was out of this world. Environment was fun, staff friendly. Bathrooms had cute deco art- super fun for us since we were Bruins fans visiting.

I was searching for a place for a light meal near our hotel. This diner bar popped up on my radar. Didn’t expect this place to be suitable for kids. They even have a kids menu (not a physical one but a verbal one). When we arrived, we felt under dressed since there were patrons in smart casual attire. We were immediately guided upstairs where there were casually dressed people like us. We notice a few tables with families with kids. Our kids ordered mac and cheese unfortunately did not taste good and the burger wasn’t the best. They ordered an orange juice but got apple. Kids didn’t even have the appetite for dessert. The music was too loud to even communicate properly which led to a miscommunication - mix up of an order. Thankfully they rectified it. Overall this place wasn’t for us, but I guess others might say otherwise.

I always enjoy my culinary experiences here. Amazing food, awesome service from Igor. Had the Yuzu meringue pie pancakes and the Short rib & hash mille-feuille. Yummy in my tummy! Have to go back to try the other items from the brunch menu.

Me and my partner are regulars. The food quality is comparable to some higher-end restaurants while having a much more relaxed atmosphere. The meals, drinks and deserts never dissapoint us, however if you're not happy the staff does take feedback. The staff is super friendly and professional, our server Jana is the best, had to shout her out. But big props to the whole team. Even on their busiest nights, service is still very good.

Yelp
I've been here long time ago and this place is definitely a long standing restaurant for a reason! It is one of the few restaurants that are also open late with a really cool vibe with neon lights inside. We really enjoyed how the restaurant was also not too loud as well, which allowed us to chat. My local friend recommended me to try the Deville Macho salad and it did not disappoint! First of all, the food came out in lightening speed and it was so surprised with how quick the service was. The salad was also MASSIVE and packed with avocado, big pieces of chicken and lots of mixed greens! It was for sure a very filling meal and really hit the spot!

Yelp
Deville Dinerbar was such a fun spot for brunch! The whole place gives off a cool 50s diner-meets-neon-futuristic vibe--think chrome, black and white comics, and waiters and waitresses in neon pink, black and white. It made for a super fun backdrop for brunch with a big group of friends which they accommodated no problem. The service was great--they had no problem accommodating our group, and everything ran smoothly. A few friends ordered mimosas, which came with a small flight of juice options and a bottle of champagne to pour yourself, which was a nice touch! I had the shakshuka, and honestly, it was one of the best I've ever had--even more impressive considering we were in the middle of downtown Montreal. I forgot to snap a photo because I dove right in. Truly the highlight and I would 100% order it again. We shared the beignets as an appetizer, which were more like dense powdered donuts than traditional beignets--but still really tasty and perfect for sharing. I also had the fig & burrata toast, which had great flavors, though the toast was a bit tough and tricky to cut through. Despite that, I'd definitely order it again. All of the portions were generous and honestly, you could've split one entrée between two people, we were stuffed and still had extra on our plate. Awesome atmosphere, great food, and a solid spot for a fun group brunch!

Yelp
Touristy spot but the food is pretty good, as are the cocktails. Get the fried pickles. Easily best I've had. We also had the ribs and the disco poutine with bacon. Both fine. I really liked the caesar salad side as well. Service was very friendly and accommodating since we came with a baby and stroller. If you sit outside, beware of bees.

Yelp
Great place - retro place with modern twist (sounds weird but that's the best way I can describe it). The drinks are amazing, food is good, but the service is what sells this place! Family Friendly: Yes! Parking: street Pet friendly: N/A FOOD: Cambalache Salad (grilled ribeye steak, red chimichurri sauce, mixed green, corn, hearts of palm, yellow peppers, onion, avocado, and julienned mango, spicy lime and mango dressing) $39: 3 Stars - I really wanted to love this salad because I love ribeye. The ribeye was cooked perfectly but should have been sliced thinly. Because I had to cut it up in a soup bowl, it caused all the other items to fall out of the bowl. The yellow (and red pepper that isn't listed on the menu) needs to be chopped, NOT SLICED, so its more manageable to eat. Same goes for the avocado, red onions, and mago. Adam's Famous Beef Ribs (signature beef back ribs smoked in-house, based in our root beer BBQ sauce. Creamy slaw, fries, and jalapeno-cheddar cornbread muffin) $48: 4 Stars - The ribs were fall off the bone but could do with a little more salt to increase the flavor. Maybe because I don't know cuts of beef well, I was expecting it to be the dino ribs but sadly it wasn't. Of the whole plate, the cornbread was probably the best thing. Kid's Mac and Cheese (fries, juice, and ice cream): 4 Stars - Very yummy and good size portion considering there is a lot going on. The ice cream was probably the best part. This restaurant (plus all the others while I was in Montreal) do not automatically provide you with a kids menu even though they can see your child... when we placed our order we ordered a Mac and Cheese side for our 2.5 yo until the waiter told us they have a kid menu which is still didn't give us an actual menu but rattle off the items on it. DRINKS: Black Rain (Etsu Gin, Kokutsuru Sake, yuzu puree, ginger syrup, organic dragon fruit powder with volcanic salt rim and yuzu mochi) $22: 5 Stars! Amazing. One of those things that you drink and hope to recreate at home just so you can have it again and again. Granita Espresso Martini (A crushed ice cocktail Hennesy Cognac, Kahlua, Gailiano, espresso, and Demerora syrup) $19: 4 Stars. Good yummy drink but because I had this second to the Black Rain it did not win the #1 spot. RESTAURANT/MENU: Very fun vibe and very very pink LOL Even though the dinner has a retro vibe, it was very clean and tidy. You know what I mean when most people think of Diner or retro, its like have kitschy things all over the walls, floor, chairs, etc. We found this place after shopping around on google map. We were not sure they allowed kids as the first thing you see when you walk by is their very full large bar. The restaurant is deceptively large that has a small eating area to the left and a much much larger dining to the back right. SERVICE: Amazing service! This was the first restaurant we ate at in Montreal and it set the bar high for hospitality! The hostess, manager, and wait staff were super friendly and very accommodating!

Yelp
Had a fantastic time at the Deville Dinerbar! The service was the highlight. Everyone is so friendly! Ricky was a joy! What a professional. Made us feel at home! Had some great recommendations. The vibe is wonderful, music great. Place super clean and inviting. The food...excellent! Calamari crispy yet not greasy, dipping sauce delish. My burger...wow. Just a great blend of flavors and the short rib...holy cow...so good. Fries perfectly fried and a generous portion. The chocolate shake was delectable. The beignets...fluffy warm pillows and the nutella dipping sauce heavenly! Will definately be back on our next trip!

Yelp
One of the best meals in over a week so far in Canada. The atmosphere is lively and fun! The tune tartare, mac'n'cheese dumplings and lamb lollipops were all WONderful. The apple pie dessert - enough to feed a family - was way too good. And our server, Richard, oh my, worth the price of admission. So much fun!!

Anna L.

Yelp
Had an amazing lunch here. Had the French omelette which was fluffy and perfectly cooked, soft and fluffy. The Parmesan potatoes and bread toasted with olive oil were also amazing. Easily accommodating for my daughter who had dietary restrictions and the salmon was excellent. The cheddar and egg sandwich was also delicious with large portions. Would highly recommend..

Yelp
I found this place just walking around looking for something for dinner with my Girlfriend. It's a nice twist on a diner setting. The ambiance is very upscale and fine dining feel although they serve "diner" food. The food was much better than you would expect with a name like that. We started with the Deville Rolls that come with parmesan and parsley sprinkled on it as well as a side of smoked butter and normal whipped butter. I ended up getting a club sandwich and my girlfriend got the Chicken and Waffles. Both were very good! Our waiter was also very kind and helped us choose the perfect entrees for our dinner.

Yelp
Super cute place! We wanted to try the poutine n drinks after shopping near by. Very good drinks. Reasonable prices. Poutine was very good, fries were crispy. Music was lovely disco songs. Service was courteous.

Yelp
Went for a light dinner. My husband wanted to watch a football game which they had playing. Alot of lights and decor. Big bar area and wide seats. Good selection of food too. The food was yummy! We got poutine, fried pickles and salt pepper calamari. Good vibes! Service was nice. If your visiting montreal, stop by!

Yelp
Deville is so so good. It was our first meal in Montreal after a long travel day, and what a good choice it was! We started with the fried Mac and cheese bites, which were cheesy and tasty and fried very well. But the star of the appetizer was the side of marinara sauce they serve with the bites! It was sweet and spicy. Very good! For dinner, my husband had the Deville burger with the Impossible patty sub. He said it tasted just like a better Big Mac, which is a good thing! I had the Mac and cheese with short ribs. The Mac was good but the short ribs were absolutely to die for. They were juicy, tender, seasoned to perfection, and just so good. I would order it again any day. I also had a side of their disco poutine. What a phenomenal choice to add that to my meal! It's not a traditional poutine. They use a creamy and decadent cheese sauce instead of the traditional curds, which was a nice twist. But their gravy was something special. You can just tell they take a lot of care to develop the flavor of it. I almost went back again for just the poutine, but we weren't in town that long. Finally, we had a boozy shake, which isn't my thing but my husband enjoyed it. Then we had their monkey bread, which was huge and a really great end to our meal. Our server was the sweetest and kindest person we met in all of our time in Montreal. She was so pleasant and helpful and made our first interaction in town so nice. I don't have the heart to deduct a star, but if I could do a half star I would for overall cleanliness. While I did see people cleaning, the table was kinda sticky, the floors had stuff all over, and the bathroom was very disappointing. Also, the place is very expensive. But the food quality helps make it worth it. I'm definitely going back to Deville on our next trip to Montreal!

Yelp
Fun old school diner vibes and esthetics, we were sat in one of the round booths and had a nice view of the pre-Canadiens vs. Rangers game patrons. The servers were friendly and helpful making decisions on the food (and what could be made gluten free). I had a seared tuna dish, my son had burger and fries and boyfriend had steak salad. My boyfriend and I also enjoyed the interesting cocktails. We were all happy with our choices!

Yelp
One will definitely not leave this place hungry. Maybe the amount of food has to do with the higher than normal prices? Who knows. I wasn't going to dine here as it is expensive. Not that I couldn't afford it. I'm just cheap like that. I did change my mind and walked over after 6pm. I was expecting it to be really busy due to the Olivia Rodrigo concert, but it wasn't. The bar was empty, and since I was by myself I chose to sit there. The bartender was great. Very attentive. And like every place I go to, I already knew what I wanted. I got the jalapeno cheddar cornbread and the short rib stroganoff. The cornbread was muffin style and the order came with 5 or 6 and some butter. These were excellent. A bit crispy on the muffin top edges and moist throughout the rest. Each flavor had equal presence. I could have eaten all of them just for dinner. The stroganoff came right out after the cornbread arrived. And this was a lot of stroganoff. The noodles were thick and cooked perfectly. The short rib was tender and had great flavor. My only complain was that it did have a lot of mushrooms. And thick mushrooms. If they were more finely cut I probably would have enjoyed it more. I just have a thing for large shrooms. Again, it is a lot of food and I don't even think I finished half of it. Along with a soda, my meal came to $64.00 CAD. The stroganoff was over $40. I don't thin i have seen stroganoff that expensive. But, again, it was good. I would possibly go back.

Yelp
Lunch here was incredibly delicious. This restaurant is a lot larger than it appears from the outside. It was a 50s glam diner /disco vibe, and the decor was by no means overwhelming. We arrived around 2 pm on a Friday, and we were seated quickly. The menu offered a decent range of items, but once I spotted monkey bread, we decided to have salads so there would be room for dessert. Was the food plated beautifully and the meal? Delicious. The chicken was roasted to perfection and was tasty, the lettuce was nice and crisp, and the jumbo cornbread croutons added a nice balance. So, so good. Service was also excellent, and coupled with a reasonable price point; it was perfect.

Yelp
Our hotel recommend Deville Dinerbar and it was a short walk to Deville Dinnerbar on Stanley. We shared a steak sandwich and for dessert chocolate bread pudding! Everything was served HOT and delicious. When we return to Montreal we will definitely make it a repeat dinner spot.
google avatar

Yelp
A retro-cool 1960ish diner with lots of good tunes awaits! We had the nicest, most attentive server, Chad, and the food was delicious. I had the lettuce wraps and a really great cocktail! Come here for a fun night out in downtown Montreal.
google avatar

Yelp
The variety and abundance we enjoy indulging in, not to mention a very courteous, friendly and super patient service A Diner style place with a chic twist, marble counters and table tops, and lovely decor inspired by some American establishments, a lively ambiance with multiple large tv's and a DJ. Let's not forget a very diverse and complete menu to satisfy any craving you may have (hence comfort food) There are also plenty of wonderful cocktails, milkshakes and desserts the latter of which we just couldn't bring ourselves to try due to our overconsumption of appetizers including the biggest onion rings we've ever seen. I guess we'll just have to go back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for after dinner drinks. Someone in our party has the last name DeVille, so, had to take him here. The vibe is swanky, lots of pink and purple deep lighting. Diner style booths with a large bar and some TVs. Lots of fancy upscale cocktails, good selection of tap beers. Cocktails are hand made with care right in front of you at the bar and well done, even burning the orange rind for my old fashioned to extract extra oil. You don't see that everyday. Service is happy and prompt and we enjoyed the overall energy of the place.

Ty M.

Yelp
This place is the bomb! Great food and great service. Zev, the bartender makes some awesome drinks with amazing service! Don't pass this place up! We really enjoyed the entire dining experience.

Yelp
Even though restaurant was half empty at 6pm they placed us at a small 2 person table if you could call it that. Then when we wanted a refill on our drinks the waitress just continued to ignore us was not a good experience. Food was ok but service is really lacking

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food and staff! Was here visiting from NY and it reminds me of Cafeteria in NY or old school Coffee Shop in Union Square. Will definitely be back. Great drinks . Mac and cheese skillet is great, calamari is good with the paprika spicy dip, chocolate shack was fab too.

Leslie W.

Yelp
Overrated is how I would rate the food, service and ambiance. The menu just tries too hard to present traditional diner fare in a trendy way. It doesn't work. We arrived as as a party of three with one person in my party clearly had accessibility issues by the use of a cane. We were walked past several empty tables to a set of stairs to the second level. I looked at our hostess to say why are we being seated upstairs. She clearly saw my irritated face and replied, oh, I'm sorry as she continued to walk up the stairs. When we were seated we realized we were on the second level by ourselves. Who in a restaurant wants to be sat alone while all the energy and action is on the first level? The ambiance was horrible. The food was mediocre at best. Was that lemon in the mashed potatoes? The branzino was oily with much of the fish a dark brown instead white indicating a super oily fish. I could go on and on but I'll stop there. If you are a tourist staying in the downtown area seeking a place for dinner, skip this one. It is not worth it.

Orlando D.

Yelp
Very disappointed and dissatisfied with restaurant management! Average food, large portions. VERY slow service, NOT due to waiter! Supposedly other waiter injured? Management did not apologize or offer any comp! And added 20% tip to bill automatically! Shame on management that was present and sitting at bar not helping situation chatting with DJ!!!!

Yelp
Great salads and service. Music is loud (maybe too loud). Very fresh. Service was very nice and out server was very friendly.

Yelp
The place has an American old school atmosphere that offers variety of food from burgers to steak. I ordered a filet mignon that was deliciously tender. It wa topped with two big pieces of perfectly fried onion rings. My friend has a tuna salad which was quite a massive portion. The big portion of delicious salad was topped with an amazing grilled tuna and sided with a nicely cooked egg. The dessert also was wonderful and came in a gigantic portion. It was enough for two people. Our waitress was super nice and gave us a quick and friendly service. A perfect place to gather with friends on a weekend night or with colleague for quick lunch.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Good music. I had decent service. A short wait but nothing that would make me take away a star. I did take away one and a half stars because I felt like my chicken in the chicken and waffles wasn't all the way cooked. When I cut it, red liquid oozed out. The manager tried to convince me I was looking at paprika. I don't mean to be funny, but I'm Americana & I'm from the south. I promise I know more about seasoning and chicken than anyone in Montreal. ‍ My cousin ordered the chicken sandwich and parm fries and loved it. I also enjoyed the plain side of fries. I was told the fries are a reason people come here. I can see why. Good shoestring fries. I took a bite of the chicken sandwich and it's very good. However, there's no flavor on the chicken itself. It's all on the Asian sides that top it. Make sure you move the sauce and kimchi around before you bite to get the flavor. I took a half star off because I wanted more flavor all around. I also enjoyed the watermelon mocktail. Highly recommend. No complaints. They made a new chicken and waffles. I felt like the manager was a little passive aggressive about it... idk why. It's like 20.00 I promise if I was gonna steal I'd have to forts lower who I am as a person, and then it'd be something more expensive. I do want to return, and here's my plan: order the chicken sandwich and plain fries. Have them add extra sauce and extra kimchi.

Yelp
A charming diner with a nostalgic vibe, serving up generous portions of comfort food. The burgers are juicy, and the milkshakes are a must-try. Perfect for a casual meal!

Yelp

Yelp
(Visited 12/11/2019.) Heading home for the weekend and I needed a lunch before my flight so I stopped here! It had incredible reviews so how could I skip past this place? Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: So right downtown is this gem. It has such a presence about it, it's incredible. So once inside you're enveloped with such modern, yet retro diner feel. It's truly unique. Bright neon/LED lights, diner stools, stainless steel everywhere, it was just so cool. It was lunch time so it wasn't too busy, but I can totally see this place being packed on a good weekend night! Service: Luduina took care of me and she was excellent. She was clearly experienced, charismatic, sweet and took care of everything that I needed. Food: For my lunch I went with their Cambalache Salad. This salad consists of grilled flat iron steak with red chimichurri sauce atop mixed greens, black beans, corn kernels, hearts of palm, red peppers, yellow peppers, red onions, avocado and mangos all tossed in a light mango dressing. It was fantastic. The salty and savory worked so well with the sweetness. It felt healthy, wasn't heavy and just was straight delicious. Value: (All prices in $CAD.) My salad was $27.00 and I think that was a bit much for a freaking salad, but it had steak on it so that's likely where the cost came from. No worries, it was worth it. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this place and wish I had known about it much earlier in my Montréal visits. Their food AND drink menu is extensive and intriguing! Check this place out if you're around!

Yelp
I'm updating my review because over the years I found this place much better. Lately I've have been going there with friends to sit at the bar and watch the Playoff hockey games. I've tried mostly everything on the menu from chicken to steaks and the desserts. I've enjoyed all the tastings and have become familiar with the staff. They do give big portions so I quite often take a doggy bag. Lol I will say the music is very loud but I'm old. Overall this is a great place to grab a bite or go for cocktails. Staff is friendly!

Yelp
WOWOWOW!!! Super high quality food, impeccably run restaurant!! Must visit during your stay in Montreal.

Yelp
This place is so fun and upscale! The vibe is a 50s theme and the decor is sooo cute! As tourists, my husband and I obviously ordered the poutine and let me just say, BOMB.COM!!!!! I haven't experienced poutine much but this place makes it soo good I really don't care to try other places! My husband and I quickly devoured that. For our entrees I got the Kentucky country fried steak dish & he got a pasta dish! Again they were both so yummy. The drinks were flavorful too and had cool names. I do recommend sharing dishes because they do give large portions but overall the food is veryyy tasty here. Parking was a little difficult, we did have to pay for parking in a lot but there is parking on the streets if you're lucky to get a spot. Service was great tooo! Our waiter gave us great drink recommendations & also food recommendations which I thought was very nice especially since we are not from there! 10/10 food 10/10 drinks 10/10 ambience

Yelp
The music is loud! Clearly an establishment catering to the younger set. That said, the food was a lot better than you'd expect in a restaurant of this kind, and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Stopped by last night, had the hanger steak and the Bacon Burger. This place never disappoints. Has a great menu, great crowd for people watching and good TVs around the bar if you want to watch a game.

Yelp
In my original review I had come here for drinks and that they were great now that I've eaten here my love for deville has only gotten better, my girlfriend is seriously debating naming our first born after them! There's absolutely nothing that I've eaten here that isn't phenomenal. I always start with the coconut bartered onion rings not only are they huge but they come with a root beer dipping sauce that's to die for. I followed up with a burger that had a bone marrow mayo and candied bacon. My girl got the macho salad and the croutons are made of corn bread. We were excited to be eating indoors again and got some Mac and cheese and lobster pogos too. If your still standing and have room for dessert their beignets are chefs kiss Overall deville staff is friendly knowledgeable and takes all safety precautions so that you can dine in and enjoy one of Montreal's best restaurants. This place needs to be on your list

Yelp
If you're looking for a large sized lunch. This is the place to visit! The wall decor inside gives off an old school vibe which I loved. My friends loved it. I on the other hand deduct one star - 1. Because it was a struggle to eat such a large sandwich. It was super messy and I was getting a little frustrated being that I was hungry 2. It was kinda dry. Wish it had more sauce. Fries were amazing. Staff was very polite as well Overall the meal was well prepared and the wait time was very brief.

Yelp
My husband and I had lunch at Deville Dinebar and overall the food was good, but I found it a bit pricey for what it was. I had the Deville Macho Salad ($23) and my husband had the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries ($20). I asked for no corn kernels in my salad and for the salad dressing to be on the side. My salad came as requested. However, for some reason my salad was missing the sliced almonds that was listed on the menu. Anyway, so my salad had mixed greens (iceberg, romaine, radicchio, and spinach), rotisserie chicken, grape tomatoes, goat cheese, avocado, dates and cornbread croutons. The dressing was a champagne vinaigrette. I liked that the chicken was lean breast meat. It still had the skin on, but no big deal, I just peeled it off and didn't eat it. The croutons were really unique. The cornbread was really sweet and had almost a caramelized flavour to it. The crunchy texture and the sweetness actually went well with the rest of the salad. They were generous with the goat cheese. I was a bit disappointed to see iceberg in a $23 salad. I was expecting tastier greens, like kale or arugula, but at least it had spinach and radicchio. My husband enjoyed his Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. He said the meat was a combination of dark and white meat. He said the Kimchi was really mild, so don't shy away from it if you don't like pungent Kimchi. The fries were shoestring fries which are my absolute favourite. I was lucky enough to be able to snag a few and they were fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient. Our server, Cameron, refilled our waters when he noticed they were low and he checked up on us appropriately. They also give you lots of ice with your water, which I love. Our food came out relatively quick. Decor I would describe as diner-like with a lounge-like feel, if that makes sense, lol. The place is fairly large. Unless you are just having an appetizer, you cannot get a meal for less than $20. Sandwiches and salads are the least expensive items and they start at $20. Mains are in the $30-50 range. The food was good, but like I said, I personally found it pricey for what it was.

Yelp
As many have probably said in other reviews, the prices are a bit higher than expected, but once the food arrives it seems like a fair deal. Deville is quite a large space and the design is if you mixed upscale and kitschy diner. I ended up ordering the Korean fried chicken burger. One reason I did is I believe the price was closest to what I thought a comparable restaurant would charge (somewhere around $20), but also because it looked good. Once it arrived, the presentation looked great and it appeared very appetizing. The sandwich is huge too. Once I bit in, it was clear the chicken was fresh and made in house. I was also surprised that they seemed to go quite legit with the kimchi. It had all the pungency and heat you'd expect from real kimchi rather than a watered-down version at a hipster restaurant. The side salad was needed on my behalf as I had eaten virtually nothing but carbs the 48 hours leading up to it. The salad was made with very deep greens and was extremely fresh. Aside from the latent health benefits of it (and it wasn't over-dressed), it seemed to give me a placebo affect of some type of cleanse by body needed. Yes, I'm aware of how inconsistent that is with my choice of burger. My friend ordered the wonton ahi tuna tacos. I can review since I had an entire one (the order comes with three). As with the theme, the price seemed a little steep, but once you see the three large tacos - and more importantly: taste the quality of the tuna, it turns out to be fair enough. I honestly loved them, and the taste and freshness of them was superb. The only problem with them was they can get a bit messy since they're stuffed and also since the wonton taco starts to break apart easily. On the flip side, I still don't think they have to change as the wonton taste and texture is so perfectly matched to the dish. That initial bite of the crisp wonton, the soft, warm tuna and the freshness of crisp veggies still sticks out in my mind. I'd heartily recommend this place. If 'dinebar' elicits 'diner' or specifically diner prices, you need to do away with that notion. Virtually everything on the menu - appies included - starts near $20 and then goes north from there. But once you see the portions and taste the quality, it's par for the course and worth trying for sure.

Yelp
It's a Diner... it's a Bar... it's Both!?!?!? Really cool aesthetic here and the staff is super great! Prices are a bit higher than your average Diner but the portions are good and ingredients are better. Drinks are tasty (lots of sweet/tiki style options) and they have boozy milkshakes (I recommend the smores). For food we had the braised short rib mac n cheese and the blue cheese wedge ... both good but the Mac was the standout! The short rib was so tender! But the thing that stole the show was the dessert. The smores milkshake was good, but the double naked chocolate bread pudding with ice cream on top was amazing. Had to peel myself away from it! Overall a nice spot that I would recommend! Stay Cheerful ;)

Yelp
A Welcomed Surprise and Wonderful Experience! We did a road trip to Montreal for the 2024 Eclipse and stumbled upon this restaurant. We started off at the bar before being seated for dinner. The Bar Staff could not have been more kind and welcoming. There were many specialty drink options in addition to broad wine selection. The meal was Perfect. I had the "Bad Girl Pasta" - a seafood and linguine dish - Delicious. Others had the spaghetti and meatballs and the Southern Fried Chicken Salad. The portions were certainly plentiful and the flavors were exceptional - truth! And, in addition to the Great food & service, there's the ambiance, and this place has a Great Vibe. The booths have a "Coup de Ville" style hence the "Deville" name per the Bartender. You can dine at the bar, booths, window-bar seats, and on a rear outdoor patio in season. The front-house staff complement each other and function as a well-oiled-machine. (Compliments to the Kitchen Crew, too) Also, I was impressed to see the amount of business that they had on a Monday night. I would definitely recommend Deville Dinerbar and we will be sure to stop here the next time that we are visiting Montreal.

Yelp
Came here on our last night In Montreal for dinner. It sure was a happening place! It was extremely busy and I like the 50s Diner vibe through-out the place. The menus and booths are cute and the servers were extremely friendly and nice for most of it. I ordered the Mac N Cheese Wontons as they seemed to be a hit within my fellow yelpers reviews. However, I found it to be very bland and barely finished one due to the lack of flavor. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen? The server even mentioned it was odd as it's their best seller. Just wasn't for me and I didn't see anything else on the menu that really tickled my fancy. I mean, there are good things on the menu but then some random ingredient would be added that would throw off the dish in my opinion (See the fried . My husband however, enjoyed his mussels and it was a heaping portion! He said they were delicious and would order them again!

Yelp
Our first time visiting Canada from Boston ! We sat at the Bar and Ken P was awesome ! Everyone was super friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is so cool diner with comfort foods. We tried poutine for the first time and we were obsessed!! If we come back to Canada we are coming back to Deville and asking for Ken!

Yelp
I reviewed Deville 3 years ago, but thought I'd update my review since the place even got better! We went there on a Saturday afternoon, ordered the lobster roll, the french dip burger, and the fried pickles. Last time we ordered the general tao salad which was great. This time, everything we ordered was incredibly delicious and the order was ready in about 10 minutes which was surprisingly fast!!! The prices were fair, the food felt delicious and fresh and the sauces that came with the food were all great. Deville stays a classic in Montréal and I can't wait for it to reopen so I can get drinks and sit in this beautiful restaurant !!

Yelp
Diner fare that is large in portions. You can certainly share a salad or an entree. Cool atmosphere and fun music playing. Food was well cooked and very tasty. We were on a lighter fare side tonight so we had 2 salads and the salmon dish. All were very good and beautifully served. Caesar salad dressing and croutons were great. Fish was lovely and the veggies and rice that went with it were a very very generous portion. Waitstaff was great. Attentive and kind. Helpful with dairy allergy in party. We didn't have drinks but they looked good! A nice option for a good meal.
