Dhawa Ihuru

We recently returned to Dhawa Ihuru eleven years after our first visit as we had enjoyed our previous visit so much, and we appreciated the lovely welcome back. The main attraction for us is the excellent reef which encircles the island and is easily accessible from the beach. This year it was teeming with fish feasting on the plankton and we also saw lots of reef sharks and turtles. There are also some beautiful sea anemones with their resident clown fish. It took us about an hour to swim around the entire island compared with a five minute walk! We were lucky with the weather and only experienced one day of rain in our 12 night stay. ||Food was excellent - not too fancy - with plenty of choice every day and we were treated like royalty by our charming waiter Adam. The drinks included with the AI were very good with decent white and rosé. Our villa was very comfortable and excellently serviced by Shareef, who attended to all our needs. The villa had quick and direct access onto the reef, which we really appreciated, and a private beach area with a day bed, chairs and swing. We could have done with a bit more shade as the sun loungers were very heavy to move around. ||We enjoyed the Maldivian evening and the dancing of Moussa, who was always very friendly and helpful. ||Transfer to and from the airport was seamless and we were on the island within 2 hours of our plane landing at the new terminal. We have visited several other Maldivian islands and would say that Ihuru is definitely our favourite and we hope to return again sometime in the future.

Rooms, Clean and tidy, nice view, the shower was very annoying went from a nice temperature to freezing to boiling hot to scalding just kept getting out quickly. Toilet blocked 4 times while we were there. Majid room boy kept room spotless a massive thank you. Just one idea sweep under the bed very very dusty. Food, Breakfast the best meal of the day Yoga the egg chef brilliant. The other food was very repetitive especially for long stay guests but chefs were accommodating always offered something off menu if wanted. The a-la-carte menu nice but not always to our tastes. Husham our waiter and Moosa our other waiter totally amazing took time to get to know us a big thank you to you both. Did have an issue where doctor was required four times put on antibiotics, pain killers and imodium doctor thought possible salmonella issue ??. But doctor amazing, however did get charged $130.00 for visits and medication. Reef, A very very nice reef to snorkel, we were just unlucky weather and seas very rough which led to cloudy water but eventually cleared we saw 8 different turtles plus lots of fish and amazing corals. A very big thank you to Leyla on reception you were totally amazing thank you !!. The inter island speedboat where you can go to Banyan tree is a good idea, but if you are from Dhawa you cannot have any drinks free. I think you should be allowed soft drinks on either island. Marine lab. Laura and Aman brilliant your passion for your job is amazing. Would I stay again ? Not at the current price point don't think its value for money overall .

Really loved our time here!|Snorkelling is really incredible, we went many times per day. Calm reef surrounds the whole island. Easy access with abundance of fish, turtles, sharks etc. |Rooms are great. Really clean and private beach area out the back with loungers, swing etc. All huts seem to be detached with own personal space.|Food was delicious. Combination of buffet and a la carte. Loads of different cuisines. |All the staff were amazing! A shout out to our host, Moose, who looked after us during meals and was so friendly! Really made our stay amazing.

It was absolutely perfect from the well made dishes to the tastiest fresh drinks. I absolutely love the atmosphere of the resort that gives such a tropical homely atmosphere. In addition, the rooms I confided in were a beautiful blend of nature and modern design. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, I absolutely adore how sweet they were. I’ll consider this resort as a comfort haven that I wish to revisit again.

We had an amazing week staying at Ihuru with our family, only great things to say! The island is beautiful with its lush vegetation, white sandy beaches and amazing reef. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the staff was so friendly. Our kids loved just roaming around and joining the organized activities. Food was excellent and varied during the week. Hope to come back again!

Fantastic!! |Dhawa Ihuru continues to deliver and how. Our fifth time back here and everything was perfect. The reef looks healthy and the wildlife sightings were top notch- saw the eagle ray, turtles, sharks and all the usual suspects. Great job by the resort in maintaining the reef through all the weather changes.|The staff were so hospitable - service was exceptional. Shukriya for the fantastic service - starting with Hanna and Layla at the reception . Husham, Mihaad, Ismail and Moosa who took such wonderful care of us at the restaurant. Aushan who made sure the room was comfortable after all the sand we dragged in. |Last but not the least a new addition in the arts and craft center. Abdulla was an inspiration- fantastic art with such a meaningful mission to create beauty while preserving the environment and helping local communities . |We will return for sure.

Aiham was a great looked after us for our stay when the weather was sunny this island is amazing great diving I saw many sharks and a turtle up close. Food was good quality for a buffet staff friendly Manly the waiters and house keeping always smiling.

Maldives It's truly one of the wonderful places on this earth. We family of 4 had a 4 night stay at Dhawa Ihuru island resort (villa no.16; 26-30 Dec 2025). The lovely team 😍 of Dhawa Ihuru (Habeeb, Ini, Shuaib sous chef, Pradeep, Don, Akesh, Subasis, Susi) ensured that we had one of the most memorable vacations. Special mention for Hossam who took special care of us during our meals at the restaurant 🤩 Viyaam & Lian 🫶 for making sure we thoroughly enjoyed the water sports activities 🤿 And Habeeb for being there with us start to finish👍 One thing which stood apart is the personal attention from the Ihuru team whether we are at restaurant during meals or lazying around at the bar or enjoying the water sports activities. That makes the vacation more endearing and memorable ❤️. The room and surroundings were kept spotlessly clean and thanks to the housekeeping team for this👏. I also appreciate the efforts by the team to organize common activities such as Kite flying, local market, fun swim race and paddle race between the islands (last 2 we unluckily missed because of slightly rough weather). Cannot miss to say that DJ night was super 👌 Such attention and care would make people come back to Dhawa Ihuru. Wishing all Dhawa Ihuru team a happy new year 2026 🎊
