We ordered two wraps. While my partner enjoyed the wrap, I didn’t. The plate, on which my food was brought, was dirty. It didn’t make my meal pleasant. The drink was far too basic for being home made and 4 euro’s (store juice). The homemade lemonade is just water with a little lemon juice in it. The price for the amount of food was decent. It’s really a place for students, which makes the atmosphere lively and fun. The outdoor setting is also spacious. We enjoyed the vibe of the place, but not the food. Just manage your expectations for this place.

The outdoor seating was a great feel. Went there after reading good reviews about the place and I was not disappointed. The portions were adequate and decent price. Definitely recommended.

Very tasty meat chowder with bread. Generous serving. Mostly young ambiance. Just wish tap water was served for free :) Recommended!

This cafe is amazing, in the summer they have a huge terrace, in the winter they have a cozy inside bar. The food is also really great for the price. Really the best price quality place I’ve been to in a long long time in Belgium. We took a lot of duvels, the leek pasta and a filled bread. Will come here again. (Especially for the quality and the low prices )

Service and atmossphere is good . The food is very mediocre. We had grandmas sausages small portion (it was very tiny and nothing special. Black sausage is blood sausage just fyi), the meatball appetizer and nachos (not very tasty, kind of rubbery, felt microwaved, and nachos were Doritos…), and lastly we had the chicken chowder bread bowl (huge portion and pretty tasty) bottom line it’s just an average eatery and prices were not cheap for what you got. Besides the chowder I felt like I got some precooked food at a supermarket and microwaved it at home.

Verry nice student restaurant, a bit more on the expensive side but still decent value. The stoofvlees chowder is a reccomendation if you want something filling and a flavorbom. The wraps and pastas are still pretty decent values. The place is also really popular, especially during the evening hours. But there probably is always some space outside where you can sit.

I'm strongly recommended trying chicken fricassee chowder. Its delicious!!! 😋😋😋 Also the establishment has high chairs for children and a place to change diapers. Very convenient if you plan to visit Dewerf with a child.

Ideally for students, really good food and portions for the price

Yelp
Stopping here for our last dinner, we were recommended to come here. We've been told time and time again that this place was well known for their Bolognese. The Bolognese did not disappoint especially for the price. As a side, we got a salad as well, we need some type of greens right because I swear in Belgium it's so carb heavy! Anyways, the bolognese was great. The outdoor seating I would say is neat, the only downside with summer outdoors is that you do have to deal with bees literally all over the place. But, hey that's part of the experience right? Next time I'm back in Leuven I will probably stop by here to get a coffee or another meal of bolognese if I'm hungry. It's cheap, and easy to get to. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for just a simple meal.

Yelp
Cute cafe hidden in the backstreets of Leuven. Menu composed of your every day fare of soups, salad, sandwiches and pasta. We had a curry chicken farfalle dish and a cheesy linguini dish (sorry don't read Dutch so well). The food was merely A-okay, but the service was excellent. Little cups of boiled clove were placed on the tables to ward off the wasps. I've never seen this method before, but it sure was effective. Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Learning: 5/5

Yelp
Coffee, good. Service, good. But the brunch and lunch food is very bad. If i wanted to eat canned soup then I would just stay at home and do so instead of paying six euros for a Royco soup.

Yelp
Mediocre food and a reasonable selection of beer. While Leuven does offer nicer brasseries, De Werf is unique as it's cozy and always packed with students.

Yelp
Ordered a stella and a spaghetti bolognaise here. The dish ran about 7,5 euros with cheese. The food here is nothing particularly special, the décor is unusual inside but in my opinion I just felt it was tacky as hell. Tourists should know that this is a popular place for locals because of it's location and outdoor seating arrangement. They have blankets for you to wrap yourself in case of cold(er) weather. I hear their wraps are pretty popular, but I haven't had a chance to try it.

Yelp
Good beer and fair price. Service is good as well!

Yelp
Great brasserie in the touristic city center. Nice atmosphere but always crowded, expect to wait in order to find a table in the evening. The have an original menu: hot chocolate comes as warm milk with chocolate, your can make your own orange juice and coffee comes in a thermos. The terras is heated and they have blankets for the colder evenings.
