I recently visited Dharma Coffee and was pleasantly surprised by their espresso tonic—refreshing and well-balanced, perfect for a warm and sunny day. I also appreciated the quick service, as I didn’t have to wait long for my drink.
That said, I was a bit disappointed to find out they had stopped serving V60s for the day, even though there were still 30 minutes until closing. While I understand the staff likely didn’t want to extend their shift—especially after what was probably a long and busy day given the café’s popular location and the great weather—a single-cup pour-over doesn’t take much longer than an espresso-based drink. It was a shame, particularly since at £4.60, their V60 is one of the most reasonably priced in London—something I was genuinely looking forward to trying.
The staff weren’t particularly warm or welcoming, but certainly not rude—just neutral, which can’t really be held against them, especially at the end of a demanding shift. The atmosphere inside is relaxed, with a good variety of seating options to suit different preferences.
One of Dharma’s best features is its extended hours—open until 6pm, which is rare for London’s specialty coffee spots. It’s especially appreciated in summer when you can enjoy a proper coffee after a sunny day in Richmond Park.
All in all, Dharma has a lot going for it. I wish they could keep making V60s until closure but other than that I definitely recommend them if you want a nice cup of coffee in Richmond.
