Great location, close to ferry to catch into auckland. But didn’t make the overall experience great. The host was friendly but when we arrived there were no signs or anything to direct us where to go. We didn’t get any information where to go so we were walking around trying to find reception. We phoned the number and got sent back a reply to text or leave a voice message. We then had to ask a lady we saw sitting in room where to check in, found out it was the host but still no information except let our selves in. Would have been nice to know before arriving. There were 1 and a half rolls of toilet paper for our 4 day stay… Wasn’t enough and ended up running out! There was one sachet of coffee for our 4 day stay and 2 tiny packets of sugar. The hand soap, body wash ect was not topped up so only a tiny bit in each bottle. There were no proper mugs- only tiny tea cup size and most the dishes were dirty and needed re washing or stained.

A secret little jewel in the village of Devonport! Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Our unit was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the stylish decor and comfy bed. The kitchenette was so convenient, and the cozy patio was a delightful spot to enjoy morning coffee. The owner is really lovely, and you simply can’t beat the location - it’s an easy walk to shops, cafes, and the beach, and a quick ferry ride to Auckland. Plentiful street parking was an added bonus. We’ll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our short stay at the Devonport Motel. The room was very comfortable and peaceful. Close to amazing restaurants, cute shops, and the ferry terminal, this is an excellent alternative to staying in Auckland City Central while remaining connected to all that the Big City has to offer. The owners were kind and easy to communicate with. Though we didn’t have a car, it seemed that parking was ample on the street nearby. Well-equipped, we could easily have stayed longer.

We recently stayed at the Devonport Motel for 3 nights. We had a comfortable King- size- plus bed in the cottage. The shower was good too. The property was within walking distance to the shops and yet quite quiet. There was two bath towels supplied for 3 nights. No Information Booklet, no facecloths, no coffee or tea sachets. We phoned the owner and asked if we could have facecloths and her reply was that because of Covid 19 she had been advised to supply a disposable paper face cleanser. This would be fine for one use but not for showering each day for two people. Eventually we received two facecloths. As for the tea and coffee we were told to look for them in the Supply Room. I found some tea bags ,but no coffee. A day later we were given some coffee. The motel was not serviced at anytime during our stay. The weather was cool and a bit inclement so it was difficult to dry our towels. We hope that these comments will be helpful so that the next visitors wont be inconvenienced like we were.

Devonport Motel is a great little place tucked away behind the owners house. It is close to the small shopping precinct and just a short stroll to other tourist spots. Within walking distance to the ferry terminal. The unit was very clean and tidy and has the basic utensils to be self sufficient. The bed was comfortable and the garden outside was delightful to sit in and enjoy. The owners were lovely people to deal with. There was very little road noise as it is off the main road.

Don't be fooled by the name; this isn't really a motel, more like an Air B&B. From what I saw, it just comprises two units in the backyard of a house in a residential road, just off the front at Devonport. Off road parking is just on the single driveway of the house and so your car can get blocked in. There is no reception. When we arrived, the owners were absent and had left us a note on the front door. They were also absent when we left next morning; so we never saw them. Therefore, make sure that you reserve a room here with the credit card that gives you the best exchange rate. We didn't but had no opportunity to pay with the pre-paid card that we brought with us for the purpose. Despite these negative points, our room was quiet, comfortable and well equipped with a great shower and full kitchenette. Soap and shampoo were present in dispenser bottles in the shower, but there was no hand soap on the basin, which was strange and a bit inconvenient. There was also no shelf in the shower for your own toiletries and the towels were pretty worn and a bit grey. These are pretty minor points, but could easily be rectified by the owners. The house is well located, being only a short walk from the harbour and all of the restaurants in Devonport and so this represents a very good base when staying in the area.

Walking distance from the Ferry, this mini motel complex (2 units) was quiet and the owners friendly. Nothing was a bother. Don't expect palatial, but the unit was clean. Heat pump was good, especially in the humid conditions of Auckland. Unit was small but with a big heart.

The location of this small motel, which only has two rooms and is in the back garden of a family house, could not be better. The place is just a two minute walk to the ferry. It is more like an AirBNB than a hotel/motel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. However, the units were quite dated and in need of work. The accommodation here is very different, and not up the standard we experienced over the rest of New Zealand. When we arrived the place was mostly clean but the fridge had obviously not been cleaned and had a half empty container of milk inside and crumbs everywhere. There was also the lid of a jar on the floor. The bed was really uncomfortable. One side of the bed was so badly sagging it was very hard to sleep in. In the bathroom the handles that open the windows had been removed and were lying on the sill. The shower was new and the water was hot.
