I visited Diamond Peak Ski Resort for the first time on my birthday after learning about their free ski pass birthday offer on their website, and it was an amazing experience! Despite not all the trails being open yet, I had so much fun on the slopes. The runs that were available were well-maintained and offered stunning views of Lake Tahoe. One of the highlights of the day was how uncrowded the resort was compared to others in the area. It was such a refreshing change to not deal with long lines or packed runs. Getting there early was definitely the right call because it allowed me to park close to the resort, making the day even more convenient and enjoyable. The friendly and welcoming staff made the experience even better. They truly went above and beyond to ensure I had a great time, which left such a positive impression on me. If you’re considering a ski resort in the Tahoe area, Diamond Peak is a hidden gem! The birthday pass offer brought me here, but the incredible experience and laid-back vibe will have me coming back again and again. Highly recommend!

Google
Diamond Peak is truly a breathtaking, serene destination that you have to see for yourself. The views are absolutely majestic and worth the trip alone. The ski lodge was surprisingly uncrowded, which meant no waiting for ski lifts—a rare treat. The resort offers plenty of routes for all skill levels, making it perfect for a single-day visit. That said, I found the number of runs limited, so one day was just right for me. While I’d happily return to soak in the stunning views from the top, I’d likely choose another ski resort for a second day of skiing. Diamond Peak is ideal for a short but memorable visit!

Google
Great place to bring beginner ski or snowboard kids and adults. For veterans nice quick short to medium runs. Parking can be tough, but they provide a pick up at parking lots. Just inconvenient if you forgot something in car. Staff very friendly, patient, and helpful.

Google
Five stars to this resort as a beginner snowboarder. This place is much less crowded and sort of under rated compared to other ski resorts which was my reason for choosing it. It snowed real hard on day 1 of my lesson and it was complete wash. However second day was a resounding success much credit to the instructor John Parker. He is incredibly patient and skilled. 4 more people joined the afternoon beginner snow boarding lessons and soon we were on the bunny slopes. We practiced getting on and off the lift as well. The people who run tram are also very kind and helpful. The staff at the rental shop could use extra support and they look like they are always rushing but they did fit me with proper equipment. Already thinking of coming back.

Google
What a cool little ski resort. We hiked up to the Snowflake lodge to take in the incredible views of Lake Tahoe. It took about an hour up and back. The terrain here looks very fun in the wintertime. This appears to be a great resort to catch some views of Lake Tahoe and ski some awesome trees!

Google
Nice resort only 30 minutes from Carson City with views of Lake Tahoe on many runs. In high school when our ski team had meets there it was called Ski Incline as it’s at Incline Village. They do a decent job of grooming runs including black diamond runs. Facilities are clean and well maintained, but expect resort prices for food. Cocktails were not as expensive as the food. I recommend this resort for all ability levels, and they let me ski free on my birthday!

Google
We had a solid 6 hours at Diamond Peak, very friendly staff and our rentals were great for the slopes. Reasonably priced and the snow was perfect to bust yourself as much as you can handle :) Like others said, there is a slope for everyone where it does not feel rushed and family friendly. I lost my phone and I want to shout out to whomever found it... THANK YOU entirely!! The front office had it and I can not be more grateful to their team. The area is extremely clean and is truly a trip worth every second. Can't wait to go back and try my luck on these again. Thank you Diamond Peak for knocking one more off the bucket list!! Yall stay DIAMONDS!

Google
Hidden gem resort, very nice trails especially great for beginners and intermediate skiers. Parking can be challenging on peak days , but there is tram and bus to take

Yelp
I've skied at Diamond Peak for years now. On and off as a kid, but most recently as a pass holder after getting away from the disaster that is Epic pass. I've had a blast so far this season reacquainting myself with the mountain and enjoying the events that DP has to offer. I love the local connections, small town vibes, and community owned practices that Diamond Peak represents. Of my 25 years of skiing, I've never had an easier time pulling into a ski resort and jumping on the mountain. No stress, just great skiing. I've even started my four year old on skis this year and it's a great place for a beginner to learn. As a veteran skier, I find some challenging runs and when there is snow, the skiing off the groomers is great too. Make sure to check out the Snowflake lodge for awesome BBQ lunch and killer views, or check out the main lodge for local brews from Alibi Ale Works.

Oleg H.

Yelp
With basic ski facilities becoming a rarity DP is holding its own against the likes of Palisades and whatever is owned by vsil resorts. If you like me are able to make mid week - you're in for a treat.

Chris P.

Yelp
The skiing is decent, but they are severely understaffed. There's a + 1 hour wait to pick up ski passes that were previously purchased online. Given the prices they charge, I find it insulting that the resort cannot handle or support their customers. Furthermore, the parking is extremely limited so make sure to arrive early. I will probably not return here again.

Fiona T.

Yelp
I opted for the 10am ski lesson + beginner lift combo for $120 and the $65 ski rentals which included skis, poles, and a helmet. The lifts closed at 4:05pm We got there past the recommended 9am time to pick up rentals and ended up being a little late for our lesson. Pro tip: get there on time. John Klein and Nicole instructed me and 2 of my friends. They taught us how to get in and out of our skis, how to start, slow down, stop, turn, and get on and off the lift. We were able to confidently go down and come back up on the training slope on our own after the lesson. The food at the lodge was good and reasonably priced. We were also able to snag some stickers from the resort's favorite employee on our way out! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I had my best day of skiing here ever. Weekdays are better than the weekends because there wasn't as many people to run into, and it just snowed a few days before so there was the best powder on the slopes. That being said, I made some great acquaintances everywhere I went here from Macy at the sports shop to Chris at the loft bar... these guys partner with the Grand Hyatt Regency down the street (see my review of the cutthroat saloon) to make your experience great. The sports shop at the grand Hyatt is afiliated with the diamond Peak sports shop so you can charge stuff to your room including your skis and helmet and ski boots. Beginners will find their bunny slope schoolyard/schoolhouse and beginner chairlift easy to navigate and more seasoned skiers will find the runs tasty as well. I could actually carve better here than I could in Telluride. you will not be disappointed coming here..

Yelp
As a skier for more than 60 years, this little resort has some of the best grooming I have ever seen anywhere in the world. It is a small mountain with great skiing, generally for intermediate to advanced gears. Something for everyone, but there are no double black diamonds, and only one green run per se. For a first time beginners first day this is a great little resort with one or two of the lists that are accessible. The instructors are great. Their food is quite good, and the congestions are generally as good or better than most of the resorts in the area

Sven S.

Yelp
Diamond Peak is a very family friendly resort and it has good ski instructors. The food at the lodge is very good for a ski lodge. It is a nice resort and it has all of the ski runs from the lowest level to the highest levels. We recommend it as a family friendly option in Tahoe.

Matthew T.

Yelp
Great, smaller, family mountain in Incline village. Although small, it's great for kids and adults. Plenty of runs to keep you busy. We had fresh powder one day and it was a totally different mountain from the day prior. The rental shop is very friendly and efficient. I was fully equipped and out in about 10 minutes from arrival. The lodges are good too. Especially the little lodge at the top of the smaller chair lift, snowflake lodge. It's a great place to have your lunch and watch an amazing view of Lake Tahoe. The larger lower lodge is a great stop for after ski drinks too. This is a nice comfortable mountain that's not too crowded and is a lot of fun. Worth going for sure.

Yelp
The bar at Diamond Peak is an excellent place to meet new friends and neighbors. I've been popping in here during the ski season for nearly a decade now. Sometimes the place gets packed and an extra bartender would make sense. Because this is owned and operated by the local village district, their hands are understandably tied when it comes to some business-based decisions, but since my first visit, I've been dreaming of the day that this bar (and the Grill at the Chateau) could stay open year round. In the summer months, lots of folks come to the mountain to bike or hike, and having this spot open for business would be a perfect way to end the day. Alas, I'm not in charge, and it probably won't happen anytime soon, but a girl can dream. I recently attended the closing-day party for the epic 2022-23 ski season (it's STILL snowing in May!) and had a wonderful time visiting with my friends and neighbors with excellent live music and yummy drinks.

Yelp
Snowboarding is soooo fun and Diamond Peak was the best place to learn . This was my first time snowboarding and our instructors Robbie and Kai are a blast . I had a bad habit of falling on my hands/wrist which was a no-no but I couldn't help it. Best advice is take lessons, don't over think snowboarding + learn & pay attention to breaking (balance is important). Next time I'll snowboard longer, it's difficult when it's that time of month (tmi) I know, bad excuse haha! Definitely coming back. Checkin was a little chaotic but maybe it's because we arrived around lunchtime. I thought Monday would be slower but there was still a good amount of people. I'm sure the weekends are packed, probably way less than South Lake Tahoe. We rented snowboard boots and snowboards there. My snowboard boots were missing the barcode so it was annoying having to take them off and put on another pair. I didn't realize how much prepping it was, but maybe because I'm a newbie . Regardless we had fun!

Evan O.

Yelp
Good time snowboarding. But took 2 hours to get our snowboard rental and boots. Pretty disorganized at their rental shop. And rude service from the lady that gave us our boots

J. S.

Yelp
Over one hour ticket line and 45 min line to get food. Seriously? Food service is total amateur hour. 40 min to get one beer.

Yelp
We booked a weekend trip to Tahoe for my daughters 23rd birthday. Luckily there was still snow when we went and not so much that we needed chains on our tires coming and going. My daughter, husband and 2 sons all headed to the resort, after renting their snowboard equipment at Davies, around 11AM. Since it was the actual day of my daughter's 23rd birthday she was able to get a lift ticket for free. My 16 yr old son went snowboarding with her and his lift ticket was $150. I arrived with my granddaughter and son in law at around 2PM. We found a little patch of snow where we pulled my granddaughter back and forth in her sled which was enough snow play for the little 13 month old. There is a snack shack that has a patio deck that looks over where everyone ends up when coming down from the mountain tops. We purchased some snacks and let my munchkin walk around and watch the skiers coming down the hill. Food was good and cost was comparable to any place off site. There was a lot of room inside as well as their outside balcony area that had lots of adirondack chairs as well as picnic style tables and benches. The lift stopped running at 4PM and we started to make our way out to the parking lot. What was pleasant to see is they have a truck that has an attached trailer that people can load in on and the truck acts like a shuttle and starts at the furthest part of the parking lot and drops people off. We'll be back.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Just finished a few days of skiing at our favorite local ski resort. Superb runs despite the lack of snow this year and the views can't be beat. The staff is super friendly, the food is about half the price of competitors and no lift lines at all. Parking is free (most a few steps from the slopes) and you don't have to wait a half hour for a shuttle bus plus another 30 minutes to get up the mountain. Plus no traffic!! A+++

John C.

Yelp
Aside from the pink eye how was the hill? Good stuff: kids program for older kids is awesome. Our 6 year old had a great time and is loving skiing. We had 1 to 2 ratio which was great and he was cruising greens by end of day 2. Our 4 year was too young but the rental skis and boots aren't tied to the program so we had a dad ski lesson and made an afternoon of it. Bad stuff: Even thought we had our own helmet and goggles they made us rent theirs. Our kids got pink eye. I'm sure lice is happens as well. Don't let them force you to rent their bring your own.

Joan D.

Yelp
Shout out to Sarah and Laura at Crystal Quad for letting me on the chair for the LAST RUN of the day!

Helen H.

Yelp
We got here an hour before our skiing lessons ($120) at 10:00, and barely made it on time. We rented helmets, ski boots, and skis ($65). It took us/me awhile to put on the shoes, check out, and lug our skis/poles down to where the lessons took place. There were two instructors. They went over some basic things while we were waiting for the stragglers. One of the instructors was quite rude. He repeatedly told us to look at him and how he was holding his poles. We were looking, but what he meant was look and do as he did. It's YOU not us. When all of us was gathered, there was a total of 11 adults split into two groups. One of the guys in the other group asked to be with his wife. The rude instructor denied his request and berated him for being late. I didn't feel that was necessary. My group was also split, but I'm glad I was in the other instructor's group. After an hour and 45 minutes of the lesson, I don't know if skiing is for me. I need do some strength training if I ever decide to do it again. I'm glad I tried it out though.

Alicia A.

Yelp
Bartenders work there a$$es off to accommodate an unruly crowd of skiers and spectators. These ladies deserve a round of applause rather rather than a critique. Great customer service and attention to detail.

Teresa F.

Yelp
Absolutely love this resort. We ski here often and always end the day with a delicious margarita at the lodge. These are absolutely the best on the lake. The snow is perfect this season and the lodge is warm. Definitely recommend DP.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Our day at Diamond Peak was a blast! We got there first thing and easily found parking on a Friday morning in March. We had made reservations a month in advance for two beginner snowboarding lessons and equipment rental. The process of checking in and gathering the equipment was easy. All the employees every step of the way were nice and did a good job of answering our questions. We reported to the school house area after collecting our gear to wait for our lesson. The lesson was informative, but I felt it was a bit fast paced, so before I knew it, we were trying our newly acquired knowledge on the beginner slope. As small children gracefully glided down past me, I was continuously wiping out for fear I was going too fast. Not a comment on Diamond Peak or the instructor, but an error in judgment on my part in thinking I would be able to have both of my feet bound to a board and sail down a slope. Next time, I think I will try cross country instead of something that feels like I have zero control. The only improvement I would ask for is more benches. There was only one bench at the beginner slope and with multiple people wanting to sit at the same time, I felt pressured to not sit when I was really tired and wanted to sit after my exhaustive trek down the slope.

Mike K.

Yelp
I wish you could give 0 Starts. My daughter wanted to join us mid day, so I asked 3 different staffers and they all said they have half day tickets so she went to go rent equipment. When she got there, they charged her $160. I spoke to a man in "customer relations." What an absolute unprofessional jerk. He told me several times that they haven't had half days for 3 years. I asked to at least discount my daughter as a student and for online. He said, "even when we had half-days it was only $20 off." When I asked him for the discount he told "we have a board that does not allow discounts." I asked him to ask a supervisor. He left to go to the back. After waiting for a few minutes, I asked the young woman at the window to see if the man was back there. He was so disgustingly unprofessional that he made the young woman come out to tell me he could not do anything for me. This guy should not be a manager of anything. If that wasn't enough, we asked a lift person how late the lodge up Lakeview was open and he said 4, and when we got to that lift, the guy at the bottom said they were still open at 3. Got to the top. Nope. Closed. What the hell is wrong with people?

Nathan D.

Yelp
Big shout out to Roland in the Diamond Peak ski shop at the Hyatt in Incline. Super helpful and courteous with our gear rental, helped make our day that much better!

Nick M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite ski spots. It is on the smaller side, but there are often no wait for the lifts so I find that I actually ski more and cover more terrain than at larger resorts. They have a great mix of intermediate and advanced runs and you cannot beat the views of Lake Tahoe as you ski down a slope! The staff are all chill and they have two lodges--the main, larger one at ground level and the Snow Flake Lodge which you access via the Lakeview lift. That one has outdoor seating with killer views. Free parking and reasonable lift tickets lead to an amazing ski day!

Paddy O.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 50 years and honestly I can tell you it is the best kept secret in all of Tahoe. Don't tell anyone. Everyone thinks this place too crowded especially when they see the FULL parking lot (even on the blackout dates) but once you get to mid mountain, the lift lines are short, and the runs and views. The vibe of this place is also very laid back and cool. They hire both young and old and the attitudes of all in the lift lines, at the bar, in the parking lot, and check in are all fantastic. It's also terrific for kids I believe they ski for free under the age of eight and seniors over the age of 80 ski for free as well. If you go up top and eat at the snowflake lodge, it is seriously the best view and all of Tahoe.

Shizuka M.

Yelp
Small and cozy ski resort. Initially I gave 5 stars on Google but after several visits and 3 ski lessons, I adjusted it to 3. This is mainly because of unsatisfactory ski lesson. The first two lessons were great (group and private) but the last one was not so great. For me seemed like my daughter was placed in a wrong class than I registered. When I booked the lesson I showed them the lesson card with a note from the instructor. And based on it, they told me that she will be taking an "experienced" class (Lodgepole, she was already riding and practicing there. Besides there was only one student to register at that time so I was happy to register) But it turned out, the lesson time she was at the lower School yard course!!! Afterall she spent 2 hrs there and rode the lift only a couple of times. If I knew that we could take her to the upper lift course and let her just practice on our own or could go private lesson. I heard that there was only one student besides her but actually there were more. (The final number was 4). I understand that many students take class together as a feature of group lessons so I have no complaints on that but this gave me a further doubt or clue that she might be placed in a different class than I was explained. I asked the instructor to move her up to upper class but it didn't go well. She told me that she could give task for her, which was nice of the instructor. Long story short, If you really want to learn and practice ski I'd recommend taking a private lesson. The counter staff were all friendly and good instructors but something might happen on group lesson placement or lack of communication cause waste your time (and money).

Yelp
Today was our first time at Diamond Peak and we had the best time but Luke (i hope is his name, i have horrible memory) stole the show. We had our toddler out their today learning how to ski and Luke was so kind and patient and really made it a great experience. You can tell he's genuinely really great with kids! We hope he gets a lot of recognition, he made it a great a experience.

Yelp
Brian and Kelsey are the vibes ! The rooms are greatly groomed my favorite smaller resort

Yelp
I had a blast here, although it seemed gravity was NOT on my side, as I always kept accelerating towards everyone else!!!! I stayed at Hyatt in Incline Village, First, you can buy a lift ticket from the sports shop at Hyatt (bonus). Then Second, Hyatt has a free shuttle (double bonus) running every 30 minutes which is convenient and you don't have to take the long march from the parking lot, you get dropped off right in front! As my first time here, on this particular day in April, the snow was a bit sticky and the temperature was in the low 40's. This made the easy trail "Freeway" tough because there were many sections where you have to push with your poles to avoid coming to a complete stop. But once you hit the medium trails, such as Popular, Crystal Ridge, or Sunnyside, the trails are steeper than expected and even with my best efforts to control my speed, I kept accelerating towards everyone. The view from Crystal Ridge is amazing of the lake. But pay attention to the trail else you will hit a random tree or stopped skier. I must be getting out of shape, because in the middle of the day I was pretty tired, and in need of a lunch break. I found two eating areas, one at the main lodge at the base of the mountain and a small cafe at Snowflake Lodge, where ski patrol and bathrooms are available. So I had a sandwich at Snowflake Lodge and enjoyed the lake view again. The shuttle was waiting to pick up people, and be aware, if no one is on the bus, the buy will lap the parking lot to allow car traffic through, so wait and see, you might find the bus waiting again in a few minutes. I found this to be a fun experience, and I stayed on the medium and easy trails. Steep trails will keep you entertained with plenty of trail options.

Yelp
We had such a great time visiting Diamond Peak! Everyone is so kind and friendly. Nancy in the rentals shop is awesome and Kris at the upstairs bar went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time (see photo).

Xinbei Y.

Yelp
I booked a lesson in Diamond Peak, but due to snowstorm, I was stuck on the road and ended up cancel the whole trip. I called Diamond Peak 2 days ahead of time, but upon I waited 30min on my phone, it suddenly hang up on me. I called again the same happened. I have no way to reach out to Diamond Peak. I wrote email, left messages, trying to have my ticket canceled ahead of time, but no one answers any of them. The 48hr cancellation policy is more like a scam since they don't allow customer to reach out to them. I feel so so so terrible, I have been calling them everyday trying to follow the policy but they made this impossible and wasn't issue any refund. :(

Andy S.

Yelp
I came here for my first time skiing ever! Signed up for the AM beginner ski lesson. My instructor was Jan, she was wonderful and it honestly felt like a private lesson since there were just 4 of us in the class. She learned all of our names and gave personalized tips to each of us. The bunny/training hill was great and fun to go down. Great hill for learning. After the class our lift tickets were for the whole day but only worked the green runs. I tried the green up the hill from the bunny hill and it's much steeper and longer! I would not recommend doing that hill until you are very comfortable with skiing. I was pretty much falling down the whole time. Overall had a great time here and would go back again if I wanted to ski again! I also went to the food court for breakfast and lunch. Was surprised how expensive the breakfast sandwiches were. My bacon breakfast sandwich was $9, the turkey lunch sandwiches were only $8, so I thought breakfast would have been less.

Yelp
This review is for the old lady with a wrinkly face at the ski boot department. She was so rude to customers and couldn't be bothered to offer any help. She almost lost her temper with my son just because he had a hard time putting on his ski boot. She literally yelled at him. I can't believe we got this kind of customer "service" at Diamond Peak. Other staff at the ski sled and check out counter were so much more friendlier. The older lady could be grouchy because she still has to work and couldn't enjoy her retirement yet. Today is 12/20/22 and she was there at 9:30am. Management could track her down and have a pep talk with her. Other than this incident, we are happy with Diamond Peak. It's a family friendly ski resort and my family loves coming here every December.

Gen M.

Yelp
This is a gem of a ski resort: it has a true neighborhood feel as it is mostly frequented by locals, who know the terrain like the back of their hand, many of them having grown up skiing the slopes here. I love that on a usual day you can ski right up to a chair and there is usually no wait. Also, the folks who work here are super friendly. Having said that, it can get busier on holidays and some weekends, but the lines are usually not longer than 15 minutes. It's not huge, so you can ski everything in an afternoon. If you aren't a local with an IGVID card, it costs about $135; $100 if you come with someone who has a season pass. Oh, and parking is free!

Navreet Raju K.

Yelp
Love the ski school for littles. Def pricey. But parking is easy. Close to the slopes. Views are spectacular. Not a huge resort and great for kids to learn. We got here every ski week with the kids.

Megan U.

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem! The views are absolutely breathtaking at the top and while skiing some trails! No double diamonds or anything crazy but the black trails are pretty steep and fun to ski down. I would recommend for an intermediate skier to go here for 1 day (maybe 2 days) but you can definitely cover most of the trails here in a day if you come for the whole day.  I went on a Friday and Saturday and of course Friday was more enjoyable since it was less crowded and the snow conditions was better. When it gets busy the lift area is a bit long wait and a little messy. Depending on the weather the ski conditions can be amazing. If it's really sunny the some trails get a bit slushy. Very little to no ice which was such a pleasant surprise (coming from someone who has only skied on the east coast where it's often icy). The lift tickets aren't too pricey as well.  On Saturday it is pretty crowded and even though we arrived a little after 9am (when they say they open), the regular parking lot was full and we parked quite far. It seems like they have a lot of parking which is nice and they also have a frequent "tram" (a seating area attached to a truck) that stops at several tram stops along where cars are parked (that are far away from the resort) and it will bring you right to the lodge at the bottom which is super nice. They also have this free resort going back at the end of the day and they do run pretty frequent. They have decent COVID practices, on the lift they state that they require there to be at least 1 empty seat separating different parties. They also enforce wearing mask when you get on the lift. The crystal express lift doesn't have anyone really monitoring/directing the lines so it's a bit of a mess but not too bad. The lines for the lift and food in the lodge aren't really socially distanced but overall not bad.

Lauren C.

Yelp
We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't crazy packed. We did not have to wait in long lines for the ski lifts and we weren't crowded on the slopes. As a beginner I stuck with the lower level slopes and my husband went on the black slopes. My last ride I went to the top and it was beautiful! You see the lake and it's truly breathtaking. The ride down was a little scary as a beginner but I had a great time. They only rent boots and boards. They sell everything else you need. The last shuttle to the bottom of the parking lot is at 430. We unfortunately missed it and had to walk down. It wasn't too bad but after a full day of snowboarding you are tired haha. They also provide a discount to residents of incline so don't forget your resident card!

Sally A.

Yelp
BEGINNERS (snowboarding): I went on a peak weekend so the price was fixed at $69 for Beginner Lift Access (good for Lodgepole & Schoolhouse lifts only). I highly recommend starting out at Schoolhouse, which is basically flat. This run is different because rather than taking the ski lift first, you go down the run and then take a ski lift back up. It's great for those who want to get comfortable riding before attempting to successfully get off a ski lift. Once you're confident, Lodgepole is the next step up. The ski lift for that is located right next to the Lodge. It was pretty busy when I went but there's plenty of space so I didn't have to dodge anyone, which was nice. You also get decent views of Lake Tahoe. The lodge offers beer, pizza, fries, and plenty of other options when you feel like you need a break (it's quite tiring when you're learning). They also offer lessons which you can purchase!

Joan F.

Yelp
Outstanding hike to the peak in a six mile jaunt with perhaps a 1,000 foot climb. Lots of dappled shade for sun relief on a July mid day. It's a popular trail for hikers and mountain bikers, so be prepared to share the space. I look forward to returning for more hiking adventures in the future--it seems to be a great choice in heavy snow years, given it's lower elevation and western facing slopes for afternoon sun.

Yelp
Diamond Peak, you are a GEM! One of my favorite ski/snowboard resorts in Tahoe, and I've been to almost all of them over the past 6-7 years since moving to Nor Cal! What Diamond Peak lacks in overall size, it more than makes up for in atmosphere. Sure it's nowhere near the massiveness of Heavenly or Squaw, but that's actually what I love about it. Great local vibes, super fun runs, stunning views of Lake Tahoe, and they don't gouge you with ridiculous lift ticket rates! Plus, it's rarely ever crowded like the big resorts. "I like waiting 20-30 minutes in lines every time I try to get on a lift," said no one ever! My husband and I have been regulars here every season for the past 4-5 years. It's just a great ski resort for us "big kids" and for little kids alike. Plus they offer the best birthday perk when you ski or ride on your birthday (lucky that mine is right smack in the middle of winter!). Can't wait till next season! Shout out to Lia who was directing the lift lines one of the days we were there this past season. She's one of the friendliest (and super efficient lift line controller) employees we've come across, as well as Mary at Guest Services! Thank you Diamond Peak for staying true to Tahoe and making skiing and snowboarding so much fun and accessible for all!

Yelp
Diamond Peak is known by locals as one of the smaller resorts around Lake Tahoe, which is one of the reasons I love it! It's rarely as crowded as other resorts on weekends and even when it is busier than usual, people are generally gathered at the bottom for kids lessons or beginner runs. Once you get up past the first lift the crowds usually thin out considerably and the top of the mountain is nice and open. It's one of the cheaper resorts to get a lift ticket and they have great deals on kids lessons and rentals as part of a package. You can also find great deals through Costco and other sites like Liftopia. They also offer discounted rentals if you've flown in to Reno in the past week or two and can provide your boarding pass. The resort has some great tree runs from the top as well as nice groomed runs that you can jump on from several different locations. They really have something for everyone, from very mellow long runs to some intense moguls and "back country" riding. The views from all around Diamond peak are also some of the greatest in Tahoe to see the lake while riding in the snow. The lodges are nice and you can get a good selection of food and drinks. I usually opt for the chili for some reason but have tried burgers, ribs etc and haven't been disappointed. The lodge at the top of the Lakeview lift is a nice treat to get a view of Lake Tahoe while enjoying a quick bite or nice beverage on the patio. Holidays here are busy just like any other resort but I still think your better off at Diamond peak vs. other larger resorts. I went to Diamond peak over Christmas Break and while it was crazy once I got to the top it was still not very crowded. Overall, if you are looking to go to a resort on a busy weekend, or are looking to save a little money on lift tickets and rentals, Diamond peak is a great option and I highly recommend a trip if you haven't been!

Yelp
Super nice folks teaching little kiddos lessons as well as nice folks running the children counter ski lessons. The prices are not too steep either. Phones answering may not be the best! And what I think is also a downside is I can not register my kiddos online. That is a bummer! Having to stop by before opening to get in the registration line seems a bit outdated kind of thing to do. Overall the ski resort has gone through new ownership and name change but I really like that it is in the back of our neighborhood. We it's small but just the perfect size.

Yelp
You have to order lift tickets online. So far so good. It is a ridiculous practice from there. The resort requires people who bought online to wait outside in another line to get the printout tickets. On a weekday morning around 1030a this was an additional 15 minute wait. I can't imagine how long it would be earlier than that. It could've been resolved by adding staff at the window. One of the lifts serving green trail was closed. And there is really just one green run. It's shorter than most runs back East. And all the skiers coming from blue and black trails above come buzzing through, making the beginner skiers nervous. Not a problem for me as I was on the blues and blacks but someone in our group is a greens skier and was very bothered by it. Good price but needs work!

Yelp
Diamond Peak is fun. I wouldn't really call it a resort. It's very much an arrive and ski type of thing with the parking lot 20 feet away from the lifts. There's a cafe at the top and that's about it in terms of shopping (great pricing on everything btw, $3 hot chocolates, $4 cocktails, etc) It's definitely a beginner/intermediate type of environment but there are a few expert runs to keep even the pros occupied (and they even have race/sport runs). Overall, a great value, and the views at the top are easily the best in Tahoe.

Yelp
It was not worth the money. The instructor was unpleasant and insensitive, and by the time they start to open shop, you'll be sitting in a long rental queue...It is one of the most unorganized and unprofessional experiences for my family and I. Additionally, the instructor was rude to my family and didn't appear to take us seriously. If you're in the area, there are far better options.

Yelp
My first experience at Diamond Peak was a great experience. You will not be disappointed. Resort was awesome, staff was friendly, food was awesome and transportation at least for me was fantastic. Since I am a beginner to snowboarding I bought a beginners lesson. It came with free rental gear (if you don't have gear of your own) and lift ticket. I had a great instructor, his name was Kirby. Taught us alot of basic stuff about snowboarding. He answered alot of questions and explained everything in full detail. Never got to thank him at the end. He was very patient and professional. He never left a student behind. He was there for all the students. Patients is a virtue and definitely had it. I would definitely come here again and recommend it for everyone reading this comment.

Yelp
Staff was friendly and got you from the purchase point, to the rental gear, to the slopes extremely quick. When you got out there, it was not too busy and the mountain was very well maintained. Prices were great! I would definitely come back next season.

Yelp
I'm torn in this review because there w so many pros but a few bad apples that did not make it as pleasant as it could have. I will start with the good: - great space for beginners. My girls did amazing w 2 being their first time and my one being her 2nd. They were even up on the green right after the lessons that day. - my 4yo was completely frightened of the magic carpet and refused to move the first hour of the lesson. The instructor called me back to for a prep talk w my child - that failed but I had asked the instructor if she could hold her hand and she agreed and that seemed to help tremendously and that instructor walked away from the front desk to help - thank you! - The process for getting my 4 yo and 6yo registered for training went great and was fairly smooth. - my 8yo lessons - another story as she is in a different class - I had called prior to make sure I know what I need to do. The rep told me to show up at 930 to get the rentals but they don't open until 945! The line was looooong! Advice - even though the lessons include the equipment, for the older kid class, rent somewhere else. My daughter missed the first 30 minutes so she didn't get the full 2 hr. THANKFULLY there were a few kind guys that pushed us through the line but still Negative - - the lesson ended at 12 for my older child and I was there at the training flag. Didn't see my kid. I asked a trainer if that is where I would meet my kid and the guy tells me "you should have told your kid a meeting place, thats not our problem" I could not f'ing believe his response! How about "lesson ends here at the flag". - I got off the tram and as I wa getting my 4 yo off, The guy started to take off. Clearly something wrong there!! That could have been really bad - misspoke about when to get the rentals for daughter

Yelp
Booked lessons for myself and my husband, who's a first timer. I haven't skied for 20 years. Our booking was last minute because the trip was kind of spontaneous. Had to call to reserve the lessons but the prices were comparable for the area. We chose a 2pm lesson and were advised to get there 2 hours early for parking and rental pickup. Well, the weather delayed our plans and we didn't reach Tahoe until the day of (today) our lesson. We barely got there for an hour before the lesson but we were told we had plenty of time. I guess this means you don't actually need to rush ahead to be so early, or maybe it's that we chose a later time (and it closes at 4). Either way, we were the only ones in our group lesson, so we got a private lesson for the price of a group. Joseph from PA was our instructor and he was super patient and helpful. Rental equipment wasn't amazing but that's kind of the deal when you rent I think. Lesson was great and lots of time to go on runs. Not overcrowded and parking wasn't bad, just an uphill walk. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Yelp
What a great ski resort. I was so impressed with there skiers shuttle, which picked me up at my car, and drop me off at the front steps of the resort. The staff all were just so friendly and helpful, just a pleasure to be around. The mountain itself over just some stunning views of Lake Tahoe. Not to mention a variety of runs to challenge all level of skiers. There mid mountain restaurant and bar, The Snowflake views are just spectacular, w I thoroughly enjoyed my day so much. I plan on purchasing a season pass. I would absolutely recommend giving Diamond Peak a try, I know you'll be equally blown away. I went ahead and purchased a season pass and could be more delighted with my purchase, great resort. I'd recommend this place no matter what level you are, it's just a fun place to spend the day
