How Airports Are Using Biometrics So You Can Spend Less Time Waiting in Lines

"The New York-based firm Clear has also recently been expanding its usual biometric kiosks. As of October, the Tom Bradley Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport now has Clear lanes, where members can zoom ahead of even travelers with TSA PreCheck."

Great selection of name brand products from all over the globe at a Duty Free price. They have make up, perfume, chocolate, alcohol and alot of skin care brands I've never heard of. The staff was helpful and the store is very clean and well stocked. I recommend that you take time to browse this store at LAX.

DFS in Los Angeles international airport terminal has many international brands of cosmetics, tobacco products, fragrance, liquor, and all duty free

As always, with any DFS, if you're in a crunch to find something for someone, they have everything you could think of at any price point! Just look at some of those alcohol prices, and they're more expensive than some vehicles!

The new terminal is definitely nicer than the previous with it's large ceilings and spacious interior. However that is all forgotten because the organizing of lines at the gates by some of these airlines is really terrible. The lines leak way out into the main walkway of the terminal interrupting the flow of things. This is especially noticable at gate 148. I'm looking at your asiana airlines.

On January 22, I bought a longines watch here. What was my surprise when today I went to the watchmaker to adjust the bracelet and it turned out that the bracelet was missing at least one link. I was a little confused when buying that the protection on the bracelet was only on one side. Now I know why. They sold me a used watch for $1,600. Don't buy watches there.

The moment my husband Vlad and I entered the airport at LAX we were greeted by JetBlue crewmembers, and it just got better from that point on. We got to the gate about 2 hours early and asked the JUST ASK DESK if we could change for an earlier flight, they said sure and immediately transferred us to the flight (there is usually a cost of about $75), but soon after we realized how long the flight was and being very hungry, we went to the gate and asked them to remove us as we wanted to relax and have something to eat, so they did. After eating we got to the gate and they gave us the option to do an upgrade to MINT ( First Class) and we accepted

Rude old lady on the counter and alcohol section staff. Worst shopping at airport experience. Staff in chocolate section was nice and helpful though. Will never go there again

Yelp
Quite a big change from the last time that I've been here...meaning haven't travelled out of the country for years . Same old stuff to buy for gift giving...all good but if you're like will just browse around because I got my bag packed with stuff to give o it haha! Enjoy your flight!

Yelp
Nice selection of stuff, but I was being watched like a hawk. It was pretty obvious they were just staring at me. I suppose a lot of shoplifting happens here but come on.

Yelp
I never expected great place with lot of stuffs at any of airports in USA. If you been to Korea, Korea duty free was number one and you want buy all of them. But I personally thought it's good DFS DUTY FREE SHOP at LAX terminal2 than others. Not many of brands only few brand but great to buy whisky or wine or cosmetics or perfume. I was looking for Jo malone lip balm and I was lucky to get to bought that at here. Only for $30. If I had a time for looking around more, I thought I going to buy more. The staffs were friendly and helpful to me. If you looking for some of good wine or whiskey or perfume than this place is great to buy.

Yelp
15 months later, absolutely NOTHING has changed. Still exactly the same like the last time: cheap(er) liquor and cigs given it is Duty free and sans taxes, it also is still a bit cramped. I decided to have my Big Bro and GodNiece hold on to my stuff while I roamed around to lessen the risks of breaking something I didn't want to buy. (Some of the placement of their products aren't deemed safe from carry on bags moving around.) So, yeah... NOTHING has changed. I'd still come back, though...

Yelp
There's a decent amount of products from which to choose. The holidays brings a lot of giftable items and a variety of goodies such as candy, chocolate, cigarettes, and beauty products. I love that L'Occitane products are available here and they offer a nice selection of travel sized products for the avid traveler. Great place to browse and kill some time.

Yelp
They charged $128 for a $49.99 bottle of wine. This is unacceptable. Overpriced is an understatement. The first picture below is the wine bought today from LAX duty free, the second picture is it's online price. Even before sale price it was $79.99, still cheaper than $128. This is almost criminal.

Yelp
The DFS Duty Free I went to is located in the 90's gates area of Terminal 6 at LAX airport. I'm not sure about all the other products besides tobacco and alcohol such as the perfume, chocolate, cosmetics etc. but definitely for alcohol and tobacco coming into Canada you need to be out of Canada longer than 48 hours which can include the time it takes to get back etc. The associates ask to see your boarding pass presumably to make sure that you're on an international flight (leaving the USA that is) and they even scan it as part of the security for the purchases. Purchases you select aren't given to you in hand and you don't' walk out with them. Instead they place them in a sealed back with the receipt also sealed on the bag and give you a receipt to claim the purchase the gate before you board your flight. Basically you can't buy for others that aren't going on an international flight because they don't give you the goods until you're about to board that plane. When I mentioned to my brother in law that for alcohol and tobacco that you have to be out of Canada for 48 hours the associate at the store was like "how will they know?" I didn't really want to get into it with her but really I'm not into lying to immigration/customs on my end. I'm guessing at some point other customers may be unaware of what they are permitted to bring back into the country depending on how long they've been away but I can only assume that the associates here don't know the regulations for other countries nor should they really have to. It's really up to the individual to know what they can and can't bring back to their respective nations that they're going to and what the laws are there. Either way for me I was gone a week so I know what I'm allowed to bring back. My brother in law on the other hand was only in LA for a day so it would have made a difference for him. I ended up getting 2 jars of L'Occitane cream (Amande) for my sister in law there and they were 48 dollars each with is more affordable than back home even with the USD exchange plus no sales tax.

Yelp
I was at the one in Terminal 6. I found very limited supply of liquor and liqueurs at very high prices. The prices were far better on my cruise ship, and that's saying something. I'd say go to a Costco or even Safeway for better prices.

Yelp
Customer service was amazing. Both Brii and Bri talked to me about my upcoming trip. Most importantly, terminal 7 at LAX for United Airlines, doesn't have a smoking section!!! After buying my liquor for my international flight, I learned from TSA that I was screwed because i bought liquor and that was over the amount of allotted liquor for the carry-ons. Luckily, the staff was able to find a way to resolve this terrible situation. Very happy with this whole experience.

Yelp
This is a fun store with some cool products. It's quite large with three subsections all of which have some cool things. It's located in the international terminal, and it's a beautiful place to shop. Check it out.

Yelp
I was at LAX DFS duty free to purchase some cosmetics, firstly I got a Lar Mer lotion and gave to a sales (#1668) then I was shopping around. The sales person followed me, after I got a Mac eye shadow I was ready to check out, I saw the sales person from MAC wanted to check out my item from Mac since she wanted to get more sales. Those two sales person were like fighting for the sales. I didn't think much so I just follow their way to check out my items. After the sales from Mac check out my eye shadow, I went to sales(#1668). she told me I could get a 15% off since I purchased for a certain amount, so I told her I would like to have all items check out together. She gave me a poker face looked like she was blaming on me because I didn't give her the sales. She told me it's too late. We had some argument because she could have told me about the discount at the beginning, even tho, they could still help me to combine the sales, but she refused with excuses even threatened me stated that she could cancel all the sales so I don't get anything. I was really disappointed and do feel DISCRIMINATED. I didn't have enough time to get her name but I will definitely contact their manager for the issue.

Yelp
Your shop for candy, chocolate, and personal care items. The lady there was quite helpful and attentive. I don't buy these items enough to comment on the prices though :(

Yelp
$50 for a carton of American Spirit. Not bad for for LA regular price of $90. But I wish it was cheaper. It's $36 a carton for the Same brand at the duty free before the Mexican border. Either way I'm happy that they carry it. Typically hard to find this brand

Yelp
Everything in the new TBIT is nice except for this store. All the merchandise is marked up 2x retail or more. &120 for a bottle of wine that retails for $60 in a normal store. Avoid at all costs unless you have money to burn!

Yuki Y.

Yelp
I really disappointed that you guys service!!! I suppose to get the items at the gate but never get it! I have a proof that I spend a lot of money and time. That was my worst experience in America

Yelp
Duty-free? What exactly does that mean these days? Overpriced fragrances here. Amazon is cheaper. But you do get some free candy if your purchases here are over some amount. But that candy is overpriced compared to similar you can get at one of the grocery store chains too.

Yelp
I purchased three bottles of Patron tequila from the DHS at LAX in Bradley Terminal, as gifts for friends overseas on the way to my flight. The sales clerk told me I couldn't take them out of the store, but assured me that they would be delivered to my boarding gate. They were not. The gate agent assured me that they would be delivered to my seat on board. They were not. The flight steward said they had never been delivered to the plane, but assured me that DHS would refund the purchase price. They have not. Very frustrating (and possibly a scam by airport personnel).

Yelp
Got so bored at the airport, I decided to walk in. I love the perfume selections. Tax-free quality perfume that's eau de parfum is hard to come by. Loved all the Gucci and Bvlgari ones. They are super stocked and even have limited edition ones. Got some gigantic Toblerone in the end. It's a solid 14oz bar for $14. Yummy and tax-free. SCORE!

Yelp
So I just wanted to pick up a Clinique face wash at Duty Free at Tom Bradley. Took the product off the shelf and then tried to check out at Chanel and another 2 counters because there was no Clinique rep. No one would let me check out. And my next statement will be racial. I apologize for anyone of their background (because I know it's not a general trait of that particular country), but all of them two women and one man were all Chinese. Actually it seemed like all the sales people were Chinese at all the counters (make up / fragrance). One literally was just counting cash at the Chanel counter (an skinny semi tall (for Asian) old woman with short black hair and skinny, probably in her 60s) and she had just finished checking out a customer. Another tried to walk away when she saw me coming (a short Chinese woman bob haircut at the counter to the left of Chanel as you're looking out the store) and about late forties early fifties). The other just told me to go to another counter (a medium height lanky male late twenties early thirties with black short hair). Lazy a$$e$. And I said that out loud so they could all hear me as I placed the item on counter and walked out. I can buy that in Heathrow. No lazy idiots working there. I wish I could give zero stars but Yelp won't let me!

Jamie L.

Yelp
I purchased a MAC foundation, which the lady said I would pick up at the boarding gate. I bought shade C1 and received shade C6?!!?! I failed to check the box when I picked up, which was my fault, but I am still VERY disappointed. Didn't even save me that much $$$

Yelp
Visited this smaller version of the main store to buy souvenir Ghiradelli chocolate. Visited the little store because the larger store had too many customers. A total madhouse. The service was fine but the prices are terrible. Don't buy your last minute gifts here. Go to Target. The prices are terrible. Terrible.

Angie H.

Yelp
Try getting service if you are not Asian. Hate to sound condescending but all employees in store today were Asians and they looked past all non-Asian customers, or averted eye contact.
