I recently stayed here for four nights, at the end of my trip to Japan, and I loved it. Smallish, but beautifully designed and maintained room, and first class, friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. I only had breakfasts here but they were superb - a wide range of both western and Japanese breakfast goods were available. Lots of incredible garnishes for the rice (which I just can’t find in the UK, like perilla kelp and the tiniest dried prawns I’ve ever seen) and some of the nicest miso soup I’ve ever had. The fried fish was perfect! The green tea was high quality and delicious. The chefs are a credit to this hotel. This hotel is very well placed for transportation links. Very close to Sanjo railway station and bus stops, so it’s easy to get out to Arashiyama or down to the Tori gates at Fushimi Inari. Easy walking distance for Gion and the covered Nikishi market area, and there’s always taxis going up and down, outside the hotel. I honestly have nothing negative to say about my stay here - it was my favourite hotel of my trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

Dhawa Yura Kyoto offers a well-composed and consistently positive stay. The hotel combines a modern, understated design with a calm atmosphere that feels appropriate for Kyoto. Despite its convenient location, the interior remains quiet, allowing guests to relax without distraction. The overall presentation is polished, and the property feels carefully maintained. Service is professional and discreet, with staff providing support efficiently without being intrusive. The hotel does not rely on excessive luxury, but instead delivers a steady level of comfort and quality. As a result, it feels dependable and well suited for travelers who value balance, cleanliness, and ease of stay. Overall, Dhawa Yura Kyoto stands out as a reliable option that meets expectations across key areas, making it a comfortable base for a visit to the city.

Stayed here for 6 nights whilst on our 5 week touring holiday around Japan, room 213. Loved the hotel but probably because it was by far one of the nicest we had stayed in up to this point. It was probably the most western, the guests mainly American and European. We had stayed in quite a few hotels with pretty firm beds and small rooms so the room here was huge in comparison and the bed was the biggest bed I have ever slept in, we have a super king size at home and this was way, way bigger, you could have slept 6 people comfortably in there, I kept loosing my husband in it during the night!! And when I say comfortable, that was my only complaint, it was so comfy I could not bear to leave it in the morning, plus the fact that breakfast was until 10.30, I had every excuse to stay in it for as long as possible and yet so much to do and see in Kyoto. The room had everything you would expect in it for Japan hotel, fridge, coffee making, dressing gowns, slippers, the one thing they could have done with was a larger wardrobe or at least more than 4 hangars supplied per room but I guess you could have asked for more. Conveniently situated near the subway station for ease of getting everywhere. Only about 5 minute walk to the Pomtocho district with all the small eateries although I would highly recommend the following restaurants, after 3 weeks in Japan we were ready for some different styles of food:- Italian for neopolitan style pizza called “Pizzeria da Naghino”, for Okonomiyaki and wonderful garlic shrimp try “Teppanyaki Manryu” and for beef tonkatsu “Gyukatsu Motomura” and a great Indian called “Mughal” (see my reviews on all 4). We did not eat in the hotel restaurant but the breakfast was very good, making fresh omelettes for you and on until late. They had a bar if you fancied a drink making various cocktails and also a small area where you could make yourself a Starbucks Nespresso coffee and get a couple of small snacks. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Can highly recommend a stay here and part of the Accor group if you are collecting your points.

First class hotel with excellent and professional reception team. Stayed for 5 nights with husband and 2 daughters in premier king rooms. They were spacious with walk in shower and unique seating area. Rooms had a real boutique feeling. Reception area was stunning with trees on lower level growing up to mezzanine level. Ate one meal in restaurant , staff were helpful and food lovely. Location of hotel is one of it high points too, right beside sanjo station which is perfect for accessing all the nation sights of Kyoto . Can not recommend hotel enough , it is perfect .

This hotel offered convenient access to the subway as well as many nearby tourist attractions. Rooms were modern and clean. The main reason I chose to leave a 5 star review was because of the front desk staff. Rou Hang in particular helped my wife and I tremendously figuring out how to catch our flight back home out of Osaka efficiently. The 5 stars belong to her.

Pros: Very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The location is convenient, and coffee and tea are available at all times. Cons: The room was noisy, especially those facing the road, where cars tend to drive fast.

A beautiful stay. The rooms and hotel are modern and spacious. The staff were very helpful, and assisted us in forwarding our luggage to our next hotel. Great location, right next to a metro station and a short walk to the hub of Kyoto. The hotel has a fairly well equipped gym with a smith machine, free weights up to 10kg, and several cardio machines.

Very happy service. Advertised a king bed but it was 2 beds joined together and was too soft. The whole hotel is comfortable however could improve cleanliness in the shower area. Space was a little squeezy with luggages. Overall still happy with my stay.
