Cannot fully express how much we enjoyed staying at Dhow Palace. The hotel made you feel like you were staying in a museum, the rooms were spacious, the bathroom was immaculate, and the staff were jolly, funny and very comfortable to be around. The hotel is well situated in the middle of Stone Town and everything is in walking distance. The food was also so so good and the staff actually served us supper on the rooftop which was stunning. I will 100/10 recommend this place.

Very Convenient location and rooms were clean and well maintained. It was great they had a lift. We loved the rooftop view and it was peaceful up there. They spray your rooms every evening and put down your mosquito net. Staff were friendly and prompt. Breakfast was okay, some days better than others. Overall it was a good stay. A little overpriced for the airport transfer.

The Dhow Palace Hotel, located in the heart of Stone Town, Zanzibar, is a charming boutique hotel that blends the island's rich cultural heritage with modern comforts. Set within a beautifully restored historic building, the hotel offers a mix of traditional Swahili architecture and contemporary amenities. The name "Dhow Palace" is inspired by the region's maritime history, with the dhow (traditional wooden sailing boats) playing a significant role in Zanzibar's past. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with intricate woodwork, private balconies, and modern facilities. The hotel also features a rooftop restaurant offering stunning views of the town and the Indian Ocean, making it a perfect choice for both relaxation and exploration. Its central location allows easy access to nearby historical sites, vibrant markets, and pristine beaches.

A lovely hotel with so much history in tue antique objects used to decorate the corridors & rooms. Nice pool. Very good breakfast served with a smile. The only 4 issues for me were that 1. the unsuited bathroom is not completely separate from the room. This can be easily fixed. 2. The lighting in the room was very dim, so found it difficult to read. 3. Entrance from the pool to the hotel has high steps & need the handrail to be extended to the whole length of the steps. 4. Poor wifi.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while we ventured around Stone town during our visit in October 2024. One of the reasons we had preferred this hotel was that it is in the heart of the Stone Town that makes everything easily accessible. A very well curated hotel which used to be a palace earlier; it has variety of rooms with different views. The hotel has all the necessary amenities and can support in getting ground transportation, guide as well as an itinerary during your stay. They a nice buffet but does not provide liquor. Would definitely recommend at least a couple of days stay here.

Very good pool area and good prizes!||We forgot a teddy bear at the hotel and the friendly staff sent it with a taxi to us at our other hotel in a different area at Zanzibar ||Thank you!|Best regards|Puk, Olivia and Emilia from Denmark

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very basic, but fine. Bedroom was nice and spacious with AC, however, there was no glass in the internal windows which made room quite loud and reduced our privacy. Also, the external windows looked out on to thrash. Bathroom was derelict in appearance with a leaking sink. It looked like it belonged in a run down motel rather than a 4* hotel. Overall, it was fine. If returning to stone town I would likely stay elsewhere

Everything was fantastic apart from the coffee. The rooms were great, and the ambience was fantastic with a great historic feel. I would go again, it's so close to everything and with a great pool, it's simply a great place to unwind.
